"Virtual project management"

What do you like best?

I really like how wide this tool is, it is incredible the management capacity that it has of the projects, and not only that but the way in which tasks can be divided, and the alerts with respect to the different deliveries, without a doubt It is the best project or task management tool I know. I really like that it offers diagrams of flows that are very visual to update the status of the project, it helps a lot for self-motivation and determination to complete projects as soon as possible. The details of the tasks can be very specific and offers some reports that are usually very useful at the time of showing or present that what has been done so far.

What do you dislike?

I think the only bad thing is the cost of subscriptions, but outside of that I think it's an excellent tool, even to manage physical and infrastructure projects.

Recommendations to others considering the product

You can try the free version and in this way determine if this tool can be useful for what you need although in terms of project management is the best.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have benefited a lot from this tool because it has allowed me to manage the project at any time, to do it through this tool and to have all the professionals constantly update the progress of the project and in this way I will present the advances to the superiors, it is incredible how intuitive is the tool and how capable it is, I feel that it has many functions including many of which I have not been able to enjoy yet, but without doubt there are people whose demands go all the way there.

What Project Management solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"Workflow and broader relationship in the project organization."

What do you like best?

The way of working is very fluid, creating your own work station under a branch for your section in the project makes a project more organized with really fascinating structures, if I want to visualize the annotations of another member within the project I can have a view more spacious on the branches with the label of the names that are collaborating and the best has a free version.

What do you dislike?

The only negative would be that if you give permission to a user they can modify one of your branches or section, so you must warn them not to touch your section, it would be a great idea to be able to grant writing permissions within the workspace of each user.

Recommendations to others considering the product

It is always good to have an organized environment in which you can more easily make the report and the implications of your work.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The overall view of this project manager is very efficient, I can control and observe the workflow of the users added to the project without the need to see each of them individually.

"Best for a Company Looking for Improvement"

What do you like best?

Customization workflow management project setup and support. Allows for easy user setup and plugin support for many tools helping resolved problems with tracking and root cause analysis documentation of bugs and screenshots. Ease of use for collaboration and linking with automation. Requires little to no training to be able to customize the tool for any organization.

What do you dislike?

Dislike the bloated nature sometimes issues with plugins some plugins don't work and the plugin publisher lacks support when you need it all publishers of plugins should be forced to a standard provide by Atlassian. Integration with tools outside of the Atlassian realm can use improvement working with more products out on the market. Also formatting of comments or description area of an issue can use improvement and ease.

Recommendations to others considering the product

Opt for cloud management of the tool as it will save time which in turn will save money with managing the tool performance.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Solving problems with accountability organizing creating dashboards or progress made on issues. Solved issues with linking defects to a requirement link to automated test cases that create defects and link to the correct developers. Solving communication issues sometimes requirements were not updated but with making comments and linking business analysts to those requirements that required updates or questions specific to the requirement. Allow for collaboration from the business to approve a requirement before it goes into development.

"Implementing at our company"

What do you like best?

I have used another version of Jira in the past and this is much easier to use. I really like that it is web based with tons of documentation on how to do things. I also like the templates for different types of projects. I'm still learning how to use them all but so far they fit our needs well.

What do you dislike?

The hardest thing to work with are the setting screens that open on top of what you are working on . It's difficult to know what you are changing or what the setting was previously because I can't move the screen. Another annoying piece is needing to use the Jira specific language to do customizations. It's close enough to html and css I don't know why Atlassian didn't just go with those.

Recommendations to others considering the product

I have used the server based version of Jira in the past and it didn't take me long to learn that system. My company has installed the cloud system with Service Desk and Confluence. I didn't do the installation so I can't speak to ease of installation but learning to use the system and learning how to administrate it has been amazingly simple. There is a lot of documentation available and it can take some time to wade through it all but I have been able to find what I am looking for without spending hours in forums.. It has taken me less than a work week to learn the administration and basic tools available to set up workflows. It's taking a little longer to learn to use the tools in Confluence.

What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are setting up a help desk ticketing system as our company has grown to where we need one. We also want to move our documentation from a free for all file sharing system to something more structured. We are using Confluence on top of Jira Core to create web pages for all our documents.

"Convenient and timesaving management software"

What do you like best?

My business team uses JiraCore to cater to organizations and businesses in different industries like human resource, operations, marketing, legal and finance. Also, this software is excellent in building essentials and test traceability using the interaction with other tools. It is flexible while collaborating well with other tools used in product management. Personally, it has helped me to get the final project management view in each sprint from the scrum team level straight to the control of the project teams live.

What do you dislike?

Other tools involved can be integrated into the Jira core software instead of having it in a different server which forces us to buy any other add-on tier which should precisely match the max level of the Jira core applications that is licensed. This mostly applies to the X-ray.
