What do you like best about Assembly?

Copilot is the best portal/practice management tool out there at the price point. Its one of the very few options that has such a packed feature set, automated invoicing, payment processing, workflows, and much more.

You can easily prompt new clients to sign up via an easy link - you can also easily and beautifully customize everything to match your brand colours and style. If you're starting out, and you're unsure of who to pick, choose Copilot. You can't go wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Assembly?

The drawback to Copilot is that the payment processing fees appear to be quite high, potentially higher than using Stripe directly yourself. As a result, I think using Copilot for payments might not be ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Assembly?

I like copilot because of its extensive features that it includes and helps me run my business better and more effectively. For a startup, it’s a little expensive and wish there was a starter plan for cheaper with less clients. What do you like best about Assembly?

I like the simplicity of the platform. I am a solopreneur bookkeeper and I love tool that can help improve my process and the CX. But, I don't love spending hours learning new about how to use new platforms. Copilot was easy to set-up and onboard my first client in half a day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Assembly?

There are only a few customization option to make the space feel like your brand. They are adequate for sure, but room for improvement is definitely there. With that, I had to download an integration for to make a home screen for my clients portal. I use Copilot as my client portal, and it’s been a game-changer for how I manage communication and document sharing with clients. The standout feature for me is how smoothly it handles file uploads and downloads—whether it’s sharing reports, receiving documents, or organizing files, everything is quick and seamless.

From a client’s perspective, the layout is clean and super easy to navigate. Whether they're messaging me, accessing files, or reviewing contracts, everything is intuitive and well-organized. What do you dislike about Assembly?

Currently, I can’t assign tasks to multiple clients at once, which can be time-consuming when I need to send the same task to several people. Also, I’m not able to add a user with the same email address to multiple businesses, which is limiting if a client is involved in more than one entity. I love the look. It's just visually great to work with. I also like they way you can connect outside apps to get more done with it.

What do you like best about Assembly?

My small accounting practice was growing, and I needed a solution to manage new client onboarding, and general secure file sharing, communication, and billing. I wanted to build out my client portal myself, and I needed to do it fast. I also wanted my client's experience to be easy.

I had explored several other softwares I've heard about through my network, and they were SO time consuming for me to set up, mostly because they are so customizable, in addition to having countless zapier integrations and stuff I didn't care about. Then, I found Copilot in the Google search results.

From the beginning, the setup was so easy and intuitive, without compromising on the quality of the experience AND is still customizable where it matters. It's so user friendly, and my clients have loved it for this reason. I also really appreciate how sleek and modern it is. I was able to build out my client portal over a weekend. Its also really cool that you can create a test client and practice everything before sending to a real client.

Customer support is quick to respond. I use this software every day with my clients, as the messaging feature allows us to minimize email clutter. My favorite app is the Tasks app, which is a very simple and effective project management-ish app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Assembly?

There are a few features I've suggested to support, who have been very receptive to the feedback:

- Integration limitations: (a) Doesn't yet integrate with Xero, my accounting software. (b) All integrations with popular apps (Notion, etc) are only for client facing purposes, not internally facing.

- Project Management: Tasks app has a ton of potential for internally-facing project management, but for right now, gets the job done fine since I'm a solo-firm owner. I'd love to see more features here for categorizing tasks and bulk actions!

- Forms: Would be fantastic to see more options here for different questions prompted based on responses to one-answer questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
