What do you like best about Rippling?

What I like most about Rippling is the consolidation - having everything in one place instead of dealing with multiple portals for payroll, benefits, and time-off. When I first started, the onboarding experience was smooth. I could do all my paperwork, set up direct deposit, and enroll in benefits online without having to go back and forth with emails to HR.

The most useful feature is the time-off management system. I can check my PTO balance in real-time, request time-off easily, and be sure that holiday pay calculations are correct based on my schedule. There is no confusion about how many days I have available or whether my time-off request has been approved - it is all clear and automated.

The best part for me is that the payroll and compensation system integration is simply seamless. My pay is accurate and on time, and I can access pay stubs and tax statements whenever I want. Any bonuses or compensation adjustments are also smooth and easy to track. The system takes care of the complexity of compensation calculations for me, which is exactly what I want from a tool.

Rippling makes all the administrative aspects of my job easier. The less time I spend wrangling with HR information or trying to figure out my PTO balance means that I have more time to spend on actual work. What do you dislike about Rippling?

Honestly, I don’t have any complaints because Rippling is doing the basic things that I need it to do, which are payroll, time-off requests, and access to my employment documents. It does what it’s supposed to do.

If I were to complain about something, it’s that sometimes the interface can look a bit cluttered or overwhelming when you first log in. There are a lot of modules and functionality that our company may not even be utilizing, so it takes a minute to get to what I’m actually looking for. Once you learn where everything is, it’s not a problem, but the initial learning curve was a bit more difficult than it should have been.

Now and then, the mobile app isn’t quite as seamless as the desktop version, particularly if I’m trying to put in a time-off request or update information on the fly. It’s functional, but I usually just end up waiting until I’m at my computer if it’s anything more than just checking my PTO balance.

Aside from that, I don’t have any complaints about it. It’s a good system that does what it’s supposed to do, and that’s what matters most for a system like this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Rippling solving and how is that benefiting you?

It eliminates the problem of fragmentation - I think before our company started using Rippling, HR data was probably spread out across several systems, spreadsheets, and manual processes. Now, all things related to my employment are in one place, which means I'm not logging into several different portals for payroll, benefits, time-off, and documents.

It reduces administrative burden. Rather than having to send off an email for time-off requests and wait for them to be manually approved, or having to calculate my own PTO balances and holiday time myself, Rippling takes care of all that for me. The system knows all of this information accurately, so I don't have to.

The advantage for me is that it saves me time and gives me peace of mind. I can easily look up my PTO balance before I plan a vacation, send off a request in less than a minute, and know that my pay and tax withholdings are accurate. When I need a pay stub or tax form, I can download it myself instantly rather than sending an email to HR and waiting for a response.

It also improves the process of onboarding. When I started working for the company, I was able to complete all my paperwork online at my convenience rather than having to sit through hours of orientation sessions filling out paperwork. Everything was easy to follow and easy to understand.

Rippling essentially takes the hassle out of all the necessary but administrative aspects of being an employee. What do you like best about Gusto?

We have found Gusto to be a highly intuitive and reliable payroll and HR platform. One of the most helpful aspects is the ease of use—for both administrators and employees. Payroll processing is straightforward, reporting is customizable, and the interface is clean and user-friendly.

Gusto’s onboarding tools are particularly valuable, allowing new hires to complete all required documentation electronically, which streamlines our internal processes. The integration of benefits administration, time tracking, and payroll in one system reduces manual work and helps ensure accuracy.

Customer support has also been responsive and helpful when needed. Overall, Gusto simplifies payroll and HR administration while providing transparency and efficiency for both the employer and employees.

That said, a couple of areas could use improvement. Tax handling still needs more work, and the “mark as read” option on notifications doesn’t function properly, which can make it harder to stay organized.

What do you like best about UKG Ready?

