**What do you like best about Knowi?**

I use Knowi to dashboard ecommerce performance, and it's great because I no longer need to manage manual CSVs across multiple platforms. The dashboarding features are intuitive, making my data easy to consume, saving me a ton of time. I also like the onboarding and support teams—they're always ready to help, especially for API-specific challenges. Onboarding helps me learn the platform quickly, and the support team is prompt in problem-solving any issues, which means I can unblock my progress within a day. Once the API setup and dashboard is running, it doesn't take much maintenance, and it's easy to share. Plus, embedding into Notion automates a ton of reporting, which is a game changer.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

I think there could be more guidance for different types of API connections for popular platforms like Shopify, Google Analytics, and Tableau. It can take time to get everything set up correctly the first time with Knowi's platform and API documentation.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

As the Director of Business Automation overseeing our data warehouse and reporting, finding a tool that seamlessly connects to our data sources and enables us to embed dashboards for clients while handling complex report types affordably was crucial. After evaluating numerous options, Knowi emerged as the perfect fit.

Knowi not only met but exceeded our expectations. The team is responsive and proactive; they promptly implemented the features we requested. CEO Jay personally ensured that Knowi aligned with our business needs, offering ample trial time for us to thoroughly test the tool before committing. While Knowi has been a great fit overall, one area with room for improvement is the learning curve for some of the more advanced features. For new users, it can take a little time to fully understand the best way to structure queries or leverage all the platform’s capabilities, especially when dealing with complex data sets. However, their documentation and support team are very helpful, and once you're up to speed, the flexibility is worth it.

Knowi solved a major challenge for us in delivering reports to our clients. Instead of manually emailing reports, we can now embed interactive dashboards directly into our platform, giving clients real-time access to their data. Additionally, Knowi supports most of the data source connections we need out of the box, which saves us from having to build and maintain complex API integrations. This has significantly streamlined our reporting process and improved the overall client experience.

This product has given me the ability to create reports across multiple platforms containing our data.  The product is intuitive but for more complex activities I have needed guidance from support.  I have found the support team to be superb, responsive and willing to walk me through any questions as well as help me find solutions for complex queries.

There is documentation available but it's not always thorough.  The good news is that support will fill in any gaps as they continue to increase the amount of documentation available.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Bunch of new features every week/2 week. They are very committed to listening to the customer and implementing recommended changes. You can use it as a reporting tool and as an ETL tool. The 9QL language provides a new way to handle nested data or transform data pretty simply.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

Rarely the interface does not work properly i.e., if you try to save a widget, you can't; if you save a widget and re-open it, you do not see your previous changes; if your try to open a widget it takes to much time

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to get data from heterogeneous sources and join them. How to predict business use cases. How to visualize data and metrics and the level of customization. How to get alerts and notifications. The main benefit is to get a self-service tool with a well-defined data sets.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

It's very intuitive for users with not so much of a technical knowledge. The customer support is great and helpful also, they are open to suggestions and requests for new features.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

Sometimes the auto share doesn't work well, therefore the user has to logout/login to be able to view an asset. 
It doesn't work that well with multiple tabs opened; it doesn't matter if you're viewing a dashboard in one and working on a widget on another tab.

There are some UI bugs, and sometimes the specific use case we need isn't covered. There are workarounds, however.

One of our A.I. startup's biggest problems is that we move EXTREMELY quickly. Every day we are heading in a different direction or exploring a new idea. As a result, we are snowballing and exploring new avenues every day. Knowi is the ultimate solution if you are a company in this same boat - it's equal parts powerful & flexible. It makes quick, pivoting decisions so simple. I can't recommend it enough for any startup.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Our behavioral health organization has siloed data in over six different systems. There was NO easy way to make sense of our data without my team engaging in a TON of manual labor (insert sighs from my staff as they spent hours hunched over their computer screens trying to export CSV files and make pivot tables). 

And then we discovered Knowi, and everything changed.

Knowi provides us with a unified view of ALL our siloed data. We have leadership and departmental dashboards automatically delivered to our team so they can manage their key metrics efficiently and transparently (no more CSV exports and pivot tables). Most importantly, using Knowi has given back precious time to our team that they can use to focus on supporting our staff and patients.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

There's nothing to dislike about Knowi. My team can easily access any data they need or create automatic alerts to ensure we don't miss crucial information (like weekly contract utilization or staff productivity by department).

