## Sage 300 Reviews
 ### 1. Sage’s Robust Functionality Keeps It Ahead of the Market

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

Sage offers a lot of functionality and, compared to other tools on the market, it feels ahead of the game even though the look and feel is a bit dated. It also integrates with many different software platforms, including our current project management software.

I especially like how easy it is to jump in and make edits to project budgets. There’s a lot of flexibility in how you set things up, with plenty of options for the different columns you can use. We also have really good pricing at this point compared to other ERPs on the market.

Overall, the system works well for what it’s intended to do.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

It has a very outdated look and feel, and its integrations with other systems are quite limited.

Because it’s an older system, it can be difficult to navigate at times, and certain modules are slow to load. As a result, modules will sometimes time out or lock up. We also run into challenges when working with support, since the system is highly customizable. That often means the reps don’t know how to troubleshoot a report, especially when it was built by a consultant.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It addresses all of our cost accounting and project budget management needs. It also enables our teams to track project financials accurately, which is exactly what we need it to do.

 ### 2. Customizable Yet Manual Payroll Solution

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex W. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

I find Sage 300 to be incredibly valuable for handling complex payroll processes. It's customizable and supports our needs for NY Prevailing wages and handling different locations. The system allows us to pay different employees various hourly wages accurately from the start, which saves time and boosts confidence in the payroll department. We tried other payroll systems, but only Sage 300 had the capability to handle such diverse and certified classes efficiently, making it a good fit for our company's needs.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Sage 300 is very manual and outdated. It's not worse, just slower and requires a lot of manpower to make it work.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage 300 handles our complex payroll, allowing us to manage NY Prevailing wages and multiple locations accurately. It's customizable and helps us pay employees different hourly wages without needing corrections, saving time and boosting confidence in payroll accuracy.

 ### 3. Affordable and Easy ERP, But Limited Production/EDI and Mac Performance Issues

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charlie P. | Director of Supply Chain and Logistics, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

It's an affordable ERP that is good with accounting. It's easy to learn how to use and set up.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

It is limited in its capabilities for handling production and overseas importing. It is unable to handle many of the EDI transactions other, more expensive, ERP systems can handle. It can be glitchy at times and does not perform well if using a Mac. Building custom reports is difficult and normally requires a 3rd party to have one built.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is handling order management and accounting and is better that Quick Books.

 ### 4. Powerful Global Operations, But the UI Feels Dated and Hard to Navigate

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel D. | Global Director of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

One of the strongest selling points is its ability to manage complex global operations. It handles multiple companies, different currencies, and localized tax requirements within a single interface, making consolidated reporting significantly easier.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The interface often feels like a relic from the late 90s or early 2000s. It lacks the intuitive, "modern" feel of web-native ERPs, and navigating through multiple nested menus and pop-up windows can be cumbersome for new users.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Lack of Scalability vs. Modular Architecture
The Problem: Smaller accounting software often fails as a company grows, requiring a total (and expensive) system overhaul.

The Benefit: Because it is modular, you can solve immediate problems (like basic GL) and then "unlock" advanced features (like Warehouse Management or Project Costing) as the business scales, protecting your initial investment.

 ### 5. Sage 300: Comprehensive Accounting Modules with Flexible Integrations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

As a finance professional, what I like most about Sage 300 is that it covers most of the core accounting functions, with separate modules for accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and the GL. It also has a financial reporting option that provides useful financial insights. In addition, it offers the flexibility to integrate with other systems, which makes it easier to fit into existing processes.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

I’d say the main drawback is the outdated system. However, the good thing is that it offers an upgrade option, which would be great for an organization with dedicated IT support.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sage 300 helps solve financial management issues while improving data accuracy and operational efficiency. Overall, it saves time, increases efficiency, and provides better visibility into the company’s financial performance.