Our team is able to customize the different platforms to fit our company's needs. And the reporting is top notch. Our fiscal year begins on July 1st. In the past, we've always had to run 2 YTD reports and do a cut and paste job to come up with fiscal year data. I love being able to give the Accounting auditor and the 401k auditor login access each year - so that they can pull the data that they need directly from the system. And once the audit is completed, I can deactivate their access. I love that individuals who leave the organization can still have limited access to the system. They can still see their W2s, pay statements and other tax forms. That eliminates those phone calls and emails each January from individuals who no longer work with the organization. The Time & Attendance platform allowed us to finally get our PTO / Accrual process automated. We have also been able to implement a grant allocation process on the T&A platform as well. Two things that we've had to do manually in other systems. And we were finally able to get rid of a 15 tab Excel document by automating our payroll journal entry. That is something I would list 5 times on repeat. Every system we used in the past always promised that they could integrate with NetSuite (our company's Accounting software). UKG not only promised but they delivered. For once our Accounting Department has been happy with HRs selection of a HRIS. We also had a great implementation team. Love the Open Enrollment platform and the Applicant Tracking platform. We added the Learning module to our platform last month. We are currently reviewing Bryte and Document Manager. What do you dislike about UKG Ready?

Area of improvement: The EverythingBenefits area should really be evaluated. The EDI connection process could be easier. The Performance Review platform could be more intuitive. The workflow process required for this process is unreal. Not sure why the development team is not able to add commas to the dollar amounts on the Applicant Tracking platform. What do you dislike about Justworks?

Despite paying a premium, I have not saved time using their services because their service support is either very slow (i.e. 7-10 weeks to resolve issues) or they completely fail to provide the correct documentation (i.e full W2 forms). We switched over to them mid-year and gave them all W2 info from the previous provider during onboarding, but they did not send full year W2 forms to employees. I asked them to correct this and they flat out refused. This is one example of an issue that will take me hours to resolve and likely cost me thousands of dollars. What do you like best about Paylocity?

I really appreciate how Paylocity integrates with our 401k company, making deductions from employees' pay seamless. It's great that they don't nickel and dime us when extra payrolls need to be processed. The platform is easy to use, especially when cutting payroll on payday. Paylocity’s seamless integrations with outside vendors for employee benefits deductions are a big plus. The customer service is amazing; whenever I call, someone who understands my problem picks up, unlike my previous experience with a competitor where I had to be transferred between multiple departments. Paylocity makes the setup easy, and they were with us every step of the way, ensuring we were ready for the first payroll. What I like best about Asanify is its user-friendly interface. Daily I am using Asanify to give my attendance, that is clock in and clock out. After you clock in, it will automatically display when to clock out my attendance. If I click on calendar, I can clearly see list of holidays coming that month, and we can also who are all the employees on leave for the whole month. I've used my Forma account to get massage/reiki, book a plane ticket for a trip with my best friends, and even buy a book I'd been wanting to read. What do you like best about Kota?

We discovered Kota after we had already begun renewing our private medical scheme benefits with our previous broker.

Kota not only provided a more affordable quote than our previous industry-leading broker but also enrolled us with Vitality, which was an improvement over our previous scheme with another insurer. As a result, more employees have joined our scheme since we switched to Kota.

The most significant improvement for us has been the customer support since the transition. Kota managed to transition us between insurers within a week and were very hands-on throughout the entire process. What do you dislike about Kota?

We don't have any specific dislikes, but there are a few enhancements we would love to see:

1. Consolidation of Benefits: It would be fantastic if Kota could increase the range of benefits offered. It would be great if we could offer some additional benefits without having to find a different provider, such as cash plan medical, cycle to work, staff discounts, etc.

We've integrated the Kota platform with our HR system, making enrolment a breeze. Now, we can easily see who is and isn't enrolled in one place.

Most of the pre-made reports are for things we don't utilize. I think the time/payroll information should also be available in the reports app. The geofencing for punches is a mess. Anywhere there is an employee's name, you should be able to click/jump to their profile, or have dropdown options like individual-time/profile/history/etc. Locking and unlocking timesheets should just be a click.
