**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Dotdigital works very intuitively and it is easy to manage emails, programs and segments. The times i do need help someone is there LIVE and ready to figure it out. I usally get issues or questions answered about what i have created fixed immediately or within 24 hours.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

There chat app that you can install on your web platform could be more robust and more customer info on it.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping in contact with our customers and helping segmenting our customers to provide the best email to the most likely to activate on it.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I like that we can A/B test subject lines and content so we know what works for us. I also like the dynamic content feature in emails as it helps us to tailor our emails as much as we could. A/B testing subject lines help us to see trends and see what attract our audience. Dynamic content helps us to build very tailored email content for our audience, and we don't have to create multiple emails one by one.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Sometimes the test previews are different from my inbox compared to the previews in Dotdigital. And I need a summary report for every email with its most clicked links, but Dotdigital cannot provide it for now.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital standardizes our company emails with branding templates, helps us A/B test subject lines, and allows dynamic content for tailored emails without needing multiple versions.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I use Dotdigital for its email program to create efficient email campaigns. It solves the challenges of sending scheduled campaigns and creating automation programs effectively. I appreciate its user-friendly experience and the many features designed to grow our customer base and increase revenue. The ease of use with step-by-step directions and elevated drag-and-drop features when creating programs is particularly beneficial. The automation programs offer different benefits to target various customers and segments at different times. I find the support, training sessions, automation features, and segmenting very valuable. The initial setup was also very easy, making it a smooth transition for us.

Everything is wonderful!

I use Dotdigital for my e-commerce agency clients and really appreciate the very nice and competent people working there. The tool can pretty much do anything, and I find the segmenting, personalization, sending SMS, and chat features valuable. I like that the main setup tasks are easy, and I can do advanced things too. Some features are inherently complicated, but they make them as easy as possible.

Sometimes they have too many features for unexperienced users. But I think that is not something they should change.

I find the Dotdigital platform to be very easy to use and extremely user friendly when it comes to it's modular construction of emails and segments. It's platform format is easy to follow and has allowed my team to be trained up on it very quickly.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

It is not entirely clear where a lot of setting details are when trying to work on the back end of the platform. In addition, there is a lack of support at times if there are issues.

We are now able to build automated nurture programs for our unsold leads and has helped us to increase our sales leads pipeline greatly.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

With Dotdigital, I really like that we're able to segment our audience and ensure that each user receives bespoke emails. This is especially helpful for targeting users further into the buying cycle with more tailored content. I appreciate that Dotdigital allows us to hone in on the content we send to different markets, making it more bespoke to international audiences and reflecting their culture. This helps them feel part of a community, rather than just being international students.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I'm not aware of a feature that allows us to quickly find and replace things like links to pages. We might change a domain, for instance, from Credit UK to AC UK or a rebrand, and this requires our email team to manually go through every campaign email and change these domains. This is a very laborious manual task for a human. We've spoken to our success managers who were unable to help us with this.

Dotdigital solves the problem of emailing large, segmented audiences for our university, ensuring each user gets tailored emails based on their course needs across various faculties.

This is a very intuitive platform that allows with a variety of CRM tools. The email automation tools and integrations via API are particularly useful.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

There are no real downsides as if I run into any issues, the support team are always on hand to resolve issues.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The tool allows us to better communicate with our customers via automated email marketing. We for example are able to send pre-visit information and post visit information. The survey tool allows us to collect customer insights about their visit and the API integrations make collecting email leads very simple.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Really easy platform to use and train people to use. Customer support has always been fantastic and really helpful. Any way you decide to contact them you'll always get a response within a couple of hours, sometimes within the hour. Always really friendly and never had any issues arise. No problems with implementation, straightforward. My whole working day is based around Dotdigital so I am constantly on the platform. Intergration is also never an issue with us. Currently working on a project and it's been managed and intergrated well.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Reporting side of things is good but feel we as a company are missing one tracked element, revenue. Would be really useful for us to have revenue as a filter when looking at campaign reports.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're using Dotdigital more throughout our company by using surveys and forms. This has helped massively with collecting data securely and compliantly and easy to then access all the information.

  ### 13. Truly helpful AI help agent; image organization UX needs improvement

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

The AI help agent is truly useful. In the support pop-up, there are the typical resources: search the knowledge base or chat with a rep. But the AI tool (bulldog mascot) is shockingly good. Most of the times these product-based LLMs are useless, offering generic advice or even entirely made-up suggestions. The DD bulldog is spot-on with its comprehension of my questions as well as the step-by-step advice for troubleshooting or setting something up. You can have a real back and forth dialogue with the tool. If you're working on something complex, remember not to answer yes to "Did this answer your question?" because it closes the chat and you have to start over. It's not just asking for feedback, it's looking to close the ticket, essentially. I look forward to the ability to train it on brand identity so it could be asked more strategic questions as well as tactical ones.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The UX for image organization could be more intuitive. Contacts cannot be searched by name. There's no automatic saving in the email editor. 🫨 (What is this, 1998?) The email preview area has to be coded through HTML. There's no way to view all saved building blocks outside of the email editor.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Individual and automated email campaigns for selling ecommerce goods. Ability to personalize, segment, and automate.

