## Vista Reviews
  ### 1. Great Portal

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ximena R. | Human Resources Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista System offers a user-friendly and intuitive platform that greatly simplifies the management of both HR and accounting functions. Its clean and straightforward interface ensures accessibility, even for those with limited technical experience.

A key strength of Vista System is the seamless integration it provides between HR and accounting services. Employee records, payroll, benefits, and financial data are all interconnected, which helps eliminate duplicate data entry and reduces the likelihood of errors. This level of integration streamlines workflows and saves valuable time for different departments.

Whether you are onboarding new employees, processing payroll, or handling budget management, Vista System makes each task easier with its efficient tools and clear navigation. It stands out as a solid option for businesses seeking an all-in-one solution that combines power with ease of use.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

it would be great to see more customization options — especially the ability to adjust font sizes for better readability and personalize the dashboard layout. These small changes would make the system even more adaptable to individual user needs.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So far, the system has been exceptionally user-friendly. When a platform is easy to use, it naturally enhances efficiency for all users.

  ### 2. Broken Promises

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Overall, solid product offering. Support is usually quick and open SQL DB makes customization or self-patching possible.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

But, silly expensive and the ROI is not there. There are equivalent products for a fraction of the price. Discontinuation of concurrent licensing and on-premise support was the last straw. The price gouging of on-premise installations to force cloud adoption is a brutally unfair practice.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solves our ERP requiement with the added bonus of inventory and job costing.

  ### 3. Accounting & Risk Management Supervisor

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lori W. | Project Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The system's layout is easy to use, and I feel the screens make sense that are in the different categories. You can also customize a tab with folders for the screens that you use the most frequently or create folders with screens that you only use for a certain task once a year. Everyone in the same company can make it their own.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There are a lot of updates to do every year. A change was done recently that when you are in the AP Unapproved Invoice Items screen, if you enter an invoice that is over the purchase order amount or subcontract amount, the system will only change the status to **Ready** versus before it would give you a hard stop until it was fixed. Now it will take the invoice, allow it to be approved by the PM and then is not stopped until someone tries to post the invoice. It is a waste of everyone's time and still needs to be corrected. I would prefer the hard stop to come back, so you can correct this right away. Secondly, when the top half doesn't match the bottom half, it doesn't do a hard stop either.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is our primary software for our day-to-day business, so we solve problems all the time. The program/company is very reliable but can be slow in getting responses.

  ### 4. Cutting Edge Vista by Viewpoint Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bryce S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista has a great module based setup giving you an easy display of programs and reports. The modules cover many if not all areas construction companies would need. They consistantly are updating the software to mold the software to how users are utilizing it. They have webinars consistantly and are always keeping users informed. The core modules are very easy to utilize efficiently and effectively from the get go. Almost every part of my job is within Viewpoint. It's a complete

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

It takes a lot of setup to get started (It's an ERP so I expected that). I'd recommend getting a consultant to assist. A few modules are out dated as a majority of the customer base do not utilize them (but they do still function quite well for being outdated).

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista allows us to enter almost every accounting aspect and store it. Extracting the data through reports and sql queries allows instant access. Users have access to information immediately rather than having to wait for accounting to print a report for them. They have the ability to get the information they are looking for whenever, where ever.

  ### 5. Viewpoint Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon G. | IT Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Viewpoint is pretty much an all inclusive product. Once they bought Keystyle, that brought in a lot of the missing pieces. It's also extremely customizable. They're also in the process of rewriting Vista into a web version. I'd expect this to take 2-3 years to fully flesh out.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

We've had to write a few things to help the payroll department process payroll that were in our old software by default. Their reports also leave a lot to be desired, so we use Excel for most of that instead. Viewpoint is also extremely slow to implement valid customer suggestions.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Check out the competition to see if they have as much integrated without having to use 3rd party software. I would highly doubt it.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to pull data out through SQL, write inquiries and notifications in Vista itself, has been extremely helpful.

  ### 6. Accounts Payable in Vista

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Angie M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista has the flexability to do almost anything I need. Once you are familiar with the different modules, you can create custom reports for almost any need. Visa has so many features that it can seem overwhelming at first, but once you see the basic steps and how they are repeated in different modules it becomes much easier to use.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Updates often cause disruption while the kinks are worked out, but the Vista team works hard to find work-a-rounds to help while issues are resolved.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My primary use of Vista is paying vendors in a timely manner. I appreciate the ease of entering invoices along with mulitiple programs for varies needs. When I talk to my vendors I often hear about their software limitations and I am aware how robust Vists is how it helps me complete my work.

