**What do you like best about Ordway?**

I like that Ordway is highly customizable and can accommodate many different accounting needs. We were able to build out custom solutions for our products because our accounting is unique, as is the accounting of most companies. In Ordway, you can have tons of different products and plans, and create revenue accounting rules based on every single line of business in your company. This was really helpful because we can recognize revenue in various ways, invoice differently, and perform other accounting operations depending on the product. It's easy for the business to scale because nothing bottlenecks on the finance side. We switched to Ordway from using spreadsheets, which enabled us to simplify processes previously managed with complex formulas. The team was very smart, kind, accommodating, and patient during the setup. Ordway has also accommodated scaling up and scaling down very well.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

When I first started using Ordway, it was better set up for QuickBooks and American companies than for Xero and international companies. That said, they've really improved, with new releases each month. The platform has become a lot more suitable for Xero users now.

**What problems is Ordway solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ordway talks to our general ledger and solves complex revenue recognition issues. It replaces spreadsheets, handles unique accounting needs with custom solutions, and simplifies the revenue accrual process.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

The platform’s interface is exceptionally intuitive, but the true value lies in how it has revolutionized our Order-to-Cash cycle. Prior to implementation, our billing operations—encompassing everything from subscription management to invoicing and collections—were entirely manual and prone to stagnation. Moving to Ordway has automated these workflows, effectively "freeing up" our finance team to focus on strategic innovation rather than administrative maintenance.

Additionally, the ability to generate consolidated reporting across multiple instances is a game-changer. For a business with multiple operating entities, being able to pull a unified AR Aging report provides the high-level visibility essential for accurate global cash flow management. The integrations with our existing tech stack have also proven remarkably seamless.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

While the platform is robust, we do experience occasional latency issues during peak usage. From a global perspective, there is still some friction regarding international cash collections; while the system performs flawlessly for our US-based customers, the global collection workflow could be further optimized. Finally, the platform’s greatest strength—its immense flexibility—can occasionally be a double-edged sword, making it somewhat cumbersome to troubleshoot the minor, unique configuration issues that naturally arise in a highly customized environment.

Ordway is solving the core challenge of consolidating billing operations for a complex, multinational business. By centralizing our multi-entity requirements into a single streamlined process, we have achieved significant operational scalability. **What do you like best about Ordway?**

What I like about Ordway is its flexibility and ability to handle every billing demand we’ve encountered so far. The platform is easy to navigate and supports our day-to-day accounts receivable operations extremely well. Whether it’s managing subscriptions, billing, or collections, Ordway has helped our team operate more efficiently and freed up time to focus on other areas of customer and business management.  Their team has provided top notch support. They have been helpful and responsive whenever we run into challenges.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

Ordway’s flexibility and customization options are extensive, and that can sometimes feel overwhelming when trying to determine the best approach for certain situations or building reports.  While this can feel like a "dislike" at times, it really speaks to the the breadth of  possibilities the system can account for, track and report on.  Overall, our experience has been very positive— any issues we’ve encountered have been resolved quickly by their great support team.

Ordway enables us to accurately bill complex parent/child account structures, which is essential for our operations. Its integrations with QuickBooks and Avalara add another layer of support by providing helpful error notifications. The platform’s versatility gives us confidence that as our company grows, we’ll be able to leverage even more of its capabilities that we haven’t yet tapped into.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

Our startup has been very happy with Ordway over the past five years. The platform has transformed our billing operations—what used to take a full week now takes just one day!  They are able to support our complex billing models, and have built tailored workflows to accomodate our specific requirements. The platform itself is intuitive, user-friendly, and flexible, with powerful yet simple custom reporting. 

The Quotes feature has been a notable addition, eliminating the need to manage contracts in separate systems. With Quotes, we can generate a quote, send it for e-signature, and automatically convert it into a new subscription, making our contract management process far more efficient.

Our customers also benefit from the Customer Portal, where they can view usage and invoice details directly. This has reduced the number of inquiries we receive and saves us time generating that information.

Finally, the customer support is excellent. The Ordway team is responsive, knowledgeable, and invested in our success. We really appreciate the time and effort the team has made to support our often complicated asks. 

