## Builder.io Reviews
  ### 1. Outdated Docs and Poor Support Mar Experience

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tara F.

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

I appreciate the ability to design custom interfaces with Builder.io, which allows me to create unique pages that interact with our database and backend. This integration enhances our control over how information is pulled and displayed, benefiting our marketing landing pages.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

I found setting up Builder.io incredibly difficult due to outdated and incorrect developer documentation. Additionally, the customer service is very delayed, unhelpful, and seems indifferent to solving issues, which has been the worst part of my experience. This poor level of support significantly impacts my willingness to repurchase or recommend the product.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Builder.io to quickly design custom interfaces and integrate them with our database, streamlining our marketing landing and other content pages.

  ### 2. Paid for Pro - Still stuck on the Free plan...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam K. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Seems like it would be a great product...so I purchased and subscribed to the pro plan. However, it still says i'm stuck on the same free plan - and support is not helpful.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

Their support team is very slow... and not very helpful. I paid for my susbcription, I should be able to use it immediately.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was looking to use the auto generator

  ### 3. Force Multiplier

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin T. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Builder allows our engineers and business organizations to move faster. We were able to migrate to builder and start building in only 20 days. The ability for our business to work without engineers has been invaluable. The A/B testing has proven to be a game changer. Allow us to serve content and productsthat our customers are most interested in, and reduced guess work within our teams.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

Lack of documentation around plugin system.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allowing our engineers to develop new features for customers and not spend time building landing pages. It has allowed our marketing team to be atonomous and not realy on engineers for every change. It's given us the capability to build fully dynamic pages that serve customers where their at.

  ### 4. Excelent product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reinaldo A. | Head of Tech, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

I really enjoy having a visual editor and the flexibility to deploy on my infrastructure and the option for multicloud alternatives.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

The thing I dislike the most is when the editor crashes and the cache takes too long to refresh the preview.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The marketing team can easily modify the landing pages without needing technical knowledge.

  ### 5. Great product and team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julien C. | Senior Director, Engineering - Product Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Builder.io is an incredible tool, and the team behind it has truly made a difference. Mike C, Taylor M, and Tim G in particular, have been amazingly responsive and helpful. The product's constant evolution with updates every 2-4 weeks keeps it fresh and cutting-edge. The drop (product newsletter) is a gem, and I often share it with the broader team. Builder.io's receptiveness to feedback through the public idea board is commendable, and some of my suggestions have been implemented into their roadmap. The regular webinars are a valuable resource, and since upgrading to the Enterprise tier, the self-service AB testing has been a game-changer, making it essential to our business growth.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

The initial onboarding process can be a bit tough, especially when introducing the platform to new internal business users. However, the Builder.io team has been helpful in assisting us with dedicated lunch and learn sessions, and we've even created our resource center with FAQs and best practices to facilitate a smoother onboarding experience.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Builder.io offers a solution that allows us to rapidly build page, set up A/B tests, and iterate improvements without extensive technical involvement. We currently leverage Builder.io for marketing and logged-out experiences, and foresee even more growth opportunities as we further explore its potential.

  ### 6. Innovative company backed by industry leaders

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim D. | Head of Product, Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

The platform suits both small teams for rapid prototyping with low-code editing capabilities and can scale nicely to enterprise use cases with their extendable platform. As we grew from a startup to a global enterprise company we were able to adapt the platform and write custom extensions for the specific needs of our platform. I can highly recommend it to companies and teams of any size.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

A few years ago, in the platform's early days, there were some stability issues for our specific use case, but with the team's support, they were quickly resolved. The silver lining is when these issues happened we eventually got on a call with the CTO directly, which really showed us how much the Builder.io team cared about ensuring they had a solid platform.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform enables developers and non-technical teams to rapidly prototype together. The engineers can decide which data can be managed by non-engineers in a drag and drop visual editor and which data is mission critical and should not be editable, if used correctly this can have massive implications for productivity for both technical and non-technical teams.

  ### 7. CMS of the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elyse H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Builder.io makes it so easy to create a robust, great-looking website. The possibilities with Builder are almost endless - from premade templates to creating interactive elements of my own. Builder allows us to rely less on engineering tickets and has vastly sped up production time for new pages and updates to existing pages. Even our less technically inclined team members are able to create landing pages in Builder. Some of the key things I love about Builder are how easy it is to create a support ticket in whatever page/element I'm working on, all the new product updates they release on a regular basis, the regular webinar series, and playing around with the visual editor AI.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

There's a bit of a learning curve for new users. I experienced it myself, and I know others in my organization also have. Time and experimenting with using Builder seem to help, but the help docs could be more robust to help with the learning curve.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In the past, new pages or page updates had to go through our engineering team. Builder has allowed those requests to be diverted away from engineering so they can focus on bigger business-impacting projects and has sped up the time between the request to publishing.