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have patient and staff data stored in multiple siloed systems. We use Knowi's virtual data sets to create dashboards that combine ALL of our relevant patient or staff data to allow us to make informed decisions without worrying that we're missing something. Automatically delivering key metric dashboards to our department leaders has helped them focus on taking action or providing support for their staff. With Knowi, we've been able to move from being a reactive organization to a proactive organization.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Knowi has a top-notch data engineering layer that eliminates the need for ETL and ETL resources. It allows you to connect to any data source, regardless of technology, and then simply start querying and joining across these disparate sources. Couple this with it's NLP abilities and it's really quite amazing.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

Knowi has so many features that it can take a little while to fully grasp everything it has to offer. The UI is not as slick as some other solutions, but the focus is more on allowing you to quickly tap into your data than spend time on superficial elements.

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem it solves is being able to grab data from anywhere and then join it all together to form nice, clean datasets from which your users can then go and fish. The hardest job is always accessing and cleaning up data. Knowi makes this easy. Once that is done, then users can create their own assets without the need for a huge data department.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Knowi is a good tool to glue together different data sources and be able to query them in a more intuitive way.

I'd recommend them slightly earlier than scaling stage where you plan on having much more data to analyze over the course of the following months.

Their mongodb integration is powerful and I like the fact that they normalize querying across different data sources.

It does take effort/time to integrate into their ecosystem, but their support and account management team is very flexible in providing you with resourcing to get integrated and started. They have a slack community that you can join to get answers and learn from others.

TLDR;
They are one of the only tools that intuitively support MongoDb.
Their support and account management is really amazing - they do care and show it by dedicating their resourcing when you need it most regardless of whether you're a startup or a big client. This by far makes it easier to leverage and get the most out of their ecosystem.
Once you pick up their query language, it saves time in getting insights across many different data sources.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

It can take some time to get fully integrated into their ecosystem to receive the full benefits. 
I'd take advantage of their support engineers and account management team and be proactive in getting questions answered.
They are really top notch compared to others in being able to provide true 1-1 support if you need it.
After signing up, I'd recommend dedicating a week or two to really fully get integrated into the system so you can take full advanage of their flows. 
Once you get set up, it opens up a lot of capabilities to maintain reporting, alerts, and queries that are otherwise very manual and time consuming to do.

They have their own query language which you'll want to familiarize yourself with, but their support is really great if you need any assistance.

The concept is nice but execution and ease of use is poor

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

In 2022-Q1, I conducted a series of data-viz trials between Grow, PowerBI, Mode, trevor.io, GoodData, Klipfolio, Domo, Sisense, Knowi et al. The trials included my team members, but we were outnumbered (by design) by non-tech business users. The biggest surprise was how quickly Mode ("too inflexible & slow") was eliminated – I thought for sure they would be a finalist.

We built the highest number of useful dashboards the fastest using Knowi – a clear win. After the trials, we migrated everything we made to Knowi, as we didn't try out any canned use cases, only real-world "need" cases.

While we selected Knowi as a viz tool, I'm also happy we did so from a data engineering perspective. Knowi's architecture models data thoughtfully, which I'd credit for enabling a collection of elegant features. Like the ability to live-update the contents of a dataset incrementally via API. Or Knowi's ability to query a source, returning a dataset that you can immediately re-query where it becomes a transformed/derived data-set... which it can hold on to for you, or persist in a different destination, or Knowi can even rewrite that derived dataset back to the original source.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

Thinking about this now, I have two feature suggestions I'll submit to Knowi. They've been receptive in the past and fast to implement. One is after you edit a query, you are then shown a thoughtful link that (optionally) takes you to your "last dashboard." It could be handy to have in a couple of more places. Finally, in the drag & drop query explorer, I wouldn't mind if the column of fields were resizeable via a handlebar on the side. This might save me some horizontal scrolling, as I tend to make my field names relatively long.

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a leader in the company, I needed a solution that enabled business users in every department to do their own exploratory data analysis. But as the leader of Business Intelligence, I needed tooling that provided advanced data visualization and analytics for the technical specialists on my team. I didn't think we could satisfy a diverse user base using a single BI tool, and as such, I wasn't expecting one to. However, I was surprised to discover Knowi serves both technical and non-technical users strikingly well without being a compromise to either. 

For example, users who aren't interested in learning SQL have two options.  One, they can submit queries in a normal sentence structure, which Knowi interprets via NLP. Second, they can use the drag & drop query builder. Even I use it often (despite my software engineering background) simply because it's faster and easier to do certain things using the visual builder than it is to write code to do the same. For example, it's easier to use the UI to trend aggregates (count, average, mean, etc.) on a time series. One does that a lot in BI. Even so, it is easy to flip back and forth between the visual builder and raw SQL within the same query. What's more, the drag & drop query builder puts a tiny info icon on each field which displays an instant hover showing you the min, max, mean, standard deviation, the # of missing records (if any), and also the cardinality of each field. So basically, Knowi teaches you a ton about your data even before you've finished querying it. 

