I love how Podium has been a game changer for our HVAC business. It helps us respond to customers instantly, even when we miss calls, which has increased our job sales. The text feature is incredible and the auto response from the AI is perfect for handling multiple calls or text messages. Phone line could be better; they often come in choppy, and sometimes we have to hang up from the customer and call again. Just better reception.

**What do you like best about Podium?**

I like Podium for its variety of features for routing incoming calls, which has been especially helpful when we're shorthanded. The phone call recording and transcript features are essential for us in the insurance world to avoid misunderstandings. I used the transcript feature just the other day to clarify a customer's coverage request. The central location for customer communication with phone recording and transcripts is also a big plus.

**What do you dislike about Podium?**

I think it is more of an EZLynx issue but it does not integrate with Podium. Also Podium's tech support is not always the quickest to provide answers and neither is our customer success rep. It would be great if they had a steady employment model, we've had a variety of customer success reps. One point of contact would be nice. They also do not support the Yealink T57W which we use, although they said it's compatible and it does work for us but they will not support it. Lastly, they need to improve the phone reports section, especially for things like hold times. The initial setup was a little messy because they did not notify us when we would be making the switch so our phones just went offline.

I use Podium for centralizing customer communication, with features like phone call recording and transcripts. It helps resolve disputes by providing proof of past conversations. The call routing feature is also useful when we're shorthanded.

**What do you like best about Podium?**

What I appreciate most about Podium is how it brings order to what would otherwise be a scattered communication setup. Earlier, we had to keep track of calls, emails, and messages across different platforms, and it honestly got messy during peak hours. With Podium, everything lands in one place, so it’s easier to stay on top of conversations without missing anything important.
One thing that genuinely stands out in everyday use is how naturally conversations can progress. You might start by answering a simple query over text, and within the same thread, move toward sharing details, confirming something, and even handling a payment. It doesn’t feel forced “system-driven” it just flows like a normal interaction, which makes the experience better for both sides.
From a team perspective, it also helps maintain continuity. If someone else needs to step in, they can quickly understand the context without asking around. That consistency reflects well on the business, especially when dealing with multiple customers at once.

There are still moments where things could be a bit more flexible or customisable , but overall, it’s one of those tools that quietly improves how work gets done without adding unnecessary complexity.

**What do you dislike about Podium?**

One downside I’ve noticed with Podium is the pricing it can feel a bit heavy, especially if you’re not using every feature regularly. For smaller teams or tighter budgets, the cost combined with contract commitments can make you think twice. It’s not that the platform isn’t useful, but you do start questioning the value if your usage is limited or uneven.
Another thing that comes up in day-to-day use is the constant flow of messages. Since everything runs through SMS, it can sometimes feel like there’s no real “off” switch. If boundaries aren’t set properly, it’s easy for notifications to pile up and become a bit overwhelming, especially during busy periods.

Integration is another area where things aren’t always as smooth as expected. If you’re working with older systems or specific industry tools, syncing everything perfectly can take some effort. At times, we’ve had to manually cross-check or re-enter information, which kind of defeats the purpose of saving time.
Also, while the review feature does help increase ratings, many responses tend to be just quick star ratings without much written feedback. That’s good for overall scores, but not always as helpful when someone wants detailed insights before making a decision.

**What problems is Podium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In my evryday work around automotive documentation, I’ve seen Podium make a noticeable difference in how technical information is shared with customers.In most workshops, there’s always a gap between what technicians document and what the customer actually understands. Detailed diagnostics, service procedures, or internal notes usually stay inside the system, and by the time it’s explained to the customer, it gets simplified a lot. That’s where confusion or hesitation tends to come in especially for higher-cost repairs. Podium helps reduce that gap by letting you bring parts of that information directly into the conversation, in a way that still feels simple and approachable.
What stands out in practice is how easily we can add context when it’s needed. Instead of trying to explain everything over a call, we can share a quick photo of a worn-out component or a short video showing the issue. Even a brief explanation alongside that makes a big difference. Customers don’t feel like they’re being told they can actually see what’s going on, which builds a bit more trust naturally.
It also changes how approvals happen. When customers clearly understand the issue, decisions are usually quicker, and there’s less back-and-forth. You don’t have to keep repeating the same explanation, and it reduces delays in the workflow. From a practical standpoint, that helps keep things moving during busy hours.
Another useful aspect is the record it creates. Every explanation, shared image, and approval stays in the conversation thread. Later on, if there’s any confusion or follow-up, you can refer back to it instead of starting from scratch. It also adds a level of clarity for the team anyone can step in and understand what was already discussed without relying on memory.

