The growing prominence of the strategy makes sense-- both salespeople and their prospects are likely engaging with social media on a daily basis, so the social approach allows salespeople to connect with their prospects in a less invasive way than cold calls or emails. Connecting socially breaks down some of the formal barriers between sales professionals and those they’re trying to sell to, creating an open channel for prospects to ask questions or for salespeople to share helpful content that a prospect may find valuable, even if they are not ready to buy yet. “Unified Inbox and DM Automation Make Sprout Social a Real-Time Productivity Boost”
What do you like best about Sprout Social?

For me, I really love the unified inbox. I am able to view all of the messages, comments, mentions from Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc. All in real-time, in one spot, so I do not have to switch tabs back and forth. Even though I am currently on the couch, I was able to clear my entire inbox without having to open one single application. I also really love the automation of DMs, because it does handle a lot of the repetitive, FAQ-based messaging I send out, without needing me to babysit it. What do you dislike about Sprout Social?

Honestly, at this point, I have had zero issues with Sprout Social. However, I would also say that task management is getting close to being a viable replacement for a project management tool; however, it is lacking some key features such as deadline columns and status fields, which would be wonderful if they were to add them. At this point, I do not see anything that would cause me to leave Sprout Social, but I did feel obligated to mention these issues. Minor complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Sprout Social solving and how is that benefiting you?

Prior to using Sprout Social, I was using around 5-6 separate applications for tasks including scheduling, listening, an email inbox management tool, etc. Sprout Social has essentially combined most of those applications into one. The DM automation alone saves me approximately an hour a day from copy/pasting the same reply to the same question repeatedly. For any user who manages multiple clients or accounts, Sprout Social effectively replaces an entire suite of applications you would normally be paying for individually, which adds up quickly. Hootsuite is a very user-friendly platform that I've been using for nearly a decade. It has changed quite a bit over the years but has remained consistent at doing the best it can with what API access social platforms provide. The ability to schedule content, plan content out, and view analytics and build reports in a centralized location is immensely valuable and useful for social media teams. Whether social media is 10% of your job or 100% of your job, Hootsuite is a great tool to help you save time and not lose your mind while managing your brand's social presence. What I dislike about Salesforce Sales Cloud is that it can feel complex and overwhelming, especially for new users. What do you like best about SOCi?

I use SOCi every day for social media posting, analytics, sentiment, and review responses. It's great that it solves scheduling issues across multiple platforms and makes creating graphics easy with Canva. I really like how it's user-friendly and easy to jump into, saving me time by having everything in one centralized dashboard. The integrations are fantastic, allowing me to connect social accounts and use Canva for memorable graphics. What do you dislike about SOCi?

I often have issues accessing Canva's graphics after creating. While working on a graphic, there is no way I know to save in the middle of doing work and come back to it later. I also cannot find old graphics in the Canva integration. The dashboard occasionally has glitches where social accounts will become disconnected. Google Business posting is also difficult at times. What do you like best about Pipedrive?

What do you dislike about Pipedrive?

Support. Absolutely the worst part about Pipedrive.

Our account executive, Zachary Phillips, offered us a discount during our trial. We accepted it, he said to add our billing details to the account, we did, and then he stopped responding. 5 days and two follow-up emails later, still no reply and no autoresponder saying he was out. And there is no way to reach anyone else in sales because they have no sales email and support was not able to provide me a way to contact sales. I finally got a response from the sales team lead, Spencer Smith, who just made excuses and said that Zachary has been out for a while. No acknowledgement of the fact that I had been ghosted or that they provide no other way to reach the sales team when someone is out for an extended period of time.

During that time, I also reached out to support and had a chat with Ricardo that was probably the worst customer support I've ever received. He kept insisting that I should do things that weren't possible in their software. I told him it was not an option in their software, but he insisted. I sent him a Loom screen recording showing him, and then he made up a new answer, which was also incorrect. It seems that rather than get help or admit he didn't know, he prefers to make up answers and insist they are correct. His manager, Carolyn, ended up following up the conversation by telling me that what I had said was not possible, was indeed not possible, though she said it like she was informing me. I didn't need to be told, it was their own support team who doesn't seem to know how their software works.

