"Not User-Friendly and Too Rigid Compared to Google Workspace"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

I like the option to link out of various documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

I am not a fan of sharepoint because it is not user friendly and requires the user to be logged into microsoft. It seems like a rigid user experience compared to something like google workspace which is very easy to collaborate on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful for document sharing, but not the most intuitive"
2/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

Microsoft Sharepoint allows my team and I to fairly easily share and access shared documents, allowing for better collaboration across our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

Our team also uses Google Workspace alongside Microsoft 365, and converting Google documents and files to Microsoft can be difficult. It's not always the most intuitive tool to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Difficult to navigate, bad layout, expensive to administer"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

Since it is in the Microsoft environment, it naturally works with other tools. It follows teams and groups from your M365 environment. Lists are a nice feature to keep track and sort live data with multiple users. If you have very simple data needs and minimal folders, SharePoint might work for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

It has odd navigation and is overall not intuitive or easy to use. The spread out, web page style layout makes conceptualizing folder structure almost impossible. It is not an organized folder system, more like a spiderweb of individual sites and pages. It is expensive to administer and set up because you need a highly trained tech admin to maintain it. Setting up permissions is confusing, and it is easy to overshare data because so many factors can share the site. For example, we stripped out a lot of permissions, but users were still able to access the sites if they had them synced to OneDrive. Therefore, I do not have confidence that SharePoint is secure enough. When viewing files on a site, SharePoint only shows 30 items at a time in a list, which leads to confusion on the site contents. You have to scroll down and wait for more items to reload. There it is slow to use. SharePoint has an identity crisis of whether it is a web page, a collaborative site, or a data server, so it is not great at any of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Clunky to Use, and Sharing Limits Make It Hard to Collaborate"
2/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

It is a shared resource aross our organisation, usefull for updating policies etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

I find it very cluncky. Also the limitation of only having access to those in the org to view items is quite limiting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Hard to Find and Organize Content, Despite Microsoft Integration"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

Integrated with other microsoft products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

It’s difficult to find content, and it’s also hard to control where other users place it—for example, whether it ends up in private vs. shared areas, or in the right subfolders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"useful for file sharing, hard to manoeuvre."
1.5/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

The storage solutions, the organization that is detailed. The idea of connecting your one drive and synchronizing files so you can see them on your files manager via folder, lots of our users enjoy this feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

The access to files. I find the navigation of the SharePoint website so arduous, it's never simple I can never find what I find and I often end up having to figure out sneaky ways to get to a folder and then backtrack to the actual folder I wanted. The web navigation is very subpar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Use Google Drive instead"
2/5
What do you like best about Microsoft SharePoint?

It does allow you to save things in one spot for everyone to access and update changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft SharePoint?

- doesn't work well on macs

- not as easy to use as Google Drive

- often crashes and won't let you save updates you make

- depending on the tool it can change if you're editing in the browser or app version

- harder to find items compared to Google, thus causing people to work on a version locally and lose changes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Worked well enough as a storage solution and allowed multiple collaborators Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
