Frankly to say, have been using both Phrase Web and Phrase Desktop for several years, since the very beginning of this platform.

What I like?

I love that I can accept the project under Phrase Web, download the joined file and then continue ONLINE under Phrase Desktop with all settings. This is very useful for me as a professional translator.

Phrase Desktop features and pros:

- Very easy UI and layout

- Powerful tool - very light and fast, I can use it even on my ultrabook

- Processing e.g. 120 k word project with MTPE is very fast, scrolling works brilliant, filtering out segments works like a hurricane, almost at no time!

I love compatibility with RWS Trados Studio 2024, memoQ and other CATs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I do not like the file limit when I accept projects with more that 600-700 files.

Another problem is terminology management - at my work, I am focused on optimization and I use customized glossaries with terminology.

The feature for adding new terms requires me to use the schortcut twice and then to click required option. This does not streamline my process.

Now I use the maintenance version of Phrase Desktop - 26.2.1.

I am very disappointed that this desktop tool will be no longer developed. Please reconsider further develepment, indeed!

I really appreciate how the Phrase Localization Platform can upload almost anything and keeps the format, numbers, and the number of sentences clear. It uses AI to make translations faster, which is really helpful for speeding up the process. We use the Phrase language AI quite a bit. We also use Phrase strings and Phrase TMS, and I almost use all the features. I'm happy with them. The initial setup was quite intuitive although it took me some time, I always found what I needed and it wasn’t so difficult. It's user-friendly and straightforward. Well, the pricing model is a little bit strict. Because you pay for the AI units. You pay for a number of strings or keys that are like, hung up in Phrase. I really like the ease of use of the Phrase Localization Platform, it's definitely a standout feature. I also appreciate that the system is divided by segments, which makes the translation and error correction process easier. The already established translation memories are very useful for working with different clients. Sometimes I have trouble accessing the platform, I don't know if it's due to technical issues, but eventually I get in and everything works perfectly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It simply works. Differently from Trados, it's really plug-and-play. You can just focus on translation without worrying about errors, crashes, glitches, and all the "pleasant" things you have to face when you use Trados. TMs and glossaries work very well, you can integrate it with systems like DeepL, and you have a lot more help than Trados when you work (suggestions, terms, and the likes). I only have a small complaint with Memsource - it doesn't work well with high-DPI systems. In particular, I have a 4K monitor, but the interface (not the translation environment) is sometimes tiny, sometimes enormous. However, it isn't a big deal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The website offers a clear, accesible layout, which makes it pleasurable to work with. It has great shortcuts for adding/deleting tags in the CAT editor. The pre-translate option is great as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Spanish translation of the platform has several mistakes. Also, there are some options or elements that aren't even translated. It is quite distracting. The LQA option is rather uncomfortable to use, and the ortography mistakes that the tool spots in languages that are not English are sometimes incorrect, or sometimes not even recognized. Especially on big jobs, it makes translating so much easier. The concordance search is particularly helpful for regular clients’ terminology, and the filters help ensure consistency. Machine translation also streamlines everything and is surprisingly accurate. When collaborating with agencies, I know the other translators on the same project are using the same TM as I am, which saves hours of liaising with PMs, and the AI speeds everything up. The pricing feels in proportion to the services it offers. It’s instantly intuitive and requires zero training, even for the IT-challenged. I like using the Phrase Localization Platform for translating our mobile and web applications into 14 languages. It's easy to use and offers a rapid turnaround. I also appreciate the easy tools provided for managing translations. The integration with our translation company is pretty seamless, and we can get translations from translators who are knowledgeable in our field, ensuring that the terminology isn't lost. Slightly better integrations with providers would be nice. We always have to select a glossary for each language even though there's only one with the provider. Also, we don't really use the feedback system that the system provides, but bubbling up problems that the translators are bringing up when needed would be nice.
