Time Clock Software

Typically, Time Clock is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best Time Clock Software.

Clock in, and clock out. Part-time and hourly workers are very familiar with the concept, both manual and electronically, and depend on the accuracy of a time clock to get paid for their time at work. Human resources and payroll departments depend on the regurgitation of time clocks to pay their employees. The lives of users and administrators of time clocks are made much easier when time clocks are easy to use and require the least amount of onboarding. Time clocks and time tracking software increases productivity in employees because it allows for accountability among employees as well as offers security regarding time data. Time clocks play a part in workforce management in addition to payroll software, as time tracking software can be integrated either directly into a time clock hardware or deployed in the cloud.

“Simple, All-in-One Payroll and HR That Saves Time and Brings Peace of Mind”
What do you like best about RUN Powered by ADP?

What I like most about RUN Powered by ADP is how simple and convenient it makes managing payroll and HR tasks. I really appreciate having everything in one place—especially payroll processing, tax filing, employee information, and reporting. The platform saves me time and gives me peace of mind, because I know key payroll and compliance requirements are being handled accurately. I also like that it’s user-friendly and easy to access whenever I need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about RUN Powered by ADP?

One thing I dislike is that certain features and processes can be hard to navigate, especially when I’m trying to make changes or locate specific information. On top of that, there can be extra costs for some services and features, which can make the platform feel more expensive overall than I initially expected. Customer support is generally helpful, but when the issue is more complex, getting it fully resolved can sometimes take longer than I’d prefer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is RUN Powered by ADP solving and how is that benefiting you?

RUN helps simplify payroll processing, tax compliance, and employee record management. It saves me time by automating many of the administrative tasks associated with payroll and gives me confidence that employees are being paid accurately and payroll taxes are being handled properly. This allows me to spend less time on payroll administration and more time focusing on running the business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Intuitive HRIS and Strong Performance, But Not Well-Suited for India”
What do you like best about Rippling?

The HRIS feature is intuitive, and if you can afford their AI package, it's formidable. In terms of performance, the speed and availability of the site in the browser and the app are pretty good, as I have yet to experience downtime. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rippling?

3 big issues, 1- If you are in India, avoid this product, as it's US-focused, and the way the features translate for Indian employees/users is very poor.

2- They operate with a set of "partners" that you are forced to sign up with as part of the implementation process. Example- if you do not sign up with their bank, they will not do your payroll. If you do not sign up with their Insurance partner, your benefits module will not work. And all of this will not be revealed until you sign a contract with them.

3- Even worse is their compliance module. Right from our first payroll, they have made multiple errors in our EPFO entries, and despite months of follow-up, they are unable to resolve them and are now claiming they outsource this work to a third party and are continually blaming the Government of India and the third party for their inability to fix their own blunders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Rippling solving and how is that benefiting you?

Since we are a company spread across 3 continents, Rippling manages to get every employee onto a single platform reasonably well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Approachable UI That Makes Time Off, Time Tracking, and Payroll Easy”
What do you like best about Gusto?

Gusto’s user interface is extremely approachable. It saves me time each day by helping me organize my tasks and keep track of the projects I’m working on. As a nonprofit, it’s a great tool for our staff to monitor how they’re dividing their time and how that time is being spent, so when we review and audit hours, everything is already there for us.

Requesting time off and tracking accruals is also incredibly well organized. Often, it’s hard to understand where our hours come from and how many requests we’ve submitted, but Gusto makes it easy. As an employee, it’s also great for tracking payroll—from when it’s approaching, to when it’s approved, to when it’s on its way to my bank account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gusto?

The only downside I’ve run into while using Gusto is that it’s difficult to submit time off that should be unpaid. Because of this, our agency has had some trouble establishing a consistent method for tracking requested time off that isn’t accounted for in Gusto. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Gusto solving and how is that benefiting you?

Instant paystub access and income verification make it easy for employees to access their information without having to request it. They can bypass the operations team, and those extra, time-consuming tasks are handled directly online in the app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Seamless AI That Turns Board Updates Into Actionable Next Steps Fast”
What do you like best about monday AI Work Platform?

