**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I like the functionality and flexibility of the templates, that it's easy to create dynamic and engaging campaigns for supporters and that the segment functionality enables easy personalisation and targetting.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

When using variable content it's complicated to send yourself test versions of the different variants. I've used other platforms that made this much easier.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's enabling us to send our supporters regular engagement and fundraising emails, while using a segment to ensure that we don't overload them with too many communications within any given period. Out new template is also ensuring that all the emails we send align with our brand style and create supporter recognition for our emails.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

The platform is easy to use and features a clear, intuitive interface that makes navigation straightforward. I appreciate being able to manage both email and SMS campaigns from a single location. There are also numerous integration options available, which adds to its versatility. Additionally, the customer support has been excellent. 

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I wish there were a way to view both one-off and automated email campaign templates together in a single location.

The platform makes it easy and fast to create both email and SMS campaigns. I appreciate how quickly I can access customer data, which streamlines my workflow. The reporting features are also impressive, offering a high level of detail.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

The system’s layout is really easy to use, along with the drag and drop feature when building emails. I’ve also found both the knowledge hub and the live chat helpful whenever I’ve had questions or needed support.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The only thing I've found hard to work with is the image library as sometimes it's quite tricky to search for images when building campaigns.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital has given us the tools to automate emails to supporters and keep them engaged on a journey. It's also helped us with our internal communications strategy as we're able to see how staff are responding to our emails.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I appreciate the wide range of tools and the flexibility that allow me to design truly exciting and creative campaigns. Additionally, I really like how user-friendly and straightforward the platform is to use. I also love how much support is available to me as a user, including the AI tools, the customer service help, as well as Dot Digital academy. i will be using this very frequently so these are definitely things to consider. while i was not involved in the process, it seems that this was an easy implementation and easily integrated with the current systems that my company uses.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

While I wouldn't say there's anything I truly dislike, my main concern is that I might not take full advantage of the platform because it offers so many features. Its extensive capabilities make me worry that I won't be able to use it to its fullest potential.

I like the intuitive UI of Dotdigital. It's quite easy to pick up, learn, and use.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I think Dotdigital could improve by adding instant behavior or triggered touch points that allow for sending contacts, emails, or entering programs instantly without needing to use an API or a form from the site. It would be better to have a non-enrollment, instant granular option in the programs that operates down to the minute or hour.

I find Dotdigital's reporting easy to export, which makes it easier to show reports to my higher-ups in a very easy-to-understand way. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I find the pricing too high, which makes it a concern for me. Additionally, the template creator could use some updating. I would like the drag and drop editor to be easier to use, as well as improvements in organizing files.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

The team find dotdigital incredibly easy to use - so much so that we've been using it for 5+ years with no challenges whatsoever. As our business has expanded, so too has our use of its functionality, which is supported by super helpful resources and account managers on hand, should we need them. It's incredibly simple to use, even when playing around with some of the more complex aspects such as automations and programmes.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Nothing that I can think of. At times we'd like a bit more flexibility with templates and creative elements with building blocks.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows generalist marketeers to deploy email marketing campaigns and programmes in a self-sufficient manner, with highly configurable templates and personalisation options - great options for branding -  whilst also allowing stringent checks before emails are sent. It's allowing us to communicate clearly with customers, and at pace, in an ever changing market.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

The overall dashboard within dotdigital itself is really good. You can view a lot of information based on the campaigns / content you're using. The programs feature is useful as well so you can see how many users are flowing into the program and following each decision. The implementation itself of dotdigital was quite straight forward. We did have a few teething issues with contacts but we were able to reach out to the support team to work with our developers to understand the problem and get it fixed. We now use dotdigital quite often for example we have abandon cart set up now and we also have our account creation emails set up within there.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I think there could be more information or understanding when connecting with adobe commerce (magento) for example the unsubscribed flow back into magento from when a user unsubscribes from the front end wasn't how i'd expect it. So instead of adobe commerce becoming our source of truth we need to use dotdigital which is fine but is something we would need to remember in the future when looking at newsletter subscribers in adobe commerce back end.

It is helping with our abandon cart issues. We noticed in the data (provided by dotdigital within adobe commerce) that the abandon cart emails would be quite beneficial and we can see that now it's set up and live, users are interacting with it.

A lot of the features are very intuitive. You can personalise it as much as you want. It's really easy to view clear insights. Personalisation is great.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Sometimes it feels a surprisingly clunky given it is such a leader in it's field. Font formatting often changes of it's own accord and you have to proof read it really carefully to make sure it hasn't changed without you noticing.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us to market to customers who might not be following us on social media. It's also handy when we need to contact customers urgently because we can SMS them.

As an email developer that works with HTML and CSS code, Dotdigital have created a very user-friendly and yet professional platform for email design and development, and the toolsets only seem to be expanding with time.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Some functions of the software need refining, which I imagine will happen through more user interaction with the tools they provide.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping with certain clients who want a more simplified and involved approach to email campaigns, where they can not only receive our support with builds, but can also eventually reach a point where they can amend their own emails.

