What do you like best?

The customer service is outstanding. Everyone is knowledgeable and efficient. Answers to questions, problems, and requests are received very quickly.

The flow of the platform is great and easy to use.

We went live with Ascentis on Jan 1st, 2020 and it was by far the easiest implementation and transition I have experienced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The payroll processing and importing from our current ERP is easy but a bit lengthy. We have more manual steps involved than our previous provider. However, I would not let that deter anyone from moving to Ascentis. They are ways to make it work well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

We currently use the cloud-based variation of Ascentis HR. It is used throughout our company as it houses all of our employees' information documents, as well as we use the web-based self-service item to allow employees to request their vacations and time off, view their time off readily available for consultation and also a type of intranet for company ads. What do you dislike?

Although this is practically a cloud-based system, it is actually running on RDS hosts, so accessing and using the back end part is much more complicated than having it installed in your area or using an Internet-based version of same. I believe that their costs are a little high compared to some other online offers. Large companies would probably feel that using Ascentis would not be an affordable choice. Recommendations to others considering the product:

Human Resources Ascentis is best suited for small to moderate size companies. It comes with enough basic offers to keep most employees in this type of company satisfied. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The item is supported by a group of personnel control workers, many of whom are at Ascentis for effective work, making the support and interaction with them seem quite rewarding and also constantly personal and close to a problem. The final part of Ascentis HR is as easy to use as the employee's contact side. Our HR group has no problem obtaining information or obtaining system logs. What do you like best?

As a growing company, we chose that we needed an integrated system. Ascentis allowed us to do our own recruitment, integration, Human Resources administration, that is, benefits, remuneration, etc., worker self-service, plus our means to make payment. The execution was longer than expected, but the system works with a lot of possibility. Customer support is really helpful and also responsive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It would behave if the benefits were transferred to the payment in the same way as the changes in the payroll. I have to insert additional ones in the payment statement and, later, so that the documents are reinitialized in Ascentis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The program constantly has software adjustments that can be made. In Recruitment, there are no built-in benchmark features, so this must be done manually outside the system. With the volume of hires we make, we simply don't have time to do this effectively. I use Human Resources and also Pay-roll. I find the HR reports and spreadsheets on Income and payment confusing. The media they align just doesn't work very well, and it's still essential for me to maintain my own spreadsheets. With this program everything is made easier. What do you like best?

We apply Ascentis HR, to help combine many manual jobs directly into one location digitally so that our workflow is constant. In fact, we realized that we included the efficiency and competitiveness modules for our goals to be achieved, in addition to recruitment. And our assignments and demands have shown many benefits at specific points, as the program maintains the circulation of information from place to place with relative convenience and operations behind the scenes. What do you dislike?

In fact, recruitment is testing for us, because we do a lot of temporary hiring, and we also intend to use the system to capture voluntary requests along with full-time hiring. Recommendations to others considering the product:

Although the hiring module itself is challenging to obtain the means we need, relocating candidates to HR has saved a lot of time as it has been fully incorporated. Everything works well for each other, just as the support solution groups for all components are superior. It usually offers extraordinary support when our team requests it, however, I don't think it is always the problem of the support team as high as the system constraints when conflict arises. What do you like best?

LMS is fairly easy to maneuver, add courses, assign, etc. We don't use all features but it meets our needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Not a great way to add custom comments about performance. Ex. no way to document a specific meeting with an employee for performance. To give managers access to Notes we would have to give them more access to HR than what we want to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The ease of using the product. I like that we can track evaluations and licenses in the same system instead of using two different systems. This system makes information flow easier to payroll. Take your time during your implementation to ask any questions you can think of. It really helped us that we had more than two people on our implementation team because that diversified our questions and we ultimatley got the help we needed before even starting. What do you like best?

All of the sales and demo team were very attentive to our questions and needs. They really understood our long term care business needs and individual experts in each module conducted the demo of their area of expertise. They were happy to meet with different members of our user team several times, even after the demos, to answer additional questions and present certain aspects of the Ascentis system again. What do you like best?

Throughout a change, we had an issue where there was nobody in the firm that had the SQL data source password, which was required in order to draw over historic data. Ascentis technology group functioned tirelessly and also were able to get right into the data source and make a smooth transition of the data.The cloud availability is terrific for technology firms that do not always conduct every one of their organisation in one place. I need more dates to come over from Ascentis HR to Ascentis Payroll. We need dates for multiple items that we have to create ourselves and enter the data ourselves instead of it coming across from the Ascentis HR. Absolutely!!!! You will LOVE the support that you will get from everyone there at Ascentis and NOVAtime!! I highly recommend them to everyone!! What do you like best?

Ascentis HR is a great remedy for a human resources division to go paperless. The software is user-friendly and also you have the capability to customize it to fulfill your demands. What do you like best?

