What do you like best about Dotdigital?

What I like best about Dotdigital is how accessible and intuitive the platform is you don't need to be a marketing expert to get up and running quickly. The drag-and-drop email builder and clear navigation make it easy for anyone on the team to jump in without a steep learning curve.

The segmentation is a real standout for me. It's straightforward to slice your audience based on purchase behaviour, engagement levels, demographics, or custom data fields all without needing to write a single line of code. You can build really precise segments in just a few clicks, which means campaigns feel targeted and relevant rather than generic.

The Magento integration is seamless, which makes a huge difference. Customer and order data syncs automatically, so you can trigger automations based on real purchase activity abandoned cart emails, post-purchase flows, win-back campaigns all pulling live data directly from your store. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

The main areas where I think there's room for improvement are the SMS experience and the reporting dashboards. The SMS functionality feels a little underdeveloped compared to the email side of things it could be more intuitive and better integrated into the overall campaign workflow, so it feels like one seamless experience rather than a separate add-on.

The dashboards are useful but can feel a bit clunky at times. I'd love to see more flexibility in how you can view and customise your reporting being able to pull the metrics that matter most to you in a cleaner, more visual way would make a real difference to how quickly you can act on insights. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

Dot Digital has been excellent from day one. Having worked with them previously at Marie Curie and now Sue Ryder, I am finding them consistently good. The customer support from our account manager, Tom, has been great, and the online chat function sees that I never get stuck. Dot Digital is easy to use, I use it on a daily basis. It's also great that it's easy to implement and easy to integrate with other platforms. Having used Mailchimp previously, this system beats it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

There are a few key things missing from designs, and it seems that big picture thinking has been implemented instead of actually thinking of user experience. This includes things such as the chat icon blocking data in the bottom right hand corner of a report, SMS reporting via a Google Sheet not being a thing just to name a couple. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

Dotdigital is definitely the ESP that I have found easy to pick and run with, much more user friendly than some of their competitors. Can easily create campaigns, segmentations and journeys that businesses would need. Also their chatbot AI is actually really helpful and when not their customer support team are really responsive. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

Dotdigital can be a touch basic and misses some finer touches such as being able to create different versions of a email journeys so that you aren't having to delete or copy previous ones and can revert if the changes prove to be ineffective. Also we have an issue where clients have multiple accounts within our business but all registered under a single email address, Dotdigital's inability to use anything except email address as the contact's unique identifier has proved problematic. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I love using Dotdigital for all our Email and SMS marketing. I appreciate the personalisation, automation, and quickness of using templates. What stands out for me is the ability to make programs easily and analyze them. I find the advanced features immensely helpful compared to other ESPs. I particularly enjoy the ability to personalise the user experience and automate campaigns to save time. The initial setup was easy, which was a great relief. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

What do you like best about Dotdigital?

The automation and journey-building tools are the standout features for us. We can map out multi-step journeys with triggers, timing rules, and decision points based on customer behaviour or data, which makes it much easier to manage ongoing communications at scale. Segmentation is also a big benefit because it allows us to tailor messaging to specific groups, improving relevance and engagement. From a day-to-day perspective, it’s helpful having a platform that supports both campaign activity and automated transactional messaging, so we’re not switching between tools to manage different types of emails. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

There are a few areas where Dotdigital could improve. Some of the more advanced features, like automation and segmentation, can feel a bit complex to set up and troubleshoot, especially when you're in a hurry or dealing with multiple data points and conditions. When things don't work as expected, it can take time to pinpoint where the issue is, and clearer diagnostic tools or at-a-glance troubleshooting would make it easier. Some tasks involve more steps than expected, so streamlining workflows and making navigation more intuitive would help everyday efficiency. Also, while support is excellent, having more practical, scenario-based guidance in-product, like templates or best practice prompts for common automations and transactional setups, would make onboarding new users and building confidence faster. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I use Dotdigital as a marketing tool to reach our customers, allowing us to inform them about offers and new product launches. It's super easy, quick, and efficient. I love the segment option and the ability to change the look and feel to match our branding. The embedded forms are a great feature as well. I really appreciate the flexibility and automation, which make managing our welcome, abandoned cart, and product flows so easy. We can easily create dedicated product flows and enroll customers to receive specific content when they purchase a product. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

The platform is easy to use, with good training provided and the online academy there to easily answer any queries we have had during onboarding. When we have needed a bit more support, then availability and speed of the customer support team has been excellent. We found the integration with our CRM tricky, but that is down to the complexities of the CRM, and have found that now we have access to all our data, we are able to segment better and be more targeted than we could with our old e-marketing platform. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I use Dotdigital to build marketing and transactional email campaigns, and I like that it makes building emails and programs really simple and easy for most people to pick up. I appreciate the automation feature, allowing me to see everything at a glance without the need for manual intervention. I enjoy the program building feature because, although it looks complicated at first, it's quite simple and I like building the logic. It helps me create full campaigns and automate them while personalizing the user experience with effective segmentation, saving me a lot of time and providing a better experience for customers. What do you like best about Dotdigital?

I find Dotdigital's dynamic content really interesting because it lets us create single emails that change depending on the recipient, which is drastically increasing the speed of our workflow. It also allows us to create more personalized experiences. These features are valuable because they're a time saver and open the door to more opportunities for commercialization and personalization. I appreciate that it helps deliver more tailored content and offers rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Additionally, setting it up was pretty easy, with only a couple of minor issues. The onboarding process and training were smooth, thanks to the great people guiding us. We're able to connect our platforms nicely with Dotdigital, making our automations even more powerful. What do you dislike about Dotdigital?

Right now, we've not used the system enough to really find any downsides, although I think one challenge that we're going to have is coming up with all the different ideas and opportunities that we might have for automations. Particularly as we're now entering a phase in our business that is much more commercially driven than it has been previously.
