  ### 1. Finally found the solution for connecting with our clients

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

We like the intuitive layout. Copilot also allows a great deal of customization. The partner apps and the ability to integrate our other tools are fantastic features. The client experience is smooth and easy. We expect little friction when onboarding our customers. The automation features, especially with Zapier are great and I expect them to become even better over time.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Nothing really. One thing I think that would be a big benefit would be more detailed instructions for using the API and creating webhooks. I think they assume a certain level of knowledge for working with API's.  It's pretty early, so their documentation is a work in progress. I expect this will evolve. We have not used Copilot very long, and have not put it into service yet. We may find something to dislike later, but nothing yet.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are always looking for better ways to share, store, and organize information for our clients. The problem we have faced is that our client base is "technologically hesitant". We need a better, more efficient way to connect with our clients rather than just email. And, whatever that connection is has to be simple and non-intimidating to our clients. It looks like Copilot is that solution and will allow us to provide even more of a "done for you" service.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I attempted to use other client portals for my consulting business and they did not work like Copilot. It's easy to use and add on the branding features like custom domain and colors, it makes my client portal feel like mine!

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Some of the functionality with the file system is lacking. Not enough room on smaller screens, feels like everything is smooshed together. Used to Dropbox for file sharing so it might just be me.

I like the white glove experience and that app integration allows me to put all of the tools from my tech stack in one place for my clients.

It is more expensive than I would have preferred.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

What I love most about Copilot is how easy it is to create subscriptions for my customers with recurring plans. Since most of my customers fall into this category, it's been a huge time saver and has made billing a breeze. The whole process is smooth for my customers, and I can rest assured that everything is handled automatically, so I no longer have to worry about unpaid invoices.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Since they are a relatively new startup there are a few kinks in the system. However this is to be expected when you're on the cutting edge of technology. It really is the future of billing for small businesses like me.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the issues that I had previously using QuickBooks was that invoices had Quickbooks branding plastered all over them. Quickbooks just doesn't care about this part of their massive company. I still have to use them for accounting, but copilot has saved me on the billing front. 

It's nice for customers to be able to login and manage payment methods. Since I'm great at communicating with clients, they don't login much knowing it's all automatic. most of my customers just want to see their plans continue to be paid and portal allows that to happen with no confusion.

Its design and the thoughtfulness of its features. It's packed with all the services I need as an agency to manage my portfolio of clients, as well as manage the projects with all of them. It is easy to install and I'm using it daily

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Copilot has a subscription billing cycle which, unfortunately for me, allows only USD and not EUR.

Everything is centralised within Copilot so me and my clients don't have to switch between multiple tools.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

My team and I absolutely love CoPilot for my 3 businesses. Copilot offers seamless functionality, the ability to embed almost anything (and it's interactive.), a beautiful minimalistic look with the option to white label everything, and the client experience is SO smooth! 

On top of all the great things the software does, the Copilot team is VERY responsive, it's insane! They immediately respond to help via Slack, note feature requests, and release improvements weekly! Some features my team has requested are rolled out within months, if not sooner. 

I'd recommend Portal to any of my friends or colleagues. It is a great way to manage client projects, communication, share resources, and invoicing!

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Fortunately, there's not anything to dislike honestly. My team and I have a lot of features we'd love to see, but Copilot is so great at noting them and eventually releasing them. The pricing is on the higher-end side - but it's worth it.

- Time-consuming communication with clients via email or phone calls., now solved with instant communication through messaging. 
- Quick & easy billing, all stored and accessible in one place. 
- Easily share resources with clients. 
- Easily share project status with their embed feature, so clients don't have to question what it is we're doing for them!

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

A modern, fast and intuitive tool to engage with clients and get work done. You can get up and running so quickly, and then it 'gets out of the way' so you can get your work done. It feels like a natural extension of our brand and business already.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

Copilot is aiming for simplicity so they are (strategically) lacking some features. But the team are really open to suggestions and improvements and take all feedback into consideration.

We need a client portal that's easy to use and provides exclusive guides (helpdesk articles) to our members. Our branded client portal works great on desktop and phone web browser. The chat, doc storage is super fast and easy to use.

I wish it had more customizable pages. For example, I wish I could host a page on copilot and design it, not all embedded because the embedded things have to be public.

I am able to centrally provide my clients with a login that allows them to access multiple resources they have as our clients.

Copilot is intuitive and has a simplistic view without being simple. You can rename the areas anything of your choosing to best fit your business needs. Onboarding is easy because the system is so intuitive, so you don't have to spend hours watching videos or chatting with support on how to work the system.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The pricing model is a bit higher than some of the other competitors. We had to look at additional software to make the portal do and look just like we needed it to, which makes the price more prohibitive.

