What do users say?

Generated using AI from real user reviews
Users most consistently praise SharePoint's centralized document management and its seamless Microsoft 365 integration, which let teams store, share, and co-edit files in one place while keeping everyone on the latest version. Reviewers value the strong version control, secure access, and smooth collaboration across Teams, Outlook, and OneDrive. The most common drawback is a steep learning curve, with setup, permissions, and navigation feeling complex for new users.

"Shared Cloud Documentation Repository That Keeps Our Team Aligned"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

Having a shared repository where our team can keep all our documentation is very helpful. It’s also great to be able to save everything to the cloud automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

The permissions setup is a bit tricky. To share a document, you can’t just send the link—you also have to grant permissions to each user. When I want to share a document across the organization, it’s sometimes hard to tell who already has access and who doesn’t. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy File Sharing and Real-Time Collaboration, Plus an Internal Intranet"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

I like that you can store files and share them easily with people on your team. I also like the ability to create an internal intranet and keep things accessible there. It helps that it’s a common brand, so people are at least familiar with what it is. Finally, I like that it’s similar to Google Drive and that you can collaborate on documents in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

For me, it has always felt hard to use. In the past, I’ve had trouble finding my files, and I’ve basically had to star them in my favorites and locate them that way, rather than navigating through the entire SharePoint folder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Integration with Flexible Extensions"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

Its incorporation to overall Microsoft suite, additional extensions and plug-ins, easy integration with multiple tools we generally use in the corporation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

There are some UX things to improve - like document label and property changes - some of those are "laggy" and feel inconsistent with changes that are/were done by other users in parallel. Resolving conflicts is more or less okay in general, but there's definitely room for improvement in document versioning and collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"An occasional user who mainly accesses documents and shared information."
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

As an occasional user, Microsoft SharePoint is a useful platform for storing and sharing documents within a team. As an occasional user, I mainly use it to access files and shared information, and it works well for that purpose. I like that it integrates easily with other Microsoft tools such as Teams and Outlook, which makes collaboration more convenient. However, the platform can feel a bit complex and not very intuitive for users who don’t use it regularly. Some features seem unnecessary for basic tasks, and navigation can take time to get used to. Overall, it is a solid tool for collaboration, but it has a learning curve for new or infrequent users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

Not much, but it sometimes can feel complex or overwhelming at first, as there are too many features for simple needs, and navigation can be confusing. But nothing major in all honesty. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great for Collaboration across organization"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

It’s easy to share content across teams and the wider organisation. Managing groups and online documents in SharePoint is straightforward, and the integration with Teams and Outlook works really well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

It doesn’t support direct editing for a few file formats, and it can sometimes get slow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Microsoft Integration for Collaborative, Organized Documentation"
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

It’s a seamless documentation platform that works smoothly with the rest of the Microsoft products, making it a great place for both collaboration and keeping documentation organized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

My only complaint is that with Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Channels, and all the different places where “Teams” can collaborate, it becomes really difficult to figure out what works best and then use it consistently. Otherwise, you end up with content scattered across multiple locations and start to feel fatigued trying to track down your artifacts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Collaboration and Reliable Access with SharePoint"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

What I appreciate most about Microsoft SharePoint is its user-friendly design. In our company, we depend on it every day, and even those who are new to the platform can easily find their way around with minimal training. SharePoint acts as a central hub for sharing important information, documents, and updates, which greatly streamlines our collaboration and makes it more efficient. Additionally, its reliability stands out—we rarely encounter any downtime, so we always have uninterrupted access to our files, keeping our workflow steady and dependable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

One aspect I dislike about Microsoft SharePoint is that the overall experience is greatly influenced by how it is managed. There are times when our SharePoint administrators fail to organize information effectively into well-structured pages, which results in content being scattered and difficult to locate. In these situations, finding specific documents or information becomes confusing and takes much longer, despite the platform’s potential for excellent organization. "Exceptional Content Management and Collaboration with SharePoint"
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

SharePoint’s main advantage lies in its ability to manage structured content with a high degree of control. Features such as version history and check-in/check-out (when necessary) support collaborative work. The use of metadata, content types, and document libraries further enhances organization and retrieval. Additionally, retention labels and records management, especially when integrated with Purview, help ensure compliance. Permissions can also be tailored to meet the specific security requirements of an organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

SharePoint is much more than a basic file-sharing tool; it serves as a comprehensive enterprise content platform. When people use it merely as a cloud-based shared drive, it often leads to confusion and disorganization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Real-Time File Sharing for Our Remote Team"
4/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

Microsoft SharePoint allows for sharing of files easily, allowing people to work on the documents and see updates in real-time. It's relatively easy to use; our team uses it daily as we are a fully remote organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

Setting up the sharing of files has not been very easy and the implementation has been difficult, even when using the steps provided by customer support. There are some things built in that cause some difficulties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simplified Collaboration and Centralized Management with SharePoint"
5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

What I particularly appreciate about Microsoft SharePoint is its ability to centralize all information and documents in one place, while making collaborative work simpler. The platform offers secure sharing, efficient version management, and quick access to data for all teams, which saves time and improves daily efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

What I find disappointing with Microsoft SharePoint is that the interface sometimes lacks clarity, especially when the structure of libraries and access rights management leave something to be desired. Searching for documents can then prove to be complicated and time-consuming if the organization is not sufficiently rigorous. Moreover, some features are not always easy to use for people who only access them occasionally. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
