  ### 1. Efficient Yet Clunky at Times

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

I find HR Plus pretty efficient and easy to navigate, making it straightforward to find what I need, such as pay statements, benefits, and information about holidays or PTO accrual. It's helpful in understanding my upcoming pay and reviewing pay statements for tax deductions. It's also pretty straightforward for tasks like insurance elections. Overall, I get transparency and the ability to self-service, finding information when I need it without waiting on others, and I haven't encountered too many speed bumps.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

There are very small, clunky moments. It doesn't stop me from finding or doing what I'm trying to do. But there can be moments that I'll click something, and it might not click the way that I expected it to click. For instance, I get really annoyed when that little notifications button is still there. In different sized screens, making sure that it is marked unread doesn't always happen as streamlined as I would like. And other times, if I'm being navigated to a third party website, like for 401k benefits, there is a check mark to not have to see that window again. Even though I've checked it a million times, it still appears. Nothing too detrimental, just small, clunky things that are kind of annoying, but ultimately aren't a big deal.

HR Plus gives me transparency to benefits and pay info, allowing self-service and timely access. It's efficient and easy to navigate, helping me understand PTO, pay, and insurance elections without hassle.

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

I like the self-service portal in HR Plus, which allows employees to request leave, view payslips, and even update their information. The feature that gives each employee a unique username and password for secure login, accessible both on desktop and mobile, is particularly helpful. Additionally, the overall setup of HR Plus was pretty easy for my team.

The UI/UX and also self service portal enhancement

I use HR Plus to manage HR functions efficiently, solving employee management, payroll, and compensation issues. The self-service portal is great for employees to request leave, view payslips, and update info effortlessly, all accessible via desktop or mobile.

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

The interface is simple and clean and easy to navigate. It's user friendly for both the employer/admin and employees. I love that employees have the ability to interact with the portal autonomously to get the info they want and reduce the support requests for HR.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

Zenefits would be perfect if only it had dedicated support reps assigned to customer accounts. The amount of time spent getting new/random customer service rep up to speed with the backstory and context for a question can be rather inefficient and frustrating. The implementation process took longer than originally estimated, but that's fairly common with company transitions to new programs.

**What problems is HR Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Zenefits solves the problems associated with a single person HR department at a smaller company. It allows me to provide more robust support to employees by the readily available access to their employee portal. It save me time wasted on data entry by allowing employees to make their own changes (adress, marital status, tax withholdings, etc.)

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

While Zenefits may be a recognizable name in the payroll service industry, it has unfortunately fallen short in covering all aspects of W2 functionalities. My most pressing disappointment with this service is the inability to send donations directly from my pay check. This might seem like a minor issue for some, but for employees who are committed to charitable donations, this proves to be a considerable inconvenience.

Rather than having the streamlined process of automatic paycheck donations, employees are left with the cumbersome task of writing their own manual checks. So, there's the added wait time to file taxes, after which they will only then receive a tax credit. In today’s fast-paced digital age, where many payroll providers offer more advanced and holistic features, this seems like a missed opportunity by Zenefits.

For any employer who's prioritizing the complete satisfaction of their employees and wishes to have a comprehensive payroll system in place, I'd advise looking elsewhere.

The technology is fine.  It works.  It is semi-intuitive

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

The service is so atrocious it is abhorrent.  The literally blow off meetings, ignore emails, gaslight and clearly have zero accountability internally.  Literally pissing in the wind trying to work with them.

**What problems is HR Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is not solving any - it is causing issues..  We are leaving because they cannot respond to emails and don't show up to meetings.  They literally cannot even file 940/941s effectively and their ASO services is inept.

The UI isn't half bad which will now change due to the TriNet acquisition.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

- Support ticket response times. It took them 11 months to get back to us on a tax issue.
- Lack of decent support at all.
- Not being able to pull certain reports that only support can.
- Certain integrations don't run well, like the Google calendar one.
- Loads of issues with FSA + HSA contributions not being added properly.
- Countless tax issues. We are a full service business and they are consistently late with tax payments that we always get notices from states.