What I love most about the monday AI Work Platform is how seamlessly it fits into my daily workflow, rather than feeling like a separate tool I have to keep switching to. Being able to summarize long board updates, draft content directly in docs, and auto-generate task breakdowns within my existing projects saves me a lot of time on repetitive admin work. It doesn’t just generate text; it actually understands the context of my project data, which helps me turn raw ideas and team updates into clear, actionable next steps in seconds. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about monday AI Work Platform?

What I dislike most about the monday AI Work Platform is that its AI features are closely tied to the higher-tier pricing plans, which makes it costly for smaller teams or individual users to access the platform’s full potential. Also, when boards become heavily populated with complex automations and large volumes of data, the interface can sometimes lag or feel overly cluttered. That means it takes extra effort to keep the workspace organized, clean, and running smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is monday AI Work Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?

The monday AI Work Platform solves the hassle of scattered communication, manual admin, and messy project data by bringing everything directly into my workspace. Instead of spending hours digging through long comment threads, manually writing status updates, or bouncing between separate AI tools just to process project information, the built-in AI takes care of it for me right on my boards. It saves me a ton of time on repetitive tasks, keeps my team’s context in one place, and helps me focus on doing the actual work rather than constantly managing it. “Great for Tracking Time/Pay; Privacy and Customizability Could Use Work”
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

It’s very easy to see my hours in either my own time zone or my organization’s, and the navigation to different types of views is really obvious. As a contractor, I’m happy that most of my clients/agencies use Hubstaff; it makes it simple to calculate hours, handle invoicing, etc., without having to learn a new system every time. Depending on the client, the ability to add hours myself and edit time is also really nice.

I’m also fond of the (newer, I think!) feature that lets you discard idle time and keep going, or turn it off. It’s MUCH nicer than realizing I left something running accidentally and then having to contact an administrator, and so on.

Overall it’s mostly straightforward, and it keeps improving. It’s a pretty good setup. The UI could maybe be a tiny bit cleaner and less technical, but it’s still easy to use, and it breaks things down into a good mix of granular and less-granular views so you have solid options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

Something that perplexes me is that the UI seems to treat every member or hire as if they’re an organization leader. For example, I don’t have permission to create reports or search other members, but those options still show up anyway. The UI doesn’t adjust to my role or assume I’m only looking for my own data (since I don’t manage anyone), so it ends up feeling like unnecessary clutter. I’ll click into “Reports” hoping to find what I need, only to realize I can’t customize most of it.

That’s a good segue into another issue: there are some odd gaps in customizability that lead to hunting around in nooks and crannies for basic information.

The #1 culprit for me here is earnings visibility. One thing I’d really like is an easy way to see how much I made per day, and to be able to move that date range around. Right now, I can put how much I made “today” or “this week” on my dashboard, just like I can with hours worked, which is great. But if I want to look at a different week to compare what I worked, I can’t change the range from the dashboard. Timesheets is right there for hours, but earnings are much harder to locate. It shows briefly on the home page, but to find weekly earnings where I can actually change the date range, I have to go into “Reports”—a section I mostly don’t need as an individual with no direct reports. Thankfully there’s a favorites feature, but it still feels like this should be easier to access without having to dig.

My absolute #1 issue (I’m listing it second only because I realize this is probably a feature that helps sell Hubstaff, but I’m still passionate about it) is that I’m not a fan—understatement—of screenshot software or “smart” URL/app-based auto-productivity assessment. To me, it seems like a major PII/privacy/potential HIPAA risk. If, halfway through a work session, Hubstaff captures sensitive information like passwords via screenshot, or I have to quickly reply to an email involving my medical history in the middle of a task, that information is exposed to my managers and potentially to Hubstaff staff. And, there's further risk around that, especially given how quick text is to pull from images: if Hubstaff were hacked while those screenshots are stored on servers, that information could be leaked. From a privacy and legal standpoint, this seems not only unfair but dangerous.

