Some of my projects are quite small and only take either a small part of my day or don't take very long. The schedule view (which I use most) is not very ideal for moving around all those 1-2hr tasks. Luckily this is not a problem for the bigger projects. Besides that I think it is not very realistic to plan for an 8hr workday; this is often not the reality (with e.g. breaks etc.). This has the effect that there is a mismatch between the allocated budget and the actual time that has been spent on the project (compared to the time tracking software we use). Float is very useful for resource allocation management as it allows for an awesome timeline views with all the resources listed. Float also allows for pretty good filtering and different ways to view your data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