  ### 7. Staying in Tune

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista has made our company thrive by allowing easy multi-department communication throughout our entire company. We are able to utilize reports and project information that has been input into the Vista system in which allows us to "Stay in Tune" with how each office/location is doing. Vista makes it easy to create your own reports with specific information to properly diagnose any issues; along with propoviding data on what is helping with our success.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Our current use of Vista is utilized throught our entire company; therefore there are reports and data entered and revised by multiple people in multiple locations. This causes some issues to arise as the reports built for one busisness level don't always provide the informtion needed for another business level. This causes multiple reports with the same information to be made or reports to be over written". Having too many reports makes things "messy" and time consuming.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista allows a multi location company like ours, run smoothly. We are able to track our project progress, track quantities of product, track/schedule our equipment, etc.

  ### 8. Viewpoint by Vista is the best accounting software for construction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Grant M. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Viewpoint lets you customize how it works but still is a working ERP out of the box. They also have excellent customer support via their clear view portal. I use the chat function and knowledge base articles whenever I have a question.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Releases seem to be rushed sometimes and can have bugs. I would recommend setting up a sandbox test environment.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Vista recently was bought by Trimble. This is a good thing because Trimble does not have a competing ERP system. I think the will continue to grow and improve Viewpoint by Vista.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Vista to process payroll and manage job costs

  ### 9. Strong Overall Package

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Corey H. | CFO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Overall, the capabilities of Vista are very strong. It can handle just about everything you can throw at it. We've been able to add many customizations along the way to make it even more useful to our organization. They're also building out the software's web-based version, which adds flexibility and functionality.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Customer support could use some improvement. They've also recently moved most of the payroll reporting to Aatrix, which used to be handled in-house. This adds additional expense and lessens the value of the package overall.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting everyone on the same platform. Reduce double entry of data. Increase visibility into project performance.

  ### 10. Vista is well able to handle very complex payroll

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colleen K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista payroll is highly adaptable and an excellent choice for construction payroll. We are able to job cost, manage equipment and update project projections right from payroll. This ensures the largest cost in any project, labor, is acurately reflected for all that need to mange. Vista payroll also integrates easily with most time capture software.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Vista payroll reporting is limited. Many of our reports rely on customizations and/or database query. The Vista consultants are very helpful in creating the customizations.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista ensures that when payroll posts it updates everything from job billing to project forecasts.

  ### 11. We use Vista along with GCPay and it works very well for our company.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lanay B. | Sr. Subcontractor Accounts Payable, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

It works well with the GCPay program we are currently using for our construction needs.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There are a few needs that we would like to have without paying more.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updates sometimes can be an issue.

  ### 12. It's been a wild ride

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

how user freindly the software is. How Vista really looks at our suggestions on ways to improve the software.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

When things are updated and something gets turned on that I have to go look to see what has been done.
Response time when I mark a case as urgent and it still takes hours for someone to get back to you.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think there are alwasy issues that we run into and have to put in a support call, they are always very helpful in resolving the issue.
we do still have the issue of running large reports, I am not sure where Vista is on getting this fixed.

  ### 13. Efficiency Unleashed: A Review of Viewpoint Construction

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Will M. | Systems Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista project management tools have significantly enhanced our workflow, ensuring efficient collaboration and seamless project execution.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

While Vista offers robust features, there's room for enhancement in terms of reporting using business intelligence, which could further optimize our user experience.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Data Centralization: Vista centralizes project data, making it easily accessible to relevant team members. This centralized approach reduces the likelihood of data discrepancies and the cloud-based servers greatly improve accessibility.

  ### 14. Director of Accounting Technology

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris B. | President, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is very customizable and is a powerful ERP that can be connected to other software.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The technical support is not very timely. As a whole the support people know the product, it is just that there are not enough and it takes too long to get problems resolved.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our all-in-one solution for accounting, payroll, job costing, project management, equipment, etc. We use almost every module available.

