"Good Color Coding, Bad Functionality, Customization, Navigation & Usability"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I like the color coding

I like being able to see what other projects people are working on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

-It is very hard to tell which week you have selected

-It's annoying to filter down to the right person while still keeping the sidebar that shows overages

-The idea of assigning time over a timeline of hours is bad, and I would rather just have a numeric total of hours per project for that week

-Swapping between my view of hours and the project view is cumbersome

-I still don't know how to find milestones added to projects

-Some people who enter time stretch a bucket of hours across several weeks, which makes it impossible to easily know how much time you have on a project for one specific week without having to do math

- Splitting time across a week into daily amounts is not useful, because due to context switching, you are likely splitting hours assigned over a week for a project into specific days to reduce the need for context switching between 6 projects in one day

- I mostly just use it as a list of which projects to focus on, and try to make sense of the hours assignments, but that is a large challenge Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive, Visually Appealing, and Essential for Project Management"
What do you like best about Float.com?

Float has become an essential tool in my daily workflow. Tracking hours and planning project tasks is incredibly intuitive, thanks to its clean and well-structured interface. The design is visually appealing without being distracting, making it easy to stay organised and focused. Overall, a very user-friendly platform that truly supports efficient project management Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

While Float is excellent for day-to-day planning, one aspect I find less convenient is the limited flexibility in custom reporting and time-tracking breakdowns. For more complex or multi-level project structures, it would be helpful to have deeper filtering options and more detailed analytics available directly within the interface Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Useful for Tackling Resource Bottlenecks, But Room for UI Improvements"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I find Float to be an exceptionally intuitive tool, particularly because its setup process was very simple, making it easy for not just me but also for others I trained. The straightforward nature helped ensure no major hurdles when starting out. I really appreciate how Float effectively addresses resource bottlenecks and simplifies planning for staffing on projects. It has become an integral part of our weekly meetings, acting as a central point for discussions regarding team time management. The feature that allows splitting time on the schedule is extremely useful, enabling us to manage project workloads on a daily basis rather than being constrained to weekly or monthly views. The logging feature is also great; it's very user-friendly, contrasting positively with other cumbersome timesheet systems we've experienced. One of my favorite things about Float is its overall design—it is aesthetically pleasing and designed with user experience in mind, showing a lot of thought and care from the development team. The customer service is outstanding; whenever I reached out for help, they were quick and keen to assist, demonstrating a strong support system even though we're not on the highest support tier. Their dedication makes a real difference. My positive experience with Float suggests that the company made a commendable decision in adopting this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I dislike that the email invitations sent to new users cannot be rescinded once dispatched, leading to situations where adjustments cannot be made promptly. The feature that allows time splitting on the schedule has occasional bugs, causing issues when attempting to fine-tune the exact time splits, which can be frustrating during active scheduling. Additionally, the view customization in the scheduled time view is limited, allowing changes only between days, weeks, and months without finer control such as vertical and horizontal zoom for better adaptability. The project report section lacks the instant intuitiveness found in other parts of the software, making it less user-friendly. It's not clear and requires additional time to understand, unlike the more straightforward log and schedule sections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Visually Intuitive Resource Management Tool"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I appreciate Float for its visually intuitive design, which makes it easy to manage and adjust hours and timeslots for resource management. The Timeline view is particularly useful, letting me effortlessly see and plan the hours available across different weeks, including special leaves. This feature helps me understand project demands and my weekly priorities at a glance. The ease with which I can visually assess and tweak scheduling makes it an excellent tool for large teams, facilitating better resource allocation and availability tracking. I love how Float helps protect my time, ensuring I can focus on my priorities while being aware of how my hours are distributed across projects. It is incredibly beneficial to see roles and responsibilities clearly in a cross-country team, highlighting who might be overextended or available for new assignments. This system's comprehensive view offers significant support in managing our team's workload effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I can't really think of anything in particular that I dislike about Float. One suggestion would be to add a feature allowing users to comment or react to changes directly on the project hours. This could facilitate discussions about a project's hours within the platform itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive UI and Easy Time Management, But Miss a Traditional Calendar View"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I use float multiple times a day, and the UI is super intutive, love the flow and how easy it is to update and categorize/edit people's time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I actually wish you could view the calendar as a "normal" calendar view vs a Gantt chart sometimes because it can be hard to quickly pick up on what day of the week you're looking at, etc. (Maybe you CAN do this view and I just haven't figured it out yet!)

