## Vista Reviews
  ### 1. Process Forward Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

During the increased "work from home" environment, we were so glad that we had made the investment in Vista. We were already set up in the cloud, all of our users had laptops on their desks and it was a smooth transition for us to begin working from home. We were unclear how it was going to go, because as a Construction Company we had never done this. Having all our programs speaking together from the Field to the Office made it so easy for us.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

This program can be difficult for Operations since it is heavy in database entry. Once you get them on board, the information at your fingertips is invaluable.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Vista is a quality product that supports all functions of our company.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I would say the exact same thing I wrote above.

  ### 2. Vista/Keystyle/Team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy W. | Accounting Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that all of the packages are integrated. We are using Vista/Keystyle/Team. The software is easy to use and we have eliminated all these side spread sheets for our projects. Keystyle is for entering Employees time and it gets dumped right into Vista Payroll. We have come a long way.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

I with there was more reporting and a easy / economical way to create or modify reports in Vista.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our data is timely and not weeks behind. The data is also way more accurate

  ### 3. Vista for all of your construction needs

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista allows us to keep our jobs, equipment, payroll and accounting under one platform. Everything connects so we can charge invoices and payroll to the jobs easily. There is plenty of reporting and we have the option to adjust reports to our needs as well. The security features also allow us to have everyone on the software by imposing restrictions to specific access when necessary. For example a user may have access to all job information, but cannot see any information regarding payroll.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Support needs some work. When I am having trouble with the system, I would like to call and get an answer regarding the problem. Waiting a few days for a response is not helpful when you are in the middle of something important that you need to complete. The support staff needs better training as well. Sometimes the answer is "no, you can't do that" and then they close the case stating that the problem has been solved, which can be frustrating.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best benefit of Vista is that it stores all of our information for multiple companies under one login.

  ### 4. Excellent Choice for Construction

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like how much you can customize stuff to fit what you need. Whether its reports or custom fields in portals and programs you can make it work for you. Their help desk is also fabulous.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There are so many modules sometimes. Once you learn the program its fine, but it can be confusing at first remember what to go to for what as well as how many steps.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Be patient with the onboarding, but its worth it in the end!

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like that the program covers everything we need. From projections to job set up, to AP/AR, payroll, HR, everything. We arent running several different software's, which helps!

  ### 5. The customer service is excellent - so when you have an issue support is always on hand

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gretchen L. | Project Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Viewpoint Academy is used for new hires to learn how to use the system - knowledge base for those one off questions you have - the reports of the data I need - all the programs that can be added to Vista.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Too many different reports with the closeness in the titles (being similar names)- never got how to use crystal reports - in puting having difficulties with.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is continuing improving their services to be more customer friendly and the training programs including the webinars are always keeping the customer informed with current issues in the industry.

  ### 6. I have had all good things with Vista, super easy to learn and to navigate.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gage Q. | Administrative Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 07, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The easy navigation and the ability to learn.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

I do not have anything I dislike about Vista in my time using it.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think a problem other software similar to Vista do not have the education opportunity and courses available.

  ### 7. ACCOUNTING & PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRODUCT

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The Vista Product suite are fantasic tools to assist with your construction business accounting and project management requirements. the sheer customisation options available make it suitable for a range of businesses

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

the customisation options are a bit daunting, and the interface can seem outdated but once you work with the product you quickly realise the potential benefits that can be extracted.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

contractor compliance is a big issue in our business and vista helps us track and keep on top of that issue. this allows our team to be compliant and more efficient

  ### 8. Extensive Accounting and Project Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elisabeth M. | Accounts Payable Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista has extensive functionality for Accounting and Project Management processes, and I like that programs can be customized to store new pieces of information. While the user interface can seem pretty outdated, and the learning curve can be a bit daunting for new users, Viewpoint has made self-help tools and a good amount of documentation on different modules accessible, which is very helpful. Ease of navigation and confidence comes with time, patience, and good support/training.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

My biggest issue as a person responsible for offering internal support for Vista and assisting with reporting is that any custom reports need to be handled by a third-party software. In my company's case, the barrier of training to use SAP Crystal and the cost to license the software means that in order to access our carefully maintained data, we have to resort to using consultants. I do feel that this negatively affects our agility as a company. Since Vista is so customizable/extensive, sometimes it is very convoluted where information is stored and what fields a report is drawing from without the third party software. Overall, due to the amount of detail that can be captured, Vista can be an incredible reporting tool as long as you have adequate resources to retrieve that information.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is capable of capturing an incredible amount of project details and changes, and understanding how all of the pieces come together gives an invaluable look at both the minute wins and losses, as well as the big picture changes for the company as a whole.

