In my organisation we require high precision data of invoices for planning inventories and next sells. According to me this is the best part of SAP Ariba that we can have well managed invoices data in one place. **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** Although SAP Ariba is not difficult to work with it's definitely difficult to learn. I think SAP should provide more easy to learn tutorials for this software.( I am aware of the learning content that SAP provides but it just isn't easy to learn) **What problems is SAP Ariba solving and how is that benefiting you?** SAP Ariba solves issues like duplication of invoice data and provides great precision with right data ALWAYS. With the introduction of CIG, implementation has been so smooth and easy and is being loved by our entire organization. We use it for all hardware and software procurement. **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** Error handling in SAP Ariba has to be improved to emphasize the error better. Best thing about Ariba was its supplier risk feature where clients can see the metric and assess a responsible supplier for procurement. Has a feature of contract management which is very handy as it standardise an internal process to an integrated view of a contract data. Strategic sourcing is also one of the great pros of Ariba, as it enables the person see the points that might have missed. Customer support works fine as same as the other SAP products and there are lots of forums on the web that have discussions on how to get the most of the product. **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** The first customisation and implementation could be a headache and could take serious time. It's a no-brainer to use their Business Network then. Or not? **What do you dislike about SAP Ariba?** Overall, don't opt for Ariba or the SAP Business Network if you: - Expect any support. The support has never ever helped us. - Want a good onboarding experience. As a supplier, I assisted over 100 customers to start using Ariba and use it daily. The onboarding staff at Ariba just follows pointless Excel lists without any reality check. The integration is extremely frustrating. Example: Ariba Onboarding: we experienced everything from 3 months to 2 years, and even "we gave up on this." Onventis, Newtron, or any other "good" procurement platform: 2 emails (5 minutes for the supplier, 2 minutes for their support). - Wish to have relieved employees. I speak with many of our customers, and they ALL, and I really mean "all," are frustrated with Ariba, also known as SAP Business Network, after using it for a while. - Need a test environment. It exists, but operates entirely differently from the live environment. But follow the rules! Before you're allowed to use the live environment, the onboarding staff at Ariba will tell you to first use the test environment. - Desire clear error messages. "Network error - there was an error uploading your file" can mean anything. In most cases, it indicates some missing prices in the uploaded catalog file. The prices are supposed to be optional if you check the documentation. But they are not. Luckily, I got a "Network error," so I can instantly find and fix problems like this. - Prefer a good UI/UX. Do you like to click "Yes, I'm sure" after each action? Do you enjoy waiting forever for the website to load? It would be worth a separate post to rant about the usability alone... - Want cost-efficient processes. Probably, your supplier will charge you more if they know you'll be using Ariba. It's just complicated, the supplier has to pay for it, and the processes become slower. Ask Ariba how they handle processes that don't fit their criteria. Customized products, graduated prices, live stock availabilities... I think they'll "cover it" all – but how? - Aim to become globally digital or get automated processes. That's what they tell you. Reality: Your employees no longer send the inquiry or order by mail or phone within a minute or two. They log in to Ariba, skip the product search, look for the contact form, fill in many unnecessary fields, and send the form to the supplier. The supplier then receives an email that there's a new order/inquiry, has to log in to Ariba, search for the right inquiry, and open it there... I think you get the point. And I didn't mention how many times both parties had to hit the "Yes, I'm sure, I want to do this" button. The supplier no longer sends you the invoice PDF from their ERP automatically by email. Now, they download the invoice from their ERP and upload the PDF to Ariba... **What problems is SAP Ariba solving and how is that benefiting you?** No one at all, It just creates problems. ### 18. Earlier I use take print out for diffrent levels of approval and then attach each and paper with the invoice but now the same can be done using SAP Ariba. ### 20.
