**What do you like best about Assembly?**

Copilot is a perfect fit for our needs, successfully doing everything we require after our product failure. I am impressed by how quickly you can launch with it, making it a powerful sales enablement tool that streamlines account management and reduces meeting needs, allowing us to operate more efficiently. The ability to store and share files, message, and sell services is immensely useful. Customer service is brilliant, which is a significant factor in wanting to repurchase.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I find the setup process of Copilot to be fairly clunky, particularly when trying to master workflows and detailed parts of the system. It doesn’t feel like it’s 100% self-service, which makes it challenging without external help. Additionally, there are minor issues like pictures not updating immediately and a few bugs that need addressing. Although these are small friction points, they are somewhat annoying.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Copilot to eliminate the need for meetings and account management, enabling scaled service delivery and reducing workload, thereby acting as a sales enablement tool.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I love the features in assembly. I love the simplicity for my clients and the options available even on the lowest paid tier.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I have a few things I wish were features but they are small items. One of them being automated tasks, a  forward and backwards arrow when I am in files in a folder instead of going out and back in again and an audit log of when magic links are sent for each person.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assembly is keeping all my clients and I organized, it is an all in one place for my clients to communicate with me and have documents e-signed which is a must for me.

I like what clients love about Assembly. Clients always compliment how professional I look. I also find the integrations with Google Sheets and Looker Studio very useful because they allow me to provide custom reporting to clients outside of QuickBooks.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The time tracking and tasks are a little basic for my needs, but they have other integrations that may work that I haven't used yet.

I use Assembly for client portals, file handling, and integrating external data sources for custom reporting, which is incredibly helpful.

I like the ability to integrate third-party applications in Assembly. It allows us to create customized forms and workflows, leveraging the data from Assembly.

The forms and workflows within Assembly are limited. They're relatively new and workflows only work with a limited number of apps. There was a bit of a learning curve, especially with setting up custom domains.

Assembly lets us build custom apps, integrating 3rd party apps to create customized forms and workflows.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

I appreciate Copilot for being a smooth and integrated platform that seamlessly incorporates with our systems. It's incredibly easy to set up, particularly with third-party embedding which is very useful. The live reporting and file access save our team extensive admin work by allowing clients to locate data independently. The chat function enables clients to contact us quickly, enhancing communication.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I find that managing workspaces for different clients on the back end of the portal can become quite cumbersome. The embed and app section tends to get busy because different clients have different services. It would be much more efficient if I could switch between clients more easily when setting up the portal.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copilot solves live reporting and file access issues, saving us significant admin work. Clients can find data or designs without emailing us, enhancing efficiency. Clients also appreciate the portal, and features like third-party embedding and chat functionality improve communication.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

Copilot makes the customer buying experience seamless. No more manual email back-and-forths — we save so much time, and every file is automatically organized by client. It’s been excellent.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I think not being able to add another user for a flat fee is tough. The basic plan should really allow at least 2 users — jumping from 1 to 3 for an extra $150 per month feels like too big of a leap. Also, more app integrations are definitely needed. Right now, most of them are very similar in functionality. It would be great to see options like order tracking apps, quoting apps, and other tools that expand the platform’s capabilities.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copilot is mainly smoothing out the messy parts of your customer workflow. Instead of juggling long email threads, hunting for files, or losing track of revisions, everything for a client lives in one place automatically. That means:

Time saved: no more back-and-forths trying to confirm which file is “final” or re-sending the same info multiple times.

Clarity: every client has their own organized hub, so nothing gets misplaced.

Consistency: processes run the same way across clients, which makes it easier to scale without chaos.

We’ve recently started using Copilot as our onboarding portal at 19 Six Media, and it’s been a game-changer. The platform is incredibly intuitive and easy to set up—perfect for creating a smooth, professional experience for new clients.

What really stands out is the support team. For the trickier bits, their help has been fast, clear, and genuinely helpful. It’s rare to find a tool that balances ease of use with powerful features, but Copilot nails it.

Highly recommend to any business looking to streamline their onboarding and deliver a seamless client experience.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The only drawback we’ve found so far is the lack of native automations, which would make an already smooth process even more powerful. That said, the team at Copilot is actively working on this, and based on their responsiveness so far, we’re confident it’s coming soon.

Copilot has solved a major gap in our client onboarding process by giving us a centralised, professional platform to manage communication, document sharing, and onboarding steps. It’s eliminated messy email chains, reduced back-and-forth, and created a far more polished experience for new clients. The ability to guide clients through a clear, branded portal has helped us make stronger first impressions and get projects moving faster with less friction.

