What do you like best?

1. The interface is convenient for us.

2. I can grant access to specific languages to the selected persons even without creating my own team and assigning access rights and roles.

3. Machine translation integration is easy.

4. Translation memory is also available.

5. There a lot of features that we do not use at the moment but probably will use in the future.

6. Wide choice of integrations with third-party services.

7. Last but not least: very responsive support. We get responses for all requests within 5-10 minutes and it seems to me they work 24x7. That's amazing.

8. Awesome feature to upload screenshots and annotate them automatically with text recognition or manually if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

In general, I would suggest more flexible pricing because there are a lot of features and in some cases we do not need some features but need another. I should admit that in all cases when we experience such a situation the support found for us appropriate solution on an individual basis.

Maybe text segmentation could be easier when you need to translate long text files. At the same time I know that there is an advanced tool to create segmentation rules available at Crowdin but probably I am too lazy to use it ( Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using Crowdin to translate Android applications into multiple languages.

It is easy to upload files for translations, update files, view translation history and download the translation.

As I have mentioned before - screenshot uploading and annotating make it easier for translators to understand the context of each string. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

- rich features

- large global translation memory

- great tools for effectively managing tens of translators at once

- excellent screenshot tools for describing the context of strings

- well-arranged UI

- API access Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

- a little bit complicated at a first sight, but you get used to it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Our Android app BIG Launcher targets senior users, thus the localization is really important to us. To manage hundreds of freelance translators across 50 different languages during the 9 years period of the existence of our app is an easy job - thanks to Crowdin. We've been one of the first Crowdin customers and we are really amazed by the number of features they keep adding to make the management of the translations as smooth as possible. The platform is pretty solid, everything is working great with no downtimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I definitely like how many different integrations are offered by Crowdin ready to use. Their translation memory provides translators with already approved translations from previous projects - which means, over time it gets easier and way faster. The editor has easy to use functions - most of our translators can work with it without training at all! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes the invitations to our projects are not seen. I would love to get a reminder, if users do not join in a specific time frame. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is way easier to show people what you exactly need. Especially if you need specific formatting or tags embedded into your translations. Translators just click on them and move them to the correct position.

You can provide context with screenshots of actual products, or just an export of your screen design.

You do not have to send the request manually via email - you just create a task, assign translators and notify them.

You know what has been translated without looking into your local folders, Excel, Google Spreadsheet, or whatever you use to track progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

- Crowdin is a great tool for developers, localization managers and translators alike. This means they have a robust API with detailed documentation, practical project management tools, and a modern, intuitive CAT interface for linguists.

- The tool is packed with great and very practical features from the start, and the development team continuously delivers new integrations and features with a lot of value for customers. They listen to their audience and it shows.

- Their customer support is terrific. They reply within minutes at any time of day, and the support staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't know, then they find out for you. If it can't be done through conventional means, they will find alternatives or offer customised solutions. They will be patient with any level of tech savyness and will follow up to make sure all your questions are answered. They are not native english speakers, but their english is great so communication is easy and quick. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

- The reporting system could be a little clearer, specially for translators and translation/localization managers.

- The login dashboard could be more informative so you get a good overview of where your projects are at without having to click on each one. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Get on a call with them once you've had a chance to test out the tool and go through the basic documentation. All of your questions will be answered fairly quickly and they will help you design a good workflow for your team and your needs.

Need more trial time? Ask support for help. Unsure of how to use the slightest feature? Open up your support chat window. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- Localizing into 30+ languages without any issues, even for less common languages.

- Highly customizable platform, so everything can be adjusted to your specific technical and content workflows.

- Accurate reporting for each linguist, making it easier to handle invoicing.

- Increased quality for translations thanks to their great screenshot upload/tagging tool, commenting/issue feature, and automated QA checks during proofreading.

- The pricing is just right with very flexible packages. Unlimited users and languages, with most pricing options based on source strings alone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Its interface turns out to be something quite simple and easy to use, the fact that it allows me to translate a great variety of games, software and other applications in a very fast and simple way, the fact that it allows me to delve into unknown words to In a quite simple and practical way, through the context of the word, it turns out to be a very useful tool, especially to learn new words in a much simpler and faster way, their customer service is quite fast at the time of Answering any questions or requirements that we may have while using the application is very useful in case of having a problem with the use of the application, another thing that I like a lot is the fact that it has notification and alert options. which allows me to receive notifications in my email allowing me to always be updated on the incidents that have occurred. What do you dislike?

Unable to configure email notifications, so many times I end up with my inbox full of spam messages and it is quite a hassle when I receive more than 10 messages a day and they are pure spam. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Creo que sería algo de gran valor si se pudieran seleccionar los eventos que deseo que me notifiquen en mi correo, ya que en muchos casos recibo una gran cantidad de correos basura o de información que no es de mi completo interés en mi bandeja de entrada. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Me ha estado ayudando a localizar de una manera más sencilla, rápida y segura videojuegos que tengan soporte multi-idiomas o que de hecho pueda tener acceso a traducirlo de forma inmediata y automática por medio de esta aplicación sin que tenga que preocuparme por realizar esta tarea yo. What do you like best?