Of course, it doesn’t replace proper documentation tools or technical systems—you still need those for detailed records and processes. But as a layer on top, it works well. It makes communication more transparent, reduces misunderstandings, and overall makes interactions with customers feel smoother

Podium is helping us gather our Google reviews.  It's so easy for the field or office staff to click on the template and hit send after discussing with the homeowner.  It also allows us a great, no pressure way to follow up on our contracts that are up for renewal.

I love the transcript of the recorded messages and that more than one employee can see the text feed that comes in from the customers. I love the good support that we get from the reps. I also love being able to use it for taking payments from customers. It allows me to communicate efficiently and smoothly with my customers, and my productivity is greater. I also found the initial setup to be very easy.

**What do you dislike about Podium?**

That you can't add more than 1 phone number for each customer and that I cannot do a text chat with 2 people ( such as a husband and wife) together. Sometimes I would like to tell them both some detail & have them both give feedback.

I love Podium's texting feature, as it’s very convenient for customers who can text easily and conveniently about conversations, reviews, payments, photos, and more. It’s particularly useful when homeowners can send pictures or videos if there’s an issue with the HVAC system for technicians to view prior to visits. I appreciate having everything in one space, where all chats from everyone in the office and technicians are together, and I can see previous conversations. The ease of sending payment links and being able to see if the person clicked the link is also valuable. Setting up Podium was very easy, which I really liked.

If they haven’t clicked the payment link you can’t remind them.

I have seen an increase in our reviews by using Podium's reviews management feature, which has been very helpful. I like the phone system Podium offers, especially how it summarizes calls. The whole platform is easy to use and navigate, which I really appreciate. Once our account manager was assigned, the whole process was very easy. Podium's features like review management, chat with AI, and social media integrations made us switch from our traditional voice system with Verizon One Talk.

Handling the leads on the system could be improved by maybe having some type of funnel or stage.

When transcribing calls, it sometimes makes the conversation seem disjointed, so you have to follow along closely to understand.

We had been struggling with situations where employees said they had contacted a customer, but the customer insisted they had never been reached. Once we started using Podium, whether through text or voice, we can track and confirm whether a customer has or hasn’t been contacted, even across different phone numbers.

It would be nice to have more control over conversations so they aren’t open to being viewed by other users. I also often notice delays in when a call or text shows up in the app compared with when it actually occurred. For example, a missed call that happens right now might not appear in my phone app for another five minutes.

I like that Podium is an all-in-one solution for voice and text, making communication easier. I appreciate being able to send texts and voicemails in the same window. It's also convenient to use either web or mobile devices or our own VOIP phone network, with synchronization across all those devices for call logs and text messages. I found the initial setup very easy.

**What do you dislike about Podium?**

At this point, you can't contact a client through both phone/text AND email. They are currently separate. Occasionally the network experiences outages but not too often.

Podium is easy to use. I like that it has the option to use it on mobile or desktop. It was easy for us to incorporate the chat program on our website. You can assign conversations and it will send a notification to the person who needs to see the message. It's also nice to leave internal notes on there so one of our other team members can see it but the customer can't.

**What do you like best about Podium?**

We really appreciate being able to connect our website visitors with live sales team members in real time. As a brick-and-mortar retailer, we faced significant challenges bridging the gap between online shoppers and customers visiting us in person—then the pandemic hit. We knew we needed to move into the virtual space in a big way, and other retailers recommended Podium.

One of the first benefits we saw was how the platform automated the process of requesting online reviews. This was an area we struggled with before, and we’ve seen significant gains in the number of reviews being posted.

The biggest benefit for us, though, has been the webchat. This feature added a live chat widget to our website. Because we’re a smaller organization, we didn’t have the resources for a dedicated internet sales team, but Podium let us route these conversations by location (with a geotagged push) and connect customers directly with sales team members at the store closest to them.

That filtering created multiple advantages. It helped us connect with customers on a more personal, regional level, and it also supported a more curated, consistent visit. A customer can start their journey on our website, choose to be contacted, request information, get connected with a store associate, and then visit that same location and work with the same associate throughout. For a company like ours that values one-on-one client interaction, that’s a big plus.

Finally, because it gives associates access to store communication, we were able to reduce the time it takes for a client to be greeted and moved to the next step in their journey. As their statistics (as well as our experience) show, speed to lead is a major factor in closing percentages.