  ### 8. Amazing team with an amazing product!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Builder.io delivers a great product that enables us to give our team members who are not software developers the power to build stunning and complex websites with minimal need for developer intervetion. As a developer, it was fairly easy to get builder.io up and running and configured in a way that allows our team and our customers to be able to easily build and add changes to websites as they see fit.
The builder.io team is very helpful and quick to respond whenever we need support for something we are not able to figure out on our own.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

There isn't much to dislike about builder. They are constantly adding new features and fixing bugs that may arize. Out customers that we manage within builder love the product as well.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Builder is allowing us to create a library of components within builder that we can hand off to our non-developer users and customers so that they can builder websites without the needed overhead of constant developer involvement. It steemlines the website building process and frees up developer resources.

  ### 9. Builder.io is an incredibly valuable modern headless solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Trae S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

One of the biggest benefits of Builder.io is the capability to fully customize the platform as a headless solution. My team has had several very different applications and website frameworks that were all developed within Builder.io due to it being an extremely flexible and powerful platform.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

While it isn't necessarily a detractor, the full value of Builder.io is truly in the long-term investment to build your own experience / setup within the platform.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We host several of our brand websites on Builder.io, that see ~40 million visits per year altogether, as well as a few of our web applications. Builder.io is able to support our needs due to the powerful visual editor, meaning we can utilize non-technical resources to complete tasks on that platform, and due to the content models which have been extremely powerful and have allowed us to not rely on other integrations.

  ### 10. Innovative, Collaborative, Genuinely Supportive of Customer Success

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bradley S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

The level of support for existing features and collaboration on new ones that Builder.io provides is unheard of for a product this innovative. Builder.io keeps pushing the boundaries of what's technically possible making an authoring experience that promotes creative collaboration between non-technical authors and engineers.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

Engineers used to doing everything in isolation need to switch mindsets and share the work with non-technical authors. This can be an adjustment too far for some, but also exactly the point.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a solution that offered non-technical authors the ability to quickly and easily update various websites without waiting for engineering support, but also that didn't kneecap the engineers technically, allowing a plentitude of potential technical implementations and capacities best suited for the project at hand.

  ### 11. Truly the best of both worlds: A Headless CMS with a WYSIWYG editor!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

- Ease of use in editing content
- WYSIWYG Editor
- Great support
- Incredible Uptime
- Integration with custom React Components where additional functionality is needed
- Great team of folks to work with
- Open Source Contributions (i.e. Partytown, Qwik, Mitosis, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

- Custom integrations have a bit of a steep learning curve
- The Visual Editor can be a little buggy from time to time
- It's so easy to edit, structured data becomes forgotten, which can make scalability difficult

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We believe so much in what Builder provides for managing our content that we've started using it to push webviews into our native mobile applications. Building new landing pages no longer requires any kind of developer intervention, so we're able to move very quickly and test lots of new ideas often.

  ### 12. Faster implementation of marketing components into production environments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michał K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Live preview, with a range of content management tools. And the ease of migrating content between test and production environments.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

Sometimes there are a lot of options next to which there is a tooltip "Beta". I find that despite this tooltip they work beyond my expectations.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With builder.io, we need to involve the development team less, as many components can be created by the design team themselves in it. This makes it quicker to get projects into production. Just migrating content between environments is super fast. And we don't need a development window for production deployment.

  ### 13. A great way to bridge between designers and developers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven H. | Digital Content Strategist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Builder.io made the transition from a standard CMS platform to headless super easy. The interface to build pages makes it simple for our design team or our dev team to create pages with ease!

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

The limitations with implementing 3rd party code for things like iFrames, UGC galleries or other tools that are injected through another system like Google Tag Manager.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Builder.io has helped us reduce our timeline from concept to publication of content from weeks to days. With using this as our primary source for content creation, we have been able to allow non-developer members of our team to create fully functional web pages. This has helped us truly bridge the gap between our creative and technical teams.

  ### 14. Integration with Builder.io for full pages and data models

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

* Custom component integration - this is exclusive ability that allows us to build landing pages using our design system which allows to have unified design for CMS content.

* Data binding - strong ability to create dynamic content.

* Model custom fields - allows us to create custom integrations with the Org ecosystem - SEO, BI events, data fetching etc.

* Performance - live pages render time is pretty good.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

* Localization - Altough it works well for full pages, we have issues with localized data models and symbols. Also the "connect data feature" is not supporting localization, so we have to create our own integration with Builder data models to make it work with localization. In general it feels like this feature is not ready yet.

* Data binding - We both like and dislike this feature - in general this is a great feature, but it has few bugs that makes it a bit annoying from time to time - when you connect data (by builder data panel or custom integration), its needed to refresh the page multiple times until the data is available.

* Connect data - Contentful integration is not supporting SSR so we have to create our custom integration. Does not supporting localization which is key ability for us.

* Editor load time - it seems to be too slow.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The visual editor is great compared to Contentful that does not have visual editor.
Design system custom components integration is pretty easy compared to other tools.
Headless CMS which allows us to integrate Builder pages into the Org ecosystem.