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

It's not an understatement. They got our 401k enrolled incorrectly. Payroll was wrong the first few weeks. Integrations break with updates (still not fixed after multiple open cases), we've had several customer success managers, one of which was let go and we were never notified of who the new one is. Support cases sit for days on end and are closed with no resolution or comments. What should take 5 minutes takes 3 escalations and a week to figure out. I have no idea how they retain clients with this level of incompetence.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

Bugs. Lots of bugs. Releases break things without notification to us so we end up calling in and learn that the recent release broke an integration or broke something else in the UI. We have an employee on leave and we have to actually email one person the same wage amounts to put for every single payroll period that the person is out. Manually. 3 days before payroll. They are a software company and we have to actually manually email a person the same information everytime. There is so much wrong I don't think there is enough room in this long format text box.

Nothing, it doesn't offer anything that any other HR platform would not offer

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

Poor customer service, constant back and forth on the email threads where they fail to actually read the content of the email? They just play dumb until they can close the  ticket.
As HR head, I use zenefits all the time and the complaint has been ongoing from staff and from my side as well. Errors made on their calculation, which they admitted, but said they can't correct due to liability purposes so I had to redo the calculation manually from my side to correct the mistake. No apologies from their side, no credits whatsoever. Even the mistake was noticed by my employee and not by Zenefits.

I like that I can streamline my onboarding and offboarding with the various integrations that we utilize in our productivity suite. This helps us maintain best practices for security and compliance.

There are a lot of out of the box features that we don't fully utilize right now because we're a smaller company without a dedicated HR professional.

Zenefits houses all our core HR functions in one place - from payroll, to onboarding, to PTO, to benefits. We're a small team but we've still got to manage as many processes as a big organization. It's so great to have a platform that keeps it all running in sync without a lot of manual tracking, updating, calculating, emailing, and all that other stuff that we love to do.

The new pricing tiers aren't my favorite, but the platform is still a great deal

Zenefits is a great one-stop shop if clients will use it for onboarding, all benefit administration, and payroll.

Brokers don't have a direct contact person when clients need assistance, and they must use the help feature to submit a question.

Zenefits, when utilized properly, is the only system a business needs to handle employees.

Nothing.  Maybe the fact that I can have multiple tabs open at once.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

The horrible customer service, lack of integration, inability for the system to actually work. Horrible integration ability, payroll information doesn't flow from employees to actual pay runs, retirement deductions aren't captured/recorded. Takes weeks at minimum to resolve any issue (if it gets resolved). Cannot view all of employee information in one place (you would think the EE profile would have it all -- but you have to navigate to payroll or benefits admin to view anything). No retirement integrative capabilities.

We are moving away by Q3.

I love how everything is all in one platform for me to use. I love how the benefits, payroll, and the org-chart is there for me in Zenefits. I love how it's so versatitle!

Other than the pricing, there really isn't too much that I hate about Zenefits. It's a great place and resource for me to be able to communicate with HR and other departments as well.

For me, it's hard to commmunicate with HR if I need any payroll or HR questions, but with Zenefits, I am able to resource and research my own solutions everything all within the app. As a manager, it's great for me to manage my team as well within performance and PTO time off.

There are NO upsides. They cannot get links to payroll deductions correct, their customer service is horrible, and employers have NO accurate FSA/DCA data! They deny FSA claims for employees when all of the IRS requirements are met for  FSA reimbursement and then will not speak with the employer about it.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

There are NO upsides.  I would stay as far away from them as possible. We just switched to Bamboo, and could not be happier! Zenefits cannot get links to payroll deductions correct, their customer service is horrible, and employers have NO accurate FSA/DCA data! They deny FSA claims for employees when all of the IRS requirements are met for  FSA reimbursement and then will not speak with the employer about it.

Nothing, they are awful, only want to scam you for money will never provide adequate service, they are just internet scamming businesses with no intention of providing any service

When I was having trouble with the set up I asked for help and at that time they cancelled the service but refused to refund the money that I paid, they are crooked and criminals and should be arrested for scamming

They won't be of any assistance after you pay your fee they refuse to talk to you and any business with no phone number to speak to any type of supervisor has to be a scam

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

I love the design and aesthetic of the HRIS, and when I reach for a tool or a function, I know it will be there and give me what I need. I use the Business Intelligence function all the time. Especially useful and a critical function for me in my work is the Compliance Assistant that Zenefits has designed. All of the federal deadlines and the tasks I need to complete throughout the year are there, and it gives me peace of mind to know I am crossing my T's and dotting my I's correctly

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

There is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to Zenefits-specific tools like the Performance Management app. It isn't straightforward to understand who can see what when it comes to the different peer-review options. Considering the functionality limitations, I tend not to use that aspect of Zenefits at all. I trust Zenefits will get there eventually, but some of the offerings have no use in my daily operations.

