One thing I really like is how smooth and modern the UI feels. Everything is easy to find, and managing projects is much more organized. The translation matching is excellent and helps avoid repetitive work. I also love how quickly we can assign vendors and send automatic messages directly from the platform. What do you dislike about Phrase? The platform is already very strong, but there are still a few areas that could be improved. Sometimes larger projects can take a little longer to load, and some advanced settings can be difficult for new users to understand at first. Phrase helps solve a lot of the common challenges in localization, like managing multiple languages, keeping translations consistent, and coordinating between internal teams and external vendors. Before using Phrase, we had to rely on spreadsheets and manual updates, which often led to delays and version mismatches. Now, everything is centralized, and we can track progress in real time. What I like most about Phrase is the automatic confirmation of identical segments, which saves a lot of time on large projects. I also appreciate the ability to sort strings by different criteria, such as confirmed/unconfirmed status or fuzzy match percentages, as this makes project management much easier. Another feature I find very useful is the F8 keyboard shortcut for inserting tags quickly and accurately, which helps maintain formatting consistency and improves productivity. I find the job lists somewhat unintuitive, and in many cases I prefer to ask the Project Manager to send me a direct link to the assignment. Even when I receive and use the link, I often struggle to find the same job later from within Phrase itself. As a result, I end up clicking the original link again. However, after I have already accepted the assignment, that same link often no longer takes me directly to the job, which can be frustrating and time-consuming. While I am a freelancer rather than an agency, it still benefits me indirectly by helping me gain new clients among translation agencies. For a freelancer, having many years of experience with Phrase is a significant advantage in the market. Many agencies use Phrase as their preferred translation platform, so being familiar with the tool allows me to integrate quickly into their workflows and start working efficiently from day one. It maintains a user-friendly interface with smooth operations, which is much faster than other CAT tools I know. In addition, importing an Excel file as a TB is incredibly easy. Since you can start a free plan (Personal edition) and also free-trial, I feel easy to recommend Memsource to others. Thanks to Memsource, which suggests words the instant I start to type, I now don't have to do it: I simply choose one of the suggested words, which relieves my stress. As always, human supervision is needed, especially when working when sensitive content (as is my case). There is one feature that Phrase offers that, in my experience, is not very common: creating a term base for letting translators which word NOT to use. Unfortunately, in some of my recent projects, an error message appeared when I tried to confirm segments and save my progress. Not all the progress I had made was lost, but confirmed segments are used to track progress. Therefore, the rest of the team was unable to tell how much work I had actually completed. Phrase TMS is an excellent tool for me as a translator, receiving jobs from clients. In the job overview, I can see which jobs are new, started on, or completed. The editing view, where I add my translations, is also very nice. When I have a phrase that is very similar to an old one, Phrase gives me the translation of the older, similar phrase and shows me exactly where the two phrases differ. It's also easy to work with Term Banks and add terms when needed. I also like that I can work online or on desktop, I prefer the latter for bigger jobs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Phrase? If there is something to complain about, then it's the fact that Phrase doesn't necessarily recognize conjugated forms of terms. What problems is Phrase solving and how is that benefiting you? One thing that I like is that when a word is in the Term Bank, I don't need to type the entire word. If I just start with the first letter, it will suggest for me to type the term by a shortcut. The platform noticeably improves my day-to-day throughput because I can spend my time refining nuance instead of rebuilding work from scratch, helped by efficient machine translation and a translation memory that keeps track of recurring phrases. The platform is very intuitive to use and it's easy to work with either as a translator or as a project manager. When setting up projects, the step by step format is very helpful, as you cannot forget about anything when creating the jobs and assigning them. The content hub has a lot of insightful and helpful information in case you have doubts. Phrase has been optimizing the use of AI, but it's not forcing it on you if you don't feel like using it, so that's also great. I still really enjoy using the Figma integration in my daily UI/UX workflow. Being able to create and edit localization keys directly from Figma makes the process much faster and more intuitive. Frankly to say, have been using both Phrase Web and Phrase Desktop for several years, since the very beginning of this platform. What I like? I love that I can accept the project under Phrase Web, download the joined file and then continue ONLINE under Phrase Desktop with all settings. This is very useful for me as a professional translator. Phrase Desktop features and pros: - Very easy UI and layout - Powerful tool - very light and fast, I can use it even on my ultrabook - Processing e.g. 120 k word project with MTPE is very fast, scrolling works brilliant, filtering out segments works like a hurricane, almost at no time! I do not like the file limit when I accept projects with more that 600-700 files. Another problem is terminology management - at my work, I am focused on optimization and I use customized glossaries with terminology. The feature for adding new terms requires me to use the schortcut twice and then to click required option. This does not streamline my process. Now I use the maintenance version of Phrase Desktop - 26.2.1. I am very disappointed that this desktop tool will be no longer developed. Please reconsider further develepment, indeed!