 ### 6. Streamlined Organization with Room for UI Improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teboho L. | SAP FI,ISH & ISH Med & MM Functional Consultant , Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

I like Sage 300cloud because it keeps everything organized in one system. I can see our finances, stock, and orders all in one place, and I'm able to pull reports for management. Having everything organized saves us a lot of time since I can quickly see invoices, stock, and orders, which reduces mistakes and makes planning and reporting easier.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The main thing that doesn't work as well is that some processes are slow and not very intuitive, especially for new users. Setting up reports or customizing certain features can take time, and the interface could be easier to navigate. The initial setup of Sage 300cloud was a bit complicated and time-consuming, needing guidance to ensure everything was configured correctly.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Sage 300cloud to manage financials, inventory, and operations. It solves the problem of managing invoices, payments, and stock across locations, reducing manual work and errors. It keeps everything organized, saving time and making planning and reporting easier.

 ### 7. User-Friendly and Compatible with Other Apps

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

It’s compatible with other apps and very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Exporting from Sage, I’ve found it’s outdated and doesn’t work well with newer versions of Excel.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s a very efficient accounting software that simplifies many tasks and makes the job faster.

 ### 8. Sage 300 CRE

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

Sage 300 is great software for businesses in the construction industry or for those who are in job cost accounting in general. It's user friendly software and the modules are simple, but they're designed to have the essentials needed for accounting functions. Sage 300 is software I've been using for about 5 years now with two different employers with two completely different sale of services, but using it at both companies allowed me to see how adaptable the software is, while allowing me to tweak certain reports or create new ones based on need.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Things I dislike about Sage 300:
* Can't edit the invoice date in the Adjust Receivables module
* I dislike that the character count is 10 for payment references, would like a few more characters; I think 15 would make me satisfied

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Not currently solving any problems, it's doing what we need it to do.

All our operations can be linked and synced to this ERP, which makes data and info easily traceable. It has different syncing alternatives to third parties, which has been an important point.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The interface is not as friendly as other software, and new users can find very difficult to get around different modules.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our company uses different software to control projects. SAGE easily synchronizes with these programs and facilitates communication between administrative and operational modules.

Hard to find answers to issues that occur with the system by myself.

 ### 18. Sage 300, powerful and functional but the design is not user friendly

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2021

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

There are recurring functions for routine transactions, which saves time for routine data entries. However, the recurring setting is limited to entries instead of the whoel batch with multiple entries.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Even with the good function of recurring entries, there are some limits to it e.g., only being able to recur one entry instead of a batch of entries.

The design of the software is not user friendly:
1. the color, the paged column layout are hard to read for beginners
2. no copy and past options, which we often use
3. not able to delete "a single line" of the entries in GL, instead need to delete the whole entries if happen to enter anything wrong and would like to make changes.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

When having high volume of entries for business
Easy to integrate with other supporting software since it is in the industry for a long time

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefit of using Sage 300 cloud is that the software allows high volume of daily entries, suitable for companies with large amounts of transactions.
Also allows multiple to use it at the same time with real-time update.

Financial Reporting is simplified, automation of Accounts Payable has reduced staffing requirements, integration of a partner built Billing System for our clients makes billing much simpler, Crystal reports to edit and change the standard reports to suit our needs, add-ons by other partners have solved our POS issues and integrated directly to Sage 300cloud

 ### 20. Sage 300 review

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 04, 2022

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

It can be integrated to Expensify and Bill.com

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Unfortunately, it seems that in order to optimize and maximize the ERP it needs to be connected to third-party platforms.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

Oracle and Netsuite are better options

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Day to day Accounting Operations.

 ### 21. Good Accounting Platform

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

We have this installed on our on-premise servers. It is a small footprint software, and it doesn't take up space on the server.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The annual licensing costs are very expenisve. They don't have discounts for small businesses or even not for profit ad charity organizations which is a shame.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for accounts receivables, accounts payable, EFT and payroll, as well as generating accounting reports.

 ### 22. Sage 300cloud Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy W. | Controller, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

Easy to use and user-friendly. I don't get much time to understand

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Less reports are available and it's near pricey side licensing.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very effective for small business, easy processing, time saving and understadable

 ### 24. Not so good experience with sage 300

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

 ### 25. Sage 300 - a solid ERP solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa C. | Financial Systems Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

The ease of integrating different apps in order to personalize the solution to our industry

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The reporting function is awkward - I dislike using Excel as an answer for everything, especially financials

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

Look carefully at what you need for your business, your industry before you make a decision. Then, interview the resellers as well - a good reseller can make all the difference in the world in your integration. They will tell you what is possible with the software alone and what you will need 3rd party additions to help you with. They become your partners.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solid Project and Job Costing module has made that part a bit easier to balance out to the general ledger - first time in years.