  ### 9. Comprehensive System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaughn N. | Application Support Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like that Vista encompasses all the business systems in one place. Everything must tie out, Purchasing, AP, Payroll, all tie to job cost and can track every penny. If one is right then they all are right. I love the Vista support as needed. I can CHAT wtih them to get help when I am stuck on how to fix an issue.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Vista still struggles with certain modules like Service and EM. They work but are slow and cumbersome. Not as user friendly as I may hope for. Not knowing the known issues before a release is downloaded. If I know of certain issues I may delay an update until they are fixed. But it is hard to find known issues ahead of time. We often have to upgrade and find them on our own.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have worked with multiple companies that use Vista. One that stuck with the basic out of the box forms that did great with syncing up all the various departments like Purchasing, AP, Payroll, Billing so that everything was accounted for. They eventually fought to get daily costing so that they have as up to date as possible cost for T&M billings and projections. Other companies that I have worked at customize everything. Vista allows us to add user defined fields to track things that other companies may not need, but that are important to us. I am often amazed at the creative ways to fix issues that our team has come up with.

  ### 10. The advantages of Vista far outweigh any problems encountered!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I love that the program is able to be customized to fit the differing needs of a variety of companies within the construction industry. There are so many ways to make the existing base platform work to do exactly what each department needs it to do.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There have been some hiccups in connection quality that have created a "lag time" when working in Vista at times. We love the cloud environment, but sometimes have to deal with slow response times when working in Vista.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Don't be afraid to try something new. Always keep striving to learn something new about Vista and it's capabilities - the program can be invaluable if you aren't afraid to jump right in and get your feet wet!

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been able to create custom reports based on actual and current data very easily in Vista. It has streamlined our accounting, purchasing, project management and service departments to be more efficient, leading to higher customer satisfaction and happier employees.

  ### 11. Great Product, wish support was better.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The accounting process is easy and user friendly and the improvements to the approval process is great. The Project Manager module needs to be improved and not just pushed to TEAM. But, that being said, the job cost module is user friendly and the processes are good.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Customer Support is slow to get back and sometimes non-responsive. You have to stay on them to get help. Their "Issues" sometimes do not get looked at and fixed. Also, there are never any upgrades to the actual project, such as Project Management. They want you to go to their web based products, which is fine, but also need to upgrade the Vista product.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Look into the ViewpointOne group of products, don't just get Vista.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting; such as AP and Billing. The process time has helped and is a great benefit. The process of cost projections has also benefited for the project review. We are also able to send out notifications for Submittals and RFI's.

  ### 12. Vista and it's ease of use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I love the network between users. I also love the new help features!

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

There aren't many downsides. Whenever I have questions about something I go to the Network and there is always someone to help!

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's made payroll so much easier, as well as AP and processing invoices.

  ### 13. Strong and continually improving construction software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris R. | Technical Project Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

We've used Vista for many years now. They have continually been advancing their construction software. We love using Team and Field View to track our project management and quality control items. Their customer service has also been amazing to work with. Whether it be through live chat or submitting a ticket, they are quick to respond.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The downside is having to use different logins for each program. It would be much easier if they made it all-inclusive.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Go for it. This program is great for all of your project management needs and is always improving. It meets all of our needs and then some.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista greatly impacted our productivity by simplifying/streamlining how we track our project management documents.

  ### 14. Vista by Viewpoint Product Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris G. | Accounting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like the customization tools allowed to introduce shortcuts and timesavers.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The business model for pricing can be a tough hurdle to get passed.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

If your size business is compatible with the financial commitments to using Vista by Viewpoint then this software will be a complete solution for you. I recommend doing a slow implementation before you go live. If you can bring on former users as consultants for implementation, that would definitely ease the transition.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is a one stop shop for construction accounting software. Having everything centralized is important to prevent duplicate data entry. This allows us to focus more on other tasks critical to winning projects.

  ### 15. Project Management, Accounting and Construction Administration Solved

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randall J. R. | Structures Division Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The best attribute of Vista is that it is a comprehensive accounting and project management system. Everything one needs to manage a project is available within the software if you choose to use it in that fashion. If you decide to use other tools, like Excel, queries and reports can be exported to Excel format for further analytics.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The interface is getting a little dated. The entire package would benefit from an overhaul that rids one of the multiple windows that open each time you make a selection. In today's market, users expect simple drop-downs and tabs to navigate rather than a separate window opening with each activity or lookup.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Job cost reporting is much easier than our previous system. Forecasting is very useful and relatively straightforward after an initial learning curve. Submittal tracking is much better as everything is in one place and tracked.