  ### 15. New to Vista - but implementing is going great due to resources and ease of system!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abigale K. | Human Resources Generalist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Our company is currently switching from another HRM to Vista and so far the process has gone so smoothly. The ample resources and online trainings are much appreciated. Vista is easy to navigate and customize to our organizations needs.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Not having state W-2s already in the onboarding process like the federal W-2 is.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Combining Payroll and HR processes into one system to decrease manual entry and human error.

  ### 16. Extremely Capable, fantastic service and can be confusing at times

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is a very capable all-inclusive construction management software. It can do anything you want and the service/help is nothing short of fantastic

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

It's difficult for a medium sized business to pare down all of the features to just the ones that we need. It can get convuluted and confusing at times.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying on top of Equipment management, Accounting integration across all lines, production tracking.

  ### 17. Vista improves our operations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Darcy P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista allows us to see the big picture when it comes to operations and profitability. It is very user friendly and the transition from our previous system(s) was well orchestrated.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

It does not integrate with all of our external systems

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us greater visibility in inventory controls and job performance. Both provide necessary metrics to analyze profitability.

  ### 18. Comprehensive Accounting System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaughn N. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I love that Vista encompasses all aspects of accounting into one system forcing AP, AR, Purchasing, Payroll, Service, Tool Tracking and more to all sync. I have seen both sides where one company changed Vista very little out of the box and used Vista to enforce standard processes and work flows that could be incorporated with ISO and LEAN very easily. Another company customized everything. They added all sorts of new fields, tabs, reports and more. Since all of the data is in one place you can virtually create any report needed. If the data is there you can report on it. It is detail oriented but you can do as much with it as you are willing to put into it. It also has great security if needed. You can lock one role from updating or even seeing other roles as needed. And you can limit what jobs or details you want a specific user to get access to. You can even turn on auditing and tell who did what as needed to look back and see who changed that.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The more you want the software to do the more detail oriented it becomes. It becomes a training issue that you have to teach your people to enter things correctly if the process is to flow smoothly. Vista is adding new features all the time but it still is a bit bulky. It is become more user friendly but it can still be a bit hard for new users to pick up.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista has really opened up a lot more for HR and onboarding new hires. We have switched over to doing all new hires in the onboarding portal and we are expanding out hiring advertising within the portal.
A few years back we put all our contracts and agreements in the Create& Send templates and use those for all the legal documents. It knows to attach which lien waivers to which states and such. We are watching the Service options and field tools expand and hope to use more of those in the future.

  ### 19. Sr. Controller

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** kathryn k. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is a one stop shop for all of your accounting needs. Payroll, Job Costing, Service. You don't need any other software to cover your needs

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Going to the cloud was a bit of a challenge

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Job Costing,

  ### 20. Custom Report Developer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa K. | President, Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The ability to easily create custom reports. For the most part, the table structure is logic.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

CUSTOMER SERVICE! I feel like Trimble's customer service continuously goes downhill

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I don't really have any issues with the program that Vista needs to resolve.

  ### 21. Vista

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yvonne C. | Applications Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I find the most helpful tool in Vista is the Work Centers. We teach our employees to start and end their day in the Work Center. Lots of information on one screen, and it is easy to move back and forth through different modules to get quick answers. And if you need to make updates or changes, just a double-click takes you there.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Not being able to customize certain Grid Views within a program module at a global level. A lot of time could be saved by allowing an administrator to set up the company-preferred view one time rather than every user needing to repeat a process with directions or instructions or another seasoned user helping them get their screens in the proper order

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralizing job information in one location and eliminating manual processes that were done in the past. Information can be obtained by running reports or going to the Work Center without having to send emails and request information from other departments or personnel.

  ### 22. Comprehensive & Flexible Software for Construction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirk M. | Controller, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

We switched to Vista 10 years ago looking for an integrated solution as our production and accounting were on separate systems. After looking at several solutions, we chose Vista because of the flexibility and its ability to comprehensively cover everything that we needed as a general contractor. They are constantly making improvements to the platform, and most shortfalls that the program has, they either have a strategic partnership with a company to fill those gaps, or just outright integrate them into the software itself. Being SQL based, adding additional 3rd party programs for 2 way integration has been a breeze.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

If you choose Vista, make an effort to have a dedicated team work on the program. Because of its flexibility, you are not getting a canned program that you can start and go. Taking the time to have champions and do it right pay big dividends in the end.

