"Helpful expert support and automated investing, but limited to the UK"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

I like Betterment at Work because it offers free consultations with financial experts and has friendly, responsive customer support. It also gives me helpful insight into savings and crypto investing, which supports my long-term planning. On top of that, the platform automates investing, making it a reliable and efficient tool for me to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

The only downside is that it isn’t available internationally, as it’s currently limited to users in the USA Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The 401(k) program from Betterment at Work is very simple"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

Before using Betterment at Work, our company did not offer a 401(k) plan which made it difficult to recruit and retain employees looking for employer sponsored retirement plans. Establishing a retirement plan for a small group of employees appeared to be overly complicated due to the compliance requirements and paperwork; however, using Betterment at Work’s system has allowed us to establish a 401(k) plan and allow our employees to begin saving for retirement rather than only allowing them to contribute to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), which has higher contribution limits. What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

The fees appear to be too expensive for what is offered to a small business and there are too many things that you need to help with or be told what to do. The mobile application for the website is very poor. Also this may be petty, however, I think the selection of investments available through Betterment at Work is limited. "Smarter employee retirement benefits management"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

The thing that I like about Betterment at Work is that it is transparent about charges and investment portfolio. The platform is transparent on costs, and this is often inquired of by the employees and this creates trust. The process of implementation was organized and it assisted us in the roll out without any confusion. I also like the fact that the staff members log in frequently to check on their progress and this indicates that they feel more engaged in their financial planning. What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

One of the weaknesses of Betterment at Work is a limited choice of investment courses, in favor of more advanced investors. There are some seasoned staff members of our organization who would want to have expanded control of their portfolios. Although the platform addresses general needs, it might be inadequate to meet the needs of very specific funds. This has resulted in additional meetings to clarify constraints and set and regulate expectations regarding the flexibility of the retirement plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"I’ve noticed that it really helps more employees get involved"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

My favorite feature of Betterment at Work is that it made managing the retirement of employees easier. Once it was implemented, we connected it to payroll and contributions became smooth. I apply it to various occasions as often as onboarding and benefits season, and this makes our HR processes effective. The features which provide customized investment advice and tracking of progress will provide enough features so that the employees can have a chance to plan their retirement without overloading our staff with questions and handwork. What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

Betterment at Work has weaknesses. Although it does a good job in contributions and tracking of goals, it is not very flexible in extracting detailed reporting information. The size of features is good on the whole, although the creation of detailed reports can involve the exportation of data and restructuring. Since we also use frequent reporting when we are reviewing benefits, this introduces additional work to the HR department as well as slows the decision making process when making changes. "Empowers Employee Financial Wellness Seamlessly"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

I like the 3.9% reserve APY, boosted for 2026. By integrating a high yield savings account directly into the same platform as the 401k, Betterment at Work has helped our staff build emergency funds. We've seen a noticeable decrease in 401k loan requests because our employees finally have a liquid safety net earning a market-leading rate. It turns the 401k platform from a once-a-month check-in into a daily financial tool for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

The employer dashboard can sometimes be a bit information heavy. While I appreciate the granular data on participation rates and average balances, I'd love a simplified at a glance view for our executive board meetings that summarizes the plan's health in three or four key metrics without all the technical jargon. "Streamlined Compliance and Intuitive Tax Planning"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

I really like the super catch-up automation for employees aged 60 to 63, especially given that the limits for this age bracket increased significantly to $11,250. Betterment at Work was the only provider we found that had this feature. I also appreciate that it automatically notifies eligible employees of their higher limits and manages the glide path for their investments, shifting them into lower volatility bond tiers without them needing to be financial experts. Furthermore, I find the data integration with Workday to be robust, allowing for real-time census updates, and the use of Slack to share Betterment's quarterly market insights videos helps keep our team engaged with their portfolios during market volatility. Betterment's mobile app is definitely ahead of the competition, which has led to a 40% increase in our participation rate since switching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

I wish there was more white labeling available for the employee communications. While the Betterment branded emails are clean and professional, I'd love to be able to add our company logo and custom messaging to the enrollment invites to make them feel more like an internal benefit rather than a third-party service. "Revolutionized Our Financial Management"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

