  ### 1. User-Friendly, All-in-One Employee Scheduling Hub with Responsive Support

**What do you like best about 7shifts?**

Very user friendly for the staff, intuitive, easy to keep all of an employee's documents in one place. Makes communication simple amongst employees and management. Saves us money having everything in one place. Customer support is very responsive when issues arrive. Integrates well with Kronos.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

Unfortunately, the schedule view is only one week at a time. It would be helpful to view multiple weeks, especially when we're closing payroll for the period.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to using 7Shifts, managers were using email, spreadsheets, and text messages to communicate updates and schedules with employees. We now have that all in one place, so no need to use multiple avenues for communication. The schedule templates and copy paste feature reduces time building schedules. Document storage decreases the amount of paper files we need to keep, and the shift swap/ time off request eliminates paper forms and miscommunication. The shift feedback helps us keep our finger on the pulse of team morale, even when we're unable to be at that location in persom.

**What do you like best about 7shifts?**

7Shifts integrates seamlessly with our existing tech stack. Set up was very quick so we were able to start using the platform right away. The platform is very easy to use as an admin.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

I wish we could choose specific employees to contribute or not contribute to the tip pool policies instead of choosing by department or job role.

**What problems is 7shifts solving and how is that benefiting you?**

7Shifts relieves us of having to manually figure out our employees' tip distributions as well as manual entry of payroll. Employee time punches sync from our POS to 7Shifts, where the tips are allocated and then we can sync right to our payroll platform.

**What do you like best about 7shifts?**

We’ve been using 7shifts at Engrained Brewing Company for several years now, and it’s been an absolute game-changer for managing our team. The platform makes scheduling fast, intuitive, and accurate. I love how easy it is to forecast labor costs, track punches, and communicate with the team all in one place.

The integration with payroll has streamlined our process tremendously — no more manual entry or back-and-forth corrections. The mobile app keeps everyone connected and accountable, and employees appreciate how easy it is to see their shifts, swap if needed, and track hours.

We also use the tasks component for team checklists which has been great for driving accountability. The logbook feature is also great as it helps our management team communicate across shifts.

The 7shifts support team has also been excellent — responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us get the most from the system.

Overall, it’s one of the best technology investments we’ve made as a restaurant. It saves time, improves communication, and gives me the visibility I need to run the business more efficiently. Highly recommended to any restaurant looking to simplify operations and take scheduling to the next level!

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

The only challenge we had with 7Shifts is intermittent syncing with our POS system. Prior to running payroll I frequently have to resync time clock entries and sales don't always update accurately or all.

Having scheduling, communications, financial information and management tools all in one place saves us tons of time. It is super efficient and easy to use.

The chat feature is great for speaking with all my team members simultaneously. The initial setup of 7shifts was very easy.

**What do you like best about 7shifts?**

I have been using 7shifts for scheduling, and I appreciate how it allows me to customize the interface to better fit my needs. Initially, the setup was challenging due to the vast array of tools available, but the training provided was excellent and really helped me understand how to utilize the tools effectively. The person conducting the training was amazing, which made a big difference. I've found the customization features particularly helpful because they include important details like my labor and sales numbers at the bottom, which aids in making more informed decisions. Although I switched from another vendor, the experience with 7shifts has been positive, and I definitely see the benefits. I would recommend 7shifts to others, rating it an eight out of ten for its overall usability and helpful features.

I found the setup process of 7shifts to be initially challenging due to the abundance of tools available. This overwhelmed me at first, although the training provided was helpful in understanding and personalizing the scheduling tools. Even though the training was beneficial, the initial complexity of the setup made it a difficult start.

I find 7shifts incredibly straightforward to set up and use, which makes it easy to navigate, a standout feature for me. The convenience of allowing employees to request time off and pick up shifts directly through the app adds tremendous value, avoiding the need to juggle between texts and emails. Paying J1s while their social security card is pending. You used to be able to do this and now you can not.

7 Shifts solves the problem of accountability when scheduling. This helps us hold our managers accountable for labor hours and get great feedback from our teams on how our managers are doing.