**What problems is HR Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Zenefits to store the information on all of our employees, something I refer to constantly. We also use the Benefits Administration app and the Business Intelligence app. Administering Health Benefits and things like our Insurances through Zenefits is extremely easy. We also use Zenefits to push policies and communications out to our entire workforce with the push of a button. As mentioned above, the Compliance Assistant is incredible, and I regularly utilize the HR Library.

Most help would be the ease for admin and staff to get and track information. Qualities of product again I reference of using and interacting. We have looked at other full-service providers and opted for Zenefits as it still financially is a better choice for our small business.

Least helpful item is sometimes getting support to reply back quickly. They usually do, though I've had as long as 2-3 days before a reply and that can be frustrating.

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

Zenefits has been a great HRIS for our small but growing company! We have employees all over the US and Canada, and it makes onboarding, time off, and benefits a breeze. There is also a ton of great resources not just for the software, but also for educational/regulation purposes.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

The ADP integration has been a major pain point for us. ADP told us they had no plans of working with Zenefits so it's all file feeds, which doesn't work seamlessly with our payroll process. There have also been a number of major problems like reports not showing the most recent or accurate information, and our open enrollment information was transmitted incorrectly to our medical carrier and it took a month to correct it. We also had a system bug at one point that gave the wrong people access to view compensation information. There are other features and integration we were promised up front that we never got.

**Recommendations to others considering HR Plus:**

I wouldn't use Zenefits again unless they drastically overhauled their system.

Zenefits is super easy to use. I like the clean interface and ease of finding what I need. It's super nice being able to access my HSA funds, time off requests, find doctors/healthcare, and everything related to people org/training.

Zenefits allows employees to utilize their benefits without needing to reach out to someone in HR. This let's me have instant access to all the the things I need, whenever I need it.

I was interested in using Zenefits because they claim to be an All-in-One system. Not so! The app is useless and the scheduling feature is basically useless.

There is no customer service! The only way to reach someone is by email. However, they somehow changed my email so I couldn't even do that!

**Recommendations to others considering HR Plus:**

Don't use Zenefits! Check reviews!! If you ever have a problem, you will continue to have a problem because they do not help. 
I used Zenefits a few years ago and decided to try a new company that was cheaper and had more features that I was interested in. I emailed (the only way to contact) Zenefits and said " I would like to cancel my account." I never received an email or any communication back from Zenefits. I went to log in the following week and realized my account had been closed and I lost access to my company's info. They never contacted me to see when my end date would be. Then I find out I was also short of 6 months with them and they would not issue W2's to my employees. Huge hassle!!
I decided to give them another try a couple of years later. I made sure to stay with them for a complete year. We stopped using the scheduling feature in Zenefits because it's basically useless as my employees cannot see their schedules. So we started using a different app for scheduling that is desktop and app friendly. Toward the end of the year, our scheduling app announced it would be adding the payroll option. Yay! I want an All-in-One system (what I thought I was getting with Zenefits). So I waited to tell Zenefits until I processed our last payroll with Zenefits. I emailed them to tell them I wanted to cancel my account and not have it auto-renew. As always, I don't receive any response. I keep checking my account but nothing is happening and it is still active. I finally discover a way to call them. After several attempts at calling over several days, I get ahold of someone and they tell me that I will still be charged for another year of service because I did not give them notice 30 days prior. WHAT!?!
This company is a scam and stealing money from businesses!

Online meetings have been simple, and the information I need conveyed in a clear manner. We chose Zenefits because they offer a plethora of resources on the complex area of HR and Payroll. We need the extra help and Zenefits offers it.
Renewing our plan on an annual basis is simple and fuss free.
This service is a great value for all of the benefits it provides. The communication is clear and simple to follow.

LISTEN to the warnings of all the other low rated reviews. Wish we'd seen them sooner because we're living the Zenefits nightmare now. 

 Payroll, implementation, and ongoing support are all awful. STAY AWAY!!

We switched from Gusto to Zenefits, and it's one of the biggest mistakes we've ever made. Zenefits has: 

- Completely screwed up up payroll taxes
- Shut down our payroll with no warning (we have plenty of $$ in the bank, no issues there)
- Got us a login but beyond that, implementation has been one giant nightmare
- Support is non-existent. Months of emails and chasing down just trying to get responses even to issues like the above. 

If you care about your employees and want to make sure they get paid in time, invest in a real, functioning HRIS. Zenefits is awful.

