**What do you like best about Google Analytics?**

I use Google Analytics to track all of our web traffic, both organically and sponsored, which allows me to monitor and gauge the lifespan of my promotions on my website and assess how my sales funnel is performing. It helps me be proactive, not reactive. It takes the guesswork out of looking for our relevant audience and helps with evaluating and implementing keyword iterations where needed. I like the dashboards' functionality and ability to customize, and the integration of AI tools is a huge plus. The AI keyword and ad generators save me a ton of time writing ads that gain traction. I also enjoy being able to monitor everything from my mobile device, which allows me to be agile with my marketing decisions. The Ad Generators save me time and help me be more productive rather than editing and rewriting ad after ad. The initial setup was pretty easy.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

I don't love that it is constantly pushing for automating everything, which often results in an increased spend without good reasoning behind it. I'm specifically looking at the recommendations, which feels like a constant upsell.

Unlike Google Search Console, Google Analytics is not at all user friendly nor easy to navigate. One needs to go through tutorials, youtube videos, guides to perform operations, set up reports, etc. At times, data can be skewed, incomplete or be different from the data on search tools

Honestly, what I like most about Google Analytics is its ability to transform a huge amount of data into truly actionable insights. We don't just look at numbers but understand user behavior, where they come from, what they view, and when they leave the site. I also appreciate its flexibility. You can use it quite simply to get an overview, but also delve deeply into user journey analysis and conversions. It's a tool that evolves with your level. It might seem a bit intimidating at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes really powerful and interesting to use.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

What I like less is clearly the initial handling. The interface can be quite confusing, especially with recent versions like GA4, where one can quickly feel lost among the reports, events, and the logic that is less intuitive than before. There's also the fact that some data is less "straightforward" than one might hope. For example, between privacy issues, user consent, and changes on the browser side, we don't always have a 100% complete or reliable view.

Although GA4 is powerful, the overall experience now requires more time to learn and use efficiently than the previous version.S

We can show how certain customer journeys may require more touch points than others and provide a visualization of the way multi-channel marketing achieves more than one path can alone. Google Analytics functions exceptionally well for an agency managing multiple clients, with aggregate settings that allow for easy integration with clients. The initial setup was easy.

While the insights are fantastic, the UI is daunting for clients, and even some times for specialists who work across campaign builds and reporting. We have to build custom Looker Studio dashboards for clients just to simplify the GA data into something clients can digest.

I love the exploration features in Google Analytics because it allows me to build pivot tables, funnel visualizations, and path analysis that were impossible in the old version. The event-based models are also great since they mean I can track anything as an event, giving me custom visibility. I'm not limited to category, action, label anymore. I also appreciate that I can build audiences, like those likely to churn in seven days, and immediately put them in Google Ads to save those customers.

The transition was a nightmare. The UI is hostile. For a casual user, it's terrible. Simple reports like landing pages or traffic source are hidden deep in menus or require manual construction. It's not pick up and play like the old version. And data thresholding. This is the most annoying feature. If I drill down too deep, example, looking at a specific campaign with few clicks, Google Analytics hides the data to protect privacy. Showing me zeros even when I know there were visits.

I like Google Analytics because it's easy to use for me, and if I'm ever confused about a particular functionality, I can find answers online. There are always resources or videos available, which makes solving issues easier compared to other tools that aren't as widely used or are more expensive.

For the report section, one thing that I find very annoying is that you don't have the data pass for the team. A lot of the time when you're creating such reports, you would want that data to be easily available for you and Google Analytics 4, unfortunately, doesn't do that.

The new Google Analytics is much improved and is more opinionated about how to track and setup up properties which makes it much easier to use and ensure the data is correct. Dashboards have improved but knowledge is still required to get it working well. The UI is more performant and you can't beat the price.

Still challenges with getting the data we need due to how charts are built in the UI. The anonymisation of a lot of data makes it difficult to use as a products metrics tool and instead focuses on anon traffic. Inbound reports from SEO results could also be more meaningful and detailed.

I like that Google Analytics is easy to set up and easy to read. The setup is straightforward, especially through GTM. I appreciate the pre-designed reports that provide insights into user behavior, engagement, and the ecommerce journey. It also helps me understand the revenue and purchase funnel, and offers information on how my paid activities perform.

Simplify the user journey. It is the most difficult thing to read in Google Analytics. There are other tools like Amplitude that have a great user journey report. That is easy to read and understand. Every node and every drop has a clear understanding of how users behaved on the website.

What I like best about Google Analytics is the depth of insights it provides into user behavior across the entire customer journey. It allows us to track traffic sources, user engagement, and conversions in one place, helping us make data-driven marketing decisions. The real-time reporting, customizable dashboards, and seamless integration with other Google products like Google Ads and Search Console make it especially powerful for performance analysis and optimization.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

The downside of GA is its learning curve, especially with GA4. The interface and reporting structure are not very intuitive at first, and finding specific metrics or building custom reports can take time. Some standard reports that were easily accessible in Universal Analytics now require extra configuration, and sampling or data discrepancies can occasionally make analysis less straightforward.

Google Analytics remains an indispensable, free powerhouse for tracking user behavior, traffic sources, and conversion data. Its smooth integration with tools like Google Ads makes it a must-have for anyone serious about optimizing their digital presence.

That said, the steep learning curve of the GA4 interface, along with frequent data-processing delays, can be especially frustrating for beginners. Overall, it’s a powerful and essential tool for data-driven growth, as long as you have the patience to work through its more complex setup and navigation.

**What do you dislike about Google Analytics?**

My biggest complaint with Google Analytics is its notoriously unintuitive interface and steep learning curve. I often find that you have to build custom "Explorations" just to see basic traffic data that used to be available by default. That frustration is compounded by standard data-processing delays of 24 to 48 hours, which can get in the way of timely, real-time decision-making. On top of that, the setup process is highly complex, especially when you’re trying to configure everything correctly to manage global privacy compliance.

It addresses the massive problem of digital blindness by transforming raw website interactions into clear, actionable insights about user acquisition, behavior, and conversions. It is the definitive source of truth for all of our website traffic data.

Let's be honest, the user experience is a real challenge. The interface feels like it was designed for data scientists, not for the marketers and business owners who rely on it daily. Finding specific data points often feels like a treasure hunt. While the tool is powerful, you have to fight the interface to unlock that power, which is a significant and unnecessary drain on time and energy.

**What problems is Google Analytics solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Analytics is the central nervous system of our digital marketing. It solves the fundamental business problem of understanding what is happening on our website. It allows us to answer critical questions: Where is our traffic coming from? What content are users engaging with? Where are they dropping off in the conversion funnel? The primary benefit is that we can move from making decisions based on hunches to making them based on hard data, which directly impacts our ability to optimize marketing spend, improve user experience, and drive revenue.
