Calendar software is intended to organize a user’s tasks, meetings, and goals in a visually simplistic way, which helps streamline the internal activities of an entire business. Calendar software facilitates the creation of electronic agendas that can be accessed, edited, and shared with employees company-wide. This software can also be used to schedule tasks for teams, share community-wide events, as well as notify team members about their peers’ paid time off, birthdays, etc.

Calendar software can be sold as a standalone product but is often included as part of a larger office suite. If it is part of a larger suite, calendar software is an integration that works with other standard office products such as email, digital business card, and video conferencing tools. Calendar software differs from Online appointment scheduling software. The best calendar software is focused primarily on organizing meetings, tasks, and events in a visual format that can be shared team-wide. On the other hand, online appointment scheduling tools focus on scheduling appointments for external users, taking payments for appointments, and communicating with clients. Buyers may consider solutions that provide both calendar and online appointment scheduling functionalities in the same product, but they ultimately have different use cases.
