Phrase TMS is an excellent tool for me as a translator, receiving jobs from clients. In the job overview, I can see which jobs are new, started on, or completed. The editing view, where I add my translations, is also very nice. When I have a phrase that is very similar to an old one, Phrase gives me the translation of the older, similar phrase and shows me exactly where the two phrases differ. It's also easy to work with Term Banks and add terms when needed.

If there is something to complain about, then it's the fact that Phrase doesn't necessarily recognize conjugated forms of terms. If I am supposed to use a term, and I actually use it, but in a conjugated form to fit Swedish grammar, Phrase will complain that I haven't used the term. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It helps with translations using AI assistance and makes translation production faster. It also handles repetitive words and sentences, so the translator can more easily maintain consistency across translations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It would be even more helpful if it could use AI to detect inconsistencies among words and phrases in cases beyond exact (100%) or ICE matches. It could also flag potential inconsistencies and prompt me to review them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The platform is very intuitive to use and it's easy to work with either as a translator or as a project manager. When setting up projects, the step by step format is very helpful, as you cannot forget about anything when creating the jobs and assigning them. The content hub has a lot of insightful and helpful information in case you have doubts. Phrase has been optimizing the use of AI, but it's not forcing it on you if you don't feel like using it, so that's also great. Not really, I find it very useful. The platform has been adding new features lately, mostly regarding to the use of MT and AGT, which I still have to review thoroughly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Frankly to say, have been using both Phrase Web and Phrase Desktop for several years, since the very beginning of this platform.

What I like?

I love that I can accept the project under Phrase Web, download the joined file and then continue ONLINE under Phrase Desktop with all settings. This is very useful for me as a professional translator.

Phrase Desktop features and pros:

- Very easy UI and layout

- Powerful tool - very light and fast, I can use it even on my ultrabook

- Processing e.g. 120 k word project with MTPE is very fast, scrolling works brilliant, filtering out segments works like a hurricane, almost at no time!

I do not like the file limit when I accept projects with more that 600-700 files.

Another problem is terminology management - at my work, I am focused on optimization and I use customized glossaries with terminology.

The feature for adding new terms requires me to use the schortcut twice and then to click required option. This does not streamline my process.

Now I use the maintenance version of Phrase Desktop - 26.2.1.

I am very disappointed that this desktop tool will be no longer developed. Please reconsider further develepment, indeed!

I really appreciate how the Phrase Localization Platform can upload almost anything and keeps the format, numbers, and the number of sentences clear. It uses AI to make translations faster, which is really helpful for speeding up the process. We use the Phrase language AI quite a bit. We also use Phrase strings and Phrase TMS, and I almost use all the features. I'm happy with them. The initial setup was quite intuitive although it took me some time, I always found what I needed and it wasn’t so difficult. It's user-friendly and straightforward. Well, the pricing model is a little bit strict. Because you pay for the AI units. You pay for a number of strings or keys that are like, hung up in Phrase. I really like the ease of use of the Phrase Localization Platform, it's definitely a standout feature. I also appreciate that the system is divided by segments, which makes the translation and error correction process easier. The already established translation memories are very useful for working with different clients. What I like best about Phrase is that it is very user-friendly and similar to my own CAT software, so the learning curve was very easy and I felt confident to use almost immediately. There are plenty of helpful functionalities and the filters work very well. Auto-propagation is highly efficient, saving me a lot of time. The layout is very clear and easy on the eyes. I like that the Phrase Localization Platform is cloud-based, which makes it easy and quick for everyone to access, especially when changing laptops or onboarding new employees. The tagging, our variables are sometimes a bit awkward and need to be manually added. There is a manual option for doing it, so it's not the end of the world. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It simply works. Differently from Trados, it's really plug-and-play. You can just focus on translation without worrying about errors, crashes, glitches, and all the "pleasant" things you have to face when you use Trados. TMs and glossaries work very well, you can integrate it with systems like DeepL, and you have a lot more help than Trados when you work (suggestions, terms, and the likes). I only have a small complaint with Memsource - it doesn't work well with high-DPI systems. In particular, I have a 4K monitor, but the interface (not the translation environment) is sometimes tiny, sometimes enormous. However, it isn't a big deal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
