## Float.com Reviews
  ### 1. Great for Viewing Team Schedules, but Needs Notes and Edit Permissions

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

I am able to see a large selection of my co-workers time tables at once

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

I can not add notes or edit bookings made on my profile by other people, this may be a permission thing not sure but speaking with other team members they have a similar request to be able to leave notes on other peoples booking would be helpful

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for bookings more than project management, so it lets me know what i have coming up and that's all really

**Official Response from Alexandria Petigna:**

> Thanks so much for the kind words and for taking the time to leave a review! You’re right, this is a permissions issue. In Float, the ability to edit allocations (bookings) and add notes is controlled by your access rights. The “member” permission (likely your access setting) allows you to view the schedule but not edit allocations. Your account admin can update your permissions if that’s something your team wants to enable. I’ve attached a link to more details around Float’s permission settings if you’re interested. And if you find the update useful, we’d love it if you could consider revisiting your review. Always great to hear when Float is working the way it should for your team!

  ### 2. Intuitive, Visually Appealing, and Essential for Project Management

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

Float has become an essential tool in my daily workflow. Tracking hours and planning project tasks is incredibly intuitive, thanks to its clean and well-structured interface. The design is visually appealing without being distracting, making it easy to stay organised and focused. Overall, a very user-friendly platform that truly supports efficient project management

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

While Float is excellent for day-to-day planning, one aspect I find less convenient is the limited flexibility in custom reporting and time-tracking breakdowns. For more complex or multi-level project structures, it would be helpful to have deeper filtering options and more detailed analytics available directly within the interface

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Float helps streamline project and resource planning by centralising schedules and time tracking in one place. Instead of managing multiple spreadsheets or manually coordinating team availability, I can quickly assign tasks, monitor workloads, and adjust timelines when priorities shift. This reduces the risk of overbooking, improves transparency across projects, and ultimately saves valuable time in my weekly planning.

**Official Response from Alexandria Petigna:**

> Hi there, I’m glad to hear that Float is working well for you! I’ll note down your feedback on reporting. I can say that we’re exploring ways to further enhance our current reporting capabilities. If you’re interested, we would love to chat about your reporting needs and how we can get that star rating up. You can reach out at support@float.com.

  ### 3. Needs Improvement in Flexibility and Permissions

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Iman G.

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

I find Float valuable for providing a centralized location to log hours and manage budgets. This feature simplifies tracking and configuration, ensuring that our project hours are efficiently monitored and aligned with budget constraints.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

I find Float's features to be somewhat complicated, cluttered, and clunky compared to platforms like Trello. The platform's interface doesn't allow for the ease of movement and task-based organization that I'm accustomed to, such as viewing tasks in a Kanban board. The scheduling feature is also not very useful to me because it doesn't suit how our project timelines work. Additionally, Float feels limited in capability and flexibility, and I haven't found a great way to utilize it effectively. As a result, I am considering returning to using Trello alongside Float.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Float to log hours and manage budgets efficiently in a single place, making it easier to track work and financials together.

  ### 4. Great for Team Scheduling, But User Management Needs Work

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

It’s particularly helpful as a centralized source of truth for team availability and project scheduling. Having a consolidated overview helps in coordinating activities and preventing over-allocations or gaps.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

The user management experience could be improved. For instance, when a user is archived, they still appear in the dropdown menus for project allocation. This creates confusion, increases the risk of planning errors, and requires unnecessary manual checks

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I appreciate the clear visual interface, which provides a quick overview of the team’s workload and simplifies resource allocation across projects. The graphical layout is an effective tool for short to mid-term planning.

  ### 5. Messy Interface and Limited Features Make the Day-to-Day Breakdown Unclear

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Games | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

The schedule visualization makes it easy to get a quick overview and see everyone’s schedule at a glance.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

It feels a bit messy overall, and the features are somewhat limited for me as a user. The day-to-day breakdown also isn’t very clear, which makes it harder to use on a regular basis.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps keep me aware of which project I’m working on from day to day, so I can stay organized and focused.

**Official Response from Alexandria Petigna:**

> Hi there, thanks for the feedback. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with Float. We would love to help you get to know Float better. We find that once people understand how the Float schedule displays their hours and allocations, they generally prefer the interaction. We offer free Customer Success office hours (https://luma.com/float), and our Support team is just a chat/email away. Let’s get you set up for success.