Ordway has been huge help in streamlining our processes and we’re very pleased with both the platform and the partnership.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

Like any software system, occasionally we have experienced temporary glitches or latency issues. However, those issues were infrequent and not systematic, and the Ordway team has always been quick to resolve.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

The Ordway Platform has been easy to use and generally intuitive.  It has made the management of our subscriptions, billing, collections, and revenue recognition more efficient. Integration with Quickbooks makes it easy.  The system allows for flexibility, customization, and automation of any billing and payment scenario that we have faced.  The Ordway team has always been responsive with each support request we have initiated and have been receptive to our feedback and feature requests when we share our new and evolving needs.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

Overall, our experience has been positive and an improvement over other billing and revenue recognition platforms out there.  With so much flexibility in the system, it can sometimes make it challenging to quickly determine which is the best way to handle edge case situations.  Again, because so many options are available, creating custom reports can seem overwhelming at times. However, with any challenge we’ve run into, the entire team has been very responsive and helpful. They truly want to make sure they provide necessary guidance and learnings, and that the problem is resolved and not just providing temporary “workaround.”

**What problems is Ordway solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Unlike other billing and revenue management platforms, Ordway was able to successfully manage consolidated billing for complex parent/child relationships including sales tax in different states and jurisdictions.  Billing and collection automation allows for more time to be spent on other accounting and finance tasks.  The platform has made our small accounting team more efficient while providing the rich revenue and deferred revenue reporting we need for our auditors as well as for managing the business.

The platform manages all of our subscriptions and revenue recognition for us, syncing into quickbooks. Gone are the old spreadsheets and countless hours.

It can sometimes be had to explain a problem to the support team and get quick results.

We no longer have to pay bookkeepers to track and process all revenue recognition, plus it removes the chance of human error. We can also access clear reporting on our subscriptions.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

We have a complex pricing model with specific billing requirements, including tiered pricing and one-off charges. What I appreciate about Ordway is its flexibility and how easy it is to configure billing to match our needs. The platform adapts well to our structure, which has made a big difference.

Customer support has also been excellent, very responsive and helpful, especially when certain requests can be handled more efficiently on Ordway’s side.

Dashboard metrics and analytics reporting are very useful as we are able to track business performance with the out-of-the-box metrics and reports.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

There’s nothing major to call out, though we’ve occasionally experienced some slowness in the system, particularly during month-end close when usage peaks. That said, performance has noticeably improved over the years, and it’s clear the platform is continually being optimized.

**What problems is Ordway solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, we noticed some system bugs, particularly related to revenue schedules and subscriptions. We raised these issues with Customer Support, and they were promptly addressed. It’s great to see that the support team listens closely to customer feedback and is clearly committed to improving the product.

Overall our experience with Ordway has been great! Would like to see more customized helpdesk options.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

Like most SaaS companies we had a very complex legacy billing & revenue recognition process that had evolved over time. We set out to find a billing platform that would enable us to retain the same level of customization and control we had w/ our manual spreadsheet-based process, but found that all of the big players in the ERP and SaaS billing spaces were basically unable to accomodate our needs (we evaluated NetSuite , Chargebee, Zuora, SaasOptics, Recurly etc). Ordway immediately stood out as an intuitive platform that is highly customizable and intuitive. he implementation team was super helpful (shout out to Max and Hemant), and so is their general customer support team (shout out to Sneha). At one point during our implementation they even connected us with their product team in order to make a custom revenue in order fit our unique business needs. While it took us over a year to fully flesh out the integration between our website and Ordway and to migrate all of our customers to Ordway, I am confident that we made the right choice. Our revenue close process is now faster, more accurate, and more transparent.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

Overall I have only positive things to say about Ordway. On occassion we have experienced some minor glitches with the UI, but they are super responsive to support tickets and issues are generally resolved very quickly.

Ordway allows us to build custom billing and revenue schedules for our customers. As a part of this it generates invoices and receipts that sync to our website. It's a very intuitive and customizable platform that makes it easier for us to recognize revenue and for our customers to pay their invoices.

We've been Ordway customers for over a year now and they've been a game changer for our billing operations. What we love most about Ordway is how flexible their product/platform is. I'm pretty certain they are able to configure anything we would ever need it to. Their customer support is also incredible and have been super helpful anytime we've needed their assistance.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

Ordway's platform flexibility is really impressive. However, the extreme flexibility could make it difficult to identify the most effective 'best practices' approach to one's specific use cases. Would highly recommend working closely with their onboarding team to understand the exact end to end workflow you are looking to implement. This will help enable them to advise accordingly to making the most of their platform.