I have used Assembly for a few years now. For me, it Centralizes documents and information which apeases my OCD. This also helps communication with my customers.. There things I would like adjusted, but Assembly is always doing just that. They continue to adapt to the current environment.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I would like the task list to be customizable. I would also like to edit documents within the system, without having to download then re upload.

I appreciate the client management and messaging feature that Copilot offers as they enhance communication efficiency. The platform is professional, which leaves a good impression on clients, and it has comprehensive all-in-one features. Though not utilized extensively, I see the potential of the knowledge base for client training.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I find the setup process for Copilot to be quite challenging and not as user-friendly compared to other tools like Bonsai. The inability to manually reorder tasks is frustrating, as it requires adding tasks in reverse order to display them correctly. The biggest shortfall, however, is the payment collection system. Being in Canada and billing clients in US dollars should be straightforward, as it is with other services I use, but with Copilot, it becomes a complex issue. The initial setup with my Stripe account led to rejected deposits because Copilot did not handle the currency correctly, forcing me to reconfigure it to Canadian dollars. This limitation has rendered the invoicing feature essentially useless for my needs. Additionally, the integration issues with QuickBooks further complicate billing, as I cannot seamlessly manage US dollar transactions. The high subscription cost of Copilot feels unjustified when the key features like invoicing do not work for my international billing needs.

I find Copilot improves client communication through its messaging feature, allowing project managers to track all interactions without needing to be cc'd, enhancing team communication efficiency.

We love that our clients can communicate with us on one platform, pay bills, upload files, etc. and stay in the know about their projects.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

We are not tech people, so there have been some learning curves, but it is fairly easy!

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have an unwieldy set of projects over several states, all of which have ongoing client communication needs and different requirements. This tool is helping us get our arms around those things while also letting us develop stronger communication and relationships with our clients and vendors.

The document set-up is a little clunky compared to something like PandaDoc. It would be nice if tokens synced with a CRM so we could create document and customer data would pull in.

No need for separate CRM and document tool. Pricing is comparable and enjoyable. Processing fees are also reduced for ACH payments.

It only offers a fixed array of integrations. It's not super flexible on customization in terms of what you might want a portal to do for you.

I dislike the limitation regarding user additions, where adding more users requires upgrading to a larger plan or incurring additional costs. Also, I find the lack of a pre-existing or standard templatized project management system internally a drawback, as having such a feature would be game-changing.

Certain features like complex billing situations (i.e. deposits), are not available.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

Copilot is the best portal/practice management tool out there at the price point. Its one of the very few options that has such a packed feature set, automated invoicing, payment processing, workflows, and much more.

You can easily prompt new clients to sign up via an easy link - you can also easily and beautifully customize everything to match your brand colours and style. If you're starting out, and you're unsure of who to pick, choose Copilot. You can't go wrong.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The drawback to Copilot is that the payment processing fees appear to be quite high, potentially higher than using Stripe directly yourself. As a result, I think using Copilot for payments might not be ideal.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy file storage, so that you don't need to dig through emails with clients to find the documents you need. 

Creates an immediate sense of legitimacy and class around your business.

I like copilot because of its extensive features that it includes and helps me run my business better and more effectively. For a startup, it’s a little expensive and wish there was a starter plan for cheaper with less clients. It’s got really good features that are really helpful and have had good client feedback about the app.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

The price is a big one for me and my startup because as a startup we don’t have much funds and not a lot of clients. A smaller plan would be helpful for us.

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to easily manage all my customers and bots with the easy to use software. Also helps me not have to worry about managing billing.

I wish more of the things I use on there were actually offered by the platform itself instead of using third party apps. Like trello.

I wanted to be able to offer my clients a subscription based service, and copilot allows me to easily invoice automatically for that. I also wanted a portal where they could find all of their contracts, bills, and galleries in one place

This seemed odd to me and the option itself was also basic. i would like to see more built-in functionality instead of everything being an integration.

Currently, I can’t assign tasks to multiple clients at once, which can be time-consuming when I need to send the same task to several people. Also, I’m not able to add a user with the same email address to multiple businesses, which is limiting if a client is involved in more than one entity. Lastly, the contract customization options are a bit limited, making it harder to create professional-looking documents quickly.

**What do you like best about Assembly?**

My small accounting practice was growing, and I needed a solution to manage new client onboarding, and general secure file sharing, communication, and billing. I wanted to build out my client portal myself, and I needed to do it fast. I also wanted my client's experience to be easy.