Some of the ways to get information out of Vista is a little difficult just out of the box, especially on the financial side They have offered a free 3rd party solution to assist.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Take the time to evaluate all of the software that you can. We did and the answer was Vista. Do you want a SQL based program that can support many other additional snap on products that you might want/need? Is your current ERP in a SQL environment or some format that you can download information to upload into Vista to start? If you come to the same conclusion we did, have a dedicated team in place for setup to champion the processes.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest business problems we are solving with Vista is time savings, less need for paper documents, and less of a need for meeting in person. With Vista, and a few additional snap on programs, we have automated the invoice processing and approval, credit card processing and insurance tracking. All 3 of these had long times needed for meeting with project mangers, keeping a ton of receipts, and having to meet in the office. In addition there were Excel logs and double entry into the system. Now all of this is fairly automated where a lot of this is done by someone else, and flows directly into the system with minimal efforts with review and approval.

  ### 23. VISTA & The Cloud

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Miranda W. | Human Resources, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The software itself is excellent, for the most part, easy to access. One extremely nice part about Viewpoint is the self-help features and their Knowledge Base. 9 times out of 10 you can find the answers to your problems by simply searching and reading the help articles. There is the 10% where you can't but submitting a case is as easy as it gets. The team is there to help you and will remove in to do so also. Building your own forms is a nice tool but it would be nice to turn off some of the warnings that are not helpful. Being able to have viewpoint one and HR management working closely together (one click of a button) definitely makes things easier. Being able to do your entire job in one software is nice!

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

When moving to the cloud it seems there is a bit of a delay in the response time when clicking applications, sometimes it also freezes. The move to the cloud was supposed to make it easier for service and MSI but it seems MSI still does not talk to HR management where we can do away with how they enter their time.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use VISTA for nearly everything in the accounting, payroll, and service side. Having a one stop shop for everything makes things far easier.

  ### 24. Extensive ERP Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Utilities | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Easy to get around and customizations. Extensive features. Importing and Exporting is easy to use. All of your modules tie together for job costing.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The integration between outside software can be very hard to integrate. Takes a database expert to tie tables to the feeds.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are forcing every company to the Cloud. This will benefit us by giving us more availability to other features.

  ### 25. Vista review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaydence B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista has helped me have better organization and made it easier to access information that I need quickly.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Sometimes in the morning, it will take forever to load.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping me to track the license and laptops that the company has paid for. It benefits me by helping me have details on everything and track it back to employees, so I don't have to spend hours trying to track it manually.

  ### 26. A very positive experience and very user friendly.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jared D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The people are what make Vista great. Both people working with for Vista and the wider community of user.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

I would say the major downside of using Vista only comes in to play if you have not migrated to the cloud.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista serves as our ERP so everything that comes with that. Without it our day to day doesnt happen.

  ### 27. My overall experience with Vista has been awesome!

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

What I dislike about Vista is the Webinars are usually during the time of work, thus I am not able to attend them as frequently as I would like.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

What problems Vista is solving is the previously diffifult communication with our accounting department to the actual construction side of things.

The software is extremely sophisticated and can be tailored to fit the company’s needs.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Sometimes support is difficult to get. However, the company has made significant steps in improving customer experience.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this to manage all of our accounting and project management needs.

  ### 31. Vista by Viewpoint Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mary S. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista tracks all our job needs. We are able to track subcontracts, job status and payments in one system.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There are some processes that are complicated and not easy to understand. There are a lot of fields that need to be filled in in order to properly report data. Can be time consuming for data entry accountants.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Vista is a powerful software and I would highly recommend for tracking jobs. There are a few programs that require in depth knowledge but can be easily be trained.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to track payments to vendors and make sure they are not overpaid without a signed PO. We are able to track jobs and review when cash flow is negative.

  ### 32. Daily user as Asst Controller

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2024

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Cloud based, Customer Support, Ease of Integration

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Reporting is lacking, and Pennsylvania local tax reporting is complicated

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Aatrix tax reporting has been helpful

  ### 33. Vista Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steve B. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

It's construction software that encompasses all aspects of the business. It has modules for everything from equipment monitoring to service work. It's a one-catch-all accounting software for construction companies.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Support sometimes lacks. Being forced to move to the cloud is not very comforting. Pricing is somewhat expensive, especially when being told we have to move to the cloud.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's very uniform software for all aspects of our business. We have a service department, and the service management module is very good. We use equipment, and having that module is very helpful as well.