Ordway has significantly streamlined our operations by addressing our needs in billing, subscription management, and revenue recognition. It's transformed the way we handle our billing processes. Managing subscriptions / rev rec has become much more efficient, simplifying what used to be a manual complex process.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

Ordway allows our business to automate the billing and revenue recognition processes more than other tools in the space. The data organization simplifies the complicated ASC 606 revenue recognition process, and makes reporting easy. Because not every product has the same revenue recognition schedule even within the same company, flexibility is a huge non-negotiable for a company like ours, and Ordway was the only company who could support our framework, while allowing space to grow alongside them in future years. 

By utilizing their dunning features, we have also noticed a considerable improvement in our collections efforts without having to add more human hours to follow up efforts. 

Beyond the tool, their white glove implementation services and personnel make Ordway an easy choice. Our implementation specialist, Nicholas has been a rockstar helping us bring over all of our historical invoices, payments and revenue tie out to ensure that Ordway can be our source of record from inception to date.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

We made the choice to bring in all historical information to Ordway, which was performed by moving through a lot of manual report building and checks. A difficult problem to solve! Our implementation team was very helful with the process, and now that the information is included, it makes our annual reporting much more valuable.

We use Ordway every day. It is very user friendly and flexible to handle all our billing needs efficiently. The automated revenue recognition is super helpful. Ordway seamlessly integrates with other tools that we use.  

Also all staff members are great to work with. Our implementation manager is the best and they all get back to us very quickly if questions arise.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

I like how everything in it is intuitive. The customer support team that includes Nikhil and our account rep Sneha are the absolutely best. They get back to you quickly and are always helpful in making sure you have what you need. Sneha has gone out of her way to provide help, create reports for us, and walk us through different parts of the platform.
We use Ordway every day and the fact we were able to add notes into the system seamlessly and has been a game changer for us.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

The one thing I am not a fan of is their analytic reporting. It's a work in progress and while it will be great eventually, there are some bugs to work out.

Ordway is allowing us a central place to keep our notes, invoices, and dunning information.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

Ordway is amazingly easy to use and extremely flexible for all types of billing use cases. We have some complex deals and Ordway is able to handle them all. Also, it integrates with our other tools. All staff members are great to work with and extremely knowledgable; not only in the software, but billing best practices.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

A downside would be initial configuration, the implementation team will work with you until it's fully implemented to fit your use case. This is to be expected as billing is complex. But, again, the great implementation, customer success, and suport teams are there to support you.

**What problems is Ordway solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main challenge we had with previous billing and subscription management software was rigid configuration. Ordway is extremely flexible and can handle all our billing use cases and scenarios.

The Ordway team are experts in SaaS billing and truly understand the complexity of various usage-based billing models.  The Ordway solution provides tremendous flexibility to design and automate any billing plan we come up with in our Payments business including: complex tiered billing, minimum tiers and multi-service invoicing.

We have had no issues with Ordway in the 2+ years working with them.

**What problems is Ordway solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ordway is a replacement for our outdated, proprietary billing system which was built in-house.  Ordway's solution gives us total flexibility to design and automate various billing models tied to usage of our payment services.  Clients love that we are not tied to 1 or 2 billing models but can work with them to design a plan optimized for their business and budget.  Our monthly billing cycle is completely automated by Ordway and integrated to our preferred payment gateway.  The Ordway solution supports credit, debit and ACH payments as well as secure tokenization of all payment types.

As Ordway continues to develop and release new features, there can be some development bugs in new product offerings. They are resolved in a timely manner however.

Ordway solves our monthly usage billing and revenue recognition requirements. We assess usage on a monthly basis and using the Ordway platform, generate revenue journal entries to record in our GL system, and generate bills to customer while also accepting payments directly in Ordway.

We've been able to create a tailored billing experience for our business using a rich set of features. The integrations to Salesforce and stripe have been especially helpful in creating meaningful automations and workflows that distribute the administrative work to avoid growing the billing team.

Our business is complex and some of the nuances of what we need is not entirely covered by Ordway, but the team has been very helpful in thinking through creative solutions, which is great.