I mostly use Dotdigital for email marketing and internal company newsletters, and it's fantastic at making communication with our online customer segment really easy. Any issues that come up are quickly resolved through our dedicated rep, the chat feature, or their AI bot. It's really easy to use, offering the best user experience I've had with an email marketing platform. I also want to mention my rep Emily Keye, who has been great to work with.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

It's partly due to our system configuration, but we haven't been able to connect our CRM system or catalog into Dotdigital.

Dotdigital makes communicating with our online customer segment easy and resolves problems quickly with their dedicated rep, chat feature, or AI bot.

I appreciate how easy Dotdigital is to use and how it allows for a lot of customization in email communications. Personalization is a key benefit, and the tool makes it simple to tailor emails to specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

It's complicated to manage emails for users with different operating systems, like dark or light OS. You are able to personalize but once you forward an email, the recipient receives both versions of the email, which is something I cannot depend on.

I like Dotdigital's functionality compared to other email platforms and how much it can do. The creation of emails with their drag and drop function is really easy. We can create email preferences that link into our website and segment our contacts for more targeted emails.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

It can be a bit glitchy sometimes, which might be because we're using the same email campaigns as a template instead of starting from fresh. I think the anchors have a mind of their own - sometimes they work and sometimes I have to go in and redo certain ones for reasons I can't work out.

The customer service is excellent. Emily Keye has been a really great partner as our CSM too, providing a lot of useful suggestions and insights to optimize out campaigns. The AI chatbot is a really useful reference for getting quick answers when I’m having trouble with something. And if the AI chatbot couldn't help, support at support@dotdigital.com is always helpful and quick to respond.

The UX of the reporting dashboards can feel a bit clunky and awkward to navigate.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DotDigital has a lot of out-of-the box integrations, which makes it useful for organisations that use a lot of tools/want data to integrate into one single source of truth. DotDigital's email builder is easy to use, and their audience builder is simple and straightforward to make segmentation effective.

One area they could improve is their liquid variables. I've noticed with tools like customer.io there is a lot of creativity when it comes to custom variables, but DotDigital hasn't quite got there yet. Another issue is they have quite rigid contracts, which makes it hard to malleable especially if you are a growing business.

I think Dotdigital is really straightforward to use. I'm not particularly techie, and I found it easy from the get-go. I introduced it to our company, and quite a few people use it in different capacities, and everybody finds it pretty easy. I love that everything is simple to use and intuitive - including the photo section which is really easy to edit in - and design templating is really useful. If I have a problem, there's always someone available to help me.

It's very intuitive and easy to build emails and the new AI sending feature is great. By using dotdigital we've improved some of our email lead generating efforts by 400%. 

For inexperienced email marketing users, this is arguably a better platform than some of the others out there.

Arguably there's too many clicks to get through the reporting - although once you're there it's great. And the number of times I've loaded 'unsent' items when I'm looking for 'sent' is insane. For me, I'd like one unified view of all emails - sent or drafted.

We regularly send 90k-100k customer emails per month - and dotdigital is how we do it. These emails drive our customers to landing pages & dotdigital forms to capture the leads that feed our sales teams. And they work.

The user interface and chat function are great. I think the blocks work well, and I appreciate that the AI Winston is helpful. It's also nice how the segments and programs communicate with each other.

Another standout feature is the persona-based marketing, which has been crucial in segmenting subscribers based on their engagement levels, including those who are highly engaged yet haven't made a purchase. This segmentation capability has been instrumental in launching targeted campaigns that yield positive results. Overall, these features provide a comprehensive view into customer insights, enabling more informed marketing strategies.

I find the onboarding process for Dotdigital to be a bit rough, particularly because we encountered deliverability issues. It’s frustrating that I can't select a year-over-year (YoY) reporting view directly and have to open two tabs to compare. Additionally, the inability to select a date range when reporting for SMS campaigns is limiting. There's also a need for a more simplified way of viewing the performance of dynamic content in emails. Another area that could be enhanced is the product recommendation blocks, as we often encounter difficulties with the output when setting up product recommendations.

This is a channel we use daily in our marketing team, and send several emails per week to our customer base. The ease of integrating this into our marketing flow was seamless, and is helping us grow and improve our efforts. The software itself is very much user friendly too.

The segmentation is powerful and, once I understood it, it became far more efficient. I switched to Dotdigital because it was smarter and had a better interface compared to what we used before.

I don't like that features are behind a paywall, such as contact scoring. That only happened recently. I don't like how easy it is for contacts to conflict and sit in limbo.

