"User-Friendly and Visual Task Management"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I have been using Float for approximately two years to schedule and track my weekly tasks. I find it immensely helpful in keeping track of my daily tasks and ensuring their timely completion according to expectations. The visual planning aspect of Float, which includes laying out tasks with their deadlines in a visually intuitive way, aids in efficient task management. I truly appreciate the drag-and-drop functionality in Float, which streamlines the process of managing tasks by allowing easy delegation, splitting, and completion of tasks. This feature, coupled with the ability to visualize tasks in a graph for easy navigation throughout the week, greatly enhances the usability of the software. The simplicity and ease of use that Float offers are significant reasons for my continued preference and a perfect score of 10 on my recommendation scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I dislike the limited flexibility in exporting options for raw Excel documents in Float. The appearance, style, and arrangement of days or weeks in these exports do not meet my expectations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective Asana Integration with Minor Setup Challenges"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I love how Float provides a clearer view of our team's capacity and planned workload, making it easier to manage projects and resources efficiently. The integration with Asana is invaluable; it simplifies the process by pulling in time tracking data directly, allowing for a streamlined workflow where I can swiftly log time entries. Additionally, I find the drag-and-drop functionality extremely helpful as it offers a visual representation of my day, which enhances my ability to organize tasks and prioritize efficiently. Visually, the platform is quite appealing, which adds to the overall user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

{"The Outlook integrations are a bit clunky and not really working as expected, which limits my ability to fully utilize Float alongside my existing tools.","Working with project phases is somewhat cumbersome; it requires a lot of fine-tuning, which is not very efficient and can lead to frustrations.","The permissions setup is quite tricky, and there are instances where tasks set for me cannot be deleted even when they are not relevant anymore.","Scheduling must be set in one continuous block of time, which is restrictive. It would be more convenient if I could automatically apply tasks as separate occurrences each day, preventing the need to delete or restart the entire schedule for adjustments."} Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective Task Management and Time Tracking Solution"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I appreciate that Float is specifically dedicated to making it easier to assign tasks and stay on budget with hours. It stands out from general project management tools I've tried, like Monday and Blue CRM, which don't provide the same clarity and team synchrony. Float makes assigning specific tasks straightforward and helps avoid confusion and lost overviews, which used to happen before with just Slack updates. The time scheduling feature integrates seamlessly with Slack to keep everything clear for team members. I find the time tracking feature to be an excellent balance between ensuring accountability and avoiding micromanagement. The scheduling and timeline assignment functionalities are invaluable as they align perfectly with our needs for managing both day-to-day tasks and monthly planning, offering a comprehensive solution that eliminates the need for juggling multiple tools. What do you dislike about Float.com?

I think sometimes Float has a little bit too much functionality. The forecasting feature is not necessarily something that we need. In the scheduling, you can currently place notes, but it would be useful if this feature was more structured. A quick video or a more comprehensive summary that is easier to read would be nice. Currently, it's just a small text field. Making it bigger or providing more space for context would be very appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Float makes project planning and timesheets effortless"
What do you like best about Float.com?

The schedule view and drag-and-drop interface make it very quick to allocate work and see who’s available. For example, when I need someone for a project I can immediately see who’s free or over-booked. Timesheet submission is easier because it pre-fills based on scheduled work. That saves a lot of time compared with manually entering everything. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