Ordway is able to handle a lot of different billing scenarios and edge-cases surrounding custom subscriptions and orders. The system also has great reporting capabilities and the ability to make any kind of custom report and dashboard. This really helps us manage our customer data and allows us to manage the health of our business. I also really like Ordway's support and appreciate the quick SLA times.

Because of how flexible and customizable the system is, there can be a steep learning curve some of the features. The platform is easy to use at a basic level, but to really get the most out of it, you'll have to put in the work to learn.

Ordway provides a solution to all of our SaaS billing scenarios. A lot of billing systems cannot handle the intricacies of SaaS billing and changes/renewals surrounding this.

It tracks subscriptions, their deferred revenue and unbilled accounts receivable to make sure the complete picture of TCV is in our books. We can customize and add multiple MRR streams that we can filter, drill, slice, etc...

The reporting and dashboard graph creations could use an update. It needs to be easier to make and we should be able to build graphs based on our sliced tables. I would like to see MRR/ARR activity have a filter to target a specific MRR business stream.

**Recommendations to others considering Ordway:**

It is worth the price for what we can get out of Ordway. Every SaaS tool will not have 100% of everything we want but Ordway allows to easily find hacks to fit our changing needs.

Our previous software didn't track subscriptions, so ordway solved it. The data in ordway is now passed through via webhooks to all of our other tools so we are looking and building reports from the same data. Ordway is our source of truth for LTV data.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

We use HubSpot Sales to capture contract details during our sales process. After a deal is closed, the information syncs to the Ordway platform and we can immediately send an accurate first invoice to the new customer. All the double entry and spreadsheet work we had in the past is gone. We’ve saved countless hours as our business continues to scale. In fact, the platform is reducing the need for a formal deal desk and we can focus our energy on more important things.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

It’s not a dislike, but we are still evaluating whether we will use Ordway’s quotes feature or stay with PandaDoc.

**What problems is Ordway solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Pre-Ordway, one of the main issues we were having was the inability to structure customer contracts and the associated billing with how the customer wanted to consume the product. Our customers are large organizations with certain processes or certain ways of buying. We always felt we were trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and having to bend the buying process to satisfy the billing system. Now, we are able to accommodate unique contracts and also make mid-term changes which was impossible before.

Ordway is well-designed for complex recurring revenue contracts.  We extensively use their APIs, especially their connections to Salesforce and our ERP.  What is exceptional is its audit trail.  Every transaction is recorded and its calculations exposed.   This helps us to debug complex changes in the contract and invoicing.

It's been a pretty reliable system - I don't have any negative things to say about it.

Ordway have automatized almost every invoice processes activity which have saved lot of manual interventions and optimized our billing cycle from 10 to 6 business days. Ordway is user friendly and easy to navigate. Ordway provides various useful reports for financial analysis and reporting.

**What do you like best about Ordway?**

The customer support. Using new enterprise software like this isn't always perfectly intuitive. I have questions, and I make mistakes. Ordway's support team is there to help. They respond quickly and teach me, so the next time, I can do things correctly myself.

Update: I have now used Ordway for 10+ months, and I rarely need to ask for help, and I use the software multiple times per day. I would say what I like best now is the flexibility of the system. I can pretty easily create subscriptions that are non-standard, with "odd" billing or revenue recognition. I also like their roadmap; each month, they roll out new features, and they're often things I didn't even know I wanted until I use them!

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

At first, it was the learning curve, but I am over the learning curve and think I'm a power user. Ordway is now offering more training and a more robust video library for all users. I think I like everything at this point!

**Recommendations to others considering Ordway:**

Definitely do it but know you'll face a learning curve. If you are billing subscriptions manually or are using a system that is not geared towards billing recurring revenue, this is a no-brainer. If you're working on automating as much of your finance/accounting function as possible, this is a great tool.

**What problems is Ordway solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Ordway for our recurring billing payments. It serves as our billing system and our system of record. It is linked to QuickBooks and automatically creates entries around billing, revenue recognition, payments, credits, etc. I used the records for a quality of earnings report (audit coming in 2Q22!), and the accountants were satisfied with our records.

The greatest benefit we've realized is that we've been able to scale with a skeleton finance/accounting staff. Ordway automates so much manual work!