- Customer support is available pretty much 24/7 and very fast and professional in response.

- Comes with a great VSCode plugin that interfaces with Crowdin API.

- Generous usage limits per plan and very supportive for small projects like ours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

- Crowdin has a feature that allows website users to suggest and vote translations anonymously. Unfortunately there does not seem to be any documentation on this feature or it's API so we had to tweak quite a lot to integrate this feature in our app, which is Flutter based.

- Audit history of changes to translation strings could be a bit better Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using Crowdin to manage the localization of our app, which is a small hobby project. Compared to any selfmade solution to organize 20+ languages, Crowdin comes as close to perfect as it gets. Especially the VSCode plugin provides us with a very good tool that makes upload/download into Crowdin a breeze and has been vital in speeding up the translation process. — Lots of integration with third-party services and tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

— Project access right could've been more flexible.

— No simple way to hide strings for languages that do not require translation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I don't know why Crowdin has such a low score and little reviews in G2 when compare with others.

Our company is new to localization world, I've trial with a lot platforms includes Crowdin, Phrase, Transifex, Lokalise and even open sourced Weblate, Crowdin is the ONLY one makes me feel comfortable on UI/UX, all others have a lot low UI/UX designing except Lokalise, but Lokalise use tooooo many icons and small buttons to hide their functions, that makes me feel bad.

The MOST important thing for a translator (the core of localization) i think is FOCUS. Crowdin's editor makes sure they will focus on "translations" not UI/UX. But others make me feel so noise when I look at their UI.

I wanna vote 10/10 stars to Crowdin's clear and focusable UI/UX, and BTW they have 24/7 support makes me feel good.

As for Smartling... they have no free trial for me, i still waiting for their demo, so if smartling has more clear UI/UX than Crowdin, I guess i will change my word later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Crowdin can not integrates with our self-hosted GitLab server automatically in UI, their support said we must write our own script to use their CLI to integrate, I feel bad on this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I don't know what to advise, I just feel that Crowdin is the most user friendly product in this area after my 3 days evaluation of all other things. Except Smartling, they have no free trial and still wait for their demos. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

I can really figure out what is the feature I like most, since I can't go without it as soon as I start to use it. In the past, we had to rely on Google sheets to manage our translations, since our team is in different locations. However, there are some issues with it. It is quite inconvenient to extract translation or manage distributions. Crowdin has fixed all these issues for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have a online game which should be easy to play for all players around the world and so need translations, so everyone can play it in their native language. Unfortunately we don't have a high budget as we are an indie developer, so we translate the game together with our awesome community. Therefore we needed a tool where we have enough control and our community can easily dive in to help us localize. With CrowdIn we already have 8 different languages and more are coming. What do you like best?

First of all, I'd like to underline the UX of the platform. It's extremely comfortable to use it, it's easy to explore it at the initial stage of usage, it's beautiful and doesn't hurt my eyes with lots of unnecessary blocks and so on. No need to accustom oneself to work with it, everything is intuitive.

The second is the integrations. With Crowdin APIs you can easily connect the platform to your project wherever it is, and import/export the texts directly into your code.

The third is the best support team I've ever met. Honestly speaking the Crowdin way of support management, the way they talk to you, their collaborativeness should become a standard everywhere. These guys relly care about you and your project success and ready to help any time with any issues you face. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

That would be great if I could change the source project language.

I mean, if I have a project where the source is in Russian, but my Chinese translator doesn't speak Russian, I want to have the possibility to choose my English translation as a source for my Chinese. I hope you get the idea. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

CrowdIn is respectable for what it does. Lots of language options and the ability to manage per-language permissions for translating users is great. Separating between submitted and approved translations is also useful. Their API is strong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

CrowdIn has no account recovery for situations where a billing account might be attached to a former employee of your company. Was told this is because of their privacy policy, which I find hard to believe since this is a common scenario for most enterprise software companies.

We've been struggling to find a solution with CrowdIn's support team for over a month now and unfortunately don't seem any closer to finding a resolution. They are literally making it difficult to give them money and renew our subscription, which is both confusing and frustrating. CrowdIn's poor account management has eroded our trust in the reliability of their services.

An actual feature improvement that would be helpful is aggregate-level reporting for the translation status of languages across all projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Translating and storing of various versions of software was a problem before. Now it's easy. Once a string is translated it is automatically stored as a permanent dictionary and even if the id of the string changes or the same string is reused more than once in our applications with different id's, it can be translated automatically. The online translation "In context" is extreemely powerful, especially when translating with a team because everyone sees the change immediately and avoids to work where someone else has translated already. All this saves a tremendous amount of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Crowdin offers everything needed for managing software string translation and above all has the best cutomer service I have ever encountered anywhere. What do you dislike?

We encountered some problems with processing righ-to-left languages in strings with variables. The hybrid RTL/LTR text was distorted in the UI and impossible to edit. I love sending a link to a translator and letting her translate right on the page with all the context needed. It reduces contextual errors and frees everyone up for other tasks. What do you dislike?

The product supports tons of formats but I have to backsave some Adobe files for them to work. I'd love it if CrowdIn added Creative Cloud support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