  ### 15. Working with Builder.io has made us more efficient!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Our brand partners have bceome more automonous and were able to ramp up quickly. This has opened up bandwidth for our engineering resources to take on larger business impacting projects.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

We have struggled a bit getting our Mobile App onto the SDK, but the team has been super helpful in providing the support to get us there.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is freeing up our product, dev and QA teams from having to consitently make small website changes that eat up a lot of time.

  ### 16. Solid product and excellent support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marc P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

We chose builder to manage content for a React-based site and app. We've been impressed by it's flexibility and live-preview capabilities and simple integration. And their team is very responsive for any questions or concerns. They're constantly adding new features. Overall an excellent product to host multi-language content and provide staff an easy-to-use editor to make site changes without a developer.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

Content organization is a little primitive. But they're working on a new feature to address this.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can create templates that are easy for staff to use without breaking layouts. Centralizes copy in multiple languages. WYSIWYG editor.

  ### 17. Great Headless CMS that is easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Wholesale | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

The content editor is very easy to use, the people at Builder.io are incredible to work with - they are VERY responsive and listen to customer feedback.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

The editor can be buggy, if you're doing more than basic content editing it takes a bit to orient yourself to symbols, components, templates, etc.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making it easy for business users to control their content instead of a semi-technical person on our staff having to make all content updates. Creating new content areas for us faster than we could develop them. In the future, using it for some personalization.

  ### 18. Builder.io is my go-to CMS and I can't recommend it enough!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

From a developer's perspective, Builder.io is one of the best CMS's that I've had the chance to work with.

The developer experience offering a smooth and efficient workflow that simplifies the entire website building process. Their CMS allows for seamless integration with various platforms and customizations to suit most project's unique needs.

The APIs provided by Builder.io are robust and well-documented, enabling developers to create dynamic and interactive websites with ease.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

I honestly do not anything that comes to mind that I dislike about Builder.io.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Builder.io is solving our visual CMS and developer experience problems. We wanted a CMS that allows us to use our own tech stack, was feature rich and also had attention to detail in admin experience.

  ### 19. Shopify Game Changer for Designers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leif J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Visual interface with Builder templates are a game changer for Shopify. I can build entire pages and launch without getting an engineer involved. I will use Builder on all my Shopify projects going forward.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

Sometimes controls don't work as they should, however Builder support is always very helpful in resolving the issue.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using a standard Shopify theme can be very limiting. Builder provides the ability to design and build an entirely unique page that is limitless in scope.

  ### 20. CMS of the Future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

The ability to build our own components and use them immediately inside of Builder.io is invaluable.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

There is not a lot to dislike. The only issue you may run into is too many options.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Builder is helping us bridge the gap between marketing and developers. We're able to build one component that our marketing team can use across any campaign. We're also using it in conjunction with our Product team, and the ease of integration with Salesforce has proven invaulable as well.

  ### 21. I have an excellent experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

I like the autonomy of being able to create the pages without needing a developer and all the deploy bureaucracy and any other technical term to put a simple page up.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

very heavy sometimes I feel like my computer is going to fly

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

creation of a sales page, webinar, class schedules, lead capture and any page other website and automania, agility to create and perform tests.

  ### 22. Fast integration and excellent support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel B. | Principal Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

Builder was rapid for us to integrate our own custom components. We quickly deployed a landing page editor based on our own design system. It allowed us to empower our content authors to create pages within the framework of our design system. On top of that, the support of Builder is first-class. The team at Builder is enthusiastic about collaborating with us, taking our suggestions and implementing them quickly, allowing us to deliver the experience we want for our customers.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

The editing experience in Builder can be somewhat cumbersome on smaller devices and less powerful computers. However, this has improved a lot over the last few months. We're also writing our own translation layer. It'd be great if Builder had a memsource connector.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Builder allows us to build landing pages that adhere to our design system without requiring developers to implement any code. We have freedom within a framework to produce pages quickly that are on brand. The ability to supply our components is a massive benefit, it means we don't have to worry about building an editor experience. Instead, we can focus on creating a compelling design and experience while Builder takes care of the editor experience.

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

The UI is straightforward to use and the support we have received for building custom solutions has been outstading

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

Because it is a fairly new product, there are not a ton of examples on places like StackOverflow of people running into the same problems I sometimes do.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides a tremendous no-code interface for non-developers to interact with our components

  ### 25. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John S. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Builder.io?**

The user interface is very intuitive and the drag-and-drop functionality is very easy to use. Builder.io also seems to be adding features on an ongoing basis, so that is promising.

**What do you dislike about Builder.io?**

I still found it necessary to involve developers at certain stages including integration and custom styling, but I can see things consistently improving over time.

**What problems is Builder.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were building a platform for a client and certain pages needed to be dynamic, yet integrated within a platform. We were concerned a bit about how that integration might work, but it was quite seamless.
