Reporting Software

Typically, Reporting is a capability of a variety of other G2 Software categories. See more below to select the

best Reporting Software.

Reporting software can refer to anything from business intelligence to performance analytics. The most direct software products containing reporting features are business intelligence platforms. These tools provide a mechanism for businesses professionals to analyze company data and reveal patterns and insights. These tools can analyze data pertaining to anything from sales figures to application performance. These, along with self-service business intelligence software, can provide insights and monitor key product indicators. Many can also produce visual representations of data to be used in presentations. While the platforms are often used by data-scientists and other specialists, self-service tools are designed for use by average business professionals. Other software types containing reporting tools are accounting and time tracking tools. Accounting tools are geared more towards financial and budgeting insights and time tracking tools relate to employee productivity and performance.

“Tableau Makes Real-Time Dashboards Easy With Powerful Analysis Flexibility”
What do you like best about Tableau?

Recently, I learned about Tableau and its features. Before, writing SQL queries took an extensive amount of time. Now, with a live connection to Salesforce and Excel, it’s much easier to build dashboards that update with real-time data.

Tableau’s calculated fields and level of detail features provide a lot of flexibility for analysis, and they also reduce the need to rely on pre-processed data from external sources.

For this organization, Tableau is helping make the platform more data-driven, especially for Excel data. Their decision and ROI feel clear because it enables broad insights and helps Tableau deliver consistently across the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Tableau?

Tableau’s UI/UX can feel overwhelming for a new user, mainly because there are so many options and configuration settings to navigate. The onboarding support within the platform also sometimes feels limited, which can make the initial learning curve steeper than it needs to be.

Overall performance is strong for the basic features, but it can degrade when using live connections to slower databases.

Ask Data–type features seem intelligently designed in theory, but in practice they feel somewhat lacking and immature. It often misinterprets natural-language queries, which ends up making the work more complicated than necessary.

Customer support is underwhelming as well, with slow ticket resolution times. It also leans heavily on community forums and predefined solutions, which can feel insufficient when you’re stuck in a specific situation that doesn’t fit the standard answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Tableau solving and how is that benefiting you?

It solves the fundamental problem of having data that is only viewed in spreadsheets, while the underlying databases are typically accessed and interpreted only by technical users. Tableau generates reports from this spreadsheet, and we can update them each round after verifying that the spreadsheet contains the latest data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Power BI Turns Messy Data into Clear, Fast, User-Friendly Insights”
What do you like best about Microsoft Power BI?

Power BI has a lot of features. I don't know where to start, but if I had to pick the "best" thing, it would be how it converts raw, complex, messy data into something that is easy to read and understand. And it does it rather quickly. Power BI is also very user friendly and easy to maneuver. Other apps and programs can sync and connect with no issue and without having to do too much. I also love how it refreshes automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Power BI?

It's a great program, but it's not perfect by a long shot. It can be complex when you start working with formulas. It lags at time when the datasets are a bit larger. Lastly, power queries can be confusing and hard to interpret and understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Power BI solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me pull everything, from Excel files, SharePoint, and emails, together in one place. It saves me a lot of time, and helps me with collaboration since everyone can see the same report at the same time, and it's updated in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about monday Work Management?

Monday.com provides visual dashboards that provide a clear overview of tasks, deadlines, and progress, ensuring everyone stays aligned. I can easily check on progress on a project without having to wait for an update from the Project Manager. I can quickly view our accounts payable, pull up invoices and problem solve with our customers, again without having to wait for input from acccounting. Monday.com tools make project management and working between sales and operations a more efficient and smoother process. I use Monday.com every day Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about monday Work Management?

I do not have any real dislikes about Monday.com. Perhaps the only downside is there is a bit of a learning curve to set up project workflows. It is not 100% intuitive but to be fair the learning curve on other platforms is equal or a higher bar. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is monday Work Management solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are a global company working across many time frames, Monday.com helps us communicate about projects, workflows and our accounts receivable system. It allows me to quickly see project updates, status and timeframes. I can easily communicate with our operations team about incoming projects - giving them visibily to the sales pipeline. “Effortless Accounting, Minor Payroll Hiccups”
What do you like best about Xero?

I find Xero easy to use and customizable, making it a one-stop shop for my needs. I appreciate that it keeps everything in one place, serving as a single source of truth that captures income and expenditure correctly. It's capable of producing essential reports and handling returns like BAS, Tax, EOFY along with various health reports for multiple companies and currencies. I love that it captures data in real time and allows multiple users to access it from anywhere in the world. The payroll features are quick and easy to use, it links to the ATO and Super payments, and is compliant and secure. I enjoy how Xero integrates well with other systems and can export and manipulate data effectively. It's a great accounting and payroll package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xero?

There are a few clunky bits, especially with payroll and how it calculates wages, plus some reports/analysis we used to have in EH we don't have in Xero. Also, it's data/transaction limited and we reached the quota, so to speak, and the whole system slowed down. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Xero solving and how is that benefiting you?

Xero keeps everything in one place, serving as a single source of truth for income, expenditure, and reporting. It's quick and secure, allowing multiple users access anywhere globally. “Keeps Clinic Work and Team Coordination Perfectly Organized”
What do you like best about Connecteam?