I also had reported a bug to support at the start of the week, spent almost an hour answering their questions and providing a Loom screen recording at their request, just to have them tell me it was a known issue. This is why most software companies use a bug tracker, so that they can know about bugs without wasting the customers time.

Overall, I found their team to be very poorly trained, not at all knowledgeable about their own software and extremely disorganized. It was bad enough that I'm writing a negative review for the first time to warn other people not to use Pipedrive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The software solves the problem of keeping track of sales leads and marketing efforts. Which is a bit ironic since they seem to, by their own admission, have trouble keeping track of their sales leads. What do you like best about Close?

Close helps me keep track of patient enquiries and pending replies in one place. I manage diet consultations at a clinic and also get health-related messages online, so it is useful to see who contacted me and what needs to be done next. Earlier, I used to note things in different places and sometimes forgot to reply on time.

I was able to start using Close without much effort. I added new enquiries, wrote short notes about the patient’s concern, and sent messages from the same screen. This saved time because I did not have to switch between different apps. I usually check it once or twice a day to see what is pending.

Sometimes updates or changes made in Close dont reflect immediately, so I have to refresh the page to see the latest activity. This can be a little annoying when I’m in a hurry to check if a reply was sent or a note was saved. What problems is Close solving and how is that benefiting you?

Earlier in my daily work, I used to keep enquiry details in my phone notes or try to remember follow-ups in my head. On busy clinic days, a few things would slip through, and I had to double-check messages again and again. With Close, I can quickly see who contacted me, what we discussed earlier, and what I still need to do next, all on one screen. This reduces back-and-forth and saves time during the day. It also helps me keep a simple history of patient communication, so when someone messages again after a few days, I don’t start from zero. What do you like best about Vista Social?

I manage a few client accounts plus my own account as a freelancer, and before Vista Social I was constantly bouncing between apps just to keep up with messages and scheduling

The interface is quite easy to navigate and it feels structured in a way that I can actually stay on top of it without losing my mind. You really don’t need tutorials to get going, which is great coz some tools can feel complicated, if I’m being honest. The DMs, comments across all the social accounts appear in real time making it easy to get a bird's eye view on everything.

The social listening feature surprised me the most though. I wasn't expecting it at this price point, usually that's locked for much more expensive tools. I like how intuitive it is while still being really powerful. You don’t need to be a marketing ops expert to launch campaigns, build workflows, or track performance. At the same time, the data is there whenever you want to dig deeper, and honestly, the automation saves a ton of time. What do you dislike about HubSpot Marketing Hub?

What I like least is that it can get expensive pretty quickly, especially once you start needing more seats, reporting, or larger contact volumes. Some of the best features sit behind higher tiers, which can be frustrating when you know the platform is capable of more.

Integration is very easy, but implementation sometimes requires additional training. That can make it hard to pull people away from their day-to-day tasks to do the learning. I really like the email digests. I’m super busy running the shop and I don't always have time to log into a "dashboard". Getting a clean email every morning that says "Hey, 5 people mentioned your bakery today" is perfect. It even found a TikTok where someone was showing off our sourdough and it went semi-viral! I would have totally missed that and lost the chance to comment and thank them if it wasnt for the alerts. It makes me feel like I actually have a PR team even though it’s just me and a laptop. What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

The tool has constantly improved, what I don't like is that for changing the payment card you have to wait and there's no option for immediate payment. They do provide support, in your language, but I hope they soon add the option to load or change your card and be able to pay now, which would be a plus, while keeping the automatic processing option, just adding the pay now option. more diffusion of the tool is needed, I had already heard about it but what I have seen is that business owners or independent entrepreneurs would find the tool useful for their meta ads campaigns and for them to know that they can achieve the benefits, or come up with a basic plan especially for potential client forms on meta and lead automation via email. if they communicate that, there is a better business opportunity, although with limited functions they can attract clients who pay with a subscription like Canva.