I have been using 7shifts for seven years primarily for scheduling, and I find it very easy to set up and manage, making my experience seamless. The system effectively solves scheduling issues, enabling me to easily manage a large group of employees with different personal and professional commitments such as work, school, and personal life. I appreciate the features like time off requests, trading shifts, and the manager log, which are all helpful for maintaining operational efficiency. The affordability of the service makes it a great choice, along with its convenience and ease of use. There are many useful features that make the overall operation much more efficient, and I would definitely consider repurchasing due to these factors. Finally, I rated my likelihood to recommend 7shifts to others as a ten, reflecting my satisfaction and trust in the service.

nothing new has been relevant in canada, tip pooling an such is restricted to the US

features are becoming more transacationary. having to pay to upgrade what is little more than simple things is excessive when other companies are offering more in depth features

It is giving us a platform to handle all of our staffing and scheduling needs. The management log book also allows us great communication right from our devices

It has been not only a valuable scheduling tool for our staff but a great communication tool for our teams to use.

Sometime we run into issues when trying to re-onboard former employees and have to reach out to support to resolve the record.

Since it seamlessly integrates with our Point of Sale system (Toast) it has made employee onboarding a scheduling a lot more automated and seamless for our staff.

It is easy to see the schedule at a glance, and the colors/letters make it obvious what each position is. 7shifts is great for posting announcements and messages, and targeting them to  specific positions.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

Sometimes if there are a lot of employees and you want to go forward a week, you have to scroll back down to get back to the same section.

Having open shifts that employees can put up, having better communication, and being able to see the schedule via a phone app all makes for smoother operations.

I love how easy it is to use 7shifts. The UI is a breeze and has made scheduling so much more efficient! It makes training new staff a breeze to use! Customer support is great as well and has been able to resolve all issues. We use it daily in our business.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

7shifts recently took out some key features we used to have and put them behind another pay level. Simple tasks I once used are now pay locked. Sad to see a company penny pinch > Quality system.

7shifts is a great scheduling platform and SO easy to use for schedulers and employees to put in their availability. You can also create different departments and companies to separate employees into their proper job titles.

There is nothing I dislike about 7shifts.

Easy Scheduling for our restaurant staff. Staff can also see any open shifts or shifts that are up for grabs.

**What do you like best about 7shifts?**

The user interface and colorful designs was the best part about 7shifts. It was super easy to add new employees, remove old ones, and connect the employees to set up their accounts and access their schedule. It was also easy to implement and we used 7shifts for 11 restaurant locations. Their support was great as well and I did not have any issues trying to get things fixed. Printing out schedules was also easy and looked aesthetic.

**What do you dislike about 7shifts?**

I think the biggest thing was that I couldn't bulk delete inactive employees when I had used it back in 2023. However if that has been resolved, everything else was great. I had no problem managing the employees and the schedule. The only thing was the constant system updates and downtime that 7shifts would have happened in the middle of the day. Also, the integration with Toast at that time was still wonky. I'm not sure how it is now but hopefully that's been improved.

Being able to schedule my employees easily and have them setup their accounts was the best - they could easily access their schedule and see any updates from management.

The integration of the Punches onto iPads and automatic calculation of holiday and bonus hours.

Doesn't not integrate with allot of POS systems so some of the value features like staff costing have to be entered manually.

Admin interface is clunky, and the price has gone up to a point where the platform is less valuable overall.

It made scheduling very easy, the labor tab at the bottom was generally useful. I also liked that we could send messages to the team.

It can be glitchy for staff members sometimes. They would get locked out or passwords stop working. As far as the features, my particular company was unable to integrate it with Workday so it made tracking labor a little tricky.

I love the app, it gives us a lot of flexibility when logging import notes between managers, checking sales and labor %, and making announcement to staff. 

I also love how easily it is for my staff to trade shifts and communicate among each other since their contact info is in the app.

I don't like the glitches, not often. 

We also have to be very careful when not closing the browser, things will not save until you close it. So it's hard when you have multiple people working on the schedule, since it can be reverted back to the original template very easily.

I wanted to like this software. It had all the features I was looking for and a very friendly user interface. No contract and they set me up with the first month free.

However, once I was signed up there was ZERO support in getting integrated. I tried to sign up for the newly launced Payroll option right away as I was opening my business. The only way to do so was to schedule a demo. She was on vaccation and the first availble opportunity to add payroll was almost 2 weeks out. I ended up cancleing this service within the month. Beware, that you need to schedule a "meeting" with someone and cannot just cancle your account online.

It did not solve my problems and only delayed my efforts to find the right solutions.

From what I hear from head office, 7shifts isn't cheap, and is pretty much an industry (food and beverage) standard. So if you are looking for something that will for sure works and have the budget for it, I'd say go for it.

We've been using Excel to make schedules before this and now that we have it, staffs can easily submit their availabilities and that allows us to quickly form up a schedule.

It seems I need to take several additional steps to ensure the management of the staff scheduling, instead of making it easier