I like the dynamic CRM system in Dotdigital, and the CMS aspect is quite helpful. I appreciate being able to design and tailor emails to my branding, adding different elements like video and images, and sectioning my emails. It's easy to use and self-explanatory, similar to other systems, which makes migrating easy.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Could be a little bit more dynamic. Sometimes when you're copying and pasting content into Dotdigital, it alters the design of the page. Some of the features seem a bit outdated, so it could be improved.

I like the segmentation options available in Dotdigital. It means we can reach the right contacts using personalised rules and segments.

Only one minor downside is that there is no calendar view to easily look back at sends by month. I know this is something highly requested and the team are looking to implement a calendar view in future.

We're able to reach different segments of our audience based on location, length of membership, age, type of membership - this means we can personalise our emails and ensures the right content reaches the right people.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I love the email builder and the reporting. The segmentation is fab too. I also found it really easy to connect it to our CRM once I'd figured out the settings menu. Very happy with the quality of the emails we're creating in DotDigital and the data that we're getting about our audience. Our Project Manager, Sarah, has been incredibly helpful and was wonderful to work with.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

There was a lot to take in to begin with (i.e lots of features). I found the settings menu a little unintuitive to begin with, but now I've got to grips with it, it makes more sense. Just a bit of trial and error, but our Project Manager, Sarah, was very patient with all my questions. A bit of confusion is to be expected when you’re moving to a more complex, efficient system!

Having more complex automations has been wonderful so far, as well as the connection between DotDigital and our CRM. The automations are already saving us time! I really enjoy the email builder and am excited to begin building more advanced emails.

I really appreciate the support from the account management team, which helped us unlock unused parts of our database, leading to significant improvements in email campaigns. I'm excited about exploring options like WhatsApp integration and Fresh Relevance for targeted marketing. **What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Originally, our team had been using Evomail, which felt extremely outdated and difficult to use. When we transitioned to DotDigital, we discovered a range of modern features that significantly improved the efficiency and simplicity of creating emails. The AI features are particularly helpful, and the ability to segment audiences with precision has proven to be very effective.

To make integrating with DotDigital easier, we participated in a fantastic training session with Stephen. He shared numerous tips and tricks that have made using the platform even more straightforward. It was fascinating to gain firsthand insight into DotDigital during the in-person session. In addition to this, our team has been, and will continue to, take advantage of the excellent training courses available through the Dotdigital academy. As an email marketer eager to grow and develop my skills, I appreciate that all these courses are included and specifically tailored to Dotdigital. This alone highlights the company’s excellent customer service and further demonstrates how seamlessly Dotdigital can be incorporated into our daily work.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I haven't used Dotdigital extensively yet, so I can't comment on any significant downsides. However, based on my limited experience so far, I'm curious to see how advanced the AI features can become. I still find myself turning to ChatGPT occasionally for assistance, and I think it would be very helpful if all AI capabilities were integrated within Winston to make things more convenient. There are a few areas that could be improved, such as offering more precise control over the tone of voice—allowing us to tailor it more closely to our brand. Additionally, it would be useful to specify the desired length of the copy, for example, setting it to around 100 words, rather than just choosing between shorter or longer options.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital allows us to send emails to over 250,000 guests every single week as well as analyse the data and outcome of the campaigns. Being able to make an email so simply, without the use of our graphic design team, allows me as a Customer Communications Marketer to develop my skills as well as be able to not spend my whole week focusing on email creation but instead looking into reporting and other forms of marketing.

We began our Dotdigital journey in April to support our 140+ Personal Travel Agents with professional, automated marketing. I am particularly looking forward to utilising some of the hidden gems and extra features not currently available to us. These include AI suggestions for subject lines and the 'geographical query' function that will allow us to target regional addresses more easily. In addition, some of the platform's features will allow us to time-save when building emails e.g. adding alt text at the same time as uploading an image

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

The only feature not available or usable to us that I can think of is the ability to remove false link groups that I have previously mistyped e.g. 'Liverpol' instead of 'Liverpool'. This would be a really handy addition to our existing features.

It is providing a quicker, slicker and more user-friendly system than we currently use, plus its AI features in particular will help us shape and hone our emails effectively. Current data flow problems will also be rectified and it will be handy to have a dedicated Account Manager to hand for day-to-day queries - this should particularly help with any deliverability issues we face from time to time.

The new AI features will be super helpful for the team in regards to Subject Lines and A/B tests, as well as the AI tool embedded into the copy boxes to help re-phase our copy for different emails. Stephen was a very good trainer and showed us very clearly how easy the software is to use. Also having Andy as our Account Manager will allow us to ask questions and get hints and tips easily, as well as the Academy which I think a lot of the team will utilise.

The previous version we worked on, before moving over to Dotdigital, had a lot of limitations. Moving over to Dotdigital should help to mimimise these limitations, once we figure out how our data comes across and if it can recognise people by booking references, and not just email and phone number.

It will help us to contact our guests both pre-cruise and post-cruise, in regards to available cruises as well as shore tours available to book. The Program Builder will also help sort out some automations for guests post-booking in regards to booking shore tours which is currently done manually.