I had an excellent experience with the Dotdigital training session today led by Stephen. He was truly exceptional as a trainer — patient, clear, and incredibly knowledgeable. What stood out most was the way he paced the session. He didn’t rush through the material, but instead took the time to explain each concept thoroughly and checked in regularly to make sure everyone was following along. Stephen also built in breaks at the right times, which made the session easy to stay engaged with. I especially appreciated how he encouraged questions throughout, always making sure there was plenty of space for discussion and clarification. Sometimes our data integration is not as smooth as we'd like, but this is likely more our CRM than DotDigital.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm not aware of any current problems with DotDigital, but they tend to resolve any issues quite quickly. For example people were having issues with Winston AI capitalising the start of each word in subject lines and DotDigital were very quick to rectify this after receiving feedback on it.

Dotdigital has been easy to use and intuitive, yet offers complexity when needed. It is a straightforward platform, which is especially helpful when managing multiple brands within the system. Incorporating personalisation, dynamic content, and automations into our emails has been a smooth process, and the support team has made implementation even easier.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I don’t have many complaints about Dotdigital, but I do find the email editor a bit frustrating at times. The editor screen and the preview or test send can look quite different, which means we often have to rely on trial and error, especially when working with spacers and margins. The margin editor, in particular, feels awkward to use.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital addresses our need to scale effectively across all of our brands. It enables us to create personalised, dynamic content within specific emails and allows us to automate journeys tailored to our different audiences.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

One of the best things about Dotdigital is the ease of use, everything is built for a positive and simple user experience. This is not to say that there are not numerous features that will allow you to elevate your email communications. You can make it as simple or complex as your business needs. Dotdigital ALWAYS provide a rapid response whether this is via our Customer Success Director, Amit or via the live chat on the platform. Further positive factors of Dotdigital is the ability to integrate with other platforms simply. Would recommend Dotdigital to anyone who is either a beginner or advanced in email communication etc.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I have not had any negative experiences with Dotdigital myself. Possibly, that Winston AI could be developed further to provide more tailored feedback dependent on industry etc. Or encourage reps to to have a more personable experience with clients throughout journey of working with them.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital is continuously helping us to engage and keep engaged with customers. It allows us to pick up on automatic responses, etc. which prompts us to keep data up to date. We are enforcing Dotdigital to do a lot of hevay lifting for us welcome email incentive program, basket abadnoment program (which we haven't deployed yet but are sure this will reduce our basket abandonment rate) and Dotdigital enables us to provide tailored guidance to our customers dependant on the probem they need solving or the products they are interested in.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

A great user experience - everything makes sense, and Dotdigital are continually tweaking the UX/UI so that it becomes easier and more intuitive to use all the time. I have used other email service providers and this is the most comprehensive and user-friendly one of them all. In particular, their automation tools have allowed us to deliver a more efficient, informative service to our customers and it's now a tool that I couldn't do my job without. I use it every day! The customer support is also really great - I can easily just live chat with someone knowledgeable, and they usually assist me there and then with solutions and ideas.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

It would be good to see some improvements to the email proofing tools. It would be good to have something that I can share with stakeholders that allows them to comment directly on a draft, like you can on a PDF, rather than them have to copy and paste text into documents or take screenshots or similar. That would speed workflows up quite a bit.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's allowed us to start to create a single email service provider within our complex organisation. This means we can work towards brand unity, communications consistency, and shared insight. It has also brought automation into our communications strategy, allowing us to deliver more efficient and relevant communications to our customers.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Dotdigital makes it easy to target and segment out our audience and send emails with their user-friendly drag-and-drop systems. It's a breeze to make templates and automate our emails all in place. 
Their support team is one of the best and is quick to respond and solve issues. It's also great to be appointed a rep to meet with quarterly to go over issues, and upcoming changes, and be informed on what is happening at Dotdigital.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

There aren't many downsides to Dotdigital. Setting up automated emails, updating them, and back-end items, can be cumbersome. Most likely due to how my predecessor set it up. it is something I would like to overhaul in the future, especially with the new Fres Revalence merger.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital is serving its purpose by providing our customers with high-quality emails,  content and getting them the information they need to keep shopping with us. All while providing great reports so we know what does well and what we can improve on, it's easy to track emails and integrate with GA4 so we know exactly what we need to do.

I really like how we can create targeted emails based on the web pages the consumer has visited. This has helped create a personalized experience for all of our consumers. We're able to create tailored content for the user, learning more about their interests based on the pages they visit.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The reporting aspect could be improved, it's difficult to find total unsubscribe numbers and also dynamic panels would be improved if we can use preferences rather than just data fields.

I use Dotdigital for sending emails, solving targeting, optimization, and data collecting issues. It allows us to create targeted emails and tailored content based on consumer web activity, enhancing personalization.

I like the functionality and flexibility of the templates, that it's easy to create dynamic and engaging campaigns for supporters and that the segment functionality enables easy personalisation and targetting.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

When using variable content it's complicated to send yourself test versions of the different variants. I've used other platforms that made this much easier.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's enabling us to send our supporters regular engagement and fundraising emails, while using a segment to ensure that we don't overload them with too many communications within any given period. Out new template is also ensuring that all the emails we send align with our brand style and create supporter recognition for our emails.
