"Simple, Reliable, and Secure 2FA Solution"
What do you like best about Google Authenticator?

Thing I like best about Google Authenticator is how simple and fast it is to use. There’s no clutter or unnecessary features — it focuses solely on generating time-based one-time passwords (TOTP), which makes it lightweight and very reliable. The app works offline, doesn't require permissions that feel intrusive, and I like that it's from a trusted brand like Google. It also supports multiple accounts, making it easy to manage 2FA for different services in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Authenticator?

One of the main drawbacks of Google Authenticator is the lack of cloud backup and multi-device sync for a long time, although that has recently improved. Even so, the process of transferring accounts between devices can still feel clunky or risky, especially for non-technical users. There's also no biometric or PIN protection built into the app itself, which feels like a security gap compared to other authenticator apps. A cleaner interface or some customization options would also enhance the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortlessly Secure, But Phone Dependency is a Drawback"
What do you like best about Google Authenticator?

I really like Google Authenticator because it provides security and is easy to use even when voice or SMS doesn't work. It's so handy and powerful for authenticating more and more software. I can add multiple applications, and it keeps my accounts secure. It’s also incredibly helpful; I’ve linked 10 to 15 accounts to it. Whenever I log in to a new device, I can easily use my phone to get the OTP from the authenticator. I find it very secure, and the setup process is really easy since you just scan a code with your phone. I also appreciate that it doesn't require the internet to generate OTPs, which makes it super reliable. Plus, it's completely free, which is amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Authenticator?

Google Authenticator has only one problem. If my phone is not near me or my phone is broken, then what do I do? I have to log in with another phone, and it's too much. Too much security. Right? It's too much login, hard to log in with Google Authenticator and something else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Useful for Password Recovery, But Needs Simpler Authentication"
What do you like best about Google Authenticator?

I like using Google Authenticator because when I forget my password, it is the app that helps me get back into my accounts. It is incredibly useful for ensuring I can regain access to vital applications like my Gmail and other apps that require a password, even if I happen to forget them. I find it valuable because it provides an additional layer of security and convenience, allowing me to stay connected to my essential tools seamlessly. Specifically, I appreciate how Google Authenticator sends a code to my phone number when I need to reset my password, making the recovery process straightforward. The initial setup was pretty easy, which I really appreciate, as it doesn't complicate the process of enhancing security across my accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Authenticator?

I dislike the requirement for two-factor authentication as it feels a bit cumbersome. I would prefer if there was an option for single-factor authentication to make the process simpler. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Authenticator?

It is always the best, but still, there are some I don't like about. It is only available on mobile applications, and Sometimes, If I forget passwords, it is hard to recover. The same security feature makes recovery harder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential, Highly Secure TOTP Solution for Rapid Deployment"
What do you like best about Google Authenticator?

The primary advantage is the robust security provided by its industry-standard TOTP implementation, which is crucial for reducing access-related incidents. Critically, its Ease of Use facilitates high adoption rates among diverse staff members, and the Ease of Implementation required minimal centralized deployment effort across our large user base (over 500 users), making it highly scalable and effective for immediate security uplift. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Authenticator?

The main operational challenge is the decentralized nature of token storage. This requires careful management and IT Operations intervention when staff change devices or lose access, complicating incident response and recovery. A more streamlined, encrypted account-based recovery feature (similar to competitive offerings) would significantly enhance Customer Support and minimize administrative overhead for the IT team managing access control. "Google authenticator helping us to stay safe"
What do you like best about Google Authenticator?

Honestly, what I appreciate most about Google Authenticator is how it makes logging into my accounts feel so much safer. Enabling two-factor authentication has given me some real peace of mind, especially with all the news about online scams lately. The app itself is pretty straightforward, I can quickly get my code and be on my way without hassle. It’s also reliable; I’ve never had it fail when I needed it most. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Authenticator?

If I had to pick something, I wish it was easier to switch my codes to a new phone. Migrating everything feels a bit stressful because, if you lose your phone or forget to back things up, you might get locked out of all your accounts. It would be awesome if there were more flexible backup or recovery options. Other than that, it just does what it’s supposed to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Secure, and Finally Seamless"
What do you like best about Google Authenticator?

What I appreciate most about Google Authenticator is how it combines straightforward usability with strong security, especially now that cloud sync has been introduced. Previously, the main drawback was the possibility of losing access to your accounts if your phone was lost, but this issue has finally been addressed. The app excels at its core function: generating offline, time-based codes that help secure a wide range of digital services. As a free and dependable tool, it quietly adds an important layer of protection without introducing unnecessary complexity, making it essential for safeguarding your online accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Google Authenticator?

The interface is very basic and lacks organizational features such as folders, which makes it challenging to manage multiple accounts. More significantly, the app does not offer the option to lock it with a PIN or biometric authentication, unlike some competitors, so your codes remain unprotected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
