I appreciate SAP Emarsys for its drag and drop, segmentation, and the ease it provides in setting up journeys and reporting. It makes the process of creating campaigns much more enjoyable and user-friendly, especially in comparison to Hybris Marketing. I find the multiple language options for emails, suggested workflows, and enhanced reporting capabilities particularly useful. The integration of AI in SAP Emarsys expands the options available, allowing me to run better campaigns based on user behavior. The ease of use and the simplicity of integrating SAP Emarsys with other tools are also significant advantages that contribute to its appeal.

I find the automation center in SAP Engagement Cloud to be a step above other similar software I've used. It's an excellent way to create unique journeys for customers based on criteria and goals. I appreciate how easy it is to set up custom solutions alongside several built-in automations, which supports our overall business strategy. Creating a multi-step campaign based on our determined logic has been beneficial for delivering targeted campaigns to our customer segments. The automations also effectively fill marketing gaps, such as our successful abandon cart email, which drives revenue and is fully supported by the automation center.

**What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?**

Our own setup is slightly out of the ordinary, but that is mostly due to our own internal issues, so with that in mind our own issues mostly revolve around personalised content. The value in personalised is huge but we have not been able to utilise it as much as we would like due to distrust in our own data. Outside of that we do not have any major complaints about the features of SAP Engagement Cloud.

I use SAP Engagement Cloud to enhance our email strategy by building bulk emails and automated campaigns for connecting with customers. I really like the automations of SAP Engagement Cloud, as they help save a lot of work and allow for precise segmentations. Additionally, I can send commercial actions to the client with valuable information for both the client and the company.

**What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?**

We need more reports with more features that help us better understand the users. For example, in the loyalty program, we would like to have more details about customer behavior without having to resort to segments. From my technical point of view, it would help me to have more training related to configurations with practical examples. At the end-user level (the business team), they inform me that the interface is not intuitive for them. We have needed the intervention of external consultants and a large amount of work hours, perhaps due to the complexity and interaction with the rest of the ecosystem and custom developments we made to ensure everything works as we want.

**What do you like best about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?**

I like most the automation part and the freedom it provides to the clients, allowing us to use it the way the company intends for the customer. The analytics part is pretty simple and easy to use and visualize. The automation combines trigger, segmentation, recurring, and real-time features with a lot of channels available for us, letting us easily use more than 20 types of automations in our CRM. The implementation and initial use of the tool were smooth, thanks to the help of NTT Data.

The main problem that doesn't work as well is that SAP Engagement Cloud is so online-focused. There are a lot of cool features that are only intended to work with online info, which limits a company that works both with online and physical sales. Features like price drop, predict recommendation, and product interest just work for online interactions, limiting the number of customers we could impact or the info we could use.

I find the intuitive UI of SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys) really appealing. Once everything is set up, designing email campaigns or full automations is as simple as dragging and dropping the desired blocks into place, and the same goes for the segmentation process. When I know what I want to do, the way to get there is usually pretty straightforward. Also, I appreciate that the global support reacts pretty fast, even if the issue at hand isn't that pressing.

The integration of stationary-sales data has been a pain-point for us. Other than that, we are currently still relying on third-party tools as a recommendation engine. If there is one thing I would like to see improvement on, it would certainly be the predict function. Since they are currently working on the feature, I have high hopes.

Also, during the setup, it's easy in general but depends on whether it's a sub-paper contract or a Marceus paper contract, which can lead to confusion about the steps needed.

I had a very grateful experience with SAP Engagement Cloud. I prefer this tool over others because it's simple to use, especially in marketing automation, and it allows me to create omnichannel journeys with ease. This includes sending push notifications, SMS, or email. The ability to create automation and review it all through analytics dashboards is very important to me, as it supports my work with other companies to create automation and email campaigns. The UI experience is also a plus, making it simple to achieve new leads and create business opportunities.

I think it would be useful if SAP Engagement Cloud could also provide integrated CRM capabilities that encompass both marketing and sales processes. We needed to create a map to understand what to do, which made the process complex.

I like that SAP Engagement Cloud is intuitive, easy to understand, and seems simple in a good way. It's not daunting to begin creating new emails, especially since my coworkers have set up a lot of the design and coding, making it pretty 'plug and play' for me. The initial setup was somewhat easy once I got my 'license' with the correct features.

It seems like the layout presented on the site isn't how it looks in real life (especially on a phone). I've just experienced it looking different on mobile, when sending a test mail, compared to what it was supposed to look like according to your 'show on mobile' function.