For more technical users, Knowi lets you use SQL extensively, even in places you wouldn't think possible. For instance, let's say you've made some visualizations on a dashboard when you notice you'd like to make a refinement. There's no need to go all the way back to the database, query, or settings; you can just inject SQL into the widget to quickly make the change. This is one of Knowi's many "power" features that don't stand in the way of nominal use. Another is alerting. Most solutions give you basic threshold alerting, and so does Knowi. But Knowi also makes it trivial to set up anomaly alerting based on standard deviation. I haven't seen another vendor provide alerts based on standard deviation. If anyone were going to, I would have thought Elasticsearch/Kibana might, but no, not unless you specifically imbue Elastic with some sort of custom one-off javascript. Even then, it's a maybe. In Knowi, it's just 2-clicks.

Over the past 4.5 months since buying Knowi, we've onboarded 46 Users, written 179 Queries, made 415 Visualizations, and 88 Dashboards. Two divisions now have a Weekly Business Review (WBR) where Directors/VPs review their metrics. Also, the entire company does a Monthly Business Review (MBR). Presenting directly from Knowi saves hours of prep time. Moreover, being able to explore drill-downs live sparks richer data-inspired discussions. These reviews result in decisions and actions. In all, it would be fair to say we are now able to steer our business through Knowi.

The data layer of Knowi is what truly sets it apart.  the ability to connect dissimilar datasets is powerful.

Support is awesome!

Have found very few others similar!

Being an on-premises deployment has made it harder to get some of the kinks worked out.  But, support is always there and on top of issues.

We are using Knowi to deliver data to our customers and internal business users.  These range from traditional financial reports to IOT like data.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Knowi fits within a spectrum of functionality, ease of use, and performance.

- Functionality:  Knowi provides the ability to query multiple data sources, join data from multiple sources, and perform post-data-retrieval transformations, queries and aggregations; making it more powerful than a native data store client such as Kibana

- Ease of Use:  Knowi provides drag-and-drop capabilities, visualization and text-based editors for filters and joins, and easy-to-use dashboards and widgets, making it easier to use, quicker to query and visualize data and, ultimately, answer data-based questions, compared to lower-level data science tools such as Spark.  Knowi also has a well-established model separating data sources, queries, datasets, and widgets, allowing the lower-level entities (data sources, queries) to be quickly re-used to create additional higher-level entities and answer further questions.  The sharing model allows sharing and collaboration of any entity type with other Knowi users and groups.  There are multiple options to export and share data and visualizations outside of Knowi as well, including PDF exports and downloads, email, webhooks, etc.

- Performance:  Knowi's concept of indirect queries and their elastic-store allows datasets to be cached and refreshed at configurable periods, cutting down on, not only query and data visualization times but, load on your backend data stores as well.

Knowi is not perfect, no product is; but it is configurable enough to meet the needs of many use-cases.

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Knowi exists within our big-data ecosystem, servicing users of varying abilities, and fills the gap between our higher-level tools, such as Kibana, and lower-level data science tools.  Combining data from multiple sources and its ease of use allows users of all abilities, including novice users, to quickly answer their data-related questions.

We tried out Knowi and were instantly hooked on how easy it is to analyze data from multiple data sources.  The platform is easy to use, even if you are unfamiliar with data management.  Support is fast and valuable.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Being a non-technical user, I liked Knowi's search-based analytics feature. I was able to ask questions in English and get quick responses in the form of tables, charts, and graphs. Their customer support team also responded quickly to my support tickets. It was also easy to embed graphs and charts on our company's online portal through Knowi's embedded analytics feature.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

Knowi is a small company, but it's headed in the right direction in terms of growth. It lacked connectors to some cloud services. I hope they will resolve this problem soon.

**Recommendations to others considering Knowi:**

If you are a non-technical user looking for a BI tool, Knowi is the best option. They will also respond to your queries quickly in case you get stuck.

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Knowi to manage our library resources. Knowi has been useful because most of our team members only possess basic technical skills. By asking questions in English, we can get immediate responses. No need to write lines of code or go through a sequence of lengthy steps to get answers.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Knowi is an incredibly flexible web-based tool.

You can join data from multiple sources (a previously developed Knowi dataset being one of them), add transformations _a piacere_, and then have the resulting dataset available as a "live" connection to data (with or without cache), refreshing at specified intervals, or "triggered". 
The many visualization options are quite customizable, and very importantly there's the option of developing your own via HTML/JS. 
I haven't dived into embedding, but I saw there are lots of options there, too, and regardless of embedding dashboards can have a public shareable link.
You can also set up alerts or scheduled PDF reports via email/Slack/Teams/webhooks.
And on top of everything, the tool is constantly evolving, adding features and fixes every week.

Knowi has everything!

