Prior to using 7Shifts, managers were using email, spreadsheets, and text messages to communicate updates and schedules with employees. We now have that all in one place, so no need to use multiple avenues for communication. The schedule templates and copy paste feature reduces time building schedules. Document storage decreases the amount of paper files we need to keep, and the shift swap/ time off request eliminates paper forms and miscommunication. I use 7shifts for scheduling, time clocking, and timesheets, and I appreciate its chat feature for work-related communication among employees. It makes scheduling easy and, since it’s linked to the POS, it can forecast sales, allowing me to better manage labor costs by providing me with a labor percentage based on the day's schedule. I wish that end users could run a backfill. This is a specific request, and you could hide the button somewhere hard to find so that only people who really want to find it, can find it. But I often find myself running payroll at odd hours of the night, when the human support team is not reachable, and I have to wait until the morning to run the backfill. I appreciate how 7shifts makes it easier to communicate with staff and streamline that process. It provides transparency on scheduling, which is really helpful. I think the payroll services could be improved, in terms of end of year tax forms, things like that. As well as how they run payroll for more complicated situations, such as deductions, things like that. The initial setup was fairly easy for one business, but for another business, it was more complicated. We're still unable to get our salary managers on the payroll for our other business. We’ve been using 7shifts at Engrained Brewing Company for several years now, and it’s been an absolute game-changer for managing our team. The platform makes scheduling fast, intuitive, and accurate. I love how easy it is to forecast labor costs, track punches, and communicate with the team all in one place. The integration with payroll has streamlined our process tremendously — no more manual entry or back-and-forth corrections. The mobile app keeps everyone connected and accountable, and employees appreciate how easy it is to see their shifts, swap if needed, and track hours. We also use the tasks component for team checklists which has been great for driving accountability. The logbook feature is also great as it helps our management team communicate across shifts. The 7shifts support team has also been excellent — responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us get the most from the system. Overall, it’s one of the best technology investments we’ve made as a restaurant. It saves time, improves communication, and gives me the visibility I need to run the business more efficiently. The only challenge we had with 7Shifts is intermittent syncing with our POS system. I have been using 7shifts for scheduling, and I appreciate how it allows me to customize the interface to better fit my needs. Initially, the setup was challenging due to the vast array of tools available, but the training provided was excellent and really helped me understand how to utilize the tools effectively. The person conducting the training was amazing, which made a big difference. I've found the customization features particularly helpful because they include important details like my labor and sales numbers at the bottom, which aids in making more informed decisions. Although I switched from another vendor, the experience with 7shifts has been positive, and I definitely see the benefits.
