"SEO Made Simple and Effective"
What do you like best about Surfer?

I really like the Content Editor, which makes it much easier to organize and structure the content I'm working on. The auto-optimise feature is a great backup after I've manually optimized as much as possible. Even though it requires some tweaking, it helps push the content that final step further. The Content Editor helps me clearly see what's missing and how to improve the structure, ensuring I'm not over- or under-optimizing. The auto-optimise feature is useful for fine-tuning the content, saving time, while still giving me control to adjust things so it fits our brand and goals. The initial setup was pretty straightforward and quick, allowing us to start using it almost immediately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

The one thing I'd love to see improved is more flexibility around topping up the Content Editor usage. Even though we haven't fully explored every feature in our plan yet, the Content Editor is what we rely on most, so having the option to top that up would be really helpful. "Surfer’s NLP Content Optimization Takes the Guesswork Out of On-Page SEO"
What do you like best about Surfer?

The biggest advantage is Surfer’s NLP-driven content optimization and SERP-based recommendations. It removes guesswork from on-page SEO and helps writers, editors, and SEO teams stay aligned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

Pricing For beginners, there can be a short learning curve to fully understand how to use recommendations strategically rather than mechanically. Also, very competitive niches sometimes require additional manual SEO judgment beyond tool suggestions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Surfer: Easy to Use, Accurate, and Excellent Support, but Limited Content Writer Credits"
What do you like best about Surfer?

Surfer is very easy to use, it's accurate and they have EXCELLENT customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

Only the fact that I can't buy more credits for the content writer. Other than that, all good :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best AI Blog Post App"
What do you like best about Surfer?

I love the UX and the gamification, it makes the SEO process feel engaging instead of tedious. The interface is intuitive, and the scoring system motivates consistent improvement. It’s one of the few SEO tools that feels genuinely enjoyable to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

The pricing feels steep, especially for smaller teams or freelancers. Great product, but definitely on the $$$ side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ai - Oh My SEO"
What do you like best about Surfer?

The Content Analyzer is a simple tool that everyone may use. Simply copying and pasting or uploading a file from your computer is all that is required to enter your content into the web tool, which then rates it based on factors such as the keywords used and the importance of those terms. When it comes to optimizing your content for search engines while maintaining a natural flow for human readers, the outcomes can be highly beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

Nothing specifically about Surfer, but SEO content Software can be challenging, and sometimes the KeyWords don't like what the Niche is. By all Means, yours is Awesome, but just a general CON Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Surfer - Want to Write More and Write Better All While Crushing It On Search Engines?"
What do you like best about Surfer?

Surfer's AI article writer has helped me keep my content consistently updated - something I struggled with in the past. I run a busy real estate office and can't always find the time to sit down and bang out a killer SEO article. The more my responsibilities grew at the office, the more neglected my websites became. Surfer changed that. And allowed me to not only write with quality SEO in mind, but also to learn from it so that I could spot weak points in my own writing and find ways to take advantage of their tools to make an article better (I'm currently going through some old articles and giving them a refresh). Their topical authority maps give you a visual way to see content gaps that really helps you not only fill the gaps, but understand how SEO relates things to build those topic clusters. You will absolutely become a better writer with more SEO knowledge by using this product.

And their customer support can't be beat. Seriously. They are incredibly helpful and always friendly. Their Facebook user group is a wealth of knowledge and even the founder has jumped into a conversation to help answer my questions on several occasions. Very welcoming place - for all skill levels. What do you dislike about Surfer?

That it's so helpful. Somedays I will get sucked into a hole of creating content and drafting article after article trying to catch up. It's great, because I do get to stay ahead, but it's terrible because I could easily disappear down that rabbit hole for days without coming up for air. (And yes, I'm being a bit tongue in cheek - I really have little negative to say about Surfer.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Surfer checks almost every box (and makes up that 1 docked point with amazing support)"
What do you like best about Surfer?

The support. Hands down amazing. Very responsive and generous with credits (when you goof and duplicate a report).

On top of support, Surfer folds Clearscope, AI, and Semrush into one powerful tool. We launched a 50-page optimization campaign in February with multiple experts updating pages in their wheelhouse remotely. The common ground was that we all used SurferSEO to make sure our content scored high, had no gaps based on competitors, and checked all of the SEO boxes.

WIthout Surfer, we would have cobbled together several apps to achieve our goal—which we hit thanks to the running start Surfer gave us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

One point off for super picky reasons—even amazing software has room for improvement. One feature I would love to see is the ability to edit inside the auto-optimize window. I appreciate Surfer's auto-optimize efficiency for hitting keyword brackets, but Surfer uses an AI engine to do this, which means that the sentences are loaded with that typical AI voice (passive, participle-heavy, modal auxiliary verbs out the wazoo, and marketing jargon). That would be fin (irritating, but fine) if I could edit that crap out inside the optimization window (the purple one). But I can't. I have to blanket accept everything, and remember where the change was to go in and edit it to sound conversationally human.

I would also love the target keyword to appear next to the SEO score (the dial) inside the surfer UI the same way it appears in the Google Docs extension—which works seamlessly :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helpful tool for on-page SEO"
What do you like best about Surfer?

Surfer makes on-page SEO much easier by breaking down optimisation into clear steps. I like how it gives keyword suggestions and shows how competitors are using them. The Content Editor is especially useful when writing or updating articles, and the interface is user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

I feel it sometimes overemphasizes keyword use, which can make content feel unnatural. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best Content writing assistant so far"
What do you like best about Surfer?

It works. What more can I say? It serves its purpose perfectly and it is all you can expect from software. Knowing Surfer made me who I am and got me where I am now.

PS. Getting the highest possible Content Score is always fun. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

You can't move, hide or unpin the Surfer panel, which sometimes collides with other elements of Wordpress or Google Docs. Also, Content Editor refreshes itself every now and then which disturbs me when I have Optimized and Partially Optimized keywords turned off. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great SEO tool, but expensive!"
What do you like best about Surfer?

The best part about Surfer is its content editor with entity optimisation. This makes it one of the best tools for content creation optimised for SEO in the true sense. It's easy to set up guidelines & processes around this as well.

The other features like keyword research & topical map creation are good as well. But I use SEMRush for all keyword research - haven't really tried switching entirely to Surfer.

Finally, the AI editors are really robust. Lot of customisation possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Surfer?

Surfer is expensive! Both the content editors & AI editors are pricey if you're on beginner plan. Of course, the costs get justified the moment you move to higher plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
