I appreciate Relativity's concept of object/field implementation, which allows me to create objects or fields to cater to different client requirements. The item level permissions are great for restricting functions as needed. I find it easy to understand and appreciate the different ways to bring data into the tool, including four different ways to upload documents for a faster start to the review. One improvement I suggest is AIR is working well to support review process, cost cutting and time management. I don’t like the document translation feature, as it’s often inaccurate and unreliable. I also feel that some common DFIR-oriented functions are missing, although that may simply reflect my personal preferences and professional background. Finally, I think the platform would benefit a lot from a real-time AI chat assistant to help speed up project management, as well as review, triage, and analysis. Relativity has freed us from relying on a slow, outdated, maintenance-heavy on-premises infrastructure. I think the hosting charges are cheaper than other platforms; but it requires extensive professional services time to operate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Relativity? I think Relativity is really poor from a user experience perspective. The speed of moving between documents is slow, and the look and feel of the screens are outdated. The screens and workflows feel unintuitive, and there's a lack of ability to tailor to the user's preferences. It also lacks machine translations or transcriptions, and documents are not imaged by default. The search builder is clunky and doesn't show results until the entire search is built and run. Setting it up was very difficult, and this complexity supports a niche for Relativity specialists, who are more technical or IT-focused rather than being lawyers. The main strength of Relativity is the versatility of the platform. It can be used across a wide variety of projects, and we have integrated many of our own tools into it, with more integrations planned as it continues to form the foundation of many of our new developments. The support team is highly responsive whenever assistance is needed, and the learning resources are extremely helpful for both new users and experienced users looking to stay up to date with the latest features, developments, and best practices. The newer toolsets, particularly those focused on AI, are a significant improvement over earlier offerings. They are intuitive, easy to learn, and benefit from a much more user-friendly interface, making them straightforward to adopt and incorporate into day to day workflows. While the newer features are well designed, I think the UI for the platform's core functionality particularly the older tools and foundational features feels somewhat dated and could benefit from a refresh. Streamlining the search and filtering experience, along with modernising the permissions workflow (for example, reducing the reliance on pop-up windows), would make the platform feel more intuitive and efficient. Separately, I have experienced inconsistent performance in some RelativityOne workspaces. At times, search performance slows unexpectedly, and I've encountered occasional freezing, slow page refreshes, and delays when loading or navigating between searches. It feels like it’s at the cutting edge of technology, especially with its AI capabilities, and it delivers consistently solid performance. I also like the level of UI customisability, and it integrates well with many different applications. Very easy software to use, extremely easy to set new users and train them in the use of the software. When adding security to some layouts/fields, it takes a long time with opening entirely new windows and waiting for them to load etc. It'd also be nice to have more automated tasks, such as when making an ARM having the ability to automatically delete the main workspace. I think most of it works, but the big push at AI also has some drawbacks that a lot is constantly changing and users need to adapt quickly, so dominating a workflow at this point doesn't add a lot of value if it is going to change in 3 months.
