What do you like best about Semrush?

I have been doing SEO audits and keywords research for clients using manual methods and 'free' resources from Google. Once I found SEMRush, it changed the game for me. Their auditing tools were the main source for SEO reviews I did with customers. They are regular resources that I used to stay on top of performance. It also helped me to keep all of the client projects in one place and super organized. They have also kept evolving all of their tools over time to keep pace with changes in the market. With the swift shift to AI search, they have been able to create a toolkit that is helping me keep pace with that conversions for my clients as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I wish the process of a trying some of their new products was a bit easier. I have hit snags a couple of times that made trying and cancelling something a little bit hard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Semrush solving and how is that benefiting you?

Anything related to online marketing from SEO to Paid Media and PR. The biggest one is understanding visibility in the Google search engine around the globe. The indexes by country are invaluable assets. The biggest benefit is time. It takes so much energy to try to aggregate this data and insight in some other way. What do you like best about Semrush?

The only implied positives would be based on what I expected when I bought it:

The promise of a best-in-class SEO and digital marketing solution — you were hoping it would be a single, integrated platform to manage everything.

The breadth of tools SEMrush advertises — even if the reality disappointed, you clearly valued the idea of having keyword research, site audits, competitive analysis, and other SEO functions in one place.

The enterprise-level positioning — you invested because you thought you were getting a premium, business-class service with strong onboarding and support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Semrush?

I invested into a combination of SEMrush, SEMrush Enterprise, and Ryte, expecti

ng a best-in-class SEO and digital marketing solution. Unfortunately, the reality has been deeply disappointing.

The platforms are complex, fragmented, and not seamlessly integrated — each feels like a standalone tool rather than part of a unified system. Switching between them is clunky and inefficient, making strategic workflows more difficult rather than easier.

Despite the massive cost, the support is severely lacking. Getting meaningful assistance is slow, and when you do get help, it's often superficial or passed between different teams without resolution.

SEMrush is oversold and overhyped. What’s marketed as an all-in-one solution feels more like a collection of partially built tools. It’s not intuitive, and the learning curve is steep — with poor onboarding for enterprise clients, which is shocking given the price point.

Worst of all, I’m locked into a rigid annual contract, leaving me with expensive tools that don’t deliver the promised ROI. I expected premium service and performance, but instead got a tangled mess of dashboards, half-useful data, and buyer’s remorse.