(Additionally, I don’t really have much of an option in my own privacy where Hubstaff is concerned: while I can choose not to work with a client, I have to opt into whatever my clients choose to capture in order to earn money at all. Sometimes that includes signing contracts before they disclose their time tracking and invoicing methods. That's not Hubstaff's fault, but it does mean that the more privacy-aware time tracking methods are -- and the more they highlight what they do to keep individual contributors' data safe -- the more I appreciate them.)

This kind of software also ends up policing what tools people use, especially since it’s used by task-based freelancers who may genuinely need to open websites that look random, entertainment-based, or social as part of their work. That can waste project manager/admin time too, with inflated “low productivity” numbers or alerts that then have to be investigated, or, worse, it can punish workers when those PMs don’t investigate closely.

If there’s a real pattern of low performance, it will show up in other places than which apps someone has open, and there are other tools to evaluate it with that don't bundle with time tracking. I would suggest that it makes more sense to offer these measures after the fact as an option for managers to use selectively—for example, focusing on individuals who show long-term patterns, like excessive idle time, repeated “keep and resume” on idle popups, or who have already been flagged via other KPIs—but not to be turned on across the board as part of onboarding, which forces employees or contractors to accept broad policing measures just to log time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?

For me, it’s the main way I track my time and communicate to my client how much I’ve worked. So, I suppose, it replaces having to manually track tasks and create invoices, and it saves them from having to bill me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Paycom?

The customer service is great. Our specialist, Jessica Slingerland, is very knowledgeable, always makes time for us and is quick to respond to our requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paycom?

I dislike that there are no videos that show you how to do something. When you search in the help section there is so much information but it is always in the form of a PDF. I prefer videos that I can watch and pause as I work through issues. It is also difficult to find what you are exactly needing in the help center. Reporting is also a downside. We aren't able to build reports from different modules into one report. Also, some of the nuisances with effective dates in the future are annoying. I can't place someone into a new position or update a supervisor with a future effective date. Having to pay extra for PAF's is a little annoying and we can't customize it the way that we need it to. “A genuine day-to-day workhorse — and getting smarter with AI”
What do you like best about ClickUp?

ClickUp has become the backbone of how I organise my workload day to day. What stands out most is how flexible it is — whether I'm tracking campaign tasks, managing deadlines across multiple brands, or keeping an overview of where projects stand, it adapts to how I actually work rather than forcing me into a rigid structure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ClickUp?

It can feel quite messy and all over the place, and I don't always find what I need as quickly as I should — with so many views, statuses, and nested spaces, things can end up scattered rather than easy to locate. It's also slow to load at times, and I've had occasions where tickets show up blank even though they're fully populated with information, which is confusing and means I sometimes have to refresh or dig around to confirm the ticket actually has the detail I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ClickUp solving and how is that benefiting you?

When it's running smoothly, it helps me keep on top of a busy, multi-brand workload without things slipping through the cracks, and linking it with AI tools has started to take some of the manual organising off my plate. I have also now integrated it with Claude. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Fast, Reliable Payments with Deel Advance”
What do you like best about Deel Payroll?

Deel doesn’t delay your pay. The thing I liked most is Deel Advance, because it offers more reasonable interest rates and approves your advance request right then and there. With Deel Pay, you don’t have to wait for “sunshine” to show before your pay lands in your preferred bank account. Once your pay hits your Deel account, you can set it to be sent automatically to your preferred bank details, so you don’t have to transfer it manually. That way, when you wake up, your pay is already there—no delays whatsoever. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Deel Payroll?

The browser can feel a bit laggy at times, but it doesn’t affect overall performance. I can also see that updates and improvements are being made as the weeks go by. The system itself is user-friendly, and it’s very easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Deel Payroll solving and how is that benefiting you?

This benefits me because it handles everything from invoicing to payroll. I don’t have to manually create an invoice from scratch or run into issues with the hours I’m logging, because Deel takes care of that for you. Even the contract itself is created for you, and once you’re done proofreading it and you’re happy with it, you just have both parties sign, and Deel handles the rest. What do you like best about TriNet PEO?

