The Guard is Compliancy Group’s simple and cost-effective solution that addresses every aspect of compliance. Their proprietary Achieve, Illustrate, and Maintain methodology with Compliance Coach support helps to satisfy the entire set of HIPAA, HITECH, Omnibus, and PCI regulations.
After trying two other providers we really appreciated the 1/2 dozen or so 30 minute sessions that helped us through completing all steps necessary to ensure compliance (never got this far with the others). Also, their assistance with developing policies & procedures documentation, which we were dreading and thought would take forever, they made extremely simple yet thorough due to how they break it down and assist (so not overwhelming). Lastly, having all our final documentation (i.e., BAA's, Policies & Procedures, Employee info) in one web portal is great for us to access and/or assist if we ever have to go through an audit.
What do you dislike?
Up to this point only issue, if you want to call it that, is at times trying to schedule your 30 minute sessions on short notice can be difficult since they seem to be very busy. So generally need a good week or two lead time. Having said that, they are very responsive if you have questions that cannot wait for meeting/session.
Recommendations to others considering the product
Not being an expert in HIPAA going into this, it is difficult to know who to turn to for help. Received some recommendations from others in our industry, however our first two experiences were not so good, or I should say simply did not get us to where we needed to be to feel confident we had done all that was needed to ensure HIPAA compliance. In the end we would recommend Compliancy Group for others needing to ensure their companies are HIPAA compliant.
What business problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
We needed to ensure we have properly crossed all the t's and dotted all the i's for HIPAA compliance as a provider of communications services for medical companies. Needed help ensuring we were properly interpreting and doing it right in order to continue to grow our business with this customer base.