Zenefits has a great deal of capability ranging including onboarding, benefits, basic HR, payroll and compliance.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

I was attracted to the platform because of its breadth. I moved my companies to it from a provider that did not have the breadth of functionality--especially in the area of benefits. I wound up leaving after a year. During that time, I had numerous issues with payroll, taxes, customer service and the ethics of this business. While the business was recently sold to a new owner (Trinet), the same management team and same level of service/customer commitment still exists.  Here is snapshot of the issues I ran into.
Payroll: Inexplicably, one week paystubs were not visible to employees. The issue was fixed after a day, but then recurred. Then, a few months later, Zenefits forgot to take the funds out of my account on time, and had to scramble to make deposits on time. I tried to call support that payday ( a Friday) but they were closed! A payroll company closed on the most common payday. Thankfully, this impacted many customers so someone got ahold of an exec. The same issue occurred a few months later...I kid you not. Basic stuff...has to be bulletproof and my idea of payday is not to spend it fielding calls from my employees asking where their money is.
Taxes: A bigger disaster than payroll. They do not know how to handle local taxes--to the point where you have to set up each and every jurisdiction even if you file in one master, and every time a new employee starts you do it again. And then, support moves the jurisdiction (a few weeks later) and then they withdraw the funds. An absolute mess of a design and gobs of wasted time. Tried explaining it many time, spent many hours back and forth making sure it was accurate. Regular tax filings were also made with errors--in one case, sent to the wrong agency and in the other, errors were made and corrected causing the agency to refund something they should not have. Each and every time there are tax issues, you open a support case and each and every time, you wait a very, very long time. Can't get someone from tax on the phone.
Customer Service: When issues get resolved, it takes a very long time. Your relationship manager does very little to expedite. The Quickbooks online integration does not work. I gave them very specific info on how it was broken and in nine months they had done nothing to fix it. Had to write my own journal entries. 
Ethics: This one takes the cake. Due to the payroll and tax issues, I decided to move on to a different system at the end of the year. Would you believe me if I told you that Zenefits required me to maintain my account past the end of the year to be able to use the ACA compliance module? Yes, indeed. So--even though you paid them a healthy amount of money throughout the year, you had to maintain the account (and pay an additional fee) to be able to use the ACA module, and had to continue paying the fee until the IRS accepted the ACA filing or else would not have been allowed to make corrections. And--the pace of all of this was under the control of Zenefits--you had to submit data and wait for them to review and then submit more that they had not asked for. In my view, completely unethical. But wait--there is more! After I had termed, we learned that my old payroll provider had incorrectly filed zero dollar reports for the first quarter I had been with Zenefits. The fix for this was to simply re-file the reports Zenefits had filed. Do you think Zenefits did this? Heck no--it was not their fault so therefore, if I wanted them to refile they said the fee was $700! I highly doubt this fee would have existed had I still been a customer as I am sure it is common for  a prior processor to do this. No--this was another thank you from Zenefits. And to top it all off, senior execs were well aware of this and signed off on the fees being appropriate. So know this when you choose to deal with them. They may be owned by someone else now, but the same pocket-picking people who could not competently process payroll and taxes run the place. There are so many better solutions out there. Do not waste your time with this company.

I had hoped to have one complete solution for onboarding, benefits and basic HR.

The support people are very friendly and try very hard to help you despite the inadequate software and specialist teams they coordinate with.

The functionality is terrible. I can't think of one task I've attempted to complete that has been fraught with errors. 

Saving dynamic employee earnings (fringe benefits for person A but not B) doesn't exist.
Bulk upload off-cycle payroll is a terrible experience.
Sync to QBO is non-existent (in its current unusable form).
There is no option to include payroll deductions without including payroll contributions. 
The dedicated account manager is non-existent.
Until recently, there was no report that reconciled what Zenefits debited from your account with the payroll reports.
Currently, Zenefits has a bank transactions report and a bank transactions DETAIL report THAT DON'T AGREE WITH EACH OTHER.
Tax notifications sometimes get answered months after submitting the letter to Zenefits. 
For some time, Zenefits software wouldn't appropriately cap 401k contributions resulting in overcontributions for many employees.
For some time call-back times from support were > 3 hours.

I was very surprised to see relatively decent reviews of this product. It has undoubtedly been the worst software experience I've ever had (not just payroll software). I wish migrating payroll providers wasn't such an arduous task.