  ### 34. Great accounting software, construction specific metrics.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Liane S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Great for construction accounting and job cost functionality. Our company used quickbooks prior and found it lacking in many areas compared to what Vista offers. Highly recccomend.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

More costly than a quickbooks type program. Has good metrics if you upgrade to the online cloud version but also that is more costly and we haven't upgraded yet due to cost.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Construction and job cost accounting. Helps with job cost analysis and drilldowns are helpful for researching data. Good program with good reports. Takes time to learn all its nuances.

  ### 35. Vista A Great Construction Accounting Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is a program that is relatively easy to use and understand once you get the hang of it. It allows you to tackle AP, AR, Payroll, and other programs for accounting use. Vista has many helpful reports when looking for transactions or additional varying information.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Due to Vista being on the cloud, it halts work if the network is down on either side at any point. Some programs are slow regardless due to how the system works.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating invoices and receiving payments from customers is a simple process that is generally quick and easy to do. You can use many systems, such as POs, that can be integrated into paying invoices.

  ### 36. Fan of Vista

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2018

**What do you like best about Vista?**

My new favorite addition to the Employee Portal is Automatic Invoicing. It's a game-changer that has made it much easier to tackle the incoming invoices.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Although Vista has made it easier to log in with one login ID, navigating through the 4 Viewpoint Customer Success Resources is still tricky. I would like to see something that is more user-friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

I would recommend Vista because it is easy to use, has a variety of very useful canned reports, and makes month end work a breeze!

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is always looking at solving problems; they are currently working on HR Action Items and will implement each stage as it is completed in upcoming updates.

  ### 37. Vista Software Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I love the Accounts Payable module, specifically AP Unapproved Invoice Entry. Being able to drag and drop invoices straight from emails into Viewpoint Teams and then upload them to AP Unapproved Invoice Entry has been a game changer. I also appreciate AP Vendor Drilldown, as it allows you to see any AP payments made to any vendor and allows for easy invoice/vendor research.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There seems to be some glitches with Vista as it throws up a lot of error messages and sometimes takes forever to load. It is very easy to accidentally change information in most modules. For example, I have experienced a lag issue and think I'm typing in the filter bar but am instead replacing important info in one of the line items without realizing and next thing I know my info is overwritten.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is helping our business as it transitions from a smaller company to a larger medium sized company. We are dealing with a lot more subs and customers than in the past and Vista helps ease the processes involved with receiving payments and billing for so many jobs/customers.

  ### 38. Viewpoint/Vista Financial Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

There are multiple modules to choose from, which you can select based on your company's needs.
You are able to add user-defined fields if needing more specific details for your company.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The reports are the downside. Anytime you want a change made or a report made specific for your company, it costs. If you are familiar with Crystal Reports, you can write custom reports. And Viewpoint warns that the custom reports may not be supported with any update.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is our leading financial software from accounts payable, receivable, and employee information to our financials. We are able to use the software in our satellite offices by access through the web portals.

  ### 39. Great and Versatile

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

When first learning what Vista is and how to utilize the application, it can seem very overwhelming and there are a lot of moving parts to it, but that is the nature of ERPs. This application is great and as a systems administrator, I love it. Support is usually on the ball and pretty responsive, their knowledge base answers most of my questions and their Viewpoint Academy provides great training content. We are all about automation and making our jobs easier, and we love how this application can cater towards that.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

I would appreciate more training/videos/classes for IT administrators that covers all aspects of being an admin for this software. There are bits and pieces of training, but nothing that really covers it all. It took time to learn everything I've know about Vista and training new upcoming admins with proper videos/classes would be great.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As time goes on, Vista is gearing towards field use, which our employee's love. Being in the field and having access to critical data allows those PMs and superintendents to make informed decisions while on a job site. This has also helped remove 95% of paper timecards, which has streamlined payroll's job when processing timecards. We love how this application provides the platform to automate or streamline a process, we are always on the look out when updates happen, trying to see if there is a new feature that we can utilize to help employee's improve their processes.

  ### 40. Viewpoint Vista - Accounting Fun

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Once you get used to the Vista operating software, many of the modules become more recognizable to understand, creating a sense of familiarity when working with the software.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Viewpoint Vista is not the most user friendly for the field staff, who often have slower internet speeds to no internet speeds and can require some time to get used to the software.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Viewpoint Vista allows us to translate multiple fields from estimating, project management, job cost control, scheduling and collaboration to the back office. While helping maximize our job profitability, increase efficiency, and improve collaboration.