I work as a Dietician & Nutritionist and also manage a small homeopathy clinic. What I like most about Connecteam is that it keeps both patient-related work and team coordination in one place. I can clearly see which tasks are open and which are completed, so nothing gets missed. I use it to track diet planning work, review pending cases, and manage follow-ups. At the same time, I can assign work to staff members and see who is handling what. This makes managing a small team much less stressful during busy clinic hours.

I also like that scheduling, time tracking, and communication are available inside the same system. It helps me manage staff timing, check availability, and keep updates in one place instead of calling or messaging everyone separately.

It was easy to start using and did not require complicated setup. I use it regularly, and it fits well into my daily clinic workflow without making things complicated.

Overall, it helps me stay organized and manage both patient work and team work more smoothly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Connecteam?

When I open a task to update it, it takes a moment longer to load before I can type anything. One thing I have noticed is that sometimes notifications come in groups instead of one by one. If multiple tasks are updated close to each other, the alerts show together, and it is easy to miss a small detail unless I open the app and check properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Connecteam solving and how is that benefiting you?

In my daily clinic work, there are many small things happening together like patient follow-ups, diet plan work, and staff coordination. It is easy for small tasks to get delayed when the day gets busy. Sometimes I had to check different places just to see what was pending.

With Connecteam, I can see all tasks in one place and know what still needs attention. I can also see which staff member is handling which work. This reduces confusion and saves time during busy hours. It has made daily work more clear and manageable for me. I don’t have to depend only on memory or scattered messages anymore. “Empowers Remote Team Management with Ease”
What do you like best about Hubstaff?

I use Hubstaff in HR to add schedules for employees, track time, and take screenshots while working remotely. The time tracking feature is the best, as it helps me know who is active and how much activity each person is doing in a particular hour. It also detects any suspicious behavior if someone tries to cheat the system. Setting up schedules is easy, and this helps track employee payments. Initial setup of Hubstaff is easy too. I chose Hubstaff because it was the best option we found. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hubstaff?

In finance settings, it's a bit cumbersome because first, I have to add a person to finance and then go back again to search for them and enable their payment cycle. It would be better if this process could happen in one go to avoid double efforts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hubstaff solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Hubstaff to easily set employee schedules, track work hours, and take screenshots. It helps understand remote work culture and ensures accurate payment tracking. I like the time tracking for active status and detecting any system cheating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“Kyvos Makes Asking and Following Up on Data Questions Effortless”
What do you like best about Kyvos Semantic Layer?

The way that Kyvos allows our teams to interact with data is incredible in how simple it is to just ask a question in plain and simple terms, without having to create a lot of detailed reports. The ability to ask follow-up questions while still in the same discussion without having to re-create the earlier context is huge and helps us hurry up how long we would spend creating these types of conversations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kyvos Semantic Layer?

I think it would be beneficial for more very specific examples of conversational analytics scenarios done as demonstrations to be available to view. Other than that, the process of using Kyvos has been very smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Kyvos Semantic Layer solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have a lot of very large and complex data sets to look at, and typical BI tools limit our ability to look into the data quickly. We needed a solution to look for insight through conversational analytics that was scalable and that had a good relationship with our business context. Kyvos was by far the best option available after looking through the other choices made available to us. The results have been that our teams have been able to get much quicker insight with greater accuracy through asking questions in the way we would normally ask other people. “Versatile Command Centre for Work and Life”
What do you like best about ClickUp?

It is a really versatile product. I started with the free version for personal use, to capture my work experience and use cases. I have incrementally upgraded to business over the past few months and I now use it as my complete command centre - for work use cases to enable me to do my job better, and for a host of personal ones. It has become my go-to for everything, and I come up with new use cases all the time. I am now able to take support ticket information from Google sheets (which is exported from another tool as an email attachment), send it to ClickUp to create as tasks, linked to custom fields, and I can now create dashboards to monitor key metrics. I am able to ingest data via the API functionality to pull key project information from another PPM tool to bring everything together to have an overall view even though our company does not use ClickUp. It gives me a centralised environment to manage my work and personal life without using multiple tools in most cases. I love the fact that I can use custom fields, etc to manipulate it from being just a traditional task management tool, to use for just about anything. It's costing my a fair amount to use all this functionality in my personal capacity, but for the amount of value and organisation I get, it's worth it for me at the current price. Next step is seeing if the full AI bundle is worth it for me - I already have multiple use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ClickUp?

I wish I could personalise it more visually and really make it my own. I also wish the mobile user interface was better for dashboards. The layouts I create on the web or windows versions don't translate well at all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part of HROne is that it’s less costly and still provides all the features that other tools charge more for. This tool helps keep my organisation’s HR processes smooth. “Powerful Yet Pricey ERP with Integration Challenges”
What do you like best about NetSuite?

I like that NetSuite tracks all of our transactions and products sold. I've learned to create scripts that allow me to get dashboards and data out of NetSuite. Using cloud features has been the most helpful because it lets me see under the hood. Once we went live and started working with ACS, the internal NetSuite consulting team, our experience improved significantly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about NetSuite?