  ### 16. CFO

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Natalie C. | CFO

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

SQL Data Extraction is one of the most helpful tools we use for our various team analytics. Data importing capabilities is the second most helpful tool to help with efficient data processing. These tools are not specific to Vista but how we best navigate Vista to get the info we want and process the info we want.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Support services can have a time lag. I belong to CFMA and there have been several community posts regarding the unhappiness of Vista users and the response times of their support requests. There have been inconsistencies in the support times I have experienced. Some are quick; others have taken longer than I have wanted it to take. Their AR Cash Receipts form does not allow for search bar or filter capabilities which makes it very time consuming for us to post our deposits.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most of the problem solving I do involves using data we extract from Vista and then utilizing excel for higher-level analysis related to traits and characteristics specific to our business. We are a subcontract and Vista mostly configured to support the needs of a GC.

  ### 17. Vista very easy to navigate and use.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy G. | Information Systems Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I love the ease of use. Product is easy to navigate and utilize company wide. Report options are really robust. As updates come usability gets easier and more streamlined.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Support is lacking at times. Some directions that the company chooses to head end up costing companies more money as they enlist the help of third-party software to take over key roles that they used to handle internally. This third-party software now charges you directly, and the Vista software price per year remains the same.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Going paperless has been a major benefit for our company. Internal document management is a great tool.

  ### 18. Great Program for Construction!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Renee B. | A, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Payroll can charge time to jobs. GC Pay can be uploaded for subcontracts.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Mapping G/l accounts can be in multiple areas.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

This software is an effortless blend of job costing, billing & accounting.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Timecards are entered using the Portal, which creates a batch in Vista. Vista has a program that creates 941's.

  ### 19. Industry leading accounting software.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

We switched over to Viewpoint about a year ago and couldn't be happier with the software. The capabilities of the software are endless and having the ability to customize it to your liking is incredible.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

What we have found to dislike about Vista is the customer service. During our conversion and implementation process, we were constantly handed off from one rep to another. Our primary reason for switching to Vista was to upgrade our accounting/financial software, and with a consultant that wasn't knowledgeable on accounting practices or how the Vista software really worked, it was extremely difficult.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our processes are much more streamlined with Vista. We are no longer using separate systems for accounting, project management, and pre-construction.

  ### 20. Vista is a great Accounting product that allows you great flexibility

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Flexibility and extremely customizable. If you need to add custom fields or tables, the product can allow for this. It also allows you to create your own reports

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

They are moving 100% to the cloud. All new functionality is primarily only available in the cloud. If you like control of your servers and data this causes some issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Vista is one piece of the Viewpoint Package. The ViewpointOne experience will be worth it once it is complete.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We write less checks than before. Vista also allows for workflows to approve PO and Invoices. the communication with other Viewpoint products helps our employees streamline and not duplicate work.

  ### 21. Powerful Solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandon B. | President and CEO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The ERP is very powerful and covers the full suite of modules we need to operate our business, from material inventory to robust job cost. Having a single solution eliminates many tie-in products or apps.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The concept with TrimbleOne is excellent, the reality is we still have 3 separate platforms that have some "hotlinks".

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Jobsite time capture, production reporting, project management tracking and integrated change order management.

  ### 22. Great Functionality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle N. | Payroll Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I really like that Vista is customizable; it is easy to process, understand and find information when you're looking for it.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

When updates are processed, there are glitches, interface with HFF and Vista could be better, want the program/reports icons to be different.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Vista for everything, implemented it in our service side, and eliminated 3rd party software

  ### 23. Very Flexible ERP!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Randy S. | Applications Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is very flexible. You can create custom fields, custom reports or modify existing reports to suit your needs.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

It is not mobile-friendly, other than the Portal. Single Sign On (SSO) is still being worked on. Portal licenses are NUL's (Named User Licenses). For firms with a changing workforce, this makes it very time-consuming to manage.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A single source of truth for Project Management, Accounting, Service, Purchasing and other departments. Our Operations teams have much greater access to real-time reporting (labor, job costs, etc.).

  ### 24. Vista by Viewpoint

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 12, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is very customizable. You can create your own fields, build your own reports, and empower your end users. There are several modules for all parts of your business.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

We are currently running on-premise, and I feel like we will be pushed to the cloud soon. We are still unsure about if the custom apps we have built will work with their cloud version. Their project management module is very lacking.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista handles our accounting, job profitability, dispatching, payroll, and much more.