  ### 41. Vista not right choice for small-medium construction businesses

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is a very powerful accounting and project management software.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The software is expensive. Support is very tough to get a hold of and they want to charge you for every fix and customization.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is very frustrating to use.

  ### 42. Viewpoint review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Since the purchase of Viewpoint by Trimble we have seen a lot of investment in making Viewpoint better overall for users and support has increased.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Recent change to Aatrix for tax reporting. I believe Viewpoint thought it was easier to outsource.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

I would look at Vista for construction accounting versus other softwares.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Viewpoint offers a cloud alternative to on premise. This should give most companies a better security posture and ease of access.

  ### 43. Easy to run reports

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Reports are very easy to run and can be customized.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

I really wish that I didn't have to open multiple different applications to accomplish one task. Change orders take so many windows! The other thing is the program looks very dated, like it is from 1994 or something.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is nice to be able to track subcontractor compliance in SL compliance. I like that it works well with Procore.

  ### 44. Vista is an all inclusive tool that allows for proper project and cost management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eddie W. | Senior Project Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The functionality to pull data to your specific needs.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Presentation of the data in standard reports could be better and pricing is sometimes not clear.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Work through connected construction between design, accounting, and construction

  ### 45. New user learning the ropes.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The software works well, and the customization options seem great. They've definitely been utilized in our company!

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Online training can sometimes be outdated. For example, Viewpoint Acadamy's Import training videos look different than what we see. Not extreme, but it sometimes makes connecting the dots a bit of a hurdle.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use this to manage all of our accounting needs. It's nice to have it all under one roof.

  ### 46. Vista

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The customizability with UD Fields and financial strengths with job costing are Vista's strengths. Additionally, T&M Billing is an underrated program with how helpful it can be.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There is no paid when paid process without creating one yourself. They should consider updating AP to incorporate this and monthly close to be by module. Also, updates to AP should be able to happen similar to AR rather than be so inflexible.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista currently solves project financials well. The UD capability allows processes to be embedded into the software. Project Management is lacking within Vista, but the focus is now within Teams.

  ### 47. Best option for fully-integrated construction ERP.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bob G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The ability to customize the system for our specific needs and the commitment of Trimble to keep up with emerging technologies are the best.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Not much, other than some of management's decision-making regarding developing new features before fixing some minor issues with the system.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping standardize internal procedures needed for SOX compliance and replacing disjointed spreadsheets and manual workflows.

  ### 48. Vista Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Very customizable to meet business needs

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Out of the box, the system needs heavy integration and is not intuative for users

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating opportunities to report on key business decisions

  ### 49. Vista - Incredible Software for Cost Tracking in Construction

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is a very in depth software, and can be overwhelming with all that it can do. Clearview is their resource portal in which you can find learning videos for each module and ask questions to find answers on how to do things, research errors, and figure out so many things. Often times I search for answers on an issue I am having and end up learning so much more that I had no clue how to do! Most support techs are very helpful when submitting tickets as well. I have not run into too many things that cannot be done with this software.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Often times, my support tickets are not something that needs immediate attention, so they take a little longer to get resolved. Sometimes responses can take up to 5 days. Response times have gotten better in the last 6 months though.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

The Viewpoint Collaborate Conference is another invaluable tool. I have made so many networking connections at the conference that we still utilize to learn and get better. We have grown in knowledge and building upon our system so much after meeting companies and people who can help us grow and better utilize our system.
Update: Viewpoint is constantly growing/revamping in regards to help tools and tutorials/videos. I have learned so much from these. They are changing to keep up with demands on helping customers. This is also invaluable when bringing a new person on board in the office. They can dig into the help websites to increase what they know about Viewpoint without being a burden on other employees with tons of questions.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing job costs, using historical data for future estimates, payroll. Imports are a huge time saver for data entry.
Update: We have recently implemented Field Management for capturing time in the field. This has lifted a huge burden in the office as time is not being manually entered anymore. This saves time, lessens the possibility for mistakes. We also capture equipment hours the same way. This has been a game changer for us!

  ### 50. Vista- Accounting Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The layout of Vista is user-friendly, with customizable folders.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The support team is often slow to respond.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have access to real-time data.