As a startup, if you add multiple modules that you do not end up using in the future, there's no way to remove them. If you remove them, you cannot lower the contract value. So I would start with what you actually need and then add on as you go. Don't buy into the bundle because if you don't need something in the future, you will be stuck with it forever, and the value of the contract will never go down. The initial setup was very difficult. We hired a consulting firm to do it for us, and they were terrible, which made the experience unpleasant. We paid for a whole year before we even went live. It's a very expensive product to go an entire year without using it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

“An accounting tool that covers all of your clients' needs”
What do you like best about QuickBooks Online?

It’s easy to use, and uploading documents is fast. I also like the integration with other products, and the pricing feels fair. The technical support is great, and I’m able to stay in contact with other users who can share tips. The AI summary feature is helpful as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

At first, it seemed like a cumbersome product. However, after trial and error and assistance, it was easier to use. Some of the summaries I tried to pull were troublesome. It likes to automatically categorize charges, and it can add more time when reconciling the books. Like a cash app transfer is considered an ATM withdrawal or a wire transfer listed as a DRAW. So we are working through the mislabeling of the transactions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is QuickBooks Online solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use it for daily reconciliation of transactions. It gives me a clear summary of invoices submitted, payments issued, and it also helps me spot transaction patterns. “Acumatica Delivers Flexibility and Scalability for Global Growth”
What do you like best about Acumatica?

I love that Acumatica is truly cloud-based, making accessibility seamless for our global teams. The generic inquiry (GI) feature is a game changer, allowing even non-technical users like me to build custom reports and dashboards easily. Its intuitive web interface makes onboarding new employees quick, and the scalability means we can grow without being handcuffed by the ERP system. The consumption-based pricing structure is also a huge plus, and the reliability has been outstanding compared to previous systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

Honestly, there isn’t much to dislike, but the process of migrating from our old system was complex, especially consolidating customers from multiple databases. Integrating new acquisitions and handling multi-currency, multi-tenant setups required extra effort and some creative workarounds, but Acumatica’s flexibility helped us address these challenges. I’d also say that while AI features are promising, we’re still exploring their full potential. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Acumatica solving and how is that benefiting you?

Scalability and flexibility are the biggest strengths for us. Because of features like attributes, we’ve been able to design the underlying data structure so it can live in both big and small buckets, depending on what we need. That makes it easy to add something like a brand attribute for a new product, and then have the data automatically flow throughout the data ecosystem we’ve created. What do you like best about ClickTime?

What do you dislike about ClickTime?

Sometimes the interface feels a bit slow, especially when switching between weeks or projects. A few actions take more clicks than expected, and the UI can feel outdated at times. Mobile app functionality is also limited compared to the web version.

What are the downsides of using ClickTime?

What I like best about SAS Viya is its powerful combination of advanced analytics and user-friendly interface. It allows both technical and non-technical users to work efficiently with data through its intuitive, cloud-based platform. The ability to handle large datasets quickly, along with built-in machine learning and AI capabilities, has significantly improved our decision-making process. I also appreciate the seamless integration with other tools and the flexibility it offers for customizing workflows. Overall, SAS Viya has made complex data analysis faster, more accessible, and more collaborative across teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SAS Viya?

One downside of SAS Viya is that it can have a steep learning curve for new users, especially those without a strong analytics background. I also like the onboarding and support teams—they're always ready to help, especially for API-specific challenges. Onboarding helps me learn the platform quickly, and the support team is prompt in problem-solving any issues, which means I can unblock my progress within a day. Once the API setup and dashboard is running, it doesn't take much maintenance, and it's easy to share. Plus, embedding into Notion automates a ton of reporting, which is a game changer. What do you dislike about Knowi?

I think there could be more guidance for different types of API connections for popular platforms like Shopify, Google Analytics, and Tableau. It can take time to get everything set up correctly the first time with Knowi's platform and API documentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Knowi to dashboard ecommerce performance, eliminating the need for manual CSVs and handling data beyond Google Sheets limits. “Amazing AI and SQL Autocomplete That Speeds Up My Work”
What do you like best about Hex?

Recent AI capabilities are amazing, and I’ve been using them a lot. When I’m writing SQL queries, I especially like the autocomplete features—they make my work faster and help me write more accurately. I also like the data schema explorer when I need to find specific tables, and it’s helpful for quickly exploring their contents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Hex?

Notebooks can quickly get messy once you start creating a lot of cells in the same notebook, and it’s easy to lose your place while scrolling to find the cell you’re looking for. I’m not fully convinced by this Notebook and App partitioning, because it feels clunky and confusing in practice. For example, when you’re working with tabs, it’s hard to tell in the Notebook which cells are associated with which tabs. I also found it strange that the order of cells shown in the App is different from the order in which they appear in the Notebook. Finally, I’d like you to offer a native way to push data to a Google Spreadsheet, since that currently isn’t possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Hex solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me quickly solve the data-related questions I run into every day as a Product Manager. I use it to track the performance of my funnels and features, which makes it easier to stay on top of what’s working and what needs attention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