We use Copilot as a Client and Candidate Portal in our business consulting agency which focuses on talent acquisition. It helps our Clients and Candidates stay more in-tune with the process, access documents, videos, or assessments.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

The most helpful aspect of Copilot is that it combines various features into one platform, so my clients and I do not need to have several accounts on different platforms to achieve these tasks. The support within the Copilot community is top-notch. Anytime I have asked a question or given feedback, I receive very prompt, detailed replies that directly address the question or concern. Overall, my experience with the platform has been amazing!

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

In my honest opinion, one module that could use some love is the billing module. The lack of certain vital functionalities makes it slightly less ideal than I would like. The lack of a quoting/estimate system where clients can approve and convert to an invoice and the lack of the ability for partial payments to be made (such as an upfront deposit) are two features I am missing that a competitor offered in their platform.

It helps by allowing me to streamline my processes and have one place where all clients can get support, share files, request new projects, pay invoices and subscriptions, and get project status updates.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I like the flexibility of it, that it is white labelled and clean/modern looking there are a lot of competitors I looked at beforehand and they are extremely outdated or difficult to setup. They have great customer support aswell which helps when setting up.

They are still growing so some of the integrations I was looking for aren't there just yet and Zapier integration is there but still being added onto so not the worst thing in the world as they are on the way but yeah.

Having a centralised platform for my clients which is able to link with other softwares we are using for automation is great means we are a lot more productive and clients prefer it over our previous workaround

Copilot is a really useful and slick customer portal platform that has instantly made my new startup an extremely professional look and feel.

CoPilot is an essential piece of our online business. With it we're able to successfully manage our client base. Having one place to safely handle communications, billing, and project file transfers has been a godsend.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The only thing I wish they would modify is the available storage space for their Basic plan. 10GBs is barely anything and even Dropbox's most basic plan at $10/mo offers 2TB. I would also love to see a "Dark" mode integrated and more branding options.

Without Copilot we would need to manage different aspects of our business through multiple different applications. CoPilot solves that by having it all under one house.

Easy to personalize and very user-friendly. I appreciate the ability to make it our own like the order of the left navigation. In comparison to other portals Copilot is the best front facing for customer interaction.

Wish we could embed it with all the other apps that we use. Being able to embedd some of our other website/apps would make it even more user friendly for our customers.

Portal is great for keeping everything client-related in one place. It simplifies our internal workflow, streamlines communication with clients, and allows us to provide a top-quality experience for clients.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

There's nothing I would consider unhelpful about Portal as it is today, but I do hope to see additional integrations built out in the future for programs like Asana, which are not yet supported. I've enjoyed the ability to suggest features to the dev team directly through the Portal Slack community, and I look forward to seeing the future expansion and growth of Portal.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Portal is great for streamlining the client experience. Before implementing Portal for our clients, we were managing everything through separate programs (email for communication, Google Drive for file sharing, Xero for invoicing) and it was easy to miss things. Now, we've got all of that functionality in one place and we're serving clients much better than we ever have. Our internal team loves the simplicity as well, especially compared to tracking down email threads!

Most coherent feature for integrating all the files, documents, and data with the help of this platform. The most amazing thing is its UI, which is very easy to use. All the tools available here are fully customizable, and their functionalities work perfectly.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

It is sometimes not easy to integrate with the payment software or application with this software. Banking servers do not collaborate or integrate easily with this software. And even after integration, the process takes a longer time as compared to usual time.

With the help of this software, we can easily showcase and display all our documentation and information to our clients without any failure. Most useful for my marketing and research team, they are happy using this as it helps them to search and gather data from websites and markets and analyze them for creating an accurate analytical report, and them for the betterment of our company.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I favorite things about Portal is how easy it is to set up, along with how "white-labeled" the product feels. Integrating with other tools and apps is super simple, especially since it works with Zapier. My customers are really impressed and often compliment me for my product — little do they know it's all Portal! The team at Portal is super communicative, supportive, and they ship new features all of the time based on what the customers want. I highly recommend!

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The price is a bit high, but the value is definitely there if you can grow clients enough to make the revenue. Not too much to dislike about Portal, as their team is super open to feedback from their users.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work with clients on their investor pitch decks, so it involves a lot of file sharing and back and forth communication. If it wasn't for Portal, I would have to do this through email or Slack, but nothing would be centralized. Portal makes it easy to streamline my communication with my clients so I can give them a better experience.

It's lightweight, flexible, and affordable. Compared to the other 'portal' options this one just works. This is one of the best tools I've found as a marketing agency owner.

As it is a new project I feel like some of the workflow/UX could be improved. As this is a new company, I expect them to roll out some of these features in the near future.

Client communication, file sharing, reporting and knowledge base all in one place. This helps with productivity and all of our clients have been able to onboard with no problems whatsoever.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

-I like the 'Latest Release' / 'Improvements & Updates' pane. I'm always waiting for more advanced features.
-I like all the 'embed' features.
-I like the sub-domain login.
-I like that I can segment by client or company.
-I like the custom fields/tags. Please allow for even more! That can integrate with apps like ClickUp or Hubspot.
-I love the eSignatures and Billing panes. This is the main reason I use the app.
-The link to share new client logins, is awesome.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

- I wish there was a way to filter out Invoices/ Subscriptions by status. I want to hide all of my Void invoices.
-I wish under Apps, they didn't auto-create channels for 'Not Connected' clients with 'manual set up type'. This takes up unnecessary space, as I only need to see 'Connected' clients.
-I wish I could see exactly what my clients see without creating a fake client account to test new apps and views.

