What do you like best?

Managing the endpoints is easy with the help of Centralized management console. Unlike other similar protection, it does not require to install server application on the device. The portal is web based and is not machine independent. It can be accessed wherever you are. The best part, it does not leave any noticeable footprint on the device.

It does not slow down the system. The executable installation file is very small in size. It supports wide variety of clients including windows servers and MacOS. The installation is super easy and it just requires one click to fully install. Installation KEY code is integrated on the downloaded client installation file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

changes on the settings takes a while to be reflected on the clients. This is bit troublesome when you have to while list any genuine application (False positive alert) and run on the client machine. The admin portal is not user friendly and takes a while to figure out what you are looking for. Some of the centralized command doesn’t work and there is no confirmation if its successful or not. E.g remote shutdown. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I have used many antivirus protection software in past but this is of its own kind. Its my second renewal with webroot for 100 seats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The primary goal for having the subscription is to have my clients protected from virus and ransomware attacks. Since the installation, I have never faced any critical alerts. On top, managing the clients using agents command is very helpful. This also gives insight about the behaviours of the user. This has not just protected our devices but also have saved my time and effort a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Great detection and ransomware protection.

Lightweight and not a memory hog.

Preset policies help admin up and running.

Timely Alert and Notifications.

Cost-effective set of solutions under one umbrella.

2FA is also integrated for extra protection.

Great online community for finding quick answers

Security Awareness Training is another great offering by Webroot that I am currently using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Although a powerful product but the web user interface for the Endpoint Security Console admin portal could be a bit more mobile-friendly. Sometimes you're away so a mobile friendly interface really helps. Not a deal-breaker but more like a nice-to-have feature that could provide a more modern and trendy interface. Removal/uninstallation could be a bit easier as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's a great product and I would recommend signing up for a trial to see it for yourself. During Covid19, Webroot was very helpful in extending their trial period and they are very prompt to issue a trial so no time wasted there :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Excellent malware detection and remediation. Content Filtering. Centralized management is another peace of mind. Webroot Security Awareness and Training can also help detect Phishing emails more efficiently. The cost is another important factor in making a decision where Webroot is very competitive in pricing. What do you like best?

Moving away from them to a company that actually offers a product that works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Their Antivirus is awful and has resulted in Breaches/viruses/ransomware. When brought to their attention, they will quickly turn everything around on the Customer, will not help you, will refuse to work with you on contract terms. Worst interactions with their customer service or lack thereof. This business is lacking in ethics. There are FAR superior products on the market!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There are so many other options out there that are far superior. Their Antivirus is abysmal, will allow breaches and viruses through and end in ransomware. You couldn't pick a worse company to do business with. From start to finish, the moment you need assistance from customer service regarding billing, ticket entry, escalation to management, it is an absolute nightmare. They will do everything in their power to not help you. They lack business ethics, they do not care about you as a customer and will do everything that they can to not help in anyway. I would never recommend them. I have spoken to many people in the industry that have had the exact same experience and the general consensus in the IT sector is DO NOT USE WEBROOT. If they simply would have stepped up, jumped in to help, understood the issues, helped come to a resolution and in the end assisted with working with us on our contract, I would not have been happy with it but I would not be writing this review. I do not take this type of thing lightly, writing a terrible review that can potentially hurt a company is a last resort. However, when a product that is supposed to protect against viruses/breaches and we have a breach that cost us over $50,000 almost immediately piggybacking on a 2nd breach we had the month before because it just simply didn't do its job. Then when contacting them to be so completely blown off and refuse to help in reducing the contract as we have lost complete faith in their product speaks volumes on them as a Company.

