What do you like best?

Demandbase's DSP + personalized advertising capabilities are what the platform is known for, but the tool does everything well. Off-site intent, onsite engagement, targeting and personalization (at scale) of ads, personalization of web pages / landing pages, ad performance reporting, website performance reporting, account performance (pipeline, close rates, book/won revenue), sales activation and more - it has it all and does an exceptional job across the board. Demandbase offers great documentation in their resource center with trainings, certifications, and pre-packaged playbooks allowing you to get proven ABM programs in-market quickly. We have also received phenomenal support from our Account Manager and CS team who are knowledgeable and fast to respond to any questions. Our Demandbase team will loop in solution engineers and technical product support teams to help us resolve integration issues. What do you dislike?

The UX in Demandbase Classic isn't terrible, but a little sub-par for a tool aimed at Marketers. That said, it looks like Demandbase One addresses this issue. The platform could improve the sync/integration with Salesforce. Most companies have poor CRM data hygiene (incomplete, duplicate, incorrect information), and Demandbase has struggled to sync data back to accounts in cases with duplicate accounts or accounts with inaccurate/incomplete information. Other platforms might do certain things better, but the Demandbase platform offers a complete ABM platform capable of doing everything required for a modern, best-in-class ABM program. The platform is robust enough to handle 1:1, 1:Few, or 1:Many programs. Scale is not an issue, and the platform can even be used by Demand Gen teams looking to be slightly more targeted in their efforts. What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Primarily, we needed to deliver our sellers with data and insights allowing them to better engage with their accounts. In addition, we were looking to personalize touchpoints along our customer journey. Finally, we also needed to be able to quickly and easily report on performance. Demandbase has helped us solve all these issues. The onsite (engagement) and offsite (intent) account data is collected by Demandbase, and the platform you are able to see aggregate and detailed information. We have been able to execute highly targeted and personalized advertising campaigns at scale. We can now quickly and easily deploy personalized pages - whether they are foundational pages or temporary landing pages. What do you like best?

Integration with Google Analytics lets me as a marketer see which industries visit what pages, and what specific companies visit targeted pages.

It really is a base for created a full account based marketing plan, aptly named. It's great for driving Demand. What do you like best?

Demandbase has grown into a true ABM platform, where we can manage almost all portions of our ABM program. The addition of site analytics has been very valuable, as we can analyze not only our ABM activity through Demandbase, but also the performance of all our other campaigns through the tracking of UTM parameters. The data Demandbase provides is clearly valued by my leadership team and C-suite alike. The Targeting solution has proven to be the most cost-effective digital advertising option available for providing the air-cover to match our other ABM initiatives. I appreciate that it lets us not waste advertising dollars on accounts we don't care about or who were never going to become clients in the first place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

While the entire platform has proven critical to my work as a marketer, my sales team has gotten less value out of it. We work in an industry where we know exactly the accounts we need to go after, so they don't use it from an account identification perspective. They appreciate the ability to see when an account has been on site, what they account has interacted with, and what campaigns they've engaged with. But like all sales people, they want to know who the person was doing the activity. We sell into massive enterprise accounts with tens of thousands of employees, but we only really care about 9-10 of those employees. What do you like best?

It's quick and easy to get a basic target list created. We have a large TAM and needed a starting point. The platform helped marketing give sales some evidence to validate the new target lists and helps sales continuously prioritize their accounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I believe that one should really avail of the training services so that you would have a full understanding of the use of the tool. The more in depth the training, the better. It is also best to work with your Media Agency if you have in getting the insights from the tool. On our end, we also use Adobe Analytics to determine the campaign performance on our landing pages. This way, we have a full picture of the client/ user journey and we can better make business/ advertising decisions based on the outcome of the customer journey. What do you like best?

Demandbase's ABM solution offerings are extensive and continuously being updated to stay competitive in the market. They are adding the ability to self-serve your own ad campaigns, which is a big improvement. The main platform for Audience identification is easy to use and gives a wealth of information. And the site analytics is very helpful for improving our strategy. I also like that we can add unlimited users to access the platform. My partners/consultants are always extremely helpful, offer learning sessions and resources, and work with me on strategy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

This is an expensive platform, especially for advertising compared to other platforms. There's currently no Microsoft CRM integration, which makes measurement more difficult for us. Also, when looking at the Account level details, the Example pages are often not in line with the keywords we are really interested in, which can be confusing to the sales people looking at their accounts, and makes me question the intent on some of them. That requires additional work on our profile, but it seems like it's a guess and test process at times (which can be time consuming). I need to learn a bit more about intent and how accurate the data is, but I've been hearing more and more good things about Bombora which Demandbase does not use. Be sure to have metrics/measurements in place when starting your ABM program. Without a CRM integration, this is more difficult but still necessary. We used PowerBI to create a dashboard to keep track of our top metrics. When implementing Demandbase, make sure to spend enough time to set up your profile; and be sure to do it with a cross-functional team. Then continually update and enhance your profile and lists for the best results (it's much easier to maintain after the initial implementation). Being able to not only understand account level interest/behavior but also uncover prospects that I don't know about. It's helpful for monitoring people over time. I appreciate the flexibility Engagio gives you in being able to slice & dice engagement data and generate reports to stay on top of things. What do you like best?

I really like that I can get real time alerts as to which prospects are on our website with the Slack plug in. I love to follow up quickly with targets on what they have just researched. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I would like if all of the features were on the main platform. I like the weekly summary digest because that's where I can check geography of interested prospects, but I only get that once a week. My weekly digest email with the most engaged accounts and people. Being able to see the effects of an ABM campaign or for that matter, any other activity is doing and immediately acting on them makes the prospecting a lot more effective. Also, the specific ABM campaign digest email are great. You get a lot of insights and who is exactly engaging with what type of content so. Understand the engagement levels is key to contacting prospect at the right time and with the right message. I have used several ABM Platforms and the things that I like the most about DemandBase are:

- Easy to use and simple to set-up

- Reporting functionality (allows you to show trend over time and compare different cohorts against each other) to see how your accounts are moving through the funnel.

What do you dislike?

- The ad serving platform is pretty manual. You can't run display ad campaigns yourself in the campaign, you have to provide them to the CSM team to set-up. You are also billed on an impression basis vs. CPC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