I like that TriNet combines several HR functions into a single platform, which makes payroll, benefits, and employee information much easier to manage. The interface is generally straightforward, and having everything centralized saves time compared with switching between multiple systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about TriNet PEO?

One thing I don’t like is that some parts of the platform feel less intuitive than others, especially when I’m trying to locate specific settings or information. A few workflows take more clicks than I expect, which can make simple tasks feel unnecessarily drawn out. It would be much better with simpler navigation and clearer guidance, particularly for features I don’t use very often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is TriNet PEO solving and how is that benefiting you?

TriNet simplifies payroll, benefits administration, and other day-to-day HR tasks by bringing everything together in one platform. “Jibble Makes Time Tracking Easy and Dependable”
What do you like best about Jibble?

It has been reliable. I built it for tracking time and attendance, and the interface is simple and easy for our team to use every day. Overall, the experience has been positive, although there’s still room for improvement in areas like reporting and export options, integrations, and mobile app performance. Even with those gaps, Jibble is a solid, user-friendly tool, and I would recommend it to other teams looking for a dependable time and attendance solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Jibble?

The main area I’d like to see improved is the reporting and export functionality. Right now, the custom reporting options feel somewhat limited, and exporting payroll or attendance data often ends up requiring extra manual work afterward. Having more flexible report templates, easier-to-set custom date ranges, and a wider selection of export formats would make the overall workflow smoother, easier, and more efficient. What problems is Jibble solving and how is that benefiting you?

It provides an accurate, centralized way to track when employees clock in and out, monitor attendance patterns, and generate records for payroll processing. WebWork Time Tracker is a feature-rich piece of software that offers not just a wide range of features, but ones that are genuinely useful and productive—exactly what professionals like us look for in a tool like this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about WebWork Time Tracker?

Although the UI has been improved recently, it still lacks the modern UX that software these days should have. We also haven’t really integrated WebWork Tracker with other software, so we’re not familiar with what that experience is like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is WebWork Time Tracker solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before implementing WebWork Time Tracker, we struggled to get clear visibility into employee activity, task progress, and how time was being spent across different projects. This lack of clarity made it hard to accurately monitor productivity, allocate resources effectively, and keep projects on schedule.

With WebWork Time Tracker, we can now monitor employee activity more easily, track time spent on specific tasks, and manage projects in a more organized way. The detailed insights help us spot bottlenecks, strengthen accountability, and make better-informed decisions when assigning work.

“Hassle-Free Self-Service for Attendance and Payslips.”
What do you like best about Keka?

What I like most about Keka is how hassle-free day-to-day self-service is. Tracking attendance, regularizing missed logs, and downloading payslips or Form 16 takes just a few clicks. Not having to reach out to HR for routine documents saves me and the admin team a lot of time every month. As an end-user, I don't handle the billing or software costs, but from a daily usage perspective, it delivers great value. It saves me significant time by letting me access payslips, apply for leaves, and regularize attendance on my own without needing constant follow-ups with HR. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Keka?

Occasional mobile app glitches can be frustrating, especially when location-based attendance tracking or clocking in takes longer than expected due to slow loading. Additionally, sync delays between the app and web portal sometimes make real-time status updates lag slightly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Keka solving and how is that benefiting you?

Keka resolves the friction of tracking attendance, remote check-ins, and leave requests across a distributed workforce. “Paylocity Recruiting Streamlines Hiring and Onboarding Seamlessly”
What do you like best about Paylocity?

Paylocity’s Recruiting platform has been a game changer for us. Being able to manage the candidate hiring process from the very beginning and then seamlessly link it to the onboarding process once someone is hired has simplified and strengthened our overall workflow, making things easier for both applicants and our HR team. For a YMCA with a large hourly, part-time, seasonal, or multi-program workforce, I would generally view Paylocity as potentially high-value because the savings aren't just in payroll—they're in HR administration, manager time, compliance, and employee self-service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paylocity?