To be clear, we are a reseller and have deployed this to many end users and are rapidly removing from Webroot to move to a reliable Antivirus as soon as we became aware of the holes in their system and the unreliable product. I estimated our year that we began with them. With the uptick that we are seeing from hackers, we quickly saw the issues with their product and their inability to perform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The only problems that we are solving is moving off of their system as fast as possible. We were a reseller of this product and are rapidly moving every user to a reliable Antivirus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Its ease of installation and low impact on system resources, unlike some competitors it doesn't bring the system to a crawl when it scans devices each day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

When it does goes wrong, which is not often mind, it can be hard to get the necessary details out of the program to adequately troubleshoot it (though webroot support themselves help compensate for this fault!) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure it integrates well with other products you are using, its value comes from that integration and its breadth of features therein Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

As an MSP Webroot has integrated into our service delivery perfectly, it allows us to have remote management of end user systems across several clients from a single place, it integrates well with Connectwise Automate allow us to push out installs of the software alongside other products at a push of a button.

Again benefited but how small the installation is and the low impact of resources this can happen without the user even being bothered by the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

The product is easy to maintain in a centralized web console. You can create policies that apply to groups of computers. It uses little resouces, and it is priced very competitively.

We do not need management servers, scan servers, load balancing servers - just the agent on the client, and the web console. That makes it very easy to maintain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes policies do not become applied correctly, this can then be resolved by copying the policy to a new one.

We have been working with Support to get this resolved and luckily is not happening very frequently. Now we have a workaround we can apply which is sufficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

On VDI systems, ensure that a unique MID is generated. This can be accomplished by installing the agent with the -uniquedevice command line parameter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Webroot is the agent on the endpoints that is an essential part of our security strategy. It keeps the desktops and servers safe, both in a physical and virtual environment. Using a centralized console, we can see the state of all agents at in a glance.

Before, we had a complex solution from another vendor that required a central server, scan servers and a load balancer server. This is not required with Webroot. Just an agent and you are good to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Webroot does not drain system resources like other protection suites I have used before. Somehow it still delivers better protection as well. It really is the whole package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