-I often create new clients, contracts, and invoices BEFORE SENDING INVITE TO CLIENT. When hitting 'Send Invite to Client,' I'd like to send the contract signature and invoice. I often receive notifications saying 'signature sent to client' before I've shared the portal to them.

-It is easing my workflow and allowing me to do more in less time.
-It's allowing for clean and quality touch points with my clients.
-It's boosting my brand credibility and image.

Having the freedom to add so many integrations into our client portals is game changing for my advertising agency. Client satisfaction has gone through the roof.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

While this may not be the most important feature, the fact that you can link a Stripe account to Portal and instantly set up recurring subscription billing along with one-off invoices is a great time saver and simplifies what is normally a clumsy process. I like that I can go in and pre-configure a new client account, create a custom welcome message, add forms and files, and THEN send an invite to the client so that onboarding starts as soon as they log in.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I think they are working on this but adding more integrations is their path to increasing its utility. If I had to nitpick, I would say that when I write a message to a client, and I want to add a blank line, it sends out the message (I think it does), and then after adding a blank line, I start to write again - I am not sure that all gets combined into a single message or if it ends up going out as two messages.

It solves the problem of client communications and billing management by centralizing and siloing each set of client interactions. I don't have to use email plus dropbox, plus Quickbooks, plus some form software, etc. It's a nicely bundled set of functions that give me a clear view of things.

I love the UI and how modern the portal is. A lot of others like Clinked or stock portal in practice management software are not user-friendly and they don't flow well. But most of all, I love how responsive and open the team is to their client base. Marlon and Neil really care about what the clients want and prioritize user feedback over all. They're the kind of guys you'd like to grab a beer with, because they're so approachable and cool.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

This is just me being nit-picky but I wish there was a bit more control over the portal. I'd like to be able to remove message channels and be able to change the email for my clients if need be. I think more granular control and customization would solve these issues for me.

I'd also like to have the ability to connect a single user to multiple different "companies."

The only ones I've run into are the inability to change the client email and client profiles. I'm an attorney so I use the "company" feature as a way to associate people that are jointly involved in the same case. Recently I took on a case in which this was the second person the Petitioner had sponsored. Both cases are still active, but the only way to attach her to both is by creating a second account for her.

There are a few limitations that you meet with portal, due it's simplicity it's not possible yet to do some specific things out of the box. Customisability is also very limited and can not be changed.

I love how easy Portal makes it for me to display information to my clients in an organized and elegant way. As a digital marketer who offers a lot of different services from branding and web design to research and strategy and search engine optimization there is a lot of information to convey. For the longest time, I have wanted to find a way to present deliverables and ongoing reporting in a way that was enjoyable and engaging for my clients to digest (ie. a dedicated client portal for each customer) vs the disjointed and undesirable form of communication that was via email and Google Drive folders.

While there are other options out there (ie. WordPress plugins, or even attempting to build my own Wordpress portal), I have yet to find anything as comprehensive, straight forward and as easy to setup as Portal.

Super excited to keep working with this tool, my clients are too!

Nothing yet! Although I haven't used every feature in Portal just yet, I can see a clear use case for them and while I'm sure I will find features I would like to see in the tool in the future, I have the utmost confidence that Marlon and the team will do everything they can to help make it a reality!

The layout makes everything so straightforward for the client that there's no guessing where the client needs to go to do anything. Add the functionality and customizability of extensions for custom sidebar entries, and I couldn't be happier to be a Portal customer. Moreover, using Portal on a mobile device is far smoother than I expected it to be.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The biggest downside to me is no chrome or windows notifications for updates while having Portal open in another tab. This functionality would make it so clients can rely on Portal simply by having it open vs the 5-minute delay before Portal sends a notification email to you / the client.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest pains throughout my career has been getting everyone I work on a project with to centralize their communications, be it requests, modifications, or approvals. We attempted using Slack but conversations blend, and you can't force people into using threads or keeping channel conversations to a specific topic. Portal allows placement of all of the *important* stuff in one spot without the expectation of instant replies that Slack and other chat programs intimate. Plus, the extensions add another level of service for the client that generally requires nothing more than some embed code. Since my team uses ClickUp to manage projects, this is especially helpful. We embed code for a public-facing production list in one extension. Another extension is a public-facing ClickUp Doc with links to all assets and a breakdown of project execution. Hence, there's never any question of where the client needs to go to find something (and that alone is a huge win.) I can't wait to try out connecting my Stripe account and sending invoices that way.