 ### 26. Small Business Financial Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** odaine r. | Business Accountant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

I like the possibilities of Integrating Sage 300 CRM + ERP. The vast capabilities extend beyond small businesses into mega companies; Businesses would be able to not only have proper back-end procedures but also an online front desk that basically allows for ease of interaction and troubleshooting between clients and customers.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

I dislike some back-end processes and how they interact among each relevant module. It seems to me that there is room for human error, largely in part due to the fact that their might be multiple routes to one goal.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving Inventory Problems - Organizing stock into bins and keep track of Profit Margin as it relates to sales and cost of goods sold.

Able to book market overseas with exports and imports using Currency Modules.

Sage has allowed for smooth transition of events and tracking thereof.

 ### 27. Good ERP solution for Apparel Business

Workflows and Configuration Management System

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

UI Screens need to be improved a lot across all areas

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

Best choice for SME Apparel Fashion Manufacturing Organizations.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For MRP, ERP, Finance

 ### 28. Basically Easy To Use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

The ability to have different companies set up, and different user rights for each company.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Some of the funtions are kind of clunky or slow.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

Sage is easy to use and fairly user friendly. I have only been using the product for a couple of years, but it was really easy to learn. I like that we can run multiple separate companies within the system. Sometimes generating reports is slow so you think it's not working. It's easy to design custom financial statements. I don't like the fact that if I am working in a batch and have a problem, my coworker can't access the same batch to see what's going on. We use iMIS as our enterprise software for order processing and membership records so we have to upload all of the data from iMIS to Sage at month end, but it's better than doing journal entries for everything. We also use WooCommerce for a different company's order management system and it would be nice to be able to upload data from WooCommerce to Sage so that we wouldn't have to manually journal entry the sales data each month. We have not tried using Sage to reconcile banking, so I am not sure of it's capabilities when it comes to that, but I would like to be able to do that as well. We do not use Sage for payroll as we have an outside company contracted for that.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's easy to have multiple users working on tasks, like invoice entry.

 ### 29. Comprehensive business management solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2021

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

The software is very user-friendly even for someone who has very little accounting knowledge. The setup for AR and AP modules are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The platform is little bit out dated compared to similar softwares. I think a little bit of upgrade would be really helpful.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, I like the way the system works and I am not solving any problems.

 ### 30. Comprehensive, Difficult to Learn/Admin ERP

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelly Michael S. | Digital Transformation Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

Sage handles all billing/accounting-related pieces of our business.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Sage is difficult to customize, the UI is not modern and it doesn't have many pre-built integrations.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We host our sales orders, invoice, customers and products inside Sage.

 ### 31. Quality product, very versatile software, easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica C. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

The software is easy to use, even for someone with little accounting experience. The add-ons and modules you can add and remove are helpful. I like not having something on site to backup and having the freedom to access anywhere. The reports are excellent.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The support being offered is difficult, it feels like you are better off being a "hosted" product, you end up talking to people who are looking up the answer to your question in a knowledge base that you could just look up yourself. The system can lag a little at times.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

You can choose and customize your experience based on your business needs (payroll, AP, AR, inventory, etc), easy to use and easy to learn.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are setting up our Orchid product which helps us with our EFT without a double entry system. The ease of use makes it great for someone like me with no accounting background.

 ### 32. Not a True Cloud Solution

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Individual & Family Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

It is an affordable accounting system, which is important for us as a Charitable Not-for-profit agency. It is easy to use and navigate the system with little training once you understand the work flows embedded in the functional modules.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

