Kimble gives us the financial position of all projects including time completed to date, forecasts, how much PO cover is available and crucially what can be invoiced to our customers. The invoicing process is smooth for time and expense and fixed price projects. The business is multi-currency across several countries and Kimble allows us to invoice from one system for all of these circumstances which is then exported into our finance system. From a reporting point of view we can analyse our various business units and departments to ensure the right people see the most useful information. **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** When we first implemented Kimble some of the functionality regarding supplier invoices was not as good as the customer side. The Kimble Development team have improved this area over the past couple of years. I'm finding that I need to supplement Mavenlink with other products such as Google Sheets and SmartSheets as it feels more seamless and easily viewable. Also the way that timesheets and their reports work don't make a whole lot of sense. Another benefit is the time tracking, it is something that my company uses extensively and it is SO easy because I often do a lot of the same things each week and I can just carry over the "work titles" from the previous week instead of logging everything back in again. ### 44. I can also quickly track what projects I need to work on and find out how long I have spent on each of these projects and tasks. **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** At the start, Mavenlink was a little difficult to get started with. I did not receive any instructions with getting started with Mavenlink and, as a result, started with some confusion with its usage. Being unable to search and assign my own tasks/projects can pose difficulties as well, as I need to wait for senior management to enable me access before I can log hours under the correct project. **Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble):** Mavenlink is a fast and efficient tool to improve your company hours management and maximize the efficiency of your organization. With the help of Mavenlink, I am able to understand where I am putting my time, and what processes are taking more or less, and allocate the appropriate resources to each one. Thanks to Mavenlink I can properly allocate the correct number of hours to each individual customer and their needs, and provide my customers with the proper support and assistance. A definite game changer in resource management. **What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are using Mavenlink to track timesheets for our company. Using Mavenlink, we can quickly and efficiently share timesheets and team information. Also, using Mavenlink, we can track the amount of work we are putting into each of the projects and their specific tasks and use that information to allocate resources in the future accordingly. ### 45. It also integrates with the G Suite so accessing files and your calendar is seamless. Great features like Gantt charts and activity feeds allow you to collaborate closely with your clients and display how the project is running. The collaboration that you can have between your clients is priceless, and provides you with a better reputation. **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** Only allowed one filter view when looking at all your projects which can get annoying when you want to have multiple views. Each project can only be billed at one rate, regardless of which resources are assigned, it would be great if you could bill different tasks, or by different resources. **Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble):** If you're looking for a project management tool for your professional services company, Mavenlink is a great tool that allows you to track your projects, employees, providing insights, and integrate with multiple other software. **What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Gaining better visibility across all of our projects, and can give us a sense of what projects are coming down the pipeline. We've been able to utilize the insights and reporting tools to make strategic decisions that help us be more efficient and effective. It has been able to help us easily follow along with our projects so we can intervene before anything gets out of hand, this has helped us realize many cost savings. ### 46. The overall design of the website is very intuitive as well as very organized which leads to easy navigation. Project management made very easy through the application since it ensures the entire aspects of the project are accounted for (budget details, expenses, time and many other factors) Time tracking made easy with MavenLink. Expense tracking is very much easy with the application as well which leads to better expense tracking for the organization in the most appropriate manner. Expense reports creation is so seamless and easy which leads to preventing any expense leakages. **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** Nothing which comes to my mind really now. May be the tabs can be modernized better to give an even more pleasing and aesthetic appeal. Expense tracking is very much easy with the application as well which leads to better expense tracking for the organization in the most appropriate manner. Expense reports creation is so seamless and easy which leads to preventing any expense leakages. I appreciate being able to run a report that actually gets me closer to a realistic project burn if time has been entered and rates are configured correctly. Reminders to enter time would be helpful as well. **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** The lack of forecasting. While creating a custom report can let you see a rough scale of where things will wind up, you don't have the ability to adjust allocations to see what adjustments could bring your project back within budget. I would prefer that project management gantt/project plan tool be disconnected from tasks for time tracking or be connected only optionally. I do not use the tool for project plans because I do not want to confuse the team when every single task or milestone appears for time tracking when every tasks is rarely applicable for the entire team. However, a project plan tool would be helpful to have attached to the same area. I also noticed team members can enter expenses toward by projects even when there is no expense budget or approval to use such a feature. These get lost. I felt the data mapping an import from our legacy tool was poorly completed and re-run several times. This resulted in hours of rework when 70 + person teams have to be re-entered. **Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble):** be descriptive in your goals for the tool, as its not cheap to implement so you need to ensure its the right decision for your organization **What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you?