  ### 25. Vista in accounts payable

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

the online help is awesome when you are having an issue.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Not being able to reprint copies of processed checks and enough info on a check you voided

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great for doing payables.

  ### 26. Vista User for seven years.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is very powerful yet user friendly once the setup is complete (setup is crucial and should be well thought out). With the ability to set up user defined fields, it is possible to report almost anything that you would like.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Reporting is mainly through Crystal Reports so you are limited to the reports available and/or having someone on staff modify the Crystal Reports.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Definitely take your time with setting up and implementation - it will pay off in the long haul. Invest in someone on staff learning Crystal Reports.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting processes have been streamlined. Collaboration between field and office.

  ### 27. Project Manager

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Keith B. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Vista?**

The reports. Being able to track costs/expenses.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Once in a while it appears things do not sync correctly with our estimating software.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to help the company be more profitable.

  ### 28. Vista by ViewPoint

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joanna R. | P, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2021

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista encompasses every aspect of a busniess and the items needed to run it all within one system. The system also offers great customization options if their reports don't have what you are looking for. Their webbased help center is a great step by step resource.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

My previous company had so many customized reports that were not maintained over the years and as updates and improvements happened that never got worked on my company fell behind. this is not a software issues but rather an issue with just making sure someone is keeping up with these. The only software specific thing that I really disliked was the support team. They are on the west coast and sometimes when something was needed right away for an issue there was a long wait time to get a call back or an answer.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems and benefits are definitiely being able to keep everything in one place. One big problem was everything was a paperfile. With Vista you can move everything into digital files for employees and jobs etc and store everything in one place with setting specific accesses to still control privacy.

  ### 29. Viewpoint Vista and the implementation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trevor B. | Construction Technology Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2021

**What do you like best about Vista?**

it is very structured in what it can do. I like being able to lock down the menus so our operations team ca only see what they have access to

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

sometimes the connection drops over the RDP connection. If this was a truly web based software i think it would alleviate this issue, However with a program this robust and secure it would be hard to make cloud native.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Make sure that you set a clear plan for the implementation and set deadlines for training and crossing over from one platform to the other. having a set plan will ease the process to ensure it is as smooth as possible

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

it is our main solution for accounting once we finally make to transition . all of our data will be stored in a " central" to aid in better reporting and dashboards

  ### 30. Good Accounting Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I like how much I can do with the software. There seems to be something for just about every aspect of construction accounting.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

For a new user and someone beginning my career, the sheer amount of ability can be a little overwhelming at times.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accounting for a construction company

  ### 34. Great Accounting Software, incorporates some Project Management and HR features

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chaitra Z. | Business Process Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

This software does have all of the features that one would need to integrate accounting with project management and human resources, it integrates with other softwares.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

This software is at its core an accounting software, especially in look, feel and user interface. While it does have the functionality to do much more, the unfortunate thing is that many users outside of accounting roles will not find it intuitive at all. To integrate with other softwares, much back end work is required and often help is not provided by Viewpoint.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Make sure that your team is prepared to have extensive involvement during setup and implementation. Consider extra training for end users. Consider using accounting functionality alone, and integrating with other software for PM and HR functionality, most software that integrates have teams that handle the connection outside of Viewpoint, which is not really great once the sale has been made in terms of customer service.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently we solve the issue of having a fully functioning accounting software that is able to integrate with separate project management and HR software products.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista has been a great addition to our business, providing necessary reports, accurate information in real time, and generally increasing productivity by streamlining our processes. We were able to customize the software to meet our specific needs - and that has been invaluable!

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

With the customization we have done, there are some "growing pains" at times. When updates are released for Vista, it sometimes creates a problem with fields that have been customized. However, the support team at Viewpoint has always been helpful and timely in making sure we are able to get back to business quickly.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Go through the demo process and ask questions to see if Vista is a good fit for your company. If you find things that it is lacking, ask about customizations available to make the software better fit your needs.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our payroll processes have been streamlined with using Vista. It's no longer a long, drawn out process to get timesheets entered and payroll processed efficiently and accurately. Vista has taken away a lot of the "thinking" by allowing our team to enter data behind the scenes that then gets pushed through to payroll. A quick review of the payroll each week is all it takes - mistakes and human error have been removed from the equation as the software does all of the computations for you!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

The Viewpoint Vista software is able to track and automate almost any detail of construction costing and reporting. This is essential to managing multiple projects and create accurate forecasting and KPI metrics.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Steep learning curve and configuration of the tools make the this an expensive and extended implementation of tools.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Construction Project Management and tracking of documentation throughout the construction cycle. The primary benefits are scalable and repeatable process across all projects.

