Less coding for marketers and a lot more time spent crafting the messaging. The templates are easy to use and you are also able to update them quickly. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** I didn't like that coding was more difficult to get too if you really wanted to change something in the html but the overall ease of use went up because the templates were so well done. **What problems is Oracle Eloqua solving and how is that benefiting you?** It helped with lead routing and large program build outs so that your could spend less time setting up emails. There is a lot more flexibility with setting up campaigns/segments/etc. than with other automation tools. I like the set up of the Campaigns, where you can see the branches and arrange the steps visually in a way that makes sense to you. Eloqua is more technical than other tools, with more of an "engineer" feel rather than a "marketing" feel. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** With all the customizability comes confusion and difficulty to grasp simple tasks sometimes. If you are not in Eloqua 24/7 then it is difficult to figure out how to complete simple tasks - like pulling a report. Also, there are many moving parts to creating an email campaign in Eloqua and you have to navigate to each section within Eloqua in order to create each separate part, instead of being able to do it all in one place. Besides the features, Eloqua is very very slow about 50% of the time, and work fails to be saved and gets written over often - leading to frustration and more work on my end. Visually, Eloqua is not as appealing as other automation tools. It's more text-based than icons and images. Not a deal breaker but just an observation. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** If you are a more technical thinker, rather than visual, then Eloqua may be the tool for you. **What problems is Oracle Eloqua solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solving the problem of coordinating and automating email sends for hundreds of event campaigns and webinar campaigns, from the invitations to the reminder emails to the follow up emails. We also really like the dashboard and the fact that you have a recent updates section, and a section with the last things you were working on. This makes it very simple to make changes quickly or pick up where you left off. The stats right in the dashboard are also a great way to get a quick overview of how your campaigns and social accounts are performing. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** A bit of training is required in the beginning to get the hang of using the program. The user interface could also be updated, but this is not a big issue for us. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** This is a very powerful program that will really change the way you approach your marketing. The social features integrated in this software really make using this software worth it. I like the speed and power overall. List uploads are a breeze, along with email templates (creating editable or HTML version). The dynamic content is great. I really like the Filters that can be built and run against other data sets. Segmentation is also key for campaign sends. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** Some of the integration & Program Builder area can be very confusing including the UI and the multiple browser windows that open when you are within the tool. **What problems is Oracle Eloqua solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have both B2B and B2C efforts. On the B2C side it is automating our customer lifecycle from first purchase to renewal and after (lapsed). We also automate trials to our software and execute other batch/one-time promotional sends. On the B2B side we have a customer lifecyclet track and various prospect email campaigns. Some are automated while others are batch/blast but use segments. We have seen great success on the B2C side although revenue reporting is not within Eloqua itself but can be referenced outside of the tool. ### 33. I love the flexibility and that it is extremely robust. The email editor is easy to use (although could include responsive design for folks who do not know HTML/CSS responsive email design). Segment building is VERY robust and flexible. The product is ideal for large scale organizations with many business units and marketing managers needing to use the program because there are customized security settings that allow for each user to have unique settings. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** There is a steep learning curve and some of the more advanced features are difficult to understand and take a long time to implement. (i.e. Custom Data Objects, Program Builder, APIs & Integrations, etc) Although they have been making incredible improvements to their UI in the past year. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** I recommend getting deep into the Topliners community and really getting to know some of the power users. In addition, the analytics have helped me determine when a particular set of users is more likely to look at an email. **What do you dislike about Oracle Eloqua?** I haven't seen consistency out of some of the ratings given to leads within our system. I believe certain rules might be set by my marketing department- I am seeing times when a user is more active in opening emails or doing certain high-value activity like registering for an account but it does not register as a high value lead. **Recommendations to others considering Oracle Eloqua:** Consider if your marketing team has the ability to monitor and set rules to work with the sales team. In our organization there is no time for training and Eloqua tends to be less intuitive tool than Salesforce, Workday and other tools that we use on a daily basis.
