"Great software"
What do you like best about Float.com?

I like the option to set any colour you like for different projects and make the schedule look any way you want; setting tasks to repeat weekly / on certain days and then being able to update them all at once - a very time-saving feature! I also like that you can drag and drop tasks or drag to change time - simple yet super useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

Not being able to split tasks if they repeat weekly; a very confusing hours/day field that sometimes leaves you having a task happening for a year (still didn't quite figure it out but it's a minor issue). If you chance Billable / not-billable tasks, the hours update only after you log out and back in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thanks for your review, Weronika! Great that you're saving time assigning and updating tasks!

When it comes to splitting tasks, you should be able to do this via the right-click menu; select Split then click on the task you want to split: https://support.float.com/en/articles/28947-right-click-menu-and-keyboard-shortcuts I hope this helps!

"Does its' work and isn't infested with "features" which bloat it or bog it down"
What do you like best about Float.com?

It's quite easy to use. The user interface is intuitive. It's not bogged down by "featurettes" that bloat it, nor does it blast you constantly with pointless notifications. I think this is a direction that apps need to go into. Being less intrusive and not trying to be a one-stop shop for everything or trying to incorporate social media into the mix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

Sometimes the app freezes or has issues when starting. But with a couple of refreshes, it goes back to normal. Unfortunately, I've found myself doing this a few times though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thanks for your review, Andy! We're focused on being the best resource planning tool, and nothing else. We're glad you noticed!

If you need extras, we have a number of integrations: https://www.float.com/integrations/

"Useful tool for project management and time tracking"
What do you like best about Float.com?

Float is very easy to use, incredibly well organised and allows for really effective management of time across creative, editorial and client services teams. Many people can use it at the same time, and it updates real-time which is fantastic for managing tons of updates all happening throughout the day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

There should be a few more colours or ways to differentiate my projects from someone elses. It sometimes gets difficult to find which projects are mine, and which are others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thanks for your review, Jessica!

"Float is an awesome platform to manage your official work."
What do you like best about Float.com?

What I like most about the Float is to get a high level of view of all your project and also it can set budgets and target the milstones and reallocate resources before it's too late. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

Float is one platform where you can add your projects in just a second where you can plan your projects based upon your team's real capacity as well you can set project budgets using total hours or fees and accurately forecast the resources you will need so don't think that there is something which I dislike, everything is amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thank you for your review! We love that Float is helping you plan projects and schedule your team based on their real capacity.

"Float makes Time management easy"
What do you like best about Float.com?

A perfect mix of Team, Project, and Individual view of time management enables deep analysis. This helps me get a view on utilisation for professional services which is critical to understanding revenue and profitability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

Occasionally it does take a while to populate the records for the staff that I manage... but then again its a big complement of people. After a while the browser will show all the relevant data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Great to hear Float provides a shortcut to understanding utilization and capacity! Thanks for your review, Alistair!

"It's a good solution to monitor a project's resources on how they allocate their time to diff. tasks"
What do you like best about Float.com?

It is a good solution to monitor a project's resources and how they allocate their time to different tasks. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

It does not allow you to easily move a bunch of small tasks along in the timeline. Also, when trying to put half-day tasks, it's not so user-friendly because sometimes the cursor from neutral turns into cursor of completion or deletion without warning. Another point would be when you try to log in your time off - it took a while to discover how to do this without deleting the previous log-in recordings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thanks for your review, Cristina!

"Great project assignment planning tool - simple and intuitive to use - rich with API integrations"
What do you like best about Float.com?

The main screen is dedicated to delivering the most important information. The filtering, sorting and view modes are natural and easy to use. We leverage external integrations with our HR systems to synchronize time off and availability, ensuring the Float information is always up to date. Both the Schedule and Project Plan view allow easy focus on possible issues and opportunities. The customization tagging combined with rich filtering really makes it accessible to all our team. Reporting is also nice with very flexible timeline options (I especially like the per month/per week/per day option in the bar chart capacity reports). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

Truly, it is a great platform, nothing major is an issue. Some interesting enhancements could be adding the possibility to easily simulate scenarios when planning for long-term projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Platform offers great overview for planning and time tracking, not really suited for project manage."
What do you like best about Float.com?

The main interface is clear and offers a great overview. Planning time on projects and tasks is intuitive and easy. Tracking your time along those tasks also works great. We were looking for a tool that did some high level planning and tracking, not track-per-minute. Float has been great to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

Project planning is a bit harder in float. Planning different phases offer less overview. We also really love the time tracking tool, but it is not available separately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thanks for your review, Martijn!

"Scheduling tool for teams"
What do you like best about Float.com?

The best thing about Float is the overview of the projects and of the work the team is currently executing, it allows you to keep control and follow each one of your tasks. It gives you the freedom to manage your time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I don't like that each task has to belong to a project because it limits the possibility of tracking day-to-day tasks like answering emails, doing check-ups on the team or talking with other team members. It empowers the productivity culture. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thanks for your review, María!

"Float Review"
What do you like best about Float.com?

Working with float in conjunction with my managers has made keeping track of my projects and my time sheets so easy. It really has been a huge help. Instead of going through emails or memos I can login to Float and see my entire work history for the month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Float.com?

I haven't had anything to dislike. It really has made one part of my job that I dislike much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Jess Thompson of Float.com

Thanks for your review, Kevin! We love hearing that Float makes your job easier by taking the hassle out of timesheets.