I do wish there were a bit more flexibility in the recruiting aspect, especially when it comes to creating applicant forms. Right now, some of the information we’d like to collect isn’t included, which can slow down the hiring manager during the review process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Paylocity solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us integrate our benefits platform with our employee base, which is extremely beneficial for alleviating the need for paper forms during open enrollment. Paylocity AI is also helpful because employees can ask questions, look up policies specific to our association, and get answers to things they may not think to ask when they are first hired. “Simple, Clear Timesheet Tracking That Keeps Submissions On Time”
What do you like best about ClickTime?

What I like most about ClickTime is its simple and clear timesheet tracking. It shows daily hours, total hours worked, required weekly hours, and approval status at a glance, making it easy to monitor progress, complete timesheets accurately, and submit them on time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ClickTime?

What I dislike about ClickTime is that entering time can feel repetitive, especially when logging the same hours across multiple days or projects. The interface is functional but somewhat dated, and making adjustments or corrections can require several clicks compared to more modern time-tracking tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is ClickTime solving and how is that benefiting you?

ClickTime solves the problem of tracking work hours, managing leave, and ensuring timesheets are completed accurately. It benefits me by providing a clear overview of my weekly hours, helping me stay compliant with reporting requirements, reducing administrative effort, and making it easy to submit timesheets for approval on time. Original Information
“BambooHR Makes Everyday Leave Tracking and Seeing Who’s Out Effortless”
Describe the project or task BambooHR helped with:

BambooHR provides a centralized platform for managing employee-related tasks, from booking annual leave to accessing personal information and signed documents. It streamlines daily operations, reduces administrative burdens, and enhances accessibility to crucial HR data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about BambooHR?

What I like best about BambooHR is how useful it is for simple day to day tasks. I regularly use it to book annual leave, check how many holidays I have remaining and see who is in or out of the business. Having all this in one place makes things much quicker and saves having to contact HR for information I can easily find myself.

The who's out calendar is probably one of the features I use most. For example, if I'm on the phone with a customer and they ask to speak to someone in another team, I can quickly check BambooHR to see if that person is off that day. I can give the customer an answer straight away rather than putting them on hold or messaging around the business trying to find out.

That's actually been an unexpected benefit for me. I originally saw BambooHR mainly as somewhere to manage things like holidays and employee information, but I find myself using it during my normal working day as well. It's also useful when planning my own annual leave because I can check when other people are away before submitting a request. Overall, it makes a lot of those small everyday tasks much quicker and easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about BambooHR?

There isn't anything major that I dislike about BambooHR, especially for the everyday things I use it for. One area I think could be improved is how the holiday calendar connects with other tools we use day to day. It would be useful if annual leave and other time off like appointments etc in BambooHR could automatically feed into my Outlook calendar, so I wouldn't need to check different places when planning meetings or looking at someone's availability.

I use the who's out calendar a lot, particularly when I'm speaking to customers and need to quickly whether someone from another team is available. Because of that, having that information more closely integrated with Outlook or Teams would make it even more useful.

It's not something that causes a major problem, but it would save a bit of time and make BambooHR feel more connected to the other tools I use throughout the working day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering BambooHR:

To enhance BambooHR's functionality, consider integrating the holiday calendar with other tools like Outlook or Teams. This would streamline the process of checking availability and planning meetings, making it even more efficient for daily use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is BambooHR solving and how is that benefiting you?

BambooHR makes it much easier having everything employee and HR related in one place, I can manage annual leave and half days, record things like appointments and bereavement leave, and access information around maternity and paternity leave without having to go back and forth with HR. Personal information changes, pay and bonus updates, signed documents and contract related information can all be managed and accessed through the same system.

It's also genuinely useful in my day to day work. If I'm on the phone with a customer asking for someone in another team, I can quickly check if that person is off rather than putting the customer on hold or messaging around to find out. Overall, it saves time, reduces unnecessary admin and makes important information much easier to access when you need it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have had a good experience with we360.ai. As a new administrator, I needed some time to explore the different features and understand which reports would be most useful for our team.