The prior Novatime/new Ascentis staff are still amazing. They work with you to make sure you get what you need and that the system works for your company. They have consistently had a great attitude even through the challenges with the merge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The customer service was great for our first few years then when Ascentis merged with Novatime everything went wrong on the customer side of things. The last year or so has been a real challenge. Recruiting is the weakest model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I hate that time system is a separate desktop. I hate that I can't have the direct deposit form as part of the new hire paperwork, and the uploading of employee documents is a pain in the behind, as well as saving reports to the Ascentis system and then having to pull them from Ascentis and save on my desktop. It's not efficient and really clunky. Some of your customer service folks are great, but some have a hard time answering what I feel is an easy question and I get put on hold for them to ask a HR Specialist, who is usually on the phone and they have to call me back. Not a fan that salary employees request time off differently than hourly employees. It's confusing to have two different ways to request time off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Look at the process for uploading documents into an employees "file" - it is wonky, clunky and not easy. Additionally, to save a report for example, it has to be save on their server (same as a document for an employee file) and then copied to your network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

for us the upside is that we will have HR information and Payroll information in one organized and real-time location. In terms of the role Ascentis plays, the system is not fully implemented so difficult to comment on at this time. The team leads have been so kind, patient and excel in customer service, even during the initial phases when the implementation process was not going well. I also think the NOVA time product will be a wonderful system for us because it will streamline our processes and provide automated compliance. I think it's too early to comment on though in terms of my preferences with the system. Although, customer service in client support is 100% better than with my previous vendor. eveyone goes above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable and statisfied with each process and step. What do you dislike?

Implementation initially was uniquely challenging and we were handed off several times throughout to various new team leads. Eventually, this process improved significantly, but initially this was slightly disastrous and did not instill confidence. The system seemed a little clunky in that there are too many platforms to log into and it was confusing during implementation. It would be nice to have one interface and one login. it's a bit overwhelming the information and implementation is not a place to be fully immersed in learning the system. What do you like best?

I love that their support is always on top of my needs. I have called or emailed whenever I have an issue, and they usually follow up within a few hours, or the next day at the latest. Even if they cannot fix the issue currently, they explain why the issue cannot currently be resolved, and send the information to their development team to get the issue fixed in the future. What do you dislike?

There are only small issues with Ascentis that I have seen so far. I want to be able to send my employees emails but it only works if they have a work email address. I want to change the titles of some of the sections (change 'Family Members' to 'Dependents'), and other similar small issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

If you are currently doing paper applications and paper onboarding, this system is a lifesaver! The same with Open Enrollment! I have so much fewer papers to file, and the digital enrollment leaves a smaller chance at an error. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We used to use a paper filing system and had all of our employee information kept in Excel files. When someone was hired or termed, I would have to enter (or remove) the information in 6 different spreadsheets! It was ridiculous! I am just now going through our first open enrollment with Ascentis, and it has made my life so much easier! I have no filing and I can quickly check who has completed it. What do you like best?

Ascentis has been upgrading many features and migrating them to the web over the last year or so, which makes it easy to access everything, process payroll, make changes, manage time, etc. while on the go. The system is very easy to use and navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Payroll processing - Ascentis has decreased our payroll processing time from three days down to four hours total.

Compliance - Ascentis has great solutions for compliance including tax service, ACA reporting, EEOC reporting, etc.

Employee self service - Our employees now have a secure place they can view and download any of their information and make changes on their own without requiring a paper form.

Timekeeping - We used to track everything via paper timesheets, so the Timekeeper solution with Ascentis has allowed us to move everything electronically. This helps with compliance and accuracy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I love the flexibility the system provides as well as the supporting service when we encounter problems. Payroll is also a breeze. We are offered a lot of flexibility and functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The reporting feature on the server is functional but clunky. I also think being able to access individual profile online instead of through the server is a great idea. Right now though the online profile is not a robust and is a little slower.

What do you like best?

Up front commitments were honored throughout the conversion process. Like the conversion process. It was outlined with specific steps and timelines. The conversion process is designed to force the user to learn the system. Most conversion I have been through are the company asked for the data, loads it into the system, and turns if over - a turnkey approach. Ascentis makes you do the work to set up and load the system. What do you dislike?

Few downsides. We found it could not do some things that we were use to or wanted. The biggest thing are reminders to employees to do certain things is not possible if you customize the employee self serve. Still working on that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ask all questions that you have before you sign on the dotted line. Be aware that the workbooks you need to complete for each module are very time consuming but necessary to get it right. What do you like best?

Ascentis has worked hard to improve their product in many ways over the past six to twelve months. In particular, the most needed for us, was the reporting capabilities. In addition, they have a diverse collection of training videos, which are very helpful when bringing on a new employee, especially as an HR or Payroll Administrator. When I started with my organization three+ years ago, we were having several issues with Ascentis and I worked tirelessly with a few account managers but didn't get anywhere, until I spoke with one account manager, Amanda Qualizza! Amanda was determined to solve our account problems. She changed my opinion on Ascentis and now I am writing this review. What do you like best?

Creating the ESS Dashboard is great. I do wish there was a more in-depth class to help me learn more than just the basics on how to do more things on the dashboard, or how to make the dashboard a little nicer looking - but what I have learned to create for the employees has really been terrific. What do you dislike?

I dislike the HR Reporting the most. I don't find it to be "user friendly". When selecting criteria, it doesn't seem to PULL the correct data sometimes, especially when searching for Benefits things. I also don't feel that it allows the user to select the "needed" information using criteria that a user needs to "use" --- the "and" and "or" functions when trying to link the criteria that you are looking to get out of it. Recommendations to others considering the product:

My employees have really liked getting to know the ESS dashboard and what it offers. We use their Novatime/Timekeeper system, and they have liked that a lot also (requesting PTO time, etc).