Dotdigital is a brilliant platform.

As a marketeer I've had experience using many different platforms but I've never experienced a platform that holds such detailed insights that come out of the box. In my opinion, the 'user personas' it generates are valuable and one of the best features. 

Not to mention the integration with Magento is seamless. 

The customer relations team are super helpful and quick to respond to questions / queries. Would highly recommend.

I'd love to be able to build my own custom report based on what my clients KPIs are and the things we're looking to track most closely - but I believe this is coming on their roadmap!

It allows for more efficient decision making when it comes to email strategy.

Historically I've had to dig for lots of the information / actions etc to gain the data I need to feed strategy, however Dot is build to find and list lots of the information I need to make informed decisions, backed by the data.

Started using Dotdigital in Jan 2025 after a successful tendering process, great onboarding team and plenty of ongoing support as we ramp up our efforts to integrate our bookings data into the system. System is easy to understand and use and training videos were great and support team on hand to help if you come stuck with anything. We have been sending comms using Dotdigital for almost 6 months now and users are pleased with ease of creating emails and the reporting is good.
Particularly a fan of the automated programs (workflows) that either come pre defined or can be created from scratch, we have ones that create look-a-like audiences in Facebook and Google Ads as well developed advanced welcome and reengagement programmes. 

Would definitely recommend Dotdigital to other businesses.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

Dotdigital uses a language called liquid markup to help show values from orders / abandoned baskets etc and this take a bit of time to get used too and whilst the help system provides syntax and some examples for any complicated data requests you are likely to need their specialist help via service credits and these cost money. It would be great if the support team helped out on these requests for free (as you would be getting more out of the system)

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dotdigital is solving our transactional email personlisation issue so that if we send an email to someone who has purchased product X we are not trying them to to purchase X again but maybe tell about similar product Y
it is able to become our system that stores all the purchases from multiple systems in one place providing a more holistic view of the guest and their purchase journey.
It will be able to give a better understanding of the effectiveness of a particular email in terms of sales generated by it both in quantity and value

I feel Dotdigital could improve by providing more insight into customer data, like showing specific ways people open emails and how long they spend on them.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Dotdigital for sending newsletters to our target audience. It's easy to use with a clear interface and great at giving reports.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I think the best thing is the ease of building comms. I really like how simple it is to build templates and create really effective comms. The test send option and analytics are brilliant. Customer support are fabulous and always ensure they solve your issue. I use DotDigital every day and it has really improved engagement with my comms.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I think some of the sending features are a bit difficult to understand. I may need to spend more time on this, but some features are less user friendly, like automated sends.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagement with the charity on the client journey. Helps me target and send attractive and engaging comms and our survey scores have boomed as a result.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Our success manager Sean is THE BEST and meeting him finally face to face last week was superb. The system overall is really good and even in our "offline" way of working the reporting works. Not really keen on the AI bot on the chat - but when I eventually get to a human they are FAB!!!

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

There appears to be no functionality to do "service" style emails that need to work across our business and this is a rather major floor. There are some of our contacts who need to be contacted regardless of if they have opted out of "marketing" emails. Would be interested to see if there was a way around this. As this is causing big issues right now.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

I think Dot Digital is a great platform, I have used it across 2 jobs over the last 5 years or so and always found it to be leading ESP. I really enjoy how easy the email builder is to use, creating automations and segments is also really easy and effective. 

I think the integrations you can make are also great, we recently started using a parent and child account to work with two sister brands and found it really easy to set up, especially with our account manager now on hand to help with any issues.

We use Dot Digital every day and have never have serious issues, I have been able to show less experienced colleagues how to use the paltform and get the up to speed very quickly

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

We have never had any issues with Dot Digital as a platform, we did have a period of 1-2 years where we didnt have an account manager. I believe a period of change at Dot Digital caused this to happen but since it was picked up around Christmas it has been a perfect experience, with our account manager on hand at every turn to help us

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to communicate with our customers regularly, creating quick segments and ensuring we can get the right message to the right customer at the right time. This helps us achieve both commercial and marketing goals.

Ease of use of the api's, automations  and just general set up

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

CRM feautres are limited. The subject and sending settings are located on a different page from the email content. This means you have to constantly switch back and forth between pages just to check or adjust things.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It offered many of the same marketing features as Salesforce but at a lower cost, which helped save money.

**What do you like best about Dotdigital?**

Dotdigital is a user-friendly platform that helps us send the communications we need easily. In 2025, our account manager changed and I'd like to give a special mention to Sean Ardley who has been a huge support to us this year already. He takes the time to ensure we understand all the features that exist within Dotdigital that we might not already be aware of. Some included in our plan and some extra to ensure we're getting as much benefit as possible. Sean meets with us on a monthly basis and always comes to our meetings prepared.

**What do you dislike about Dotdigital?**

I have no dislikes that I would like to raise at this time.

**What problems is Dotdigital solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to build emails that fit with our branding using template builders to provide a consistent experience for our users. We're able to monitor the performance of each email to determine what works and what doesn't.
