"Real-Time Data and Powerful Segmentation for Personalized Cross-Channel Engagement"
What do you like best about Braze?

What I value most about Braze is its real-time data capabilities and powerful segmentation, enabling highly personalized, cross-channel engagement at scale. It provides strong automation and API flexibility, making it effective for driving measurable lifecycle impact. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

Braze can present a steep learning curve for new users, particularly when configuring complex segmentation and automation flows. Additionally, advanced customization and reporting often require deeper technical involvement, which can increase operational overhead for non-technical teams. "Probably the best customer engagement tool out there"
What do you like best about Braze?

I use Braze for a lot of things as a lifecycle marketing manager, and it's been really helpful. It activates newly registered users for our app, helps engage them, and ensures they discover all the features of the Lifesum app. It plays a big role in retention by making sure users come back and use the app for a long time. I find it probably most important for targeting free users with the right offers at the right time & channel to try and convert them into premium paying members. Plus, segmentation is a major help in making sure we find the right users for specific campaigns. We base this on their lifecycle stage, geography, demographics, or even specifics like BMI or gender. We also do a lot of segmentation for users from our B2B partners, kind of like account-based marketing. I think that the implementation setup was pretty straightforward; I wasn't part of the company back then. but from what I've heard, it took them about two months for the full setup. I'd say Braze is probably the best customer engagement software I've personally worked with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

The email editing tools are still not first class as Braze was originally mobile-first so it's lagging a bit behind competitors who started out as email-first - however they've been working a lot on improving this area of the product. Also reporting wise, you still need to rely on external tools like Amplitude or Mixpanel to get the full picture, however, same as email, lots of improvements have happened there lately. "One of the best all around marketing automation platform"
What do you like best about Braze?

One of the best in the category after working on other platforms such as Hubspot, Pardot, IBM Marketing Cloud, and Mailchimp. Oracle Responsys

Straightforward and intuitive UI

Excellent ability to create segments and filters, combine them and use them for sending lists, filters or triggers

Many advanced scheduling and AB testing options

Easy to use journey editor

Works with liquid programming language to create complex logic

Ability to create Braze-to-Braze API calls that update segments, create custom events and allow a lot of flexibility based on the existing custom fields without a need for a business analyst or a front-end coder Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

The IDE experience lacks more specific errors notification and logging

The canvas experience can improve its overall conversion dashboard since canvas doesn't have a delay function as campaigns; you let users enter and start the flow only after a time delay. But they are counted for the conversion, although they didn't go through the flow

Braze-to-Braze API should become more simplified and productized. Currently, "update contact" on the canvas is only allowing to update of custom fields and not default fields or allow simple calculations

Everything else is damn good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Email Customization with Intuitive Drag-and-Drop"
What do you like best about Braze?

I like how easy Braze is to use! The drag and drop feature is super easy to use and lets me customize my emails how I want. I am on braze on every day and build and launch emails often! Was super easy to learn how to use and it is much better than an old email platform I used to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

I would love it if there was a way to easily convert HTML templates to drag and drop. In trying to switch my emails from html to drag and drop, and cannot get exact specifications to be the same and it is quite frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Team Collaboration and Enhanced Campaign Strategy"
What do you like best about Braze?

I love how well we can collaborate remotely but also in person. About every other year or so, we do a Braze Hackathon with members from the NBC organization and Braze to tackle important ideas for the next year. It's always fun to brainstorm ideas and work with a team who can turn visions into reality, which is really exciting. I also really like the email builder tool and the new AI decision tools. The AI tools are great because they help us make decisions by using real-time data, allowing us to quickly translate numbers into tangible next steps. This is particularly helpful for our audiences team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

I think it would be really nice to have a basic, super basic level 101-esque course on how Braze works — before we even get into how the team uses it. I wonder how much of the new team members' understanding is true understanding and how much is trial by error or a 'monkey see, monkey do' situation. I haven’t found tutorials on our side to be especially helpful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Driving Smarter Customer Engagement Through Automation"
What do you like best about Braze?

What stands out about Braze is its ability to seamlessly combine robust automation with personalized customer experiences across multiple channels. The platform’s user-friendly design makes it easy to build sophisticated customer journeys that respond dynamically to user behavior. Real-time analytics give me immediate feedback, enabling quick adjustments to boost engagement. This combination of flexibility and insight allows me to deliver timely, relevant messages that truly resonate with my audience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

The onboarding process could be smoother, as the extensive features and options can feel overwhelming initially. A more structured and interactive onboarding experience would be helpful for getting new users up to speed quickly. Also, while advanced segmentation options are powerful, they sometimes require a steep learning curve to master fully, which can slow down campaign execution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Segmentation with Minor Usability Quirks"
What do you like best about Braze?

I like the way Braze is all set up and I've gotten used to how it works over the years. It's a system that makes sense to me. I like the segmentation feature a lot. Being able to segment across attributes and events, even nested events, allows me to be granular in terms of targeting, which I find very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

I guess sometimes the logic of things when I am segmenting, if logic might make sense in my head, it might not necessarily make sense when I'm presenting that in Braze. It can be a bit of a low-level issue. Things that could be improved perhaps are housekeeping, being able to move things around and delete things. I was to move something from staging over to production, I'd like everything to be moved over. I don't have to do everything all over again. So that would be nice, but they're minor things. "Powerful CRM with Robust Segmentation, Though Steep Learning Curve"
What do you like best about Braze?

I use Braze to work at speed without losing control, confident that the logic and segmentation behind each campaign remain reliable. Once campaigns are set up and launched, they work exactly as expected. I'm very likely to recommend Braze for CRM due to its beneficial integrated features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

The UI can feel complicated for new users, creating quite a steep learning curve before feeling fully confident in using the platform effectively. The initial setup was difficult from an integration point of view and required a lot of assistance from internal tech teams. It also took a lot of time to understand how things fit together, particularly segmentation logic, customer data, and campaign setup. Clearer onboarding UI would help a lot, using tooltips to explain common actions or settings, and cleaner naming of modules and features would make it easier to use and understand when to use them. Visual cues of how things connect, such as when setting up canvases. I think more AI could be implemented when needing help, especially for things like canvas setups. "A robust and scalable customer engagement platform with excellent personalization capabilities"
What do you like best about Braze?

Braze offers an incredibly flexible and user-friendly platform for managing multi-channel customer engagement. Its Canvas Flow tool allows us to easily orchestrate complex customer journeys across channels like email, push notifications, SMS, and in-app messaging, all with an intuitive drag-and-drop interface.

Another highlight is the robust personalization capabilities through Liquid templating and Connected Content, enabling dynamic content experiences based on user data.

Additionally, the integration with analytics tools and native reporting makes it seamless to measure engagement and optimize campaigns. Braze's real-time segmentation and event-based triggers significantly improve the relevance and timing of our communications.

The support team and documentation are also very helpful, providing detailed guidance for implementation and troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Braze?

While Braze is very powerful, there is a steep learning curve for teams that are new to marketing automation platforms. The extensive use of Liquid for personalization, while flexible, can require technical expertise to implement advanced use cases properly.

Additionally, managing action credits and understanding billing related to different message types (especially with new channels like WhatsApp and webhooks) could be more transparent within the interface.

Finally, while Braze offers several out-of-the-box integrations, some custom integrations require significant technical effort, especially when dealing with complex data synchronization from internal systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