I use Betterment at Work as our comprehensive 401(k) and financial wellness engine, and it's really helped by actively managing our team's retirement goals rather than just holding money. It serves as our primary record keeper for both traditional and Roth accounts, and we utilize the 529 college savings integration and the 3.9% high yield cash reserve as foundational benefits for our staff, regardless of their tenure. I appreciate how Betterment has transformed a task that used to take a full day into just five minutes by automating the entire communication funnel, reaching out to employees as they hit eligibility milestones and syncing data back to our payroll system. The 2026 portfolio strategy update has been a game changer, instilling confidence in our staff. The actively managed bond funds help us navigate the shifting interest rate environment, providing a level of downside protection and opportunity that wasn't previously available. This, combined with the automated rebalancing, essentially gives us an institutional-grade investment committee at a much lower cost. The API connection with Rippling is flawless, seamlessly updating data without any manual input required. Betterment's curated portfolios offer impressive sophistication without complicating the user interface. The setup process was incredibly transparent, and the dedicated implementation manager ensured everything was compliant with the latest regulations, making the employee onboarding experience seamless, with most setting up their risk profiles within ten minutes. What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

The only real friction point I've encountered is in the custom match logic for employees with variable compensation like quarterly commissions. While the standard match works perfectly, setting up a true up match for a one time bonus still requires a bit of manual calculation on our end to ensure we don't exceed the annual limits. I'd love to see an AI driven match simulator that could automate those edge case scenarios in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Revolutionary Platform for Employee Financial Wellness"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

I utilize Betterment at Work as our end-to-end 401(k) and financial wellness partner because it acts as a comprehensive benefit for our diverse workforce. It provides our employees with access to sophisticated, automated portfolios, including socially responsible investing options and newer innovative technology and crypto ETF allocations. Betterment handles the heavy lifting of compliance and investment management, allowing us to focus on core operations. It solves the administrative drift with retirement plan management by automating tracking eligibility dates and manual contribution updates, which were a significant time sink and compliance risk. Betterment offers a modern, digital-native experience that encourages employees to save. I also value the proactive fiduciary role it plays, handling our annual testing and Form 5,500 preparations. The most valuable capability is the proactive automated reminder system and eligibility tracking. I appreciate the incredibly quick response from support, which was initially a concern for me. The integration with Gusto and Slack effectively helps our benefits department function without any manual intervention, making the systems seamless. The initial setup was a fantastic experience, and I was astonished at how quickly we transitioned to being live. The onboarding specialists handled everything smoothly, and the modern APIs made connecting the payroll a plug-and-play experience. Employees set up their accounts in minutes, and the feedback about the mobile app was overwhelmingly positive. Betterment's intuitive UI and transparent fee structure reduced business costs and improved employee sentiment. This ensures that no employee slips through the cracks and that our day one enrollment targets are consistently met furthermore the seamless integration with our payroll stack specifically gusto means that deductions and census data sync up almost instantly this same day sync eliminates the typical week long lag we experienced with older more traditional providers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

If I had to be extremely selective, I'd say that for our hyper advanced investors, the platform's set-it-and-forget-it nature can occasionally feel a bit restrictive compared to a brokerage window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smooth management of employees"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

I have now understood the value of Betterment at Work in relieving the burden of focusing on the benefits in terms of financial management through the automatic organization of the contributions. The payroll integration means that I am no longer concerned about the mismatches, and my usage rate remains high since it is integrated into my daily routine. The features that help the employees to navigate their choices make the difference between a bunch of questions that I would have received all the time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

Certain layout and control features are too rigid, and it made creating our benefits flow slightly more difficult when implementing it. The gaps are even more pronounced with our frequency of heavy usage. There is also responsiveness to customer support but a couple of spots still feel unsophisticated to what we desire as a more customized experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Financial Management with Modern Efficiency"
What do you like best about Betterment at Work?

I really like that Betterment at Work is our primary 401(k) and financial wellness platform, serving as the central hub for managing retirement accounts and syncing external accounts. This platform helps our team visualize their total wealth and manage goals beyond just a 401(k). It offers a sophisticated benefit that matches our company's modern culture. The standout feature for our HR team is the same-day payroll sync, which syncs almost instantly and ensures real-time data integrity. This means we spend zero time policing payroll data to ensure it matches 401(k) records. The no-touch integration with our payroll engine, Gusto, makes administration efficient. The user interface is also intuitive for our employees, and the administrative pricing is transparent. I appreciate their clean mobile experience and the dedicated onboarding specialist who made the initial setup super simple. The platform's plug-and-play nature and modern code enabled us to get up and running quickly. Finally, I value how they have turned a historically painful administrative task into a seamless, automated success story for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Betterment at Work?

If I go back to our early days, my only real frustration was the support model for smaller employers. We initially didn't have a dedicated account manager and had to rely on a general support alias, which could feel a bit impersonal when we had specific plan questions. However, I'm pleased to say that after providing this feedback, the experience has completely changed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