  ### 41. Vista Review

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2020

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Implementation is challenging. Investment and upgrade needed with Service Module

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 42. Customizable Software Makes Your Life Easier

Ease of use is always a great asset for any software. Especially when you have so many people working with it who have varying capabilities and understanding of technology. **What do you dislike about Vista?**

New releases should be made more clear to show all changes, corrections or additions to previous versions.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Better understanding and communication between finance and operations personnel. Great new ways to extract and use the data available in the software.

  ### 43. Standard reports are not easy to use.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Vista is good for recording transactions, and is easy to correct transactions in all of the modules.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The standard Crystal Reports are not the best way to see the data. Building custom SSRS reports has been the way to get data from the database.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

I recommend getting the Business Intelligence module to customize reports. It will be helpful for someone in the organization to understand SQL and report writing.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Vista is good in the Job Cost area. We are using the projection feature to finalize WIP each month.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Payroll is very flexible. We have the field key in timesheets daily for nearly 700 employees. The version of Vista we are using is in the cloud and that makes it very easy for us to access our software from anywhere. We also like the fact that data entry is in grid form and easy to read.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

The reports are bad. Very basic and need more options to see specific data. We are exporting alot of the reports into excel to get the data we are looking for. I hope in the near future they make improvements to their reports.

**Recommendations to others considering Vista:**

Vista is very flexible and can do many things. Our issue with payroll was solved by being flexible and having the capabilities to setup several pay items not standard in the software.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software is very detailed and takes time to get to know it and to get it setup correctly. The big benefit is that we can access our data with SQL and create the reports we need.

  ### 46. Vista is the most comprehensive accounting package for the construction industry.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James W. | Database Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2020

Vista's ability to customize the application is awesome.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Support is usually very responsive, but escalated issues can be a challenge.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Custom reporting solve virtually any questions that our customers/users have.

  ### 47. Vista is a solid Construction Software

Although the software seems complex, which it is, it is easy to get around. There are a lot of opportunities to customize the software to your liking.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Not Web Based. Users are looking to share and create web based reports and data.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are solving the accounting side of the company. We are benefiting from the work order functionality within SM.

  ### 48. Good ERP for Small/Medium Sized Construction Companies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

Great drilldown features
Extensive Knowledge Base available for troubleshooting
Fantastic online community

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Standard reports are too basic so customization always needed (add'tl cost)
Customer support often slow to respond

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Viewpoint has been adding additional applications to improve Vista's overall functionality. I'm a fan of the web-based Employee Portal

  ### 49. In it for the long-haul!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

They are much more than just a construction software company. They give so many helpful tips in every area of construction. They have so many resources to help you complete your job. So many of their employees have a thorough knowledge of how the construction industry operates.

They are so quick to respond when you have any kind of issue, whether its an error message or you don't know how to do something. They will call you and walk you through the process until you are satisfied with the solution. I've never been disappointed with their help!

They are open to suggestions for changes, which is important, as the ones using the software on a day-to-day basis are the best to offer suggestions.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

Recently, so much effort is in their cloud-based software, I wonder if we will ultimately have to all move to the cloud. Also, things tend be priced for large companies, that want all the bells and whistles. We are a smaller company and don't require all that they offer.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has created extra work and responsibilities for me. Viewpoint has been very active in helping us make our way through the maze of the options available and how to implement them in Vista.

Any time that I have a question about what can be done in Vista, there are resources to connect with other customers on how they use Vista. I have found many solutions through this avenue.

  ### 50. Somewhat Satisfied but Vista could do better

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Vista?**

I love that Vista is a one stop shop. We do not need to have multiple different applications from many different companies. Most of the time Vista has software/modules that fit what we are needing and we are able to expand our package.

**What do you dislike about Vista?**

My biggest issue the last several years has been the turn around time for Support Tickets. When I finally brought it up to the Manager of Support, she took the time to call me and personally went through all my issues, etc. I was really feeling good about it, until she dropped the ball and did not get back to me. When I followed up she had me confused with a different customer and then wanted me to let her know again what my issues were. I lost complete faith in having issues taken care of in a timely manner after this.

**What problems is Vista solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been a customer since 2009, going live in 2010. Most of our process's are going pretty smoothly but I am interested in expanding the areas we use in Field Management.