Also, it would be great if Float sent reminders or notifications when a timesheet is due or a leave request is approved, so I don’t have to keep checking manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Float Delivers Seamless Project Transparency"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I find Float incredibly beneficial for managing our project resources. It was a smooth transition from our previous tools to Float due to its ease of setup. The simplicity of the interface really stands out, making the process of editing time seamless and efficient. Float provides excellent transparency in project planning, allowing us to see exactly what our team is working on. This feature is pivotal for us as it facilitates excellent project management. Additionally, the ability to export timesheets directly is a substantial time-saver. What I particularly appreciate is how it helps us prepare for our weekly team meetings, aligning our efforts and ensuring we stay on track. Overall, the seamless integration and user-friendly features make Float an invaluable tool for our organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I dislike the lack of integration with AI chatbots in Float. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Time Logging, Needs More Automation"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I have been using Float since May when I joined Exponent, and it has significantly helped me in logging my time daily. This feature allows my team to see how much time I spend on specific tasks, which I guess aids in client billing plans. Compared to other tools I've used before, Float's user interface is particularly nice and stands out for its ease of use. I can quickly log time by just clicking on the time slot, selecting the project, and adding an optional comment. This simplicity is amazing because it doesn't force me to write unnecessary descriptions. I appreciate how easy Float makes it to track the hours spent on tasks during the week, and I can also check monthly summaries effortlessly. It also provides great information about holidays and sick leaves, which is incredibly helpful. Float has become a part of our company's workflow, and I genuinely like it much better than the tool I used at my previous company, Teleopti. Its ease of use would make me consider using it again if I had the chance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I initially struggled with the setup process of Float and had to consult the HR team to understand it better. It took me a week or two to get fully comfortable with using it, which made the onboarding feel somewhat challenging. Additionally, it lacks integration options or automation tools, which could enhance its functionality significantly. The absence of such features prevents me from maximizing its potential and automating repetitive tasks. Although logging time is easy, the system occasionally forces manual operations that could be automated, making it slightly less efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective for Scheduling, Needs More Project Management Features"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I appreciate that Float makes project allocation straightforward, allowing me to efficiently distribute tasks. The setup process was also very straightforward since everything was already set up for me when I started using it. Additionally, I find it valuable that Float helps my team member by showing her what projects I'm working on and forecasting for the upcoming weeks, even if it doesn't directly solve my personal problems. This feature aids in better transparency and team collaboration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I find that Float is not solving any of my problems directly, yet it helps one of my team members, which can feel indirect and less beneficial for me personally. Additionally, the inability to manage projects directly within Float is a significant limitation. Project management is a crucial aspect of my workflow that I wish could be handled within the system. This aspect limits the efficiency and completeness of the tool in my daily tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Efficient for Resource Planning, Less So for Engineering Detail"
What do you like best about Float.com?

- Balances workload across engineers and analysts:

+ Visual schedule shows who’s over- or under-utilized.

+ Lets leads reassign or delay tasks to avoid burnout and bottlenecks.

Why it helps: Keeps delivery consistent and prevents critical-path delays caused by uneven workloads.

- Supports utilization reporting:

+ Tracks billable vs. internal (non-billable) analytics or engineering effort.

+ Reports help justify headcount or demonstrate workload trends to leadership.

Why it helps: Provides visibility into how team time is spent and supports resourcing decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

- Limited context for engineering complexity: Float treats all tasks as equal-length time blocks — it doesn’t account for technical uncertainty, dependencies, or scope creep.

Downside: Estimates in Float can oversimplify engineering effort, leading to unrealistic expectations.

- Less value for individual contributors: Most of Float’s insights (capacity, utilization, forecasting) benefit leads or managers more than engineers themselves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple Interface with Setup Challenges"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I appreciate Float's ability to streamline staffing and project management which is essential for my team's operations. Managing hours in the day and overseeing people's tasks is simplified, while receiving a week at a glance view and holiday scheduling are incredibly helpful for planning. I find Float's quick tags particularly useful for organization, and being able to sort by title or name adds efficient clarity to my workflow. The tentative quick select feature and the ease of allocation of hours further enhance productivity. Most notably, I love Float's simple interface which makes it easy for everyone on my team to use, eliminating unnecessary complexity and allowing us to focus more on our work goals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I found setting up projects in Float initially difficult. There is a need for clearer differentiation between clients, projects, and tasks, as the current setup can lead to incorrect use of tags. This lack of clarity affected my ability to set up projects and tasks accurately from the start. Additionally, I would like the tasks and projects buttons and functions to have a more distinct difference to avoid confusion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