I genuinely cannot think of anything - i really can't. I actually just asked my colleague as well in case I was missing something obvious and he gave the same answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Performance issues are being saved left right and centre as well as the obvious point of preventing attacks and saving our clients from danger. I know ive gone on about it but one of the biggest pieces of negative feedback we have had with previous systems is that the drain from other products on their systems was just too much. Webroot fixes all of that and the feedback has been superb. Additionally the control that webroot gives our clients over HOW they protect and what from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Quick installation and central management. Extremely light on system resources and fast scanning in the background on PC's and servers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Support & Helpdesk are a bit lackluster. I use webroot AV for another company I support and through a collection of errors I cannot access the console directly of their setup. To date they have not fixed this (over 14 months now), and email sending facilities that frequently do not work for 2FA (for example, accessing this review portal). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We needed an easy to deploy scalable AV solution for work and I have used Webroot in the past without many issues. The only continuing issue I have noticed is on some older MAC's getting the product installed, but no issues otherwise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I absolutely love how I can use one installer file pushed out to multiple clients and it installs effortlessly in the background, activates the license and can be up and running in less than 3 minutes on a machine. It's web management abilities to make global or individual client changes and push them out from wherever I am is a great feature that saves me a lot of time. If I need to make changes and investigate in person, I can enter a master password at a client machine to make the changes locally as well. I create many spreadsheets and files that have macros that often get marked as malicious so being able to globally allow my specific file before sending it to employees is helpful and saves a lot of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The web interface leaves a bit to be desired. Once you are use to it it's easy enough to navigate but organizing groups and making specific changes require some trial and error unless you know what you're doing or have some guidance. Sometimes when navigating through all of our user machines to see who has software that is up to date or who still needs to have their machine thoroughly investigated for why it hasn't automatically updated to a current version the display option that is suppose to indicated when a machine was last seen does not accurately display that information. I have multiple computers right now on and in use but the "last seen" ranges from 8 hours ago to 1 minute ago and when polling to send commands is set globally to the same time daily, I feel the updates on the web console should be more accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Research the product and make sure it's one that will work well with your company and current setup. Figure out what types of files are common between employees and in and out of your network before implementing installs. One great thing is you can completely customize the global rules and policies before installing a single client so that everything is working and good to go before ever reaching a client computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Human error is one of the biggest cyber security risks to most businesses and as such people clicking on things they shouldn't be, downloading files and opening attachments etc will always be an issue. This has helped alleviate alot of that problem by detecting and scanning files as they are attempt to open stopping malicious files and macros from taking over a system. I find it hilarious how built in windows antivirus softwares never detect issues until webroot does. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Webroot is a low footprint antivirus program that is easy to install and easy to centrally manage. The console allows for easy grouping of systems, all with unique policies based on business need and scope. The antivirus checks definitions online and does not require a nightly download of definitions that can get out of sync on servers, leaving you exposed. If a virus is discovered the alerts are clear and it will automatically remediate the file. There are a number of other protections, such as host file locking and DNS protections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The policy hierarchy is a bit convoluted. There are global site policies and also individual policies. Sometimes new features can only be applied to global policies which is difficult if you only implemented local group policies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Webroot is a small footprint, easy to setup and maintain antivirus suite. You are able to create multiple profiles for different types of systems: laptops, desktops, servers, critical servers, etc. The definitions are checked in real time so there are no lengthy scans or heavy downloads for virus definitions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Centralized Antivirus for a multitude of networks. I am able to roll out AV and manage from a central location regardless of where the system lives or what network it's on. The antivirus checks definitions online and does not require a nightly download of definitions that can get out of sync on servers, leaving you exposed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Central management and low cost per user. I don't have time to administer every PC, especially physically being on location. Plus it does its job, preventing security problems. It is also has a very low resource profile. It does not interfere with daily work of the end user. They don't even know it's there, and does its job with minimal use of resources. Being a non-profit, we don't always have the newest and best hardware, and Webroot has not had any problems on any of the hardware we have in service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes have to intervene for end user updates. It's not often though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Use the trial to see if its a right fit for you. I'm sure you'll find out quickly that the price, central management, and security protections are a fit for anyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I'm a one person show, so I need end point protection without a lot of hassle in installation and maintenance. I get central management from anywhere and know that it will do its job without constant monitoring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Endpoint management is made easy through groups in the panel. The endpoint client allows for a great deal of flexibility in configuring the agent to your liking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Oftentimes an agent will disappear and not be able to communicate to the WR management server. Despite this, protection continues on the endpoint, however. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Sign up for a trial and see how straight-forward and effortless using Webroot's BEP really is. We previously used Bitdefender and Avast's endpoint protection offerings, but neither worked as well as Webroot has for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The web-based management portal is much more flexible than other solutions we've tested, so endpoint security requires very little effort on our end, freeing us up for work on other projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I've used Webroot Endpoint for 2 years now and I find the process to be very streamlined. The admin dashboard allows you to set 2FA using Google Authenticator which is much easier than the password character method. The endpoint installation process is simple, allowing me to deploy it rapidly to multiple machines, and the client is small, allowing me to conserve resources on aging workstations. It's also not easily tinkered with by end-users unless you specifically enable the unmanaged policy which is not a default. I've only had one false positive which was dealt with easily enough, so overall it's been a good experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Personally I don't like not being able to remove endpoints from my dashboard, such as when I decommission a machine and remove it from my network. The endpoint console lets you "deactivate" the machine and puts it into a deactivated security group, but I don't like seeing all those machines still show in my account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It pretty much allows me to install and leave it alone. I check my admin dashboard periodically but I haven't needed to take direct action on an endpoint more than once or twice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It is very light on resource usage and does not cause laptops to slow down.

It's licensing is also very affordable and flexible. No issues if we temporarily exceed the license count when setting up replacement laptops. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Not much to complain about.

Generally did not fare too well in terms of detection effectiveness in some online benchmarks, but it isn't a big issue if there are other security products installed as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We were looking at cloud-based anti-virus solutions as users were mostly working outside of office.

Back then Webroot most of the bigger vendors required a self hosted server which wasn't feasible for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