I like that SAP Engagement Cloud lets me use the data from our ecommerce system to not only segment our customer base but also contact them through many different channels. Since our company focuses solely on digital marketing, it's great to have all communication in one tool, including running Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Ads. I also appreciate how the setup with the built-in connector for sales data was pretty straightforward.

I think the campaign builder, the template builder, could be a little bit more user-friendly. More drag and drop.

I like that SAP Engagement Cloud is easily adaptable and can be integrated with third-party systems, like CDP, using public APIs that can be configured. It’s great that it supports an omnichannel experience with trigger-based events and offers excellent filtering options before sending emails to ensure opt-ins are checked. I find the in-built recommendations and algorithms very good, which is useful for marketing purposes. We can track data from commerce and use segmentation to target specific users effectively, and the system’s recommendations like recently purchased items, viewed products, and shopping cart info are easily plug-and-play for our email promotions.

**What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?**

Could be improvements like we had a separate marketing cloud where the segmentation was very good, but currently, we do not have that. It should have been better without whitelisting the domains for sending emails. Setup and initiating the engagement cloud is a bit of a tedious process. We have to raise a ticket and follow up, which has become challenging.

I found SAP Engagement Cloud very informative and practical, especially for real-time customer engagement use cases. The real-time journey execution and event-driven architectures have been clearly explained by Koon and the team, which provided a great experience. I appreciate how it eliminates the need for middleware, directly triggering emails based on customer interactions on the website. The event-triggered communication feature is particularly useful as it automatically sends out emails, SMS, or WhatsApp messages based on events like abandoned carts or product views. The interactive session added a lot of value, and I found the overall session relevant for teams working in real-time engagement scenarios with SAP Engagement Cloud.

**What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?**

The initial setup is really time-consuming because enabling the email, maintaining the tenant configuration, and validation requires creating a ticket to SAP. It takes about one or two days even with a medium priority. There's also a known issue called fail set mode that should be removed and given directly to the application owner instead of having to create a ticket with SAP. The 'wait for response' node is only available for event-based or event desk automation journeys. It should be available for all other journeys like product, tactics, and audience-based journeys. This would allow more flexibility in selecting customers instead of depending heavily on the event bus.

I really like predictive intelligence, automation topics, and advanced segmentations. The creation of personalized campaigns is another feature I value. These functions allow me to execute complex data strategies in minutes, something that would traditionally take days. I can create customer segments that, for example, buy AE jeans, what their size is, and who haven't visited us in 6 months. In summary, these features make the tool valuable because they turn data into revenue.

**What do you dislike about SAP Engagement Cloud (formerly SAP Emarsys)?**

Currently in my country, there is a law that does not allow people to be contacted twice through the same channel. Currently, other tools have this implemented automatically. In my case, with SAP Engagement Cloud, it has to be done very manually. It was very difficult; in Colombia, there are no people who implement this solution correctly. That's why this implementation was extremely difficult and costly.

I like that SAP Engagement Cloud offers a structured platform with a lot of possibilities, including multiple communication channels. It provides big opportunities for data analysis and is a very intuitive platform. The great support is another aspect I appreciate, and it allows us to only need one tool that offers it all, thus avoiding a long onboarding time since everyone can easily use it.

The process of creating email designs is a bit more complex and could be improved by making it easier to build blocks, perhaps with more templates from the community. The same goes for the forms, the webchannel, and the data dashboard. They are  outdated and it is not possible to design them individually without a big effort.

I think it's great that most components of the SAP Engagement Cloud are customizable and adaptable to our tech stack and the individual solutions of our architecture. The code of template blocks can be edited directly, and product feeds as well as product integrations can be expanded in self-service. This allows us to implement solutions customer-oriented while freely considering the technical requirements.

The adaptability and overall structure make the SAP Emarsys part not very user-friendly. The onboarding up to expert users takes a lot of time and requires training. More standard solutions without code/tech stack understanding should be offered.

Setting up SAP Emarsys has proven to be quite demanding, especially when it comes to integrating Emarsys with our existing SAP legacy platform and configuring several test accounts. Furthermore, the SDK we adopted was not technically mature, which made the process even more challenging. I feel that the SDK documentation could be more comprehensive, as it currently lacks sufficient detail. In addition, I think the technical support could be more responsive and helpful.

I really like SAP Emarsys' interface. The UI is very good, and it makes setting up SMS and email marketing campaigns much easier compared to other tools I've used. I trust the company because they have other tools that I like. Because of this trust, I'm willing to use SAP Emarsys.

I think sometimes it glitches, especially when we create campaigns in bulk. I also feel they could introduce more programs, like loyalty programs and better subscriptions. Some plans don't provide value for what we are paying, and others provide too much value, so they should look at the subscription tiers.