  ### 6. Simple Interface with Powerful Backend – Effortless Access

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 27, 2025

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

The ease of access and simple interface, while having a complex back end.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

You cannot have varying blocks of time on the same project across multiple days.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Resourcing time for myself and others and tracking what i, and others are working on at any given time without the need to contact them, or my superiors about it.

  ### 7. A designer’s perspective on powerful features and navigational challenges

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

Float offers a lot of features and you are able to use as many or as few of them that fit your needs. As a designer, I like being able to see how my time is allocated in the neatly organized color-coded calendar. From there, it is easy to log my time.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

Because of its many features, it can be hard to navigate to find what you are looking for. I wish there was a basic home page with navigation links to then jump into what you need to access. As a designer and not a project manager, I don't always need access to or care to view what the rest of the organization is booked on. It would be nice to have a standard home screen where I can just access my projects or time sheet.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Float allows my project managers to book my time and keep my schedule full. The pre-scheduled time is easy to confirm to my timesheets so I don't have to think back and count my hours.

  ### 8. Room for improvement

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felipe S. | Senior Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

it helps my organization know where and how I am allocating my time

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

Editing the time that has been logged is unnecessarily difficult. when you move the start time the end time also changes, so either you log hours without proper time allocation or spend 20 minutes trying to get the log right. Also, adding manual logs for circumstances like forgetting to press play is complicated and does not allow for a specific time of the day allocation only for the sum of time.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

is clear for my company and boss to know how much time every project takes to do

  ### 9. Not very user-friendly

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

I like that i can view the time entered on projects across my entire organization

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

It is not user-friendly or intuitive. I can't figure out how to view different screens - the search and filter functions don't make sense and I never get the results I am serching for. In addition, in the time-entry page (which is what I use the most), it would be much simpler if I could copy an entry in its entirety (tasks, notes, etc) to another day, as many of my daily tasks are the same day-to-day.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see and update my teams schedules.

  ### 10. Very difficult to use

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Environmental Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

Logs time as basis for discussion with manager

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

Impossible to enter time in decimal format such as XX.Y No quick entry using mouse and drop down. When logging time, date changes from whatever is on screen to current week. This creates entry errors which are impossible to correct after discovery

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides basis for discussion with manager

  ### 11. Just ok

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2024

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

I like how you can extend out tasks by clicking and draging.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

You cant duplicate certain tasks, Its not easy to make multiple tasks for longer days

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowing what tasks i should be doing and what day

  ### 12. UI Not Very Intuitive

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

I like the built-in keyboard shortcuts to expedite common tasks (logging time, eliminating tasks from view)

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

The UI is not very intuitive. I find it a little difficult to navigate

**Recommendations to others considering Float.com:**

Learn the keyboard shortcuts

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me log hours for work to keep tasks organized time-wise

**Official Response from Jess Thompson:**

> Thank you for your review and for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We're sorry to hear you find the UI difficult to navigate, we'll pass that on to the team. In the meantime, if there's anything you need help with, please reach out to support@float.com

  ### 13. Can be confusing sometimes

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

Ability to track progress on multiple projects

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

Some of the features are hidden and hard to find

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking costs
Tracking our collaborators

**Official Response from Jess Thompson:**

> Thank you for your review! We're happy to hear that Float helps you track progress across several projects. We're sorry to hear you've had trouble finding some features. We'd love to hear how we can make these more discoverable; feel free to reach out to us at support@float.com if you'd like to share your thoughts!

  ### 14. Float gets the job done, but can be glitchy. Some persisting issues that are bad for our business.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

The visual aspect of Float is fantastic. We rely heavily on the ability to color code by project manager (matched to our KanBan board) for better overhead visibility. The clarity around capacity limits (turning red at 8 hours), PTO, and project owner give a great overhead view of each resource. Also, the edit history is incredibly helpful.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

The software can be glitchy and hard to rely on at times. Often when moving blocks of time, the software will prompt you to refresh the page and you will lose whatever action was in progress. Sometimes the software will not let me drop a block where I want to, and I'll have to place it a few days and then manually extend/shorten the time block.
The reports section was recently changed, without warning as far as I know, and it has been a huge pain point for me. I run Capacity to Contract reports using Float exports, and this structure change completely crushed my existing workflow to the point where we abandoned our old spreadsheet in favor of a completely new report.
Sometimes ghost data will not show up on the schedule view, but will skew the reports for each resource. This causes a headache when running reports because I have to manually keep tabs on all numbers for each resource, given I can't trust they are 100% accurate.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Float for our resourcing and utilization monitoring, so we are able to identify what type of work needs to be brought in at which points in the year, informing sales. We also use this as an overhead planning tool week to week.