Very poor reporting functionality and low reliability of the system to work as it is meant to. There is minimal reporting built in to the system itself and the reports it does have are too basic to be able to analyze data on any level without combining multiple single reports (manually in Excel from Sage exported reports). Financial statements and reporting are based on Crystal reports, which makes it expensive to build additional reports because we have to outsource for that expertise. Additionally, we have had multiple instances where Sage300 did not properly process a transaction for payroll or an A/P payment with absolutely no explanation from Sage customer service as to why the error occurred in the system or how to fix the problem. We have had to figure out manual "work-arounds" to correct these multiple problems. As a result, we have had to increase all of our human controls around system processes, such as intense reviews of payroll details for all 250 employees on every payroll just to make sure the system calculates things as it is supposed to. I have little to no faith in the Sage300cloud system or its ability to function properly.
Also, it is misleading to call Sage300 cloud a cloud system since in essence, it still requires physical hardware to run the system and updates are not automatic (they have to be downloaded and installed). Also, only a fraction of the system is enabled in a cloud-based way - and it isn't the main transaction part of the system so there are absolutely NO benefits to Sage300cloud when compared to any other true cloud system.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

- If reporting and data analysis is important to you or your organization, Sage300cloud will not meet your needs.
- If you have complex payroll or more than 50 employees, be prepared for the system to make critical processing errors that you will have to implement controls outside of the system to address.
- If you want a true cloud solution that has automatic, timely updates, and can be easily accessed remotely, Sage300cloud will not meet your needs.
- If you want helpful, responsive, informed, and timely customer support to system problems you encounter with your accounting system, Sage300cloud is not going to meet your expectations. You have to become familiar enough with how the system is designed to create your own bandaid fixes for issues and problems you will inevitably encounter with Sage300cloud.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems are countless and ongoing. I've had my trial balance at year end not reconcile or balance; I contacted Sage but they couldn't explain why it was like that or how to fix it. I've had the payroll module not deduct any income tax for an employee for mutliple months in a row, even though the employee payroll setup was correct and working properly for all other employees with the same setup. Again, Sage could not explain why this occurred, how to fix it, or how to prevent it from occuring again in the future. We have had to create our own bandaid solutions to work around the multiple errors that the Sage 300 system has done, despite no human operator error.
We have realized absolutely NO benefits from trying to "fix" problems with Sage300cloud - I can't even say we are solving the problems since Sage300 continuously has problems that aren't solvable, even for Sage themselves.

 ### 33. Overall a great product, but there are small things to improve

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

It is very helpful within the AR and AP modules how they are setup. Overall, it is a pretty intuitive system that is not difficult for a new team member to learn.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

There are a few things such as reversals of a bounced cash disbursements through the AP module that cause the bank reconciliation to not work, but it is a small list when compared to the list of positives the system offers!

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows remote access and creates efficiencies amongst my team

 ### 34. Sage 300c review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bernie L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

It's cloud based so that my staff from both Canada and U.S. offices can access the system.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

I used Tairox to automatically update the exchange rates every night. But whenever Sage does an update (usually overnight), it interferes with my Tairox update and my exchange rates would not load.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

It's probably the most user friendly amongst the comparable accounting system.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Primarily so that staff from remote offices can access the system. Also don't have to worry about maintaining a server and related infrastructure.

 ### 35. Excellent enterprise platform with broad support from third party applications

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

SDKs are more complex. The customizations are difficult. Sometime the troubleshooting can only be done by the support team. The support articles are limited in content.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The integration of Sage 300 and CRM. There is limitation on how much we can modify the program.

 ### 37. End user and Implementation Engineer for SAGE 300cloud

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

Visual Process Flow sets SAGE 300Cloud apart when compared with other Mid Size ERPs.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

SAGE 300Cloud uses the Account Segmentation technique for handling the cost centers. However, this increases the length of Chart of Account, making the Account List higher.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

Best fit and Cost effective solution for the Mid Size business. Easy deployment and quick go live can be expected with the Standard/Vanilla implementation.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Web Screens are not available for the Add on Modules of SAGE 300cloud. However, this the part of it's Roadmap.
Simplest User Interface and advanced BI reporting helps the management team for ideal reports for the business.

**What do you like best about Sage 300?**

Simple design, easy to use. There is nothing overly complicated.

**What do you dislike about Sage 300?**

The overall program is a bit dated towards some of the competition. A face-lift would improve the useability for a number of users.

**Recommendations to others considering Sage 300:**

See if you can use a free trial! It is a great program, but make sure it works for you.

**What problems is Sage 300 solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of our finances. $40+ million / year can be complicated to track and account for.