We have over fifty employees and eleven stores, and Zenefits keeps us organized. Our managers have access to their employees, while the employees' sensitive personal information can be limited to only HR personnel. Employees can update their direct deposit information, taxes, address, and we can see it immediately at the home office.

I NEVER saw any action on my feedback to their team until I gave negative feedback on a CSAT, and then all of a sudden folks really wanted to hear from me
The offboarding once we made the decision to use another HRIS was truly atrocious, they screwed up multiple pieces of our benefits process in a way that created extra work and didn't apologize or make any effort to fix things - I get that companies give up after you make the decision not to renew, but this was beyond the pale

**What problems is HR Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not very many! Benefits looks good because it is shiny, but all sorts of issues come up (they don't administer an HSA with any level of customization, and only told us after we'd signed the contract) once you get into the meat of using it. Maybe would work for startups, but not suitable for a company that is maturing.

Zenefits can securely host e-signed employment documents, coordinate background checks with a third party vendor, and coordinate benefits (healthcare, commuter, FSA & HSA, etc).

When originally looked into, Zenefits did not have competitive healthcare plan pricing versus other PEOs in the same category.  My company went direct to Aetna for better pricing, even though we were a small business at the time (less than 20 employees).

**Recommendations to others considering HR Plus:**

I would suggest reviewing PEOs each year, if you are a small business owner/HR leader.  Depending on the needs of the organization and your employee demographic over time, different PEOs will give you various discounts and/or benefits pricing models, dependent on the other small companies they are grouping together.  Zenefits was ultimately not competitive as the company I worked for continued to grow, and we ultimately moved to JustWorks.

**What problems is HR Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Zenefits, we were able to securely send offer letters, receive e-signatures and retain signed letters all in one system.  We were also able to coordinate background checks and I-9 processes, get other HR documents signed (confidential information documents, employee handbooks, etc) and retained securely.  We also used Zenefits for our commuter benefits.

I like that the features that I use on a daily basis are available in one app. The Zenefits app is all-encompassing and doesn't require you to jump from screen to screen in order to accomplish a simple goal such as checking your PTO, time worked, or insurance benefits.

The only thing that I don't like about Zenefits is that you aren't able to directly download your personal insurance card from the website. It does, however, provide all of the necessary contact information of the insurance companies in order to reach out and get the card emailed to you.

It is very user-friendly and requires zero training in order to have success using this app. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who is seeking an all-encompassing HR platform.

Problems that have been solved with Zenefits are we have consolidated multiple aspects of HR into one platform. The time clock allows employees to keep track of their time worked and minimizes the confusion as they are responsible for making sure they clock in and out themselves. It also allows employees to track their PTO. It provides transparency that other time-keeping platforms do not offer.

I like that it's a one-stop shop for all our HR, administrative and payroll needs. The site is easy to navigate as well.

We're having trouble setting it up so the right managers get the right type of notifications to their email. For example, I need to receive email notifications when an employee requests time off and despite our efforts that is still not happening.

This has streamlined our HR, administrative and payroll needs, making it easier for employees to do things like access pay stubs, request time off, etc. Our employees ar enjoying it so far.

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

I love how you had all of your HR tools and document storage in one place. Payroll was smooth on the front end and the backend.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

We've had a tough time with Customer Service. They were very hard to get a hold of. No phone numbers on their website and email responses would take over a few days. It was as if they were making it hard to contact them on purpose.

**Recommendations to others considering HR Plus:**

If you have an issue, give yourself some time to get it corrected or fixed. Also, once you find a number, keep it! It's really hard to get ahold of customer support.

**What problems is HR Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having payroll being a part of the tool has been an huge help. We've also loved the reminders of anniversaries, birthdays, and special moments of our team. It's also been great to see different webinars to help level up our processes.

**What do you like best about HR Plus?**

How simple it is to use and how our onboarding process is so streamline utilizing Zenefits. Also our new hires really do well and don't have any issues onboarding which is great.

**What do you dislike about HR Plus?**

The customer service platform is very difficult to utilize. It is not easy to get a hold of a live agent and so that can delay your support, but once you do get an agent it is great.

**Recommendations to others considering HR Plus:**

To make it easier for administrators to access a live customer service agent.

**What problems is HR Plus solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We don't have any current issues with Zenefits and they have resolved any issues we had like I had a question on how to set up the calendar holidays and an issue with our time off policy not allowing the proper calculations and it was resolved.