  ### 15. Integration to rest of the team

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kagisho M. | Strategic Copywriter, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

It's easy to use, specifically for traffic to brief in work to the creative department. This also makes it easier for all the creatives to fill in their timesheets once everything has been scheduled. The design is clean and pleasant to look at, which makes it working with it delightful.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

There isn't enough training for the creatives to use it more efficiently. This hinders the level to which the software can be integrated into e-mail (if possible), and therefore have a more streamlined process instead of having multiple logins in order to use the software.

**Recommendations to others considering Float.com:**

Train the rest of the team well, and not just the administrators initially tasked with briefing in the work. This will assisst everyone to make the best out of this software. Use the customisable interface in order reap the best experience for oneself.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easier to do timesheets once work has been logged on float.

I have nothing more to add but require to use more words in order to fill the word count, in terms of UX I think tghis was a short sight from the survey creators. This might just make it a wordy response rather than dealing with specific points from my experience of the softweare. Luckily I am almost there with regards to the word count and can get my $20 for these surveys. All in all it is a good product and more training should be provided for all stakeholders.

**Official Response from Glenn Rogers:**

> Hi Kagisho,

Thanks for the feedback. We offer free training, just send us a note at support@float.com and we'll sort you out! You can also join a free weekly webinar here: https://www.float.com/webinars

Cheers,

Glenn

  ### 16. Not built for lots of projects happening at once

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

1. The intention of the tool is very helpful and it is probably amazing for smaller groups with limited projects.
2. Color coding of projects/teams/clients is helpful.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

1. The interface is not obvious; features are hard to find.
2. You have to navigate between different tabs to enter information for a single project. You should be able to add projects & people from a single view. And deleting something from one tab does not carry over to another (e.g., deleting someone from a project in the Schedule does not delete them from the project team).
3. You cannot see the roll up of how over allocated someone is without trying to figure out the reports for a single person. This is incredibly frustrating for our large team with a lot of projects going on at once. The red area is not a good indication when you can hardly see it behind the projects. The row views are also quite small, which hinders this being noticeable. Then you have to do the math to see the number of hours over. Other tools we have used will give percentages for allocations and overages.
4. A single project does not take a horizontal view to scan across weeks/months, as you add new projects each week the view changes and makes it very difficult to scan.
5. You cannot specify what time off is for - would be helpful to be able to track out of the office time based on conference or vacation or maternity leave or another reason.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying to manage a team of designers across multiple offices, clients and project work, but I cannot say we are completely solving that problem with Float without frustration.

**Official Response from Glenn Rogers:**

> Thanks for the feedback! Hit us up at support@float.com and we'd be happy to point you to the right resources or register you for a free webinar to get the most out of Float.

You can add people and projects from the top right '+' button so you never need to leave the schedule view if you prefer.

Your Admins can also add different Time Off Types from the Account Settings if you'd like more to choose from (e.g. Maternity), otherwise do feel free to add those details in the Time Off Comments field when adding these.

  ### 17. Functional, but difficult UI

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kyle K. | Principal Crafter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

It allows me to schedule my time among various, billable projects as well as for time off. Others like being able to use that to project cash flow.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

The UI is really difficult to use. While it does seem to be improving, it requires fore knowledge of unintuitive UI elements that don't outwardly suggest being interactive and also fine-grained mouse clicking on distinct elements that are very close together.

**Recommendations to others considering Float.com:**

Ask them to write a new UI. The functionality is fine as far as I can tell, but their UI really needs some more attention to detail and user experience.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me as an employee, it solves the problem of booking time off. For others, it helps them estimate future cashflow.

**Official Response from Glenn Rogers:**

> Hi Kyle, sorry to hear you're not digging our interface! We pride ourselves on how intuitive our scheduling is. Please hit us up at support@float.com and pass on specific feedback on what you'd like to see improved.

  ### 18. Basic Program - Needs More Functionality

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

Easy to use and understand visual layout.

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

User administration and lack of reporting functionality.

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it to task/resource manage many moving deadlines up to a minute by minute basis.

  ### 19. Easy to view, hard to edit

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Albert A. | Business Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Float.com?**

The fact that I can see all my activities on a calendar

**What do you dislike about Float.com?**

Hard to edit stuff... sometimes teams that are normally selectable are not there

**What problems is Float.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scheduling