I had explored several other softwares I've heard about through my network, and they were SO time consuming for me to set up, mostly because they are so customizable, in addition to having countless zapier integrations and stuff I didn't care about. Then, I found Copilot in the Google search results. 

From the beginning, the setup was so easy and intuitive, without compromising on the quality of the experience AND is still customizable where it matters. It's so user friendly, and my clients have loved it for this reason. I also really appreciate how sleek and modern it is. I was able to build out my client portal over a weekend. Its also really cool that you can create a test client and practice everything before sending to a real client.

Customer support is quick to respond. I use this software every day with my clients, as the messaging feature allows us to minimize email clutter. My favorite app is the Tasks app, which is a very simple and effective project management-ish app.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

There are a few features I've suggested to support, who have been very receptive to the feedback:

- Integration limitations: (a) Doesn't yet integrate with Xero, my accounting software. (b) All integrations with popular apps (Notion, etc) are only for client facing purposes, not internally facing. 
- Project Management: Tasks app has a ton of potential for internally-facing project management, but for right now, gets the job done fine since I'm a solo-firm owner. I'd love to see more features here for categorizing tasks and bulk actions! 
- Forms: Would be fantastic to see more options here for different questions prompted based on responses to one-answer questions.

For example, if I could schedule a message to be sent to a client on a certain at a specific time, that would shave alot of time off the onboarding process. Those are little things though that we have found workarounds within the third-party softwares we use.

You can get a product out very quickly that clients will love and see value in, then continue to build upon it as you will find that clients give you ideas "it would be good if you could add X for us"

The support team on Slack are very proactive and reactive, always willing to help even with features that sit outside of Copilot, like using Zapier to automate something in Copilot

There a few minor things that I would like but it relates to the management of "client apps" to allow foldering.

There are a few features with the wiki/help desk text editor which could do with enhancement to allow for improved content e.g. being able tom centre align images, being able to set the height of iframes

I love how many apps you can integrate into the portal, along with its clean and user-friendly design. During a trial run, I tested three platforms simultaneously to find the best client portal for both my clients and myself. My priorities were ease of use on the client side, simplicity on the backend for building and providing mockups, and the ability to add accessible order forms.

Copilot stood out as the best option. It offered the most features and integrations while maintaining a clean, intuitive interface—unlike the more overwhelming alternatives. We seamlessly integrated our existing order form through Jotform, making it easily accessible within the client portal. While we’re still getting familiar with the platform, I’m confident that Copilot will be the easiest to train my team on and the best fit for our needs.

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

At this point, I don’t have many dislikes about Copilot—just a few suggestions that could help my team. A fully customizable order form that can be built directly into the portal would be a great addition, as well as continuing to expand the available integrations.

One idea is an app specifically for team members (not clients), but I don’t think that’s a critical need right now and could potentially introduce bugs or complications. For now, bookmarking Copilot on my home screen has worked seamlessly and been easy to use.

Managing clients, mockups, and feedback—along with client-requested design changes—can be overwhelming, especially with the volume of files, contracts, and orders we exchange via email. This method has become unsustainable for us.

The program overall and support are fantastic. Before purchasing the program, I was able to set up a trial and meeting with a sales person. Copilot is quite user-friendly and robust at the same time. I like that the native apps are easy to use, especially if you already have documents created as PDFs for your business. The highest paid plan includes HIPAA compliance, and is on the low end of competitive pricing for similar products. I have asked several questions during set up, and in almost every case, someone has replied to my question within an hour!

**What do you dislike about Assembly?**

I have made a couple of suggestions so far. For example, Copilot allows you to rename the apps as they appear on the menu, for example, you could change the forms app to “Onboarding,” however, in the client home app you cannot change the titles to match. This would be a very helpful feature, as I do not want to confuse my clients. Another tool that would be very helpful is the ability to duplicate a form or a contract then change the title if you have two forms that are very similar.

I am using the program as a HIPAA compliant client portal. Copilot is acting as a central hub for my employees and clients to communicate, submit forms, sign contracts, and host records. So many portal softwares have a learning curve which is frustrating and I don't have time for that as a business owner.

Nothing! I really love so much about it. Maybe the only thing is if we have multiple types of clients having 2 different sections to organize their categories would be great.

Copilot for our team has become an essential part of our stack and I believe is essential to every company needing an interactive and easy to use CRM

Sometimes there are small issues like email domains not verifying, but easy fixed with help from support

**What problems is Assembly solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Copilots portal is helping solve our issue of needing an interactive and easy portal for our customers without needing to worry about hosting it.