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

For a small startup, the tool might be considered pricey. 
Also it's not unusual to find some bugs here or there, and UX/UI is improvable. However, they are super open to feedback and solve everything quite quickly.

Knowi allows us to analyze our data and create dashboards and visualizations.

Trust the sales and development team they truly are the experts. Be well prepared with what you want to accomplish and also what you have tried in the past. They will also be as engaged with you as you are with them. I recommend weekly meetings in the begging just to gain a pulse on what is going on.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

With Knowi, I took a short period to get from raw data to insights as I didn't have to take my data through the ETL steps. I was also able to establish connections to NoSQL databases and work with unstructured data, a feature I didn't find in other BI tools. I also liked Knowi's search-based analytics feature, through which I was able to ask questions in plain English and get answers even in the form of visualizations. Knowi also allowed me to configure alerts for anomaly detection and monitoring metrics. I found it easy to embed my Knowi dashboards onto our conmpany website and even control the type of data that users can access using a secure URL. Knowi's knowledge base has many articles through which I was able to get support from.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

Nothing. I can't complain about Knowi. It helped me achieve what I wanted to achieve from my data. I was incredibly amazed by Knowi's ability to connect to NoSQL databases and pull unstructured data from there. This had been a great challenge to me before I met Knowi. Knowi also became cheaper as I added more members to the team.

**Recommendations to others considering Knowi:**

I will greatly recommend Knowi to any individual or company looking for a BI tool that can connect to nearly all data sources and work on all types of data, whether structured or unstructured.

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Knowi to solve all data-related problems in our company. For example, merging data from different data sources, data visualization, anomaly detection, monitoring KPIs, etc. It was easy for me and my team to accomplish these tasks since Knowi has a very simple user interface. Knowi made it possible for us to customize our dashboards and visualizations.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Know offers a web-based BI tool that requires no coding and is easy to use. I enjoy the ease of importing and manipulating data with their ReSTful APIs, combining datasets with implicit joins, embedding and sharing URLs in HTML single line of HTML code, and the toolbox of offerings for core metrics that clients may immediately request.  I have been building BI dashboards for years and I like that this tool offers the ability for analysts at all technical levels to be able to make sense of their data.  Data literacy and access to your data source is necessary, but this product has far fewer barriers of entry than other web-based BI tools like Looker or Qlikview.  Their NLP algorithm is competitive with other BI tools as well.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

Nothing to dislike, Knowi is a good tool

Excellent for fast analytics for non-technical people.

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had a NoSQL database in MongoDB that was a legacy database from a client's acquisition of a company that went out of business.   The database was poorly maintained and not normalized - I was able to leverage Knowi to be able to make sense of data deficiencies, some geographical tags, and find relationships between the legacy database and the current database, adding a level of historical data to the company's metrics.

Without any coding, we were able to create product and usage reports on top of our MongoDB.
Didn't need even 10 min of a developer hour.
The step-by-step data analyzing feature saves so many hours.

Price is too expensive for a startup.
If it was possible to have a startup price with limited features + monthly subscription.

Both to manage our usage reports such as retention, engagement, etc and to use it for building an additional layer of analysis on our main product db.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

Knowi makes it very easy for non-technical users to create and analyze reports but more importantly a semi-technical user can pull data together from any number of disparate sources. For example, we pull data from a MySQL database, joined to data in a MongoDB and from REST APIs like Facebook, Apple and Google. 

You don't have to know MongoDB or how to manipulate JSON responses from APIs, with some simple SQL-like commands it's easy to manipulate the data that is returned and visualize it in any number of ways. I think this feature is beyond anything I've seen in other analytics packages.

Knowi offers a number of different visualizations once you have the data and it can be used for real-time dashboard displays, canned report deliveries via email or real-time queries and analysis.

**What do you dislike about Knowi?**

There really isn't anything to dislike. 

**Recommendations to others considering Knowi:**

Knowi not only have an excellent product but their support is outstanding. In the unlikely event that the product doesn't meet your requirements they turn around customer requested features extremely quickly. 

The power of being able to pull data in from multiple sources concurrently and join it all together should not be underestimated. It is extremely powerful.

**What problems is Knowi solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for business reporting on a wide-variety of metrics, operational monitoring for a number of systemic and human processes and displaying system and service metrics in real-time.

We have moved away from having to share spreadsheets and manually collate information or wade through reams of system alerts and logging data.

**What do you like best about Knowi?**

We have different sources and data structures we work with. Using knowi, gave us the possibility to join those multiple sources (NoSQL and SQL) and build a reporting platform that has a layer of AI on top of it.

There is nothing to dislike to date. Knowi's level of service is excellent and they are available to any challenge/question.

Easily connecting different data sources, no ETL is needed, which shorten our go live date. We join large amounts of data from multiple different databases.