Ordway has saved us a ton of time on manual billing and accounting work.  We've automated everything from invoicing, accounts receivable follow-up, payment collection, and revenue recognition.  Their integration with Salesforce has enabled us to connect accounts and opportunities and bring live customer data into Salesforce for the rest of the company to access.

Nothing, everything has been working as anticipated.

The biggest problems Ordway has allowed us to solve are cutting down the amount of hours required to manage invoicing clients, payment matching, A/R, renewals and revenue recognition.  We've been able to cut down on the manual hours required to manage our customer payments and focus more time on reporting and strategy.

Ordway team is awesome. Their platform allows me not to have to worry about invoicing and revenue recognition now, or in the future when we raise capital or audit our finances. And, their customer service has been solid.

Everything has gone smoothly so far. When we do have a feature or enhancement request, they follow-up quickly to let us know it's in the works or that they'll add it to the dev list, and they give us a workaround until then. That said, it seems like that "wish list" for us is really short.

We are solving billing and revenue recognition with Ordway. Using their platform has been a time and cost savings for us. When considering the cost and distraction it would have been to have our limited tech resources build a system for us and hiring someone to manage back-office infrastructure, it made sense.

I like how easy it is to use, whether you're looking for invoices, statements, payments or even the client's page. The client's full overview on one screen helps give us the snapshot we need into their history.  I also like that the Ordway team helps us customize the platform to fit our company.

As the company is still fairly new, there are some glitches. Sameer and the rest of the Ordway team are good at getting back to us in a timely manner, however it is an inconvience when the glitches occur.

One of the bigger problems we had was how the AR aging report was not pulling the correct information and filtering became an issue due to the field being case sensitive. They recently resolved this issue.

I like the API focus, and Ordway's iterative approach to improvements. They respond to our inquiries and support our initiatives. The Account Manager, Max, has been fantastic, along with all the other individuals I have interacted with. We had a quick delivery from initial demo to when we first got access to the product. Given the quick negotiation and the small team I had at SalesRabbit to implement it, we were able to get up and going fairly quickly.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

I would say that the only thing I have found frustrating was the payment processor we had to go with to use Ordway has underwhelmed expectations. Setup and UI have both been less then helpful. There were some errors on import (not due to Ordway, but the payment processor and so part of the whole experience) that almost caused serious consequences.

**Recommendations to others considering Ordway:**

I would really look to understand the value of API and the financial implications of your revenue type as a company. Different industries have different needs to become GAAP compliant, and understanding how billing can be automated AND accounted for correctly from the outset will save you a lot of time.

Automation and GAAP-compliant processes in the same solution. That's what we wanted and what we are getting. We are able to customize more sales contracts and also work with product to understand how we can generate new revenue streams.

Our implementation was very difficult and we ran into some significant challenges at the end in particular. There are major limitations around QBO posting which we didn't find out until the end.

There is no easy way to re-run failed payments, the system is designed more like a CRM than an architecture resembling something you would want to look at from a high-level view.  There isn't an easy way to view everything holistically - it's on an an individual customer or subscription level.

**Recommendations to others considering Ordway:**

Ordway is a great option for small businesses to move from manual billing (keeping track on spreadsheets, creating individual invoices, not really have any sort of billing management tool, etc.) in order to scale.  If you are unsure about trusting automation to do the work for you, Ordway's customization allows you to operate from no automation to full automation and everything in between.  That gives you the ability to work with "training wheels," so to speak, until you are comfortable enough with the system to let it run on its own.

Before Ordway, we were running payments individually (and manually) through Stripe on a daily basis.  Ordway was able to help us scale our business from all billing being manual to being able to run multiple invoices and payments at the same time.  This was a far cry from keeping track of everything on spreadsheets before, which was VERY time consuming and not always accurate.  Ordway's integration with our system has allowed us to further close the gap on the margin for human error.

We can control online all invoices and also create new ones. In addition, the reports are very accurate and we can calculate from external software the hours worked and implement them - so we save a lot of time when creating invoices.

**What do you dislike about Ordway?**

Unfortunately, the integration of our bank accounts is not possible automatically - this is probably just for security reasons. Hopefully this will be possible in the future.

Our administrative staff will be able to invoice our customers faster and save time thanks to the implementation of our debits, as the work done will be listed automatically. The reports are very accurate and can of course be downloaded and saved.
