Before monday, we were using spreadsheets to keep track of jobs, and it eventually became a bit of a mess. It's so fast and streamlined, loading times are short, you can easily dig into the accounts and adjust your view to show exactly what you need (or what you didn't know you needed until you found the option to view it!). What do you dislike about Xero?

If you forget to open a link in a new tab, you'll probably go down a rabbit hole and lose whatever view you were working from and then have to track your way back to it, which is sometimes annoying. Date selection for some reports is a bit clunky (better than it used to be, but still, the drop downs are finicky sometimes). What do you like best about Sage Intacct?

I like how easy it is to maneuver through the application. The product is intuitive and simple for managers and leaders to drill into the application to find their own answers. The application has allowed us to be almost entirely paperless and simplifies closing the books on a monthly basis. In addition by granting our auditors read only access to the application our audit has become more efficient and less burdensome for staff as auditors can drill and pull supporting documents themselves cutting down on requests for additional supporting documents. What do you dislike about Sage Intacct?

Custom report writing is a bit cumbersome and takes some learning especially when it comes to understanding reporting groups. When adding new accounts the user needs to be aware that the new account may not be properly mapped to one of the groups and could therefore put reports out of balance. What problems is Sage Intacct solving and how is that benefiting you?

Allows front line staff to enter purchasing requests that are approved by management cutting down on mistakes and automating the workflow for purchasing. Sage also allows for importing of transactions and transaction activity from the CMS and POS systems which allows for daily and monthly revenue balancing with our core systems thereby cutting down on data entry labor and data entry errors. The internal communication system allows for audit trails and notes to be attached to transactions creating a single source for information related to the financial statements. What do you like best about UKG Ready?

Our team is able to customize the different platforms to fit our company's needs. And the reporting is top notch. Our fiscal year begins on July 1st. In the past, we've always had to run 2 YTD reports and do a cut and paste job to come up with fiscal year data. I love being able to give the Accounting auditor and the 401k auditor login access each year - so that they can pull the data that they need directly from the system. And once the audit is completed, I can deactivate their access. I love that individuals who leave the organization can still have limited access to the system. They can still see their W2s, pay statements and other tax forms. That eliminates those phone calls and emails each January from individuals who no longer work with the organization. The Time & Attendance platform allowed us to finally get our PTO / Accrual process automated. We have also been able to implement a grant allocation process on the T&A platform as well. Two things that we've had to do manually in other systems. And we were finally able to get rid of a 15 tab Excel document by automating our payroll journal entry. That is something I would list 5 times on repeat. Every system we used in the past always promised that they could integrate with NetSuite (our company's Accounting software). UKG not only promised but they delivered. For once our Accounting Department has been happy with HRs selection of a HRIS. We also had a great implementation team. Love the Open Enrollment platform and the Applicant Tracking platform. We added the Learning module to our platform last month. We are currently reviewing Bryte and Document Manager. What do you dislike about UKG Ready?

Area of improvement: The EverythingBenefits area should really be evaluated. The EDI connection process could be easier. The Performance Review platform could be more intuitive. The workflow process required for this process is unreal. Not sure why the development team is not able to add commas to the dollar amounts on the Applicant Tracking platform. I really like that NetSuite is very easy to customize. You can hire a consultant to customize the system or write a script, and the system can be expanded or tailored based on different business needs, making it almost like a bespoke system for any business. It's also very easy to use and understand. Being a 100% cloud-based system is a great benefit, especially since we have people working across the globe and it allows us to see data in real-time without waiting for transactions to process. Sometimes, if there's a feature that doesn't work with NetSuite, it can take ages for them to address it with an enhancement because not a lot of customers may want it. The richness of the product requires more serious support from Acumatica that we seem to have difficulty accessing, at times. I had a particular experience where I entered the wrong information and it took a little while to figure out how to delete that particular line of information. Once I figured out the format it was easy but initially, I was stumped. Maybe if a user were able to enter notes in the same space as they're entering times, it would make things easier because the user wouldn't have to click on an entirely separate tab in order to enter notes. What do you dislike about QuickBooks Online?

QuickBooks Online has deliberately removed the ability to print IRS-compliant 1099 forms with boxes, a feature that existed for years and is still required for many established workflows.

There is no technical limitation here — the data exists, but the form layout is intentionally suppressed to push users into paid e-filing. This forces businesses and accounting firms to either pay extra, manually re-enter data into IRS PDFs, or use third-party services.

This is a clear regression, not an improvement. It increases cost, wastes time, introduces error risk, and creates unnecessary compliance confusion. Removing core functionality to coerce add-on purchases undermines trust in the platform.

Keka is a very user-friendly and easy-to-understand HR and payroll software. The interface is clean and intuitive, so even new users can get comfortable with it quickly. One of the best things about Keka is how smoothly payroll can be processed — the entire payroll run can be completed in just 6 simple steps, which saves a lot of time and manual effort.

The software handles payroll efficiently with minimal errors and makes overall HR processes much easier to manage. Everything is well structured, which helps in completing tasks faster and with better accuracy.

Rillet gives us a structured way to manage multi-year contracts, minimum usage commitments, and revenue recognition. It has strong flexibility for mixing subscription and usage-based products, which is important for us. The ability to integrate with Stripe for payments and with Avalara for tax compliance makes our processes more seamless.
