Questionable AI language models. **What do you dislike about Smartling?** This used to be a good company many years ago, now their focus is on cheaper than cheap. **What problems is Smartling solving and how is that benefiting you?** Quality assurance, TM search and Glossary are valuable assets of the system. ### 2. I wanted to be able to delete all the AI at once in a job, but that's not possible. I have to delete it, each line separately. **What problems is Smartling solving and how is that benefiting you?** It’s using AI, but I’m not sure it’s benefiting me anymore. ### 3. When viewing the context tab, the highlight used to be yellow, but now it’s blue, which makes checking the context uncomfortable for the eyes. The lack of an option to create a personal translation memory. **What problems is Smartling solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helps maintain translation consistency when more than one translator is working on the same project. ### 4. The GDN served the pages in real time to our customers. The WordPress PlugIn gives you more control to let you decide what content you want localized or not. **What do you dislike about Smartling?** The company really doesn't know the meaning of customer success. We had to chase our CSM every time there was an issue. There was almost no support. It felt like we were in a bad marriage. We tried other competitors, and nothing worked with our instance of WordPress. Also, when you use the GDN, your content sits on the Smartling server, and they basically "own it." **What problems is Smartling solving and how is that benefiting you?** It makes it much easier to track the content that needs to be localized on the website. It makes the entire process automated, allowing translators to localize in context. That means they can see if the text doesn't fit within the frame of a button. They also integrate with ZenDesk, which made it easier to localize the knowledge base. ### 6. Many industry standard features are missing and very limited configurations available. It may be ok if you can use it as is out-of-the-box, but venture away from their standard use cases and you're in trouble. **Recommendations to others considering Smartling:** If you're starting out in localization and have a huge budget, as a first TMS, you'll probably be fine with Smartling. If you're after a robust platform for a mature localization program, I would look elsewhere. **What problems is Smartling solving and how is that benefiting you?** Software and website translation, automation.