But a lot of times when we're scheduling things I find myself having to have float up on one screen and my apple calendar app up on another screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive Project Tracking, But Overwhelming Features and Customization Limits"
What do you like best about Float.com?

The upsides to using Float is the ability to track projects, hours and budget for each job in an intuitive way that spans multiple offices and personnel. For the most part I find Float easy to use as it's quite intuitive for the basic functions. While having many settings and functions can be very helpful it can also feel very overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I sort of mentioned this in what I like best about float. There are so many functions that it can feel overwhelming. It feels like I'm underutilizing the functions as I don't have time to explore and I'm also not sure of what I don't know if that makes sense. For the parts that I use most frequently I wish there was a way to make things more customizable as I'm tracking hours or functions of a project. I've noticed that I have the most problems with moving timelines once their set and that's really frustrating. I'm also having difficulties navigating the reporting function but I imagine it's more because I haven't had time to explore that part. While I can see most of my projects are in the red I'd like a better sense of why? Are people entering hours accurately? And if so, how would I know? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Resource Allocation with User-Friendly Interface"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I find Float incredibly user-friendly, with a very clear interface that simplifies project planning. The setup process was very straightforward, which made the transition to using Float smooth and efficient. I love how Float allows us to allocate staff resources effectively, providing us with a clear picture of what people should be working on and where they are needed. This capability enables us to decide on taking more projects with confidence, knowing we have the resources scheduled adequately. The drag-and-drop feature is extremely useful for moving projects around, making scheduling simple and intuitive. I also appreciate the color-coding system, which adds clarity and ease in tracking and managing resources. The platform is affordable and easy for anyone to pick up, fulfilling our essential planning needs very effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I never use the project timeline feature because it doesn't really suit my needs; it doesn't work very well for my purposes. There's sometimes a little too much inflow, and I don't use it to schedule out a project and tasks since I really just use it to allocate resources. A more focused view that allows monitoring of what large projects people are working on would be great, as my projects are usually long and I prefer to let project managers handle the specifics. "Streamlined Task Management and Team Coordination"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I have been using Float for over a year now, and I find that it greatly simplifies my work process. The setup was straightforward, which I really appreciated, as it allowed me to quickly integrate it into my daily routine. What I love about Float is how it lets me keep track of upcoming tasks and deadlines, ensuring that I stay organized and ahead of my work schedule. It's particularly useful for project tracking and filling out timesheets, which are key components of my job. This efficiency means that everyone, from managers to the accounts team, is able to see when projects are due, keeping the whole team on the same page. This transparency has improved our workflow significantly. Additionally, using Float alongside other tools like Outlook and a notes app allows me to cross-reference information, but Float stands out in helping us maintain clear communication and schedule management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I would add notifications when a deadline is approaching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time Scheduling Made Easy with Intuitive Features and Organization"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I really appreciate being able to view all of my coworkers' schedules and monitor them in real time. The feature that lets you track whether an employee is working remotely, onsite with a client, or out of the office is especially useful. I also like that each scheduled item has a note section for adding details, and the tentative box makes it clear what each staff member is doing and when they will be away. It's helpful that you can look back at past schedules as well as forward to see upcoming events. I also find it convenient that you can move people around as needed, assign tasks to multiple people at once, and use color coding for clients or tasks to keep everything organized and easy to manage.

Float is easy to use for any company that has employees that they need to create schedules for. It has great implementation results and people can learn how to use it quickly. I use float multiple times a day, and I enjoy that there is both a webpage and an app on my phone to check my schedule in real time. Float is easy to set up and easy to integrate into any business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I honestly can't think of anything I would want to change about Float. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
