Onboarding new staff members have been a great experience. I enjoy working with our representative as well. We're looking forward to migrating to RE NXT next month. It may freeze for a couple of minutes or completely crash to the point of locking one into their account so the person has to restart the computer to get back in. Also, BBNC is now a separate application so a normal day consist of going back and forth between 2 programs which require a login each time.. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT:** Do your research, even though there is issues still being worked out, overall Raiser's Edge appears to be the user inter phase with the most accurate and reliable results with data entry and report creations. **What problems is Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT solving and how is that benefiting you?** Raiser's Edge allows us to keep a history of thousands of donor's gift contributions, event registrations, and demographics along with alumni memberships, presidents associates, and ITC memberships. Before Raiser's Edge, everything was recorded by hand on long spreadsheets that took a much longer process. Blackbaud has worked with non-profits for several years and knows exactly what features are most regularly needed for almost all standard non-profits - so the Raisers Edge software sits almost directly at that sweet spot. Other solutions may require additional customization or development - RE is ready almost immediately. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** And that's also the flip side - the worst thing about RE is that it's so inflexible. It's built one way and you can't really do much to change it. Adding a field isn't really possible, so as your business grows, you are stuck using RE in more and more outlandish ways - or finding difficult work-arounds that are time-consuming, inefficient, expensive, and/or unsecure. This means fundraisers in the field can look up a record, run a report, etc. themselves instead of calling someone at the office and asking them to do it and read the info to them over the phone. It's also a lot easier to use, meaning that it is a lot less intimidating, especially to someone who might not use it as regularly as I do. They can also then add their notes right in after their meetings. Actions integrate with outlook so you can how you're interacting with donors throughout the day. Proposal tracking is another feature that I really like. First, especially for capital campaigns that involve multiple phases and meetings or grants that require advanced reporting, one can track each step of the process and see it displayed in one place. You can see your grant submissions, thank you letters, reports, events that you've invited them to, correspondence that you've had, whether or not they got your annual report, etc. Second, makes it easy to hold fundraisers accountable for their systems of donor relations. Supervisors can assign actions and watch their employees steward and cultivate their donors while it's easy to take note of the meeting. While it is a complex fundraising database and there is definitely a learning curve if you've never used it before, it has the capability of doing nearly everything you need to do including creating queries, showing financial and membership reports, profiling a donor with in-depth fields for information, mail options for thank you letters, and many, many other things. Blackbaud's customer service is also pretty great--anytime I had a question, I was able to get an answer, usually on the day I asked. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** The learning curve. Because it's a very, very complex system that can give you data in countless ways, it can be difficult to learn. But once you learn it? Oh boy. It's great. However, after working with it for 9 years, I'd say I've graduated to at least an intermediate level and am able to obtain needed reports and queries. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** It is not particularly user-friendly, but that isn't exactly the fault of Blackbaud (the company that produces RE) -- as they say in the computer business, garbage in, garbage out. In addition- if you don't have a strategy, this can quickly become an expensive address book. It is a robust, strong database that allows you to do pretty much anything you could ever want to to with your donors, volunteers, and supporters. I particularly like the relationships, solicitor, and notes functions. These will allow anyone with access to know exactly what types of moves managements we have done in the past, giving anyone the ability to pick up a relationship, should it be necessary. **What do you dislike about Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT?** RE is clunky and can be hard to navigate. It's really expensive, and for the cost, it doesn't include training from Blackbaud. While the support team can be helpful, it can take days to find a solution, which really hurts when you're dealing with an urgent issue. I don't like that it's not cloud-based, and I can't access it from home or mobile. **Recommendations to others considering Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT:** Start with NXT.
