We like that the solution is: - Flexible. It supports early payment offers on an invoice-by-invoice basis or those that apply to all of the invoices from a particular supplier. - Requires little oversight by AP. We setup the offers and the suppliers decide whether to participate. It's 100% up to them. - We can easily pause the offers as needed based on our cash position. - The suppliers can traverse transactions up and down the supply chain, from the original PO to the final remittance for payment. All the transactions are connected and in one location. **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** - It took a little longer than expected to get the solution integrated with our payables solution. - The system sends a lot of emails to suppliers. There is nothing I like about it, apart from a few folks on the technical support team that I have spoken with (since I basically to have them on speed dial). If I could convince all buyers around the world to do research and look into other procurement mangement options, I would implore them to do so. **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** Ariba is by far the system that has caused severe anguish and stress in my career. It is an awful, hugely antiquated UX, unintuitive, with consistent tech problems. I have to call Ariba tech support nearly every time I receive an RFP invite from a buyer (at least monthly). Login issues occur almost 100% of the time. I HAVE to have multiple logins and usernames, which quickly creates problems with password management or collaboration with other teammates, let alone just trying to sign in to the event I'm invited to properly. If the buyer hasn't selected the correct username/email to send me an invite (and really, how are they to know?), a login catastrophe ensues immediately, and I am sent down the Ariba spiral of pain and misery. If I had a way to disrupt and cancel out this system for good entirely, I would pay pretty money to do so. I believe that SAP users must be given free access to use Ariba for their procurement because I legitimately cannot think of one benefit they'd receive from choosing this system out of their own free will. A quick example of a classic Ariba issue: upon exporting the event info and buyer questions into the standard excel form, completing it offline, and then attempting to import the excel back into Ariba (i.e., often a questionnaire with hundreds of rows), I will receive red import "error" pop-ups that state something along these lines: "Error recognized on Row 33, value not recognized". I promptly called Ariba tech support only to learn, "oh, that means the error is really on row 34 - the row below". "How would I ever know that?" "Yeah, you wouldn't. That's just the way it's setup." The gripes list could go on forever. Our organization uses Ariba through mutliple processes and teams in a sales cycle, and we have experienced massive pains in just trying to complete simple tasks. **Recommendations to others considering SAP Ariba:** Do not consider it. **What problems is SAP Ariba solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am responding to sales prospect RFPs, for buyers who use Ariba for competitive procurement events. I typically use it to view and download purchase orders for one of my customers. The orders are digitally integrated with SAP so the orders arrive on a delivery block and then I sign into Arriba to compare the hard copy PO to the order that transferred into SAP. It is really easy to view and compare pricing part numbers and Unit of measure. **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** I dislike that UOM discrepancies cause invoice rejections for example cylinder sometimes is displayed as each and I believe it is my customers settings that cause an automatic rejection even if the pricing matches exactly. **What problems is SAP Ariba solving and how is that benefiting you?** I solve pricing discrepancies and part number issues mostly. The home page shows visualizations of paid and unpaid invoices over a scope of time. Submitting invoices is intuitive and it's also painless to search for previously submitted invoices. **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** The page loading time is painfully slow regardless of high speed Internet. If the pages loaded at a reasonable time, you could seamlessly submit invoices in minutes, but nearly every time your stuck waiting for a page to load for a few seconds. **What problems is SAP Ariba solving and how is that benefiting you?** With SAP Ariba, invoices aren't lost in the thick of email inboxes. The client can easily log into their account and see all pending invoices. It's a relatively easy software to use for submitting and tracking invoices through the approval funnel. Ariba also helps cut down on back and forth communication. If an invoice is defected, we can log on to our portal, see why it was rejected and make the necessary updates and resubmit. ### 38.
