There is no need for us to purchase tools that we will not utilize. Their customer care team is always eager to assist and proactively informs us about new features or any other updates that may be of interest. As someone who studied translation as a major a decade ago, I am incredibly impressed by the tools available today that enhance our work, improve efficiency, and help us reach a wider audience with our products. What would have been a dream few decades ago is now a reality. I cannot wait to see what next year brings! There are many great features but I think my favourite is the variety of ways you can set up different workflows to cater for various scenarios in specific projects. The filtering options in the Strings view are also really detailed and allow you to be incredibly specific about what you're looking for. Overall, I find it to be a very user-friendly product. There is not a lot to dislike, to be honest. I've been using the platform daily for almost 3 years and recent updates have improved a few things I found cumbersome or confusing before. There are a couple of minor things I would improve, such as an additional filtering option in the Word Counts report to filter by linguist, and the ability to download reports or export strings in XLSX format rather than CSV. Their translation platform is easy to learn and use. I appreicate the ability to be able to manually change previously translated words or phrases. We use their GDN product, so it was easy fairly to implement and didn't create additional integration work for our IT colleagues.

This also allowed us to integrate the product into a different content management system.

We primarily use their machine translation service and have been happy with the quality of the translation in the 13 languages that we translate. We've also used their human translation option and have been happy with the quick turnaround time.

I use Smartling daily to translate our company website into many different languages. It always works smoothly and the support team is amazing and answers quickly in case you need assistance. They always consider our needs and apply solutions to the CAT Tool and our profile. The CAT Tool itself is very intuitive but in any case, there is plenty of training material available on their website for any case scenario. Sometimes it is slow and the connector with AEM does not work well. Another thing I don't like is that the interface changes depending on the role and it is difficult to impersonate other roles. The translation memory and interface overall is easy to use, if you are already familiar with the translation process.

Reporting in Smartling is not always useful since we have multiple teams with multiple projects using one account with different billing structures.

Accounting for project costs have been extremely challenging

Issue management is difficult to use- difficult to assign what to do with each issue.

We are facing a number of integration challenges with Contentstack. Missing entries, re-publishing process, workflow routing.

Quite a good number of features including machine translations and good amount of integrations. The customer support is no doubt fantastic, specially a lot of help that we received while integrating was quite useful. The implementation was quite simple and required minimal gudiance. The documentation is quite elaborate, good and easy to understand. Integration with various AI platform as well as Smartling based AI models is definitely a plus and we are looking forward to use the same to fastrack our localisation processes. The only thing is the UI for viewing jobs, projects and strings, which can be a little more intuitive. It is not bad but slightly difficult to navigate for first timers. Will be nice if that can be made more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Smartling enables both PMs and translators to work online, as it integrates the entire translation project workflow. Translators are immediately notified by email when a project is assigned and can get to work straight away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'd like Smartling to be able to display the POs for each project and clearly show the breakdowns. I'd also like the platform to be a little less confusing when it comes to the various options for saving work between Save page and Submit. The Quality check stage could also be improved, as the results don't appear next to the translation but in another window, which makes checking more tedious than with other CAT tools. I think what I like most is the support I get from people like Adam or Ke. I often need someone to hold my hand and walk me through each steps, sometimes several times before I can do it alone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do have to do a lot of preliminary setups before translating (setting up workflows, preparing the documents, excluding strings, answering translator questions) and I wish there was a simpler way of managing the Glossary (which I'd love to do but don't have time). Smartling is good in terms of speeding up my translations, the context tab is very good. It is fairly easy to add files into projects and to download them for publication or QA into other applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Incorrect translations that were previously corrected are reverted in the review stage. Annoying TM notices. I have to add ID numbers which need to remain unchanged, but Smartling does not understand this & it is time-consuming to get the same segment to appear in both source and target segments.
