"Promising Features but Overwhelming Complexity"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

The 'Security Defaults' allow me to instantly deploy Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across my entire organization without needing a dedicated security team. As the founder of Brzi AI, having enterprise-grade identity management (SSO, Conditional Access) available for a lean startup is critical for protecting our IP and data from day one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

The learning curve for the initial configuration can be steep for non-technical founders. The interface is powerful but dense; distinguishing between 'User Settings' and 'Enterprise Applications' requires significant documentation reading. It is clearly built for IT professionals, which can be overwhelming for small business owners implementing it solo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"EntraID: Seamless M365 Integration, Powerful Automation, and Phenomenal Support"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

We've found that EntraID (which replaced Azure AD) is super integrated and easy to implement. It's built into our M365 subscriptions and the customer support is phenomenal. For most of our daily products we rely on it under the hood. It has a ton of features that allow us to manage license assignments and automate group allocations and permissions and roles across various products. For myself, as a dev as well as a user, I use it daily without it being in my way and it's really easy to integrate and use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

Unfortunately, one of the most advertised and demoed features, such as automatic access reviews or advanced risk-based sign-in protection, depends on the most expensive Premium P2 license. That isn’t made very obvious, and the licensing matrix around EntraID is not always easy to understand or work with. On top of that, there have been a lot of deprecations that frustrate long-time Azure AD users, especially around older tools like MSOnline PowerShell. This can be particularly annoying for SysAdmins in environments that were using Azure AD well before EntraID replaced it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong, Scalable Identity Platform with Seamless Integration and Robust Security"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

Microsoft Entra ID provides a strong and scalable identity platform with seamless integration across Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party applications. Features like Conditional Access, MFA, and Single Sign-On significantly improve security while enhancing user experience. Centralized identity management, granular access controls, and strong compliance capabilities make it well-suited for enterprise and hybrid environments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

Advanced security features are heavily license-dependent, which increases cost for enterprises. Troubleshooting Conditional Access and authentication issues can be complex due to limited error transparency. The portal experience can feel fragmented at times, and changes or updates are not always clearly communicated, which can impact administration and learning curves Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Identity Management with Robust Security Features"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

What I like best about Microsoft Entra ID is how seamlessly it manages identity and access across the organisation. Its strong security features like conditional access, MFA, and risk-based controls make it easy to implement a solid Zero Trust approach. It integrates smoothly with Microsoft 365 and third-party apps, simplifies user lifecycle management, and offers helpful self-service options that reduce IT workload. The clear visibility through logs and reporting also makes monitoring and troubleshooting much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

What I dislike about Microsoft Entra ID is that some features are complex to configure, and important settings are spread across multiple admin portals. Licensing can also be confusing, with key security features locked behind higher-tier plans. Troubleshooting conditional access issues can sometimes feel slow and complicated. "Intuitive Interface, Cloud-Ready Ease"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

I really like Microsoft Entra ID's user-friendly interface. It makes managing user profiles and license assignments straightforward. The self-service password reset (SSPR) feature is great too, as it reduces the time for resetting passwords without needing to reach out to the helpdesk or local IT team. It's also fantastic that users can manage their account passwords with multi-factor authentication without the involvement of a technical support engineer. The initial setup was easier for my organization, and the availability of a cloud server made the switch from on-premises Active Directory seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Working toward an all in one product for small businesses."
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

Centralized identity and access management – It allows administrators to manage users, permissions, and application access from one platform across both cloud and on-premises environments.

Single Sign-On (SSO) – Users can access multiple applications with one set of credentials, reducing password fatigue and improving productivity.

Strong security controls – Features like multifactor authentication, conditional access, and identity protection help prevent account compromise and phishing attacks.

Adaptive access policies – Access decisions can consider user risk, device health, and location, enabling a Zero Trust security approach.

Integration - Integrates with the other Microsoft products/ecosystem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

Complex licensing and pricing tiers – Many advanced features (Conditional Access, Identity Protection, etc.) require premium licenses, which can make costs difficult to predict and manage.

Steep learning curve and configuration complexity – Policies, permissions, and API access settings can be difficult to configure correctly, especially in large environments.

Documentation and troubleshooting challenges – Some administrators report outdated or unclear documentation and inconsistent technical support when resolving issues.

Limited flexibility in certain identity and access scenarios – Permission management and identity controls may lack the granularity needed for complex enterprise environments.

Vendor lock-in with Microsoft services – Organizations heavily using Microsoft 365 are effectively required to use Entra ID for identity management, making it difficult to adopt alternative identity platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Azure Active Directory Review"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

Azure is very cost-effective because of its pay-as-you-go model. I only pay for what I use, which helps manage budgets and avoid unnecessary spending. It lets me run both customer and internal apps in the cloud, saving on hardware and maintenance costs. Scaling is easy—I can increase or decrease resources with just a click. Security is strong with features like multi-factor authentication and app passwords, so data stays safe. Plus, Azure offers high availability with a 99.95% SLA, which means services are reliable and always up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

Using Azure IaaS requires ongoing patching and diligent server monitoring, which is different from SaaS solutions where much of this maintenance is managed for you. It also demands a certain level of expertise, as all the various components must operate smoothly together. One frequent error is over-provisioning resources—what functions well on local servers may not be suitable for the cloud, potentially resulting in avoidable expenses. Without sufficient knowledge, businesses risk spending thousands more than necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

Some types of licensing have a high cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Access and Robust Security with Entra ID"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

I love Microsoft Entra ID for its seamless integration with a wide range of applications and services, both inside and outside the Microsoft ecosystem. Its Conditional Access policies give me granular control over user access, which allows for tailored security based on user identity, device compliance, and location. The single sign-on (SSO) capability enhances user experience while keeping robust security standards intact. Overall, Entra ID effectively balances security and usability, making identity management simpler for organizations. Additionally, the initial setup was perfect and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

One area for improvement is the complexity of certain advanced features, which can make configuration and troubleshooting challenging for less experienced administrators. Additionally, more intuitive guidance or pre-built templates for common scenarios would be beneficial. Reporting and auditing capabilities, while robust, could be more user-friendly and customizable. "Centralized Access Management with Learning Curve"
What do you like best about Microsoft Entra ID?

I like that Microsoft Entra ID provides a single point of entry for every service, so there's no need to log into each one individually. The access management is very advanced, allowing me to cover some nuanced permissions. Managing permissions in one place for every user makes it easy to set up and remove if needed, instead of configuring it in a bunch of different services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Entra ID?

I'm not sure if it's a disadvantage, but because Microsoft has a lot of services and they are connected between each other, it requires you to learn how to set it up correctly because sometimes it works incorrectly after the initial setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