** resource allocations and rates are much more robustly used. Previously our tool (10k feet) was absolutely horrible at showing actual time burned and whether it was over or under the allocations. I like the ability to create robust custom reports ### 48. Hours are tracked by the week, and I am able to see how much over the 100% allocation I go over/under. It's also very easy to export hours (once initially figured out). **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** Honestly, I can't think of many things I don't like. One perhaps is that it took me a while to figure out how to export my hours, but once I did, it became effortless. The only other complaint I have is that once I submit my hours for the week, they are no longer editable. This makes it tough to correct mistakes that will inevitably be made. **Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble):** I don't have any recommendations for others, given my experience with Mavenlink. All I would tell them is that it's an excellent service for tracking time. **What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem of having a space I can easily track my hours worked has been solved. I think one of the main benefits I've realized is that I can see what percentage of hours allocated to my role have been filled throughout the week. I love this because I'm definitely a math guy. By seeing how far along I am in terms of percentage, I can gauge how much more I "need" to work every week. Generally, it's helped me work more because I can set goals of over 100% to hit every week and keep track of my progress using this feature. ### 49. The account manager breaks down the project, and I just have to track my time against my deliverables. I can always see how I'm doing for the week as a percentage. The user experience for this is amazing and I love being able to see the split between my billable and non-billable hours. I also enjoy I don't need to create a new line everytime I log work for the same project. **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** I wish there was a way to sort tasks according to deadline or have things in My Tasks change colours when they are nearing deadline or over deadline. If there was a way to sort or move tasks so they don't just appear alphabetically that would be great. **Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble):** The better you build a project and add details and break down tasks, the more your team will be able to work seamlessly and quickly. For creatives, this saves you having to create all sorts of systems and spreadsheets and I find it way more organized than other CRM tools because it doesn't include a chat function. Also - update details and timelines early and OFTEN! The more you use MVL to its full potential as a platform, the more you reap the rewards. **What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you?** Keeping all of my projects and information/details in one place. Keeping track of all of my project deadlines in one place. Easy to spot new projects. Whenever I don't know what to work on, I just scroll through and it reminds me of things I need to follow up on. Plus, checking complete and having the task disappear is useful to prevent overwhelm. ### 50. They assign you a support person to manage all of your questions and work with you to make sure the tool is fitting your needs. They constantly improve on how they communicate changes and are building a community of companies to help each other out. They have very informative meetings and have support over multiple timezones to always have someone there working when needed. That is really a benefit for our company as we are also spread through Europe, Asia, and the Americas. **What do you dislike about Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble)?** Sometimes the adaption process for new joiners is a little bit difficult but once they get past that learning period they really become more efficient. Kimble is working with us to develop onboarding training as part of their customer library to make this process easier. **Recommendations to others considering Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble):** I would recommend Kimble to any company looking for a truly global solution. They have the support staff to adapt to your needs. No matter if you are a large company with an internal support staff such as ours or a smaller company with a dependency on Kimble as in my first company to implement Kimble. I have played almost every role in the user side of Kimble. I went from a standard user to a power user. I was then a country operation manager and then supported multiple countries working with global management. Then I lead a team of business analysis focusing on how the company is to work on Kimble to now the global application manager. I worked in locations with 25-50 users and now the company with close to 6,000 users. I can truly say the tool can adapt to any role that you have and let you easily focus on what is important. **What problems is Kantata Professional Services Automation (formerly Mavenlink+ Kimble) solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use it for the whole process from pipeline management in sales, resource management, staffing, delivery, and invoicing. The ability to report on where your business is in a few clicks is very beneficial to our senior management. It makes the system, and our Business, completely transparent allowing the users to know exactly where to focus.