**What do you dislike about Podium?**

Since this is a highly customizable tool, it can take some time to format the product to meet your specific needs. Also, the team that implements the product won't be able to do the actual heavy lifting of training to get your organization on board with what specifically your group might want to get out of it. Keep in mind this is less about the Podium team not performing their proper function and more about your role in the process of knowing how your team will best absorb the information. Also, there are sometimes situations that arise when there are errors on the platform and there isn't a clear reason as to why or a defined timeline of when it's going to be corrected. Most issues get a blanket "we'll be looking in to this" and they just tend to fade away.

**What problems is Podium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem we solved was a lack of online reviews. We tried everything to incentivize our employees to solicit them. We were even giving a spiff of $10 per online review they were able to trace back to them asking for it.

Podium integrates seamlessly to our accounting software.  It exceed ours expectations with the phone and payment options available for our customers.

We do get a lot of spam calls but that is to be expected.  I really can not think of anything Podium can do better, it works perfectly for our applications.

Before we had to look at multiple platforms to get all our communications, now with Podium it is all in one place.

They are snake oil salesman with unethical business practices.

They have unethical business practices. You are told about an initial 12 month term that you can't out of. Ok, but then they auto renew every year for an entire year. I was promised by the sales person that after I year I could "get out any time, and it was monthly." What they don't share is they bill monthly but they try and fleece your for an entire year. God forbid you don't cancel till January. Oops, sorry, You have to keep paying for a year. I'm going to tell every small business owner I know.

They promise a lot, but they’re expensive and none of those promises were delivered. I’d go with Birds Eye instead. It’s about half the price, and it’s month to month.

I was lied to during the onboarding about being able to cancel the program easily. They still sent me to collections to collect the full amount of the contract, even after I had issues. Podium doesn't care about small businesses and doesn't take accountability for their actions. Podium didn't solve any problems for my company and caused issues by porting out my main business line without explaining the repercussions, leaving me without a business line for weeks. Customer service was no help; when I tried to resolve the issue on a Saturday, the rep said they didn't work then, and it took two weeks to get tech support. Their terrible customer service and lies were continuous, and the initial setup was absolutely terrible, with no clear explanations. I wouldn't recommend Podium to anyone.

**What do you like best about Podium?**

I use Podium to manage reviews of my mini project as a student. What I really like is its availability 24/7, which solves the time problem for me. The most powerful feature, in my opinion, is the Jerry AI. It's not just for chatting but is goal-oriented, which means it can book appointments and acts like a receptionist for small businesses. Also, the initial setup of Podium was easy, and I'd rate it a 9 on an easy-to-use scale.

It's expensive, which makes it harder for very small-sized businesses to use.

Podium solves my time problem by being available 24/7. The Jerry AI feature is powerful, acting like a receptionist that can book appointments. It helps manage my project reviews effectively as a student.

**What do you like best about Podium?**

I use Podium mainly to text customers, respond to inquiries quickly, and collect customer reviews easily after services. I love the text messaging feature because it makes it easy to reach customers fast and get quick responses without back-and-forth calls. I like how easy it makes customer communication. The initial setup was very easy!

I feel the pricing is a little bit high for small businesses like mine, but the features still make it worth it.

I don’t like anything from them. Their software is slow and missing a bunch of features.

**What do you dislike about Podium?**

I am really dissatisfied with Podium. They promised that I could cancel if it wasn't a good fit for me, but despite cancelling, they've processed unauthorized charges on my card, which is frustrating and unacceptable. In 6 months they have charged over 6,000 on my card even after changing my card number.  I'm also very disappointed with the phone and text services provided by Podium, as both seem to fail at delivering what was promised. Moreover, I found the initial setup to be incredibly difficult and time-consuming. Another major issue is that the sales representatives promise features and capabilities that the service ultimately doesn't deliver on, leading to unmet expectations and unnecessary complications.

It didn’t solve anything as their phone system was horrible.

**What do you like best about Podium?**

Using Podium for our business has streamlined our Customer Care so much! Our team is able to work together to quickly answer customers, day or night. Being able to track and follow-up on conversations, both phone calls and texts, helps keep our documentation in order. It's our full-time go-to for communication among staff, customers, vendors, and partners!

**What do you dislike about Podium?**

There are a few "technical glitches" here and there as far as search history, notifications, etc., but we see the constant improvements and have been pleased with customer service when we've had any issues.

**What problems is Podium solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping records of communication with insurance companies and customers is imperative in our field of work. We're able to follow-up when needed for work sites and make sure our customers are well taken care of. Also, since several members of our team use Podium all day long, we're able to streamline customer care and business communication, avoiding duplication of work or missed opportunies to serve the community.